The Morning Report — 7/12/23

timingvanhout.jpg

Good morning, kids. Honestly, given the Orwellian nightmare we find ourselves trapped in, I would have bet good money that unreconstructed cop-killer Mumia Abu-Jamal would have been released from prison by now and perhaps given a teaching position at Berkeley. Ditto the equally bloody Joanne Chesimard/Assatta Shakur while feted and given a parade down Fifth Avenue upon returning from self-imposed (and naturally totally unjust!) exile from Cuba. And let's not overlook, the charming and much maligned Sirhan Sirhan, given that the son of his victim is now turning into an ever-increasing royal pain in the ass to the Junta.

Meh, maybe even the Junta's outrageous level of hubris and sense of untouchability is tempered from time to time. Just like the continued push to turn pedophilia from among the most monstrous of crimes into a normal expression of love, the M.O. is usually baby steps. No pun, but still:

When Leslie Van Houten was nineteen years old, she joined the Charles Manson cult. Not long after that, she participated in the August 1969 murders of supermarket executive Leno LaBianca and his wife Rosemary, around the same time that other members of the cult were murdering actress Sharon Tate and her companions. Since 1973, she has been in prison; however, now that American society has gotten far crazier than Charles Manson, Leslie Van Houten is set to be released. Once she sees how insane the world has become, she may wish she were still safely behind bars.

Fox News reports that the killer was freed on parole on Tuesday. One feature of today’s prevailing craziness is the fact that California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D-Crime Pays), who has overseen the Third-Worldization of California as police have stopped detaining people for crimes such as theft and vandalism, has made an amazing transformation into Governor Law and Order: he “stifled several previous efforts to free Houten.”

Suddenly and inexplicably concerned about the victims of a crime, Newsom declared, “More than 50 years after the Manson cult committed these brutal killings, the victims’ families still feel the impact.” This time, however, he lost, which is not surprising since the Left has decided that essentially no crime at all, other than fed-driven “insurrection,” is worthy of incarceration. Newsom said that “although he’s disappointed, he won’t ask the state Supreme Court to block parole this year” for Van Houten.

Tough luck, Gavin! But look on the bright side: now that America is populated by the mentally ill, including those you encourage such as men who think they’re women and vice versa, Leslie Van Houten will have no trouble adjusting to freedom, even after going from the Manson cult to 55 years in the big house . . .

. . . Will Leslie Van Houten be able to deal with the shock of seeing the U.S. government determinedly argue in court that it has the right to censor Americans, First Amendment be damned? Is she prepared for the prospect of primary school teachers vociferously insisting that pornography must be kept in school libraries and made available to the youngest children and that those who wanted to protect children from this pornography were akin to Nazi book burners?

Given her background, Leslie Van Houten could have a bright future ahead, even at the ripe old age of 73. Now that the inmates are running the asylum, as a famous member of the Manson cult, maybe she should consider a career in politics. After all, if Old Joe shuffles off the stage and Gavin Newsom becomes the Democratic candidate for president in 2024, someone will need to take his place as governor of California.

I'm kind of surprised that friend of the blog Robert Spencer missed a rather salient point about the Manson Family and their crimes. Ol' Charlie wanted to incite a race war and then once blacks and whites mostly killed each other off, he and his ilk would emerge from the California desert and take control. Damned if he wasn't 50-odd years ahead of his time because that garbage is exactly what has happened, since Obama lit the fuse.

In any case, it's not that the inmates are running the asylum. Insane as things at times were, and even are, make no mistake; America isn't a crazy house. It's a gulag, or at least on the high speed rail line to becoming one. Speaking of America's historic dog-eating dog, everyone always quotes him when he says "Never underestimate Joe's [Biden's] ability to fuck things up."

I guess that it's all relative. Because if Joe were fucking things up, at least from the perspective of Obama and the Left, Trump would be entering his eighth and final year in office, gas would still be well under $2.00 a gallon, unemployment at historic lows, American business booming, Iran on the verge of collapsing if not liberated from the Mullahs, China backed into a corner, Ukraine never invaded by Putin, and a golden age of American revival not seen since post-1945 and the 1980s in full bloom. The sabotaging of bureaucratic apparatchiks and the GOP-e, and the aftermath of Trumps' COVID blunders notwithstanding.

