A staffer for then-Vice President Joe Biden cc’d Hunter Biden on an email to Joe about a scheduled call with former Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko, a document released by National Archives due to a Freedom of Information Request (FOIA) shows. While Hunter Biden earned $83,000 a month as a board member of Burisma Holdings, a Ukrainian energy company, Joe Biden’s assistant, John Flynn, looped in Hunter on a scheduling email, dated May 26, 2016, about a call between Joe Biden and Poroshenko, the Washington Times reported the FOIA. Flynn wrote to Joe and Hunter Biden:Of course, we knew much of this information even before the laptop bombshell broke just before the 2020 election. All of this is mere confirmation, which further underscores Hunter Biden's and perhaps Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants' untouchable status. As if the wrist slap the former got a few weeks ago wasn't enough of an underscoring of who are the inmates and who are the warders. In any case, is the fact that these revelations are coming out indicative of a plot to take out Biden before 2024? Does any of this really mean anything in terms of crime and punishment? Well, when Merrick Garland, Christopher Wray and the entire national law enforcement and intelligence communities do all they can to preserve, protect and defend the criminals and the criminal enterprise of which they too play key roles, the question answers itself. Even more when people from Daniel Penny all the way up to Donald Trump himself are being set up and railroaded. The fact that the DOJ/FBI et al are implicated in the coverup of the crimes, the spin from the propaganda mills to the contrary notwithstanding, surely would (in theory) take them down as well. Or is it that folks like Comer and Grassley are indeed succeeding in getting this out, as relatively unfiltered and unexpurgated as they can? While a grave injustice, and that is way too mild a word, is being done to Trump and all of us while the Bidens snort coke and tweener hair with impunity, the bigger question is how long will we stand for this? Moreover, Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) told Breitbart News the FBI informant file shows Hunter Biden’s lucrative position on Burisma’s board represented monthly installments of a $5 million total cut owed him in the deal with his father.
In September 2024, less than two months before the next U.S. presidential election, the United Nations will host a landmark “Summit of the Future,” where member nations will adopt a Pact for the Future. The agreement will solidify numerous policy reforms offered by the U.N. over the past two years as part of its sweeping Our Common Agenda platform. Although there are numerous radical proposals included in the agenda, perhaps none are more important than the U.N. plan for a new “emergency platform,” a stunning proposal to give the U.N. significant powers in the event of future “global shocks,” such as another worldwide pandemic. . . . . . Further, “The Secretary-General would decide when to convene an Emergency Platform in response to a complex global shock.” Or, put in simpler terms, a “global shock” is whatever the U.N.’s leadership says it is, triggered whenever the U.N. desires. . . . . . Rather than assert America’s independence and sovereignty, the White House has expressed its support for the emergency platform. U.S. Ambassador Chris Lu noted in at least two March 2022 speeches that the Biden [junta] backs the emergency platform, along with numerous other proposals included in “Our Common Agenda.” The emergency platform would centralize an immense amount of power and influence, giving the United Nations greater control over the lives of Americans than it has ever had before. And rather than stand up for Americans’ rights, [so-called quote-unquote "president"] Biden has already agreed to sell us out.September of 2024. Two months before election season really gets cranked up (remember when it was only one day?). I'm sure it's just a coincidence, right? Forget the hair- and cocaine-sniffing and the graft for a moment, and think back to that speech he barked at us on Labor Day last in front of Independence Hall, bathed in red Albert Speer/Leni Riefenstahl klieg lights and braced by two Marines in the background. Forget juiced up viruses, biologically and psychologically. The real threat to "our precious democracy" (*vomits*) comes from extremist ultra-MAGA Republicans. With much of our police and military directly under the Junta's thumb and worse, far too many people still wearing face masks as well as hopped up on racialism and transsexualism out the wazoo, what do you think will happen if Trump or DeSantis or any non-RINO stooge GOP candidate (aside from Ramaswamy, who else?) actually overcomes the pre-baked cheat in the swing states/districts and wins? Meh, why even take the chance of an election in the first place? Horribly weakened as this nation is, it is still the lynchpin and last line of defense from the entire shithouse of a world going up in flames or down the tubes. This is potentially huge. Judge issued a preliminary injunction against a whole swath of federal agencies including the FBI and DOJ over censorship. To do this, the judge had to determine that the plaintiffs were likely to win on the facts. So, apparently, there is some delicious schadenfraude WRT the Sound of Freedom overtaking Indy at the box office to become the number one film in America right now, SOF was shot and in the can in 2018 with 21 C Fox, when Disney bought 21 C Fox, they shelved SOF, it took the producers a couple of years to buy the film back from Disney, but they did and now their film is beating Disney.

Wouldn’t the UN’s Pact for the Future have to go before the US Senate for ratification? It sounds an awful lot like a treaty… I know we’re post-law and post-constitution but I can’t imagine even our current population of LIVs and TikTok zombies would tolerate having to obey proclamations from Secretary-General António Guterres.

