"A minimal amount of research" disclosed this. But Snopes, the official media-certified "fact"-checker, didn't bother with that. They know who the Angels and Devils are in this morality play. Oh, by the way: The co-founder of Snopes built his site on plagiarism of other people's fake fact checks. From 2021: David Mikkelson, the co-founder of the fact-checking website Snopes, has long presented himself as the arbiter of truth online, a bulwark in the fight against rumors and fake news. But he has been lying to the site's tens of millions of readers: A BuzzFeed News investigation has found that between 2015 and 2019, Mikkelson wrote and published dozens of articles containing material plagiarized from news outlets such as the Guardian and the LA Times. After inquiries from BuzzFeed News, Snopes conducted an internal review and confirmed that under a pseudonym, the Snopes byline, and his own name, Mikkelson wrote and published 54 articles with plagiarized material. The articles include such topics as same-sex marriage licenses and the death of musician David Bowie. Snopes VP of Editorial and Managing Editor Doreen Marchionni suspended Mikkelson from editorial duties pending "a comprehensive internal investigation." He remains an officer and a 50% shareholder of the company. "Our internal research so far has found a total of 54 stories Mikkelson published that used appropriated material, including all of the stories Buzzfeed shared with us," Marchionni and Snopes Chief Operating Officer Vinny Green said in a statement. ... Snopes told BuzzFeed News it plans to retract all of the offending stories and disable advertising on them. It will also append an editor's note of explanation to each. Said Mikkelson, "There is no excuse for my serious lapses in judgement. I'm sorry."Oh, and David Mikkelson is also accused of having embezzled $98,000 from the company, which he co-owned with his wife, and spending it on prostitutes. He then married one of his top prostitutes, who later alleged he "r@ped [her] every day." Zero Hedge put it less delicately. So yeah, let's trust this super-sketchy guy! According to the submarine expert/engineer that Ace connected to in another thread,
When carbon fiber fails, it shatters. So, yeah. Catastrophic implosion. And almost instantaneous death more than likely. So, that's a mercy. The expert described other scenarios based on the sub's designs short-comings and implosion was definitely the best way to go if dying was the only option. I think most of the VLF comms are based out of Ft. HoochyCoochy in southern Arizona (well that's what we always called it) but if you're driving westbound on I-20 on the south side of DFW, just after you go down the long hill that drops from Dallas to Grand Prairie look to your left and you'll see 6 radio towers, each about 1000 feet tall, set up in a rough hexagon about a half mile across, on the southern horizon. (you can see it better at night because of the lights) That array is said to be able to send and receive messages to properly equipped subs anywhere in the world.

One good volcano can alter weather for years in a very noticeable and dramatic way. Their claims of "climate change" can only be measured by fine precision instruments over decades and copious amounts of data massaging before that input data is fed into a computer model with lots of knobs and switches to manipulate hypothetical conditions on a mere handful of variables. Watching an ABC interview with James Cameron, he says the OceanGate design was similar to another carbon fiber submersible that was being built by a company that was competing with Triton Submersibles of which he has an ownership stake in. He said that the carbon fiber submersible idea was unsuccessful and scrapped due to problems with delimitation. He said that the OceanGate submersible had the same "DNA" as the one that had been scrapped. The submersible that OceanGate was similar to used sensors in the carbon fiber hull to warn them when it was starting to "come apart". Posted by: fd I'm no expert but, when a gas filled structure implodes like that, isn't an enormous amount of heat also generated - (along with the smash everything to itsy bitsy pieces process)? Posted by: Tonypete at June 22, 2023 06:08 PM (q3ANs) Yes. It's the same principle that makes diesel engines work. In the case of this submersible, depending on how and where the implosion initiated, the gas could all escape before being compressed much by the failing structure(s), or some could be trapped and compressed to very high temperature before escaping. For a micro-second in that small volume. I read a paper magazine article long ago postulating that some crewmen in a submarine crushing at maximum crush would burn to death then be crushed. The five may have been crushed or been flash-burned up then their cinders crushed. They'd not have felt anything either way once the implosion collapse began, due to the implosion velocity and the very short internal distance. Worst-case scenario for them would have been visible and/or audible crack-propagation for some amount of time before structural failure. Posted by: Gref at June 22, 2023 07:12 PM (AMIL/) 352