No, Barry. Aside from his dementia, venality, perversion and viciousness all exacerbated by the dying brain, Joe is doing exactly what you wanted him to do since he's your puppet. You through him are laying waste to the greatest nation and society the world has ever known and delivering the corpse to the Devil. And there's not a damn thing we can do about it. Not peacefully nor through the usual channels that are now no longer available to us, fair elections and open political discourse having gone the way of the rest of the nation.

11 The Federalist has a response to critics of Judge Doughty's rulings that's a good read.

This evidence suggests we are uncovering the most serious, coordinated, and large-scale violation of First Amendment free speech rights by the federal government's executive branch in U.S. history. Period, full stop. Even wartime propaganda efforts never reached this level of censorship, nor did the government in days past have the power of today's social media at its disposal.

The relevant distinction is not left versus right but legal versus illegal. The only real question is whether federal officials and federal agencies have, or have not, violated the highest law of the land -- namely, the United States Constitution.

23 > 7 If Chuck Manson was still alive, he'd probably be leading the polls for the Democrat nomination in 2024.

I remember Richard Pryor's "Mudbone" character holding forth on this. Most of us 29-year-olds probably remember that one of Manson's victims was coffee heiress Abigail Folger.

"That's why I know Manson ain't gonna get out of jail. Long as they make coffee, that motherfucker gonna be in jail."

In other news, Georgia State Representative Mesha Mainor, a black woman, has left the Democrat Party and become a Republican, citing the Democrat's failure to address issues of public safety and school choice "for decades".

Why she hadn't noticed this before is open for debate, but welcome nonetheless.

She announced this on Hannity, and of course is getting the vile responses on Twatter that Democrats always visit on those who attempt to leave the cult, of course.

All the more reason why it's such an important film. It's a cultural touchstone of this era.

There are those who support the film and the work that is being done in the shadows to shut down child-trafficking networks.

And then there are those who throw their open support *behind* child trafficking and use all of their own power and influence to keep those pipelines open full blast.

The morality of each group could not be more crystal clear.

76 I just saw a clip where Dave Chapelle tells of inviting Chris Rock to one of his shows in Las Angeles. Chris brings some friends.
Those friends? Al Gore, Kamala Harris, Gavin Newsome and the founder of Google.
Kamala wants to introduce Dave to her friend about to announce his run for President and calls him on the phone, Barack Obama.

These fuckers have been manipulating who wins for a long time.

I dismissed those who have been saying Newsome is going to be installed; too far-fetched.
Not anymore.
It's going to be Harris-Newsome in 2024. They'll explain away the fraud-- dispite the unlikable Harris-- as "everyone was just voting for the white, moderate, popular gov of CA."
Depressing.

Worse.

They reflexively support the Hollywood, New York and DC elites. The elites are down with preying on children, and so anyone opposed to that is evil.

It's insane because this year has been the year of the shift. Starting with school boards, then moving to business, then "Pride Month" has been a disaster, etc. - and all of it is based on the progs going after kids. And now, with this movie, the press establishment has aligned with "if you're opposed to going after kids, you're an evil monster who loves Hitler and Trump!"

Bold strategy, Cotton. Let's see how it works out for them.

140 Fox News reports that the killer was freed on parole on Tuesday.

Is it wrong to hope that Newsom's family reaps the benefits of his lawless crime supporting efforts?

151 133 I watched a couple of M109s being trailered out of Fort Chaffee, returning to their reserve center after ATD. Past years there would be a long period of firing, probably going through whatever the combat load is. This year, heard about 4 booms, two per gun. Maybe that 155mm ammo is in short supply.

I did that on my high school paper... literally cutting out columns of text and pasting them down in what was intended to be an aesthetically-pleasing layout, which was then photographed to make the printing plates.

For the same reason the put route markers on the highway even though you're not near an exit: reassurance. You can look over and see that your electron supply is still adequate and, if needed, proactively replace the equipment before electron depletion occurs.

In your personal equipment this isn't a huge consideration, but businesses with thousands of machines find warnings of imminent electron depletion to be enormously helpful when it comes to budgeting and inventory control.

156 Q-Anon is a really weird artifact of the Internet Age. It's an op, it's performance art, its a false flag...

There are many people on the right who glommed onto it because it offered a lot of hopium. But Q has claimed many spectacularly wrong things (for me Q immediately was disqualified as a real thing the day that Hillary Clinton was supposed to have been jailed) and the Left uses it to discredit lots of things. Even today there are people on the right who approach the "Sound of Freedom is a Q-Anon Movie!" with "Q was right!"

