Jake Tapper Angrily Demands That CNN's Control Room Stop Airing the News of Trump's Appearance in the Diner

I kept a post up too long because I was waiting for Trump to speak.

It wasn't because I support Trump -- I'm tired of his drama, and want DeSantis to win the nomination. It wasn't because I thought Trump would make new news in a statement. I figured he'd say pretty much the same things he'd written in his "Truths."

But it has been accepted journalistic practice that after a high-profile arrest or arraignment, you air the statement of the accused. The prosecution/the state gets its say, and then the accused gets his own say.

That's fairness, and that's been the uncontested rule for almost all of American history.

Until yesterday, when Fake Jake Tapper -- who fancies himself a Hard News Man -- angrily snapped at CNN's control room that they must stop airing live news so they could get back to the important non-news of Jake and his biased panel (including Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez!) offering their opinions and political beliefs.

Ben Collins of MSNBC/NBC "News" is that organization's Chief Deplatforming Officer. That means, like Oliver Darcy, his "news" beat is finding people who disagree with him online and then petitioning social media companies to censor and deplatform and maybe even de-bank that person.

On Friday, he was, of course, given a "Walter Cronkite Award" for Courage in Cocksuckery or whatever.

He was given this award because "journalists" want to proclaim that this is their job -- not the boring repetition of who said what, but the exalted position of being High Priests of the Cult of "Truth," deciding for the world what is true and what is false, and what is sayable and what is forbidden.

Leftists almost immediately took over all content moderation jobs on the internet, and soon after, began banning everyone who dared to issue a non-leftist opinion.

And leftists really liked that. They really liked their bubbles.

But they've grown angry that they are protected from opinions they don't like only in 95% of media and social media venues. They want this protection extended everywhere, including into the real world.

They are day-by-day extendkng the regime of aggressive, punitive content "moderation" from message boards and social media to the real world, and banning people for saying things in real life that The Regime does not approve of.

And Ben Collins got his "Cronkite Award" because that's his job, and he's viciously eager to do it. Just like a Nazi concentration camp kapo.

Jake Tapper is plainly very enthusiastic about this redefinition of his job, too.

And Oliver Darcy?

Well, Oliver Darcy is special, isn't she?

35 Jake Tapper's reaction on CNN to people showing support for Donald Trump: "The folks in the control room, I don't need to see anymore of that."
++++
When I worked in TV, this would have been a faux pas so extreme that there would have been meetings, disciplinary action and a stern warning about it after the show went off-air.

The on-camera "talent" does *not* dictate the terms of the show. That is handled by the director and the producer. Even for a show like Carlson's where the talent is in charge, once you're on air the control room calls the shots. Unless the control room is fucking up (deviating from the run-down, failing cues, running the wrong packages, etc.), you don't talk to them. If there's something really wrong, you improvise and cut to commercial and then once you're not on the air you can shout it out with the control room.

This is wildly unprofessional and the fact that CNN tolerates this shit is really telling.

The problem with this - not that the journalists will care because it won't matter to them until the revolution comes - is that it creates an intelligence vacuum. When you have a free exchange of ideas, you get to see not only what your allies think but also what your rivals and enemies think. When you suppress everything that is not allied, you don't get to see that. You don't have any way to know what they're thinking, or what their limits are. You fly blind.

Yeah Ron should go on CNN, but not now, it's the start of summer and primaries are 6 months away. Going in TV now just blows your load way too early, plus why would he want to get on TV and get them to stop covering Trump's indictment. From Ron's point of view you need to balance showing how you think thr Trump indictment is bullshit, but also allowing it to play out incase it does hurt Trump.

If he's going to go on, and make some attention grabbing headlines, it's more important in Jan and not Jun. That'll also be the best time to make these host start to also make fools of themselves, as they'll have to decide who they play nicer with, DeSantis or Trump, either of which helps further destroy whatever sliver of credibility they have left.

The only thing you can say and avoid destruction by entrenched D.C. that would denounce our actions in Ukraine would be "We need to get out of Ukraine and start a war with China".

America now exists almost solely as a perpetual war nation. If they stop killing foreigners, the whole system crashes.

Trump taking control of the moment and turning it into video of happy supporters cheering for him, praying with him, and praising him robbed Jake of all that.

92 The biggest reason Trump won in 2016 was his campaign was fun. 2020 was more of a greatest hits/ reunion tour.

That's why (besides the fraud) neither Don or Ron will win in 2024-- they're just not fun.

Yesterday was the closest in a long time to Trump going back to 2016; like the giving rides on his helicopter at the Iowa state fair.

That, more than anything, was why Jake insisted they cut away-- the greatest trick of rhetoric is to attack the image you created of your enemy, not the reality of your enemy.
Trump out having fun, chatting and having a good time with regular people is a deadly counter to the fake super-villian evil hater that no one likes that they tell their viewers he is.

Correct. There is only a pro-Ukrainian war narrative permitted. Anything to the contrary will be confined to dark corners. It's not just Trump. It is RFKJr or anyone like him among Democrats, too.

Tucker nailed it.

To reiterate, the indictment was wargamed and seen as a way to assure catastrophic Republican losses up and down the ticket. If Trump is nominated, he loses enough LIV's to get blown out. If DeSantis or anyone else gets nominated, the base stays out and that person gets blown out. Quite a few elected Republicans like McConnell are fine with that. A larger number are too stupid to realize it.

