Is Pride Month starting to lose its way?

There have been some notable developments this week with regard to the World of LGBTQ+. I can't include everything here, but you doubtless remember some of them.

I think that maybe the most momentous has been that Men's Health declared that "If You're a Man Attracted to Women, You're a Part of the Gay Rainbow Now, Too."

As far as I can tell, this leaves straight women as the only people outside the LGBTQ+ "Community". Well, maybe some TERF lesbians who won't have sex with women who have penises will also be exiled.

When they said that this movement was about erasing women, they seem to have been right!

Then there's this: Why lesbians should sleep with men. I'm so confused.

The "community" may be blowing through its goodwill

Some of the Armenians, Hispanics and Muslims seem to have had enough.

More on deliberate provocations: The Bible is back on school library shelves in Davis County, Utah.

Addressing the school board, Davis School District's Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning Logan Toone said some have thought the Bible's content was deemed to violate the "bright line" rule.
"That's not accurate," he said.
The review committee found that it was age appropriate for high school only, a decision that was "almost immediately" appealed, he said.
"The reconsideration of the Bible today is not an exception to our policy. It is a direct application of our policy as it's written. It's important to note that because of concerns that would exist if we all of a sudden started to create exceptions for specific books that we like or that align with our personal religious perspectives or something like that," he said.

The original review process included several violations of procedure.

We have had just about all the Indulgence that a civil society can stand. I have lived long and prospered, but I never could have imagined hearing an elected official say that we needed to allow "Room to riot." I never believed that I would see an incurious news-head standing in front of a conflagration and calling it a "mostly peaceful protest."
In the service of the flawed concept of "Equity," racial hucksters noted that ONE group was scoring very high in the commission of crimes. Way back in the early '80s in Oakland, the news-dispensers decreed that they would no longer print or say the race of the perpetrator of crimes. EVEN when they were looking for a perp on the loose! Why? Well, because it might give a "wrong" racist impression. Evidently they couldn't get enough white people to step up to even the stats. And so began the Indulgent Insanity. But even that was not enough to keep folks from getting that "impression."
And it came to pass that if black criminals turn out to be way out of proportion to their numbers in the general population, then the obvious answer is simply to declare that MANY categories of crimes will no longer be crimes! Drugs? Legalize 'em! Shoplifting? Help yourself! Carjacking? You better not even THINK of trying to defend against it. YOU will be the one whose life is ruined. Looting? Bring the kiddies! Don't worry that you are ON CAMERA! Hey, what's a few Huggies and an Air Fryer to The Man? He's got insurance.
Did Society think that turning a blind eye to crime was going to work out well - and especially well for black people? Did people not realize that once you slide down that "Equity" slope, you find yourself on a luge headed for Hell?
What about the abysmal gap in high school graduation rates? Let's just graduate EVERYBODY. Studying is for suckers. Let everybody take exams as many times as it takes - until they "pass." Turning homework in on time, even DOING homework, is so "white" it is in and of itself racist. To get into college, why, we won't have any racist testing at all!

My heart weeps for the Dr. Kings, the Thomas Sowells of this country, and non-genius "regular folks" who just try to raise decent kids, send them to decent schools, enforce a few rules and turn them into men instead of incarcerated or dead losers.
As a Jew, I cannot imagine turning on the television every day and seeing one Jewish gang (The Blood Libels?) vs. another gang (The Crypts?) of promising Jewish young men routinely shooting up weddings, funerals, baby showers, holiday celebrations and each other in truly horrific numbers. Plus a few stray shots into baby carriages, houses with little girls doing homework at a kitchen table, and the like.
At the same time as deviancy is defined downward, and we have decriminalized all but the most egregious crimes for black people -- blowing through a stop sign, going 100 mph, and vaporizing five young ladies is spun by a prominent black woman spokes-disgrace as "a tragic accident" -- we have CRIMINALIZED the most innocent of male sexual advances necessary for the continuation of the species. Lookin' at YOU, #MeToo grifters.
You better not look for over 5 seconds at a female co-worker in some companies. You better not ask for a date more than once if the woman says she "has other plans" the first time. That is STALKING, you toxic male. There are no Statutes of Limitation, no "innocent until proven guilty" on anything a woman accuses you of, unless you are a Hollywood mogul or Democrat. (But I repeat myself.)
Perpetual Indulgence. It doesn't work with raising kids and it doesn't work with preserving any semblance of freedom and justice in a country that has lost its way. It's way past time for a course correction. May the time not be distant.