Q is a mess. There was a Q adjacent guy who used to talk about "Judas goats" and the thing is Q was a huge Judas Goat op. It led people to bad places. Like the Q Anon shaman.

I A friend was on the DC Metro on Jan 6 headed downtown, and there were a number of people in that train car who had Q and WWG1WGA gear and were spouting "Constitutional" positions that just were not so.

165 Just read a sob story out of Oz, where a fat wine mom with the dull-eyed stare of the modern dairy cow/human hybrids our media have created bemoans the loss of her 14yo daughter, who committed suicide. Not because she couldn't get transitioned, but because the hospital had her on *too long a waiting list.* The point of her Queen for a Day routine was, of course, that We Must Do Something to Help the Trans Chirrun.

Propaganda aside, ya just gotta love these horrid scrunts. Not one bit of self-reflection about how her directionless, unmoored worldview and terrible parenting killed her daughter. No... She can't possibly be to blame. She is a right-thinking, bien pensant Good Person who did what TV told her to do, so it can't be that. I do find it funny that they charge what they charge, talk about mental health and well being and how sleep is incredibly important, then provide the worst possible mattress for them to sleep on for the first year, minimum.

I elected to stay in a dorm for the one night where I had to bring all my own amenities (sheets, blanket, pillow, toiletries) and stay in one of the rooms. It might've been ok if they weren't apparently filming an episode of WWE Raw in the room above me. The light fixtures were rattling. And it's one of the more expensive dorms on campus. There's no way anyone gets sleep, unless you're on the top floor.

It might have been the complaints from the women around me. “Men are in their flop era,” one lamented, sick of trying to date in a pool that seemed shallower than it should be.

I could see a bit of curdling in some of the men around me, too.
They struggled to relate to women. They didn’t have enough friends. They lacked long-term goals.

Some guys — including ones I once knew — just quietly disappeared, subsumed into video games and porn or sucked into the alt-right and the web of misogynistic communities known as the “manosphere.”

What to Do with Climate Emotions
. . .A couple of years ago, reading a climate report on my phone in the early hours of the morning, I went into a standard-issue emotional spiral thinking about it all. I woke up my boyfriend, seeking consolation; he took in my frenetic wheel-spinning and went back to sleep. The next morning, he drew up a list of thirty action items for us to consider, ranging from phone banking to ceasing international travel to committing eco-sabotage. There were tasks on the list that we had been doing for years—composting food waste, buying secondhand—but many that we had never considered. We had also recently had a baby, whose carbon footprint likely already exceeded that of entire villages in Burundi. I was playing whack-a-mole with my consumer desires. Every day, I felt like a self-serving piece of shit. . .

276 Nobody on the left is in any position to call anyone else a conspiracy theorist.

Don't all discoveries of conspiracies start off as a theory?

Someone notices a pattern of something being out of order, hypotheses are drawn from knowledgeable assumptions, tests to validate are formed.

Theories are based on substantiated data (not to be confused with "proof"). In many of these "conspiracy theories" there is a body of substantiated data (e.g. masks don't work, vaxxines don't stop C19, Hunter's laptop is his, etc.)

According to the epistemological doctrines of the Left, theories are never allowed to be demonstrated as fact.

And as a result of this attitude, long past are the decades when subpar women got and kept husbands. Sure, subpar women can date and get laid more or less whenever they want (if they're under 35, anyway), but they can't get more than that are will not get any of the traditional benefits like fidelity or marriage. After they start cresting the hill, they are unlikely to get anything at all.

I don't know if any of these women will reconsider their attitudes after they begin their spinsterhoods, but some may.

Feminists, with the help of the MSM/entertainment industries and Democrats, have demonized boys and men for decades. No normal, healthy expression of masculinity has gone unremarked -- ALL have been labeled TOXIC!! They've reimagined the ideal man as a submissive ally, who must put up with all of their sh#t and yet still provide for all their needs.

And now - now! - they wonder why boys and men have gotten so "weird?" You destroyed them. And the ones you didn't destroy, who are still happily normal, want nothing to do with all you crazy women.

