Daniel Perry Indicted for Protecting Women and Children from Violent Lunatic That Alvin Bragg Left Free to Threaten Civilians

Defund New York. Not another penny of federal money.

I want all of the 9/11 spending cancelled. You know that scam is still going on.

Former Marine Daniel Penny has been indicted on a charge of second-degree manslaughter in the chokehold killing of Jordan Neely last month, sources told The Post.

A grand jury sitting in Manhattan reached its decision Wednesday, weeks after Neely's death sparked a national firestorm over Penny's actions and scrutiny over a mental health system that failed the tragic victim.

The 24-year-old, who is free on $100,000 bail, first surrendered himself to cops on May 12 -- nearly two weeks after he laced his arms around the disturbed homeless man's neck during a chaotic confrontation on an F train in Manhattan.

Penny's lawyers have said their client acted in self-defense -- Neely was allegedly yelling, screaming, and threatening other passengers, according to eyewitnesses.

In a series of videos released Sunday, Penny said he wasn't trying to kill Neely when he grabbed him.

But he couldn't sit still while Neely ranted.

"There's a common misconception that Marines don't get scared. We're actually taught one of our core values is courage, and courage is not the absence of fear but how you handle fear," he said.

"I was scared for myself but I looked around there was women and children, he was yelling in their faces saying these threats. I just couldn't sit still."

But the caught-on-camera confrontation quickly went south. Neely struggled, but passed out and died.

...

Neely had a lengthy history of mental illness -- and scores of run-ins with New York's Finest.

...

"I was scared for myself but I looked around there was women and children, he was yelling in their faces saying these threats. I just couldn't sit still," Penny said.
"I was scared for myself but I looked around there was women and children, he was yelling in their faces saying these threats. I just couldn't sit still," Penny said.

During a fiery eulogy last month, the Rev. Al Sharpton told a packed church that "when they choked Jordan, they put their arms around all of us."

Boy I'd sure like to put my arms around you, "Rev."

If Penny is convicted, they get to claim another scalp.

If Penny is acquitted, their BLM goon squads get to run amok.

Either way, Penny's life will never be the same, and everyone will think twice before standing up to one of their deranged foot soldiers.

80 If you have never read "Bonfire of the Vanities" by Tom Wolfe (which was actually pretty funny), there is a ton of satire in it regarding "famous New Yorkers" and among them is Rev. Al Sharpton (pay your backtaxes, Al).

Its a Vuja De thing, this has all happened before, and will happen again. Maybe, if we are real lucky, Spike Lee will make a really stupid movie about it and get everything backwards, and make a ton of money off it. Like Harvey Milk, homosexual predator, is now some kind of hero. That was another movie, see?

I was not in Daniel Penny's head, but at some point, he would have realized that he should have released his chokehold after Neely went limp. Maybe Neely just died immediately. Maybe Penny was so pumped up with adrenaline that he didn't realize it.
But I dunno, I was not there and could be wrong. I feel for the guy, because he was trying to do the right thing.

94 re 77: i'm pretty sure in ny you need at least 12 out of 23 grand jurors to get an indictment, but the defense is allowed to present its side. members of the grand jury can ask questions but the asst district attorney can disallow them (like asking a witness 'why do you think he did it?')

and yes a grand jury can indict you if you take the stand on your own behalf and act like a smart ass.

This is the thing about drugs I get and some don't... you build up a resistance to the effect of one drug, so you add number two and things are great again... until that resistance begins to fade so you add the third drug and my Gawd that's awesome and I'm gonna spread some counterfeit money at the local shop and I'm sure they won't notice and I'll resist arrest because Gawd damnit I'm high as a kite and what the hell could go wrong? I haven't even moved to PA and I'm already sick of PA.

261 Neptune's Inferno is good. Tin Can Sailors is questionable because he got lazy on the research.

The first carrier sunk by naval gunfire was not USS Gambier Bay. That dubious honour rests with HMS Glorious returning from the Norway campaign with a deck cluttered with Gladiators and Hurricanes so the carrier with its two A-class destroyers were sunk by Scharnhorst and Gneisenau.

That's good to know. My dad started the war on the Catchelot, and served on several boats. I grew up hearing about fish boats.

It happens in my city every day. People getting robbed, assaulted, etc, and the pedestrians just walk on by.

Interesting take there.

The victims were on that train, this guy is a boil on society that needed to be lanced.

274 Explaining a death & the reason someone should be charged in that death seems to be disproportionate public donations? I hope not.

newsone com, 4 weeks ago, in part:

"It has been in that context that donations have disproportionately been directed to Penny, whose seemingly reluctant arrest by the NYPD came nearly two weeks after the chokehold killing that a medical examiner determined to be a homicide." "The overwhelming message seemingly being sent by the tale of two fundraisers that that people will be monetarily rewarded by society if they rid the world of the so-called dregs of humanity, even if that means taking the law into their own hands - in this case, quite literally."

NYS appears to spend time on writing about what is planned and ensuring a includes a 5.4 percent COLA to human services providers in FY 2023 but implementation of plans...? See- Mental Hygiene | Briefing Book | NYS FY 2023 Executive Budget

What has the investigation into NY's - in particular NYC's - mental health plan & program revealed, especially in relation to this death?

As an aunt said, "He'd (Neely) do what he wanted to do concerning that, so we couldn't make him."

_____________

HPD said Aron's handler left him in "a running, air-conditioned patrol vehicle, which is a necessary and common practice when the K-9 partner is not actively engaged in police work."

The statement continued, "When Aron's police handler returned to the vehicle, it was discovered that the engine had shut off and Aron was in distress. He was transported to an emergency veterinarian clinic but ultimately succumbed to the heat."

Apparently the K9 patrol cars have all kinds of alarms and emergency fans if the AC fails but for some reason these didn't work.

276 Thank you Hadrian for the info...but I still have to fault the dog's handler. Aren't they supposed to be partners? Don't partners check in with each other frequently to make sure they're OK? Or do we just now depend on government shit to save our partners' lives? I wouldn't.

278 Guadalcanal was where the Navy learned some very bloody lessons starting with First Savo and not ending until November 13, 1942.

Posted by: Anna Puma at June 14, 2023 06:38 PM (F8pUa)

I'd include Tassaforanga (sic?) at the end of November as an ending date. Two cruisers with bows blown off (New Orleans and Minneapolis), one cruiser damaged (Pensacola) and one (Northampton) sunk. By a handful of destroyers. Almost as ignominious as Savo in my opinion.
