Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Wall Street Analyst: Bud Light's Loss of 15-20% of Its Sales is PermanentBud Light sales hit a fresh new low last week: Bud Light claims that "misinformation" is the reason for their decline, but video shows them proudly supporting the Toronto Shame March, where pedophile-adjacent naked men paraded their penises in front of children. And check out what appeared on Bud Light's stage there -- or don't. CONTENT WARNING for cosmic revulsion. Has Bud Light lost the taint of its old "fratty" humor yet, Alissa? The forecasts call for the current losses to be permanent. And not only have they lost 15-20% of their sales volume permanently, but they'll go back to losing market share bit-by-bit before they came up with the brilliant idea of bringing in Dylan Mulvaney as a transfluencer. The article seems to spin for Anheuser-Busch, saying that people should buy their stock because it's lost as much as it's going to lose. But in offering that advice, the analyst admits that A-B's sales losses are permanent. I can't see any of this as good news: In the week ending June 10, Bud Light sales declined 26.8% compared to the same period a year prior, marking the ninth straight week of declines greater than 20%, according to Nielsen. Analysis from Evercore ISI indicates that volume declines are steadying in a range of 26-28%, though no recovery is in sight yet. ABInBev's stock has stumbled amid the declining sales reports and Modelo surpassing Bud Light as the top-selling beer in America. Shares are down roughly 13% since the beginning of April when the Mulvaney ad campaign was launched.Another analyst agrees that Tranheuser's loss of sales is permanent. ... But some Wall Street analysts don't see good times ahead for the Bud Light brand itself. Deutsche Bank sees some of Bud Light's declines as a "permanent reduction" in AbInBev's US business. Evercore ISI analyst Robert Ottenstein agrees. "Bud Light will permanently lose about 15-20% of its volume, after which declines will resume at about the average rate of the prior 10 years," Ottenstein wrote in a note on Wednesday. "Budweiser will also see a similar pattern, with consumers lost in 2022 not coming back."Instead of apologizing to its customers or firing the parties responsible, Bud Light has decided to bring back a "beloved" icon. No, not the Wazzup guys. Not the Budweiser frogs. Not even Spuds MacKenzie. No, remember, the Sorority Sad-Sack Alissa Heinerscheid branded Bud Light has having previously been known for "fratty" "bad humor." So they can't bring back those "fratty" "bad humor" icons. Every headline would say, Bud Light brings back advertising campaign its VP of advertising called "fratty" and "bad humor." Well not every headline would say that -- but the honest ones would. So they're bringing back an "icon" that I have never heard of, dating from all the back to 2018. Yes, the "Bud Knight" is back. Can you feel the excitement?!?! So iconic I never heard of him. Then again, I gave up football when it got too woke so I just haven't been watching television when they're most likely to run beer ads.
Starbucks denies these allegations -- Allegations of Sanity, if you ask me -- but there are a lot of claims from individual stores that owners have instructed workers to take down all the homosexual festoonery. This is supposedly video of Starbucks employees taking down "rainbow" decorations:

"Bud Light will permanently lose about 15-20% of its volume, after which declines will resume at about the average rate of the prior 10 years," Ottenstein wrote in a note on Wednesday. "Budweiser will also see a similar pattern, with consumers lost in 2022 not coming back."
++++ Maybe. That might end up being the case, but only if Tranheuser-Busch doesn't screw up again for a while. But this *also* assumes that there is little if any overlap among the customers that they lost over the Mulvaney/Heinerscheid debacle and the customer base that was naturally leaking out. That is, they assume that the big recent drop is in a different part of the market and so those customers the brand has been bleeding off anyway are an entirely different category - it's just the bleeding specifically attributable to them is overwhelmed by the Heinerscheid Hemorrhage. What is the basis for that assumption? What if the customers that fled because of this were *also* the ones who were drifting away anyway, and so all this was at the end of the day was an accelerator on the trend - ripping the band-aid off instead of slowly peeling it away? I remember when I was a kid and got green paint all over Mammy Eromero's new washing machine and dryer (long story). She looked down at me and said 'I reckon you're proud of yourself?' Even at the age of five at that that moment I thought 'that's the dumbest thing I ever heard her say'. Next thought was 'She gonna beat me link a rented mule.' I believe the Scriptures and there is a very fascinating category of study that considers Maximums (eg. Hollywood makes us think they all were huge (only a few varieties were) Based on Scriptures, cave drawings and historical narratives (see Emanuel Velinkovsky's work) "dinosaurs" were common until maybe three thousand years ago. They certainly were alive and plentiful at the time of the Great Deluge. Companies used to exist to make money, which we're now told is a bad thing. But what it really means is that you found an efficient way to meet people's needs. When you do you create value and wealth, which is the true foundation for progress. Too many companies now ignore meeting people's needs. Disney is an obvious example, but it's becoming rife. I keep seeing the class divide in society and business that didn't used to be there even as recently as thirty years ago. You never hear any more success stories where somebody had humble beginnings. Everybody who makes it big these days was wealthy to begin with. The big end of town was always mostly in that category but there were enough new outsiders to keep the door open for others. That has now been completely shut off. The last one to get in was Trump and see how they are treating him, he is just not one of them.
There are a few exceptions like Hollywood which needs new faces but even there the gates are shutting, The music industry rebels are simply publishing their own music via the social media. Gamers are another category but moves are in progress to shut them out as well as indie musicians. People see it and are angry but we are not permitted to even voice our displeasure so we don't buy their products instead. Posted by: President Select Decaf at June 27, 2023 05:24 PM (3JfbU) 323

I anticipate that AB is going to have to end up re-branding the Bud Light brew. Same piss, but a new and unknown label.
Truth in advertising laws being what they are, might I suggest: GROOMER'S PALE AIL. And no, the third word ain't a typo. They can put it into penis shaped cans, so their customers can just "suck it down". Their commercials can feature Spuds McKenzie doing it "doggy style". i.e., likking himself. With some CGI making his doggie peen look just like the penis shaped cans. I mean, c'mon AB. You're in neck deep already, just take the full dive into the sewer. I remember from maybe fifty years ago, a tee shirt, "Bud Man. Dauntless Defender of Quality".
This whole thing has the characteristics of a perfect storm: Other beer is available. Nobody's going dry. Varieties of other beer are available. There are choices. Those who like to talk about beer as if they're top-end conoycers...."a good IPA", emphasizing the indefinite article as their wine-loving brethren do, have hours of delicious argumentation ahead. The trans/Q/ coming-for-your-kids thing is all over the place, is amorphous, a shifting target and Bud Light pulled all of that stuff right over its center of mass and yelled "SHOOT HERE!" Personally, I like whatever beer is closest when I open the cooler, preferring that which somebody else brought and particularly if it has twist-off tops. Posted by: Richard Aubrey at June 28, 2023 09:01 AM (dSnnl) 410
My impression is that they don't advertise beer so much during NFL games anymore. My guess is that it's difficult because most TV ads have to feature interracial couples now, and beer isn't really a "couples" product. The beer companies could do ads with a bunch of black guys, but then they'd likely be accused of trying to prey on/ exploit (presumably) poorer persons by getting them to buy a product they don't need and turning them into alcoholics. But then, they also can't do ads that are filled with white guys, or there would be a thumbsucker in The Atlantic about how they're trying to appeal to white supremacy.