I did poke my head into two different theaters that were showing Phoebanna Jones. One was in the middle of the movie and one was just starting.
Both had about five people in the seats. The opening one could have had more people fill in but not that many more.
As for Sound of Freedom.

After a lot of thought, I think the movie "Backstabbing for Beginners" turned the light on to how wide, deep and comprehensive the corruption in any form of "foreign aid" or nation building.

Here in East Texas Oil fields, BASA is restarting oil pumps that have been idled for years (after some rework).
I'm not saying that oil is abiotic (not saying that it isn't) but whatever is going on, they are able to recover oil from previously "depleted" wells.

The payments are set up to benefit Amazon (you pay for the ads at the end of the month they're delivered in, but you don't get paid for your book sales until the end of the following month), but so far the clicks I have paid for are leading to actual sales, at a 6:1 payout rate.

I knew someone who worked for Animal Control. He either overdosed on an animal tranquilizer or committed suicide that way-I'm thinking it was the former and so did his girlfriend. He was in his 20's at the time, very intelligent-except for taking animal tranquilizers-and a brilliant actor. So very sad!.

It was an artificial problem and remains a great example of policy risk.
Carter banned nuclear reprocessing because reprocessing nuclear waste and spent fuel and whatnot can result in weapons material. It also takes large quantities of nasty stuff and turns it into small quantities of extremely nasty stuff - and thus is a net benefit because the extremely nasty stuff is pretty easy to sequester and store in small quantities.
Carter's gambit failed. The USSR never went along with it, and all it did was destroy the nuclear reprocessing industry - and expertise - in the United States. It doesn't matter that Reagan reversed the reprocessing ban fairly quickly. The industry did not recover. Nobody will stake large amounts of capital on an activity that be banned on one man's stupid whim. Which is why it's so amusing that Biden is curious why oil companies are reluctant to invest in an on-again/off-again regulatory environment...

I like the show. It's had an interesting evolution. Season One was very dark and angry as a one-time, failed, star chef came back to take over and save the failed family restaurant after his drughead brother died of an overdose. The show was all about these people angry about how their lives had gone wrong and being stuck in the restaurant.
Season two the attempted rebuilding of the restaurant into a one-star Michelin restaurant is seen as a chance for the people to change their lives and fulfill themselves. So, it's lighter with some humor.
The problem I have is the projectile vomiting of feelz all over the place. No one, not even college student stoned out of their minds in a bullshit session talk this way. Now, maybe this is some Italo-Chicagoan way of talking, but here in Texas most of that dialog would earn you a "Get your shit together, buddy, and get on with it." at best.

From a resource perspective, there aren't too many competitors for Superpower. Almost every nation requires some level of global trade in order to sustain their population. The FUSA is unique in that CONUS has pretty much everything to survive - except the will to live which has been largely extinguished on a cultural level.
Chindia has a will to live, but not the resources. Likely some sort of collaboration and plundering of near-by resource nations. The FUSA will be neutered in the East which will allow those countries to get by.
Europe is dead.

As three of my professors pointed out, separately, the Middle Ages believed in the former, but not the latter. It was in the Renaissance that the two were combined. Honestly, even the girliest of girly dramas couldn't match the continuous barfing out of every single thought and feeling in Season Two.

O/T, but bank CDs are in very weird territory right now and something will have to give. CDs are paying less than Treasury bills. When all interest rates were compressed down around zero, this didn't really matter. Now that T-Bills are earning more than equivalent-duration CDs *and* we're well off the zero boundary, there is zero incentive to buy a CD instead. Sure, the CD is FDIC or NCUA insured and the T isn't, but if the US FedGov defaults then the FDIC/NCUA is a moot point anyway.

Now that T-Bills are earning more than equivalent-duration CDs *and* we're well off the zero boundary, there is zero incentive to buy a CD instead.
CDs used to be the refuge of retirees for portfolio preservation. The downside to laddering CDs is that retired people have surprise medical expenses.
I need to ask people smarter than me how a T-Bill / CD inversion works out for retirees (not on a defined benefit pension)

Shouldn't really matter. If you're invested in Ts, they will mature and pay out just like a CD will. The key difference is in the rollover. With a T set to automatically reinvest, the coupon pays out and the original par investment rolls over into a new T, so it doesn't compound unless you reinvest it manually with the new amount. Also, Ts come in $100 increments, so you can't recapitalize it to the penny like you can with a CD. They're a modestly bigger pain in the ass than a CD. A CD's only benefit I can think of is the "set it and forget it" approach - but even that only works if you're not chasing yield, since it's almost always a better investment decision to let it mature out and then buy a different CD somewhere else.

Maybe that's just human nature too. The vast majority of people seem hard-wired to group together and build more and more complicated social structures - until the thing gets so vast and unwieldy that it falls apart.
Maybe that's our fate. The constantly take one step forward and two steps back. I dunno'. I do know this - we've hit one of those historical points where our technology has outpaced our social capacity to control it. I can't prove it, and I doubt such a thing can be proven, but I can feel it in my bones.
