Sources: Not Only Was Meghan Markel's Podcast Boring and a Huge Money-Loss for Spotify, But... She Didn't Even Conduct "Her" Interviews

Via Matt Vespa at Townhall, a new report says that she didn't even bother asking "her" guests the questioned -- her staff did, and then she recorded herself asking the questions later and edited that in.

Just after Spotify's breakup with Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, a new report alleges that Markle's interviews for her "Archetypes" podcast were not conducted by her.
Podnews reported that some of the show's interviews were done by members of the duchess's staff -- and audio of her voice asking the questions was clipped in later.
The Post has reached out to representatives for Markle and Archewell Audio for comment.
The revelations come shortly after Spotify and Archewell said in a joint statement to The Post that they have "mutually agreed to part ways and are proud of the series we made together."
A source previously told The Post that the Archewell media company launched by Harry, 38, and Markle, 41, didn't produce enough content to receive the full payout of the $20 million deal they agreed to in 2020.

Sportswriter and podcaster Bill Simmons slammed the couple in the wake of the fractured deal, saying he once met with Harry about podcast ideas and calling the pair "f--king grifters" in Friday's episode of his namesake podcast.
Podnews reported that "multiple sources" shared that some of the interviews were done by members of Meghan Markle's staff -- with her voice added in later.
"Archetypes" -- which premiered in August -- was the only project to come out of the Spotify deal and featured just 12 episodes.
Speculation that Markle doesn't directly interview her guests started circulating when writer Allison Yarrow shared on Instagram in August that she was "excited to be included in the visionary series."
Yet the post showed Yarrow posing in front of a sign for the audio production house Gimlet Media -- and included thanks to an "Archetypes" producer for being "an excellent interviewer."

Yarrow's explanations and comments were edited and interwoven between comments from the Duchess of Sussex in the podcast audio, the Daily Mail reported in November.

Did she fake every interview? No, Matt Vespa says. She did interview the celebrities, the people she wanted to suck up to. But for The Common People, she had her producer talk to the undesirables, and then faked her own interaction with the lower orders.

If I'm being honest, I imagine most on-air "news professionals" also pawn off interviewing duties to lower-social-order producers and researchers, though I don't know if they then fake their own participation in the interviews.

If you're recording a podcast, why retain the services of a real audio studio? You can get excellent results in your own home for a couple of grand in equipment and materials. Making a good interview space with high quality sound recording has never been cheaper or easier. Why blow the money on a studio?

This is basically what goes on in congress. Staffers are making policy while the "elected" reps and senators pretend they came up with legislation. In some cases they're surprised to be questioned about it because they don't have a clue what's actually in the bill they are purported to have sponsored or co-sponsored.

This is often done for radio when a celeb is promoting something (new album, movie, etc.). It saves the celeb tons of time - just answering the questions once, instead of 100s of different times by each local radio station morning show host. Most celebs would prefer to do it this way then sit through countless interviews.

Radio stations used to do this a lot. Maybe they still do, but I don't know.

A guy with a hit song would answer interview questions on tape, and the tape would be sliced up with some amount of dead air between the answers. The tape and the interview questions would be sent to radio stations. DJs ask the question on the air during the dead spaces on the tape, and the musician's recorded answer played back in response. This is how so many radio stations got to do "interviews" with big stars or bands that suddenly had a big hit.

It saves the celeb tons of time - just answering the questions once, instead of 100s of different times by each local radio station morning show host. Most celebs would prefer to do it this way then sit through countless interviews.

A podcast can be run by one guy with a ring light, an internet hookup and server, and a recording device. This means the original gate to participation, cost and bandwidth, is gone.
Now it is a question of reputation, ability and guests. Politics is no longer a great gatekeeping criteria. Content is no longer a big issue, I used to listen to a Tango podcast that was pretty much an hour radio program listening to this guy play his old records and saying a few words about it. Fantastic entertainment.

I have limited time to spend listening to podcasts, so I have to be picky, but there must be thousands of them. I only listen to ones I can download an audio file and then don't skip too often.

Not known yet. Not many Californians moving to TN, the Carolinas, or Flordia. Most of the inflow comes from the Mid-Atlantic for those states.

Historically, what you describe is the norm: progs move in and destroy the place - like happened with CO, NV, NM, AZ. This more recent migration looks to be a bit more like-for-like - non-progs moving out of state, progs moving out of the city to the suburbs or elsewhere in prog states that suck a bit less.

If this bears out, this one will look different than prior migrations. If it doesn't, then it's game over because the colonists will have captured most of the remaining outposts of relative sanity.