Soviet Union for example, it took about 70 years. Lots of damage in between. I won't recount all the other examples in history. Point being, these idiots can't help themselves, they always take it too far, and eventually people get tired of their shite.

Yeah, which is why I think this is likely to end badly for Wagner. He's apparently pals with the generals in the Rostov area which is why their troops didn't do much to get in the way, but unless he has some (currently undemonstrated) support in the Russian air force, I think there's an Iraq-style Highway of Death in their future.

Russian media has told civilians to stay off the highway between Rostov and Moscow, which makes that seem doubly likely.

Possibly, but the wild card is that the Russian AF has been largely absent in Ukraine, and they've been sparing in their use of the S-300 and S-400 air defense systems.

My first conclusion is that the Russians know their aircraft suck, and don't want to reveal that to the world. My second conclusion is that while the ADSs also suck, they are somewhat better than the aircraft.

I don't know if Wagner has them, but if they do, the Russkis may be reluctant to have all their planes and helicopters shot out of the sky.

There have been a couple of air strikes on Wagner, and Wagner has shot down a couple of helicopters in return (and a wayward SAM took out a oil storage facility in Voronezh). The RAF has also bombed the roadways to slow Wagner down.

A low level of violence thus far, but it's there.

As I have mentioned before, some years ago we went to the Pittsburg Pride event. During the daylight it was tame, even some really good drag singer acts, after it got dark and all the old lesbian couples went home and the young homo men got drunk, it got ... strange. Unfortunately for us, we were waiting for the headliner act and had to stay until midnight.

Somebody posted an article on San Francisco Reddit about a group of teenagers that suddenly started randomly attacking people on Mission Street, close by City Hall.

There was an extended discussion of this, and although no description was provided of the "youths", it was striking how everyone simply assumed what race they were.

Complete avoidance of racial descriptors did not save the guy who posted the account from being denounced as racist - he protested that he had said nothing about the race of the perps, but simply posting an article about teens attacking random people was assumed to be about one race in particular.

There, spread across my windshield, was the biggest rainbow in the sky I have seen in quite a while. There is a difference between drag queens and trannys.

I've worked with several Filipino boys who were drag queens. They loved being young, gay BOYS. They never wanted to be girls. They just dressed up as queens and did their thing in their part of town in their bars. And were prettier "women" than I could have ever been.

Then there are the truly mentally ill trannys who really believe they can magically change into a woman by wearing a dress and a wig and makeup. My late uncle was gay, and he was not flaming, etc. He was a political conservative, voted for Reagan, etc. He acted like a normal guy most of the time. He had several gay friends, and they sometimes came with him to family get togethers at Christmas, and they were always the life of the party. They were likeable ....to a point. They were also always nice to my Grandmother (my uncle's mother), and she always called them "the boys". She stayed at my uncle's house a few times, and stayed in his bedroom, and felt bad that her son and his "roomate" had to sleep in the other bedroom together. She was kind of naive, to say the least.
This was all over 30 years ago, when people still could be civil in public without being....strange.

I remember the Summer of 1980, and I lived in Ohio. It was nearly a 100 a lot of days here. 1988 was another hot summer. I remember going out the the Highland Days at Oberlin College (before it became a shit hole) with friends to watch the Scottish bands march and play, and it was over 100. And they were wearing heavy wool kilts and kneesocks. Just standing there, they were sweating like crazy.

My belief is, most of the evidence we have for this entire escapade points to Pootin not having fought this war with anything like his full force. That he's been restrained, one would assume, because he never wanted to destroy Ukraine.