Back when I had accrued vacation (I don't anymore - my company is non-accrued) and time rolled over up to some limits, I would accrue at least a couple of weeks of vacation time before I took any. Accrued vacation is time-worked, and it has to be cashed out if you quit or get fired. I'd keep at least a couple of weeks in the bank so that if I got laid off or had to quit for some reason, my final paycheck would be bigger and help me over the hump.

Plus, hours accrued at my pay rate 5 years prior would pay out at the pay rate at which they were used (or at which I was severed).

328 The man-hating discussion is based on an opinion piece in WaPo, for interested masochists https://tinyurl.com/yhnyx2w8

Women have achieved what their feminist foremothers strove for...greater success in college and employment than men. With society bending over to encourage and praise women, men feel left out and unmotivated.

Women still want men that are more successful than they are for long-term partners...but they've outcompeted them. Women get burned out at work, and frustrated romantically, while a small sliver of peak attractive men play the field, and most men exist a coasting, minimal life style.

That's also a result of the slow success of the Left preaching socialism, and what everyone is owed, as opposed to what they must earn. It won't end well for the US. I do like watching videos of men (passport bros) going overseas to places like the Philippines, being treated like kings, and forming the loving, traditional relationships they wanted.

Until the SPLC openly committed to continuing the Biden regime's crusade against concerned parents like those at Moms For Liberty, King said he believed his lawsuit was the only opportunity that "normal Americans and conservatives have to show the world who the Southern Poverty Law Center really is."

The very oldest of the Millennials are barely into their forties.
Depending on who you ask, the Millennials were born between 1980-2000 or 1985-2000. Using the former scale, the oldest Millennials are 43. Using the latter scale, the oldest Millennials are 38.

The oldest Zoomers are 23 and very junior in the workforce, wherever they are.

Talk about luck. My division got the word that we'd all be laid off in six months and we should start looking for work. My buddy (he's also a coworker) and I went out for a drink and we ran into one of his former professors. He told us his company was in the middle of a hiring surge and he could put our resumes in. He pulled up the job description on his phone and I said, "thanks, but I'm woefully unqualified for this job."

He quizzed me a little bit and said, "nah, you'll be fine. The wish list on this one is insane, but I think you can do it. Send me your resume."

I did. I got the job. I worked there for ten years, all through their massive growth from a largish company to a megacorp.

Posted by: Have you figured out that the gay flag is a p3d0 flag? at July 12, 2023 09:16 AM

It didn't say WHY they out-compete men. I purchase stuff for the Fed government all the time, and businesses are identified in the Fed catalog with various indicators (vet owned, minority owned, female owned), and we're supposed to give purchasing presence to those undeserved businesses.

And yes, while the tops of major businesses today are still mostly men, because it takes decades to reach those levels, entry and mid-level management is more and more dominated by women. What, like 63% of college grads are women last year?

Except. . . first, being a "girlboss" is annoying (think Brie Larson), second, that progression ignores human nature/biology (the ideal woman is not a nearing 40 yr old woman who's been acting out her favorite 'Sex and the City' character's lifestyle for 20 years), and then there's the unreasonable criteria for a "perfect mate" who is more successful blah blah blah.

An uncited factor in the decline of participants at BSA's National Jamboree, its High Adventure programs, and its "sleep away (from home) camping" weeks at its Councils' summer camps is that their costs are straining the capacity of many youths and their families to pay for the experience.

Per participant costs by program are as follows. This year one week at a Council summer camp bills out at between $475 and $575, and this is before any costs to equip a camper are added to the bill. High adventure treks bill out at between $1,750 to $3,500, depending upon which base is chosen. The Jamboree billed out between $1,500 and $2,000. These are not insubstantial amounts.

Now living in a transitional living facility, hopefully in-state, parole supervision & "... a three-year maximum parole term with a parole discharge review occurring after one year."

Her attorney said, she "is now parsing through job offers and trying to “find her bearings.” “I think she wants to get into some field where she can make an impact,” she said. “When in prison, she mentored other inmates and tutored them to get GEDs and even bachelor’s degrees.” (Job offers!! Teacher shortages.)

Not the only 'family member' paroled & freed; there are others such as Squeaky Fromme, accused of pointing a gun at President Ford (R), given a life prison sentence, paroled 2009. (Last reported shopping in NY state.) But Van Houten's release highlights that even the most evil may enjoy more quality years in society, and many others of that ilk could be following, soon.