I keep saying this.
This was part of the 2020 hearings. In Detroit the numbers submitted to the canvasing board do not add up on election night. They are fake and can never be audited.
Precinct captains show up and say "Our guy got 1000 votes. Here are 900 ballots and records showing 800 people voted."
"Welp, this can't be right - I guess we just trust the tally and ignore the evidence, and we can never check since it is impossible unless the numbers submitted add up in the first place."

That is Detroit, and probably every inner city controlled by Dems.

Like the debates, remember when he was ripping on the Clinton and Obama administrations for having all the power and time to fix the tax code and laws so that rich super corps weren't taking advantage of it.

Hillary demanded to know some examples of what he meant about the broken system, and Trump responded "I know its broken because I take advantage of it"

It was 90 degrees off every politician's response, nobody was ready for that level of honesty and insider position. Hillary was completely taken aback.

Trump is a wild card, he's too off the cuff but most of the time it really works and when he's on, he's ON.

From the perspective of the primary, the problem with DeSantis's approach(or rather that of his campaign), is they're too focused on one category. And he's going to end up splitting Conservatives with Trump no matter how much he focuses on it, it's too hard to get brand differentiation there.

They should map the entire field of potential voters and be splitting as much as possible of each group from Trump.

Ben Collin's award acceptable speech was goofy interesting. For example, "Some of them are trying to run a parallel ground war. Some of them are trying to sell cars. So far the plan has worked." What?

And, edited for Twitter, "The next time (YOU'RE IN AN EDITORIAL MEETING AND) someone asks you to couch the truth with a lie pushed by a powerful person, what will you do? Will you help that liar? Or will you fight?" Emphasis added because the spoken & written quote differed. (Listen to the entire acceptance speech.)

"Welp, this can't be right - I guess we just trust the tally and ignore the evidence, and we can never check since it is impossible unless the numbers submitted add up in the first place."

You cut to the heart of it. Threadwinner.

I mentioned this issue when RDS announced, and I remember some moron saying he would give RDS some time to come out with a statement about it. I'm pretty sure RDS hasn't said boo about election integrity since then, so this is all academic shit flinging for the next 18 months.

Posted by: Dworkin Barimen at June 14, 2023 04:41 PM (tcxoK)

417 I think Bernie would have gotten more legitimate votes than Biden did. But Bernie only knows how to grift for himself, and the deep state wants people who can spread the graft around better.

Exactly. They would have elected Josef Mengele's bones with the fraud, who ran was irrelevant. But they couldn't control Bernie.

418 People always leave out the last year of his administration.
Posted by: polynikes

Not leaving it out, just not blaming him as the initiator of the madness, in fact he was fighting for sanity. He was up against everyone and was the only guy saying that we need to look at the costs. He failed, but he did not fail as badly as most.

I also don't blame him for the vaccine since he clearly saw that as a way to stop the madness. In reality, he was tricked into supporting the vaccine big pharma wanted all along.

I was against the lockdowns from the start, but at first I saw the vaccine as hopeful. I liked his strategy of pushing the decisions onto the states, but they all locked down (with him pushing lockdowns - I think to prevent bad coverage before the election.)

So in total he was manipulated and he worried about getting reelected. Two failures but compare that to other Presidents....

Hasn't addressed election integrity. I think he's getting his head all twisted from his advisors and/or money men, kind of like how Tucker mentioned Pompeo worked over Trump. Used a shitty AI-generated fake photo of Trump hugging Fauci. I don't truck with that kind of bullshit.

And, btw, Indian would also like the Kashmir region from Pakistan.

I do note that ALL the old school GOP is coming out against Trump. EVERY SINGLE ONE. And they are all getting major Air Time suddenly.

Right as it is being proven that the FBI and DOJ interfered in the LAST election... with no consequences on the horizon.

428 When I worked in TV, this would have been a faux pas so extreme that there would have been meetings, disciplinary action and a stern warning about it after the show went off-air.

Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at June 14, 2023 03:40 PM (t0OGg)

Yep. My experience has been the same. Over 35 years in the NY broadcast TV business. The news director would sometimes be sitting behind the producer in the control room, but any wild deviation from the run down would result in a very tense meeting immediately following the newscast. I retired three years ago.

434 Yeah, ace. You got ground down by all the constant press. And you internalized it. So now it's Trump's fault that the enemies of America attacked a change agent.

Get ready for fewer change agents. Status quo assured.

435 Trump's wild and unpredictable nature is not simply a drawback, is what I'm saying. Sometimes its a virtue, in a time when everyone is trying to handcuff and silence him.

443 If it's not too late to post, I think what got Trumps maralago residence raided was a comment he made saying... we got em, we got em all.
That got them fearful as to what he had. He has them all worried that their charade will be more exposed than it already is.
I think a trump/rfk Jr ticket would cause much heartburn and angst among our "betters".

More than $15k can be earned online by performing straightforward tasks from home. In the previous month, I got $18376. Even a young child may do this job and make money because it is so simple to complete and has higher pay than typical office occupations. Everyone needs to try this task by using the information on this page. https://Getmoney012.blogspot.com
