Jim Jordan Proposes Moving Much of FBI Out of DC
Yes, move it out of DC. DC has become the sort of city that liberals aspire to live in, making FBI jobs more appealing to them.
Drive them out any way you can. The first step is blocking funding of the new FBI headquarters in DC, which Christopher Wray really wants.No, the suburbs of DC are full of liberals.
As House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jim Jordan, R-Ohio, continues to blast the FBI and Department of Justice over alleged politicization of the justice system and law enforcement, he is eyeing a major move to separate the bureau from the intrigue of the nation's capital. To that end, he has thrown his support behind an effort to relocate the FBI headquarters, pointing to existing facilities in Huntsville, Ala., in a bid to depoliticize the bureau, he wrote in a Tuesday letter to the House Appropriations Committee recommending that the House use the "power of the purse" to advance key reforms. The bureau currently seeks to move out of the capital and into the suburbs.
"The Committee remains concerned about the politicization of federal law enforcement power emanating from FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C.," he wrote. "The centralization of FBI operations in the National Capitol Region has led to duplication of activity best left to the respective field offices, contributed to reduced autonomy in local field offices, and allowed improper political influence to taint law enforcement investigations and activity." He further suggested language for the 2024 appropriations bills to address the bureau's proposed move to the suburbs and the logistics of an alternate destination. "None of the funds made available in this Act may be used to build a new FBI headquarters. In addition, the FBI is directed to submit an operational plan within 90 days to move the FBI Headquarters out of the National Capital Region," he wrote. "The operational plan should also consider the existing resources and infrastructure available at the FBI's Redstone Arsenal Campus in Huntsville, AL."

I have in the past suggested that any new GOP President and his staff not occupy the White House or otherwise enter D.C., and instead occupy an alternative Executive residence and offices in West Virginia. The example of the Federal Secret Police pursuing the President and his aides and allies in the Federal Courts of DC/Northern Virginia/Maryland, and those venues' susceptibility to rendering political outcomes by Judges and juries alike is enough to make such a move a rather prudent precaution.
It would simply reveal to the public what is already the case - the U.S. is in no way a united, single nation.

There's 56+ offices in the US already. Just because someone's butt is sitting &/or working out of a particular office or working from home doesn't mean they're not attached to headquarters, or not being paid headquarters locality pay & other benefits for their work.
EVERYTHING is a numbers game...contacts, cases, convictions, settlements, and so on. Not all, or even most, has to be generated strictly by the feds but they may be part of agency's national statistics. Those stats go to Congress, funds are obligated, bodies brought onboard, more laws created... unless or until Congress says enough.

But our side always loves the idea of an overly large military and law enforcement. And up until about 20 years ago, most everyone in these agencies leaned heavily right so we weren't scared of them.

It's not gonna happen. It will never pass the House. We also have a lot of GOP senate seats up in 2024 and the most hated politician in DC is Mitch McConnell followed by the GOP senate caucus. There are actually some good candidates running this time who will win their primaries and the general. You'll see a senate GOP majority in 2024 and McConnell will be gone by then.

I'm a little unclear what your personal expectations are with respect to what their powers are and the fact the senate is a Dem majority. I think they'll probably throw a few votes up to the senate as table setters for 2024, but with McConnell and Dems in charge it's going to be a dice roll. McConnell is old and fragile, so his clock is counting down, Thune is an idiot and won't be able to get the votes and Cornyn has one foot in the grave. I think that all bodes well. I'm a little unclear what your personal expectations are with respect to what their powers are and the fact the senate is a Dem majority. I think they'll probably throw a few votes up to the senate as table setters for 2024, but with McConnell and Dems in charge it's going to be a dice roll. McConnell is old and fragile, so his clock is counting down, Thune is an idiot and won't be able to get the votes and Cornyn has one foot in the grave. I think that all bodes well. As these people die off, with the new people coming in, the landscape changes.

I have yet to hear an argument that the cheating will be diminished in places like Philly with anyone other than Trump on the GOP ticket. Just an assumption that suburban women will slightly less angle towards Democrats and the GOP will retain the entire working class vote that Trump attracted.

As a long term observer, former party worker, what you describe as a new GOP is literally like rebuilding an auto transmission while driving down the freeway at 70. Right now, the donor financed GOPe state parties are burning down because the donors will not give money to these parties with outsider populists running them because the gravy train and liberal policies are being chucked. Michigan, Arizona, Georgia, etc have literal insurrections involving local party committees.
Conclusion, reforms of the GOP are unlikely to occur before we crash. The crash in US economics will occur within the next decade and we will basically see something like a Great Depression scenario for about a decade at best. Simply put, roughly one hundred percent debt to GDP, in country after country, economic growth nosedives usually into a severe financial slump for about a decade or two to rectify the damage.

Our military strategy was and is not based on a proxy war scenario. US military doctrine is Air Land Sea which does not require a bunch of artillery shells nor trench warfare. That was ditched post WWI as doctrine.
Simply put, artillery shells or Stinger missile inventories were not designed for trench warfare but as an accomplice to air power and armor and fluid movement of troops.
Soviet doctrine was and has been using artillery and masses of armor as the prime dispenser rather than air power.

Guess what, without doing what the mass of voters want why should donors be given power. The most effective organization which GOPe campaign consultants HATE is GOTV which is not robocalls nor junkmail flyers, ads, etc. which earn big commissions for campaign consultants. It is volunteers pounding doors in the precincts to people they know--it is invigorating local party organizations to actually do what the people want locally instead of a few big party donors, and so on.
