Dodgers Give Award to Anti-Christian, Catholic-Mocking Fetish Kink Group "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" In Nearly Empty Stadium

They were attempting to get the Satanic group out of the park before the protesters had even packed up their placards.

Oh, and the Dodgers lost that night's game, 15 to 0.

It was a 15-0 shellacking Saturday, but what made the Los Angeles Dodgers even bigger losers in most fans' eyes was how they handled Friday's "Pride Night."
At a pitifully attended pre-game ceremony, the team raced to get a controversial award off its hands before people could come in and boo. While thousands protested outside the gates, management made the telling decision to recognize the LGBT group, Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence, before a virtually empty arena.
As Breitbart's Dylan Gwinn put it, "To say there were more reporters in attendance than fans ... would not be a major exaggeration."
Outside, a sea of people railed against the team's decision to partner with a group that most Americans consider wildly offensive. The Sisters, who get their jollies dressing up like drag nuns and pole dancing on crosses, is apparently the Dodgers' idea of a solid, community-centered "ministry." Despite weeks of ferocious grassroots pushback, the team went forward with the award -- to the outrage of national Catholics.

On Friday afternoon, those faithful turned out in force, creating an interfaith crowd so massive that it temporarily shut down the park's front entrance. One by one, religious, political, and cultural leaders took the rally stage, urging believers to stand their ground.

While the Dodgers went forward with their LGBT fawning, the rest of the league is having second thoughts. After quietly killing player Pride gear this past February, MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred was finally pinned down by reporters at the owners' meeting in New York last Thursday.
Asked whether the league would start "standardizing Pride celebrations" for all franchises, Manfred made it clear that however teams recognize June, they need to leave their players out of it. "We have told teams, in terms of actual uniforms, hats, bases, that we don't think putting logos on them is a good idea just because of the desire to protect players," he told The Washington Post's Chelsea Janes.
At the end of the day, Manfred said, we should not be "putting them in a position of doing something that may make them uncomfortable because of their personal views."
That's a colossal shift from last summer, when players were expected to put up and shut up when it came to the league's LGBT pandering. Now, thanks to the no-Pride tide in the NHL and the consumer backlash upending major brands, other sports are stopping to reconsider their toxic ideology.

I don't know about killing the brand-- Bud Light is still the number two beer brand and, even if people continue to abandon it, it probably will remain top five.

Some clueless imbecile in the team's promotional department invited the freak show without knowing what they were all about. "Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence" doesn't sound overly suspicious. Nobody bothered to do any due diligence because of course they didn't.

After the invitation was public and the outrage exploded, the team then realized who these freaks are. In fact, the team was so horrified that they actually rescinded the invitation, which is something almost nobody ever does.

Of course, rescinding the invitation only caused the usual leftwing suspects and army of fake bots to screech and scream. And since companies fear the left more than the right, the invitation was un-rescinded.

Not enough. It also requires sacrifices - big, important, public sacrifices. And the apology needs to be positively *groveling,* not some fake-ass non-apology like they're all skilled in.

I even had partial Season tickets a couple of years. As has been noted above, Paid Attendance ≠ A$$ In Seat Attendance. Due to the protest, many thousnads of those showing up didn't get to their seats until later in the game (it was barely half-full in the 3rd, from the looks of the video I saw.) In my experience among protestants that I grew up with (at least the ones that care) is that the Catholics don't have the personal relationship with God, but rely on intercession. Not that they are not Christians, but they are missing the point.
Some Protestants were very opposed to Catholicism, but these were mostly the older generation, and a few rabid youngsters who were also considered to be KKK adjacent but that may have been a pose for the kids. This was seen as a traditional thing, and some worried about the influence Catholics might have on their world and local society. Living in the borderlands of the sticks gives a different sort of viewpoint.

Few Protestants I know consider LDS to be a non Christian religion, though a number were concerned about the extra text.
Catholics I lived with in South America were more nonplussed about the whole thing, they had other things to worry about since they had resolved the question. I was very much impressed by them and their attitude with religion and God.

The management team is a bunch of Yankee fans getting their freak on combined with the team of football executives who destroyed the Redskins franchise to such an extent they changed their name. Shame on the Christians ballplayers with big fat union contracts who are too timid to speak up and defend their faith.
