THE MORNING RANT: The Satanic Daycare Sex Abuse Panic and the Current Transgender Social Contagion
At American Greatness, John Conlin has written an excellent piece about the daycare sexual abuse hysteria three decades ago, and how the destruction of lives in that panic was similar to the abuses of the transgender social contagion that is going on now. It’s a “read every word of it” article.
The 1980s Satanic Panic and Transgenderism Today [American Greatness – 5/27/2023]In the 1980s what now seems like collective insanity hit this country—false reports of satanic sexual abuse of children in daycare. Some called it the Satanic panic. It took almost 20 years for this insanity to be washed out of our collective system. And it was insane. The following are just some of the claims made during this period: Children were said to have been forced to drink blood, blood-laced Kool-aid, and urine. They also reportedly ate feces and were forced to let animals eat pet food from their vaginas. There were claims they watched people being dismembered with chainsaws. Moreover, rumors of cannibalization and animal mutilation and sacrifice, with body parts used in offerings for Satan were prominent. And of course, there were plenty of stories of watching pornography and sexual abuse of these children. Daycare abuse cases at that time boasted an 85 percent conviction rate, even as the tales of abuse grew increasingly wild. Any rational person must confess this was a society gone insane.Those were modern-day witch trials, and those who dared to question the witch hunts were presumed to be guilty too. The media at all levels fanned the flames of “the crisis.”
The transgender mania that confronts us today is no different. One day society will look back at these times and wonder how such insanity could take root and explode across the country. Chemically mutilating children. Surgically mutilating children. Castrating young boys. Cutting the breasts off young girls. Stripping body parts of skin and muscle to “build” fake penises and vaginas. All because they “believe” they were born in the wrong body. These individuals—the vast majority of whom have never had a single sexual experience—are being mutilated on an altar not that different from the one that dominated the Satanic Panic of years back.If you didn’t “believe all children” during the Satanic Panic you were denying the scientific expertise of those highly credentialed people who knew best about child psychology. On the other hand, children who did not readily offer up outlandish tales to counselors were considered terribly scarred. They were not to be believed – not until they were finally coaxed into identifying someone who abused them.
The similarities are abundant. There was a great deal of social pressure on children—and adults—to validate and confirm these tales, regardless of how outlandish they were. And once committed, there was even more social pressure to continue the charade. Turning around and saying “I made it all up” was not an easy thing to do. And thus, most didn’t. They continued the charade to the detriment of themselves and many of those around them.Something I’ve often thought about during this current mania is that the “experts” now counseling minors on their gender identity are the political-cultural equivalents of the “experts” of 30 years ago who were so successful at getting little children to offer up incredible stories of abuse.
There quickly sprouted an entire industry of therapists, psychologists, psychiatrists, entire government agencies, prosecutors, public schools, doctors and hospitals, pharmaceutical companies, parents, and crazed advocates who pushed this insanity. Most of these with a significant personal interest—both professional and financial—in seeing the insanity continue unabated. Theirs was not an attempt to discover the truth and to identify and help whatever victims there may be but rather to encourage and spread the poison. Their goal was an ever-increasing pile of victims who would only reinforce their burgeoning industry.There was good money in getting children to believe they were sexually abused by devil worshipers, just like there is good money to be made in convincing children that they are trapped in the wrong body.
The Satanic panic created the “Believe the Children” movement. No matter how insane and improbable the claims—and read that list from above, it was insane—their stories must be believed. This is fully mimicked in the supposed explosion of transgender children. Help them mutilate themselves—with abundant coaching from the industry—or they will commit suicide and the blood will be on your hands.Even better for the ghouls profiting off the transgender fad, it’s like a subscription service that can never be stopped for their victims. Once those children are mutilated, they’ll need medical upkeep the rest of their lives to keep their bodies functioning.
On the transgender front, these kids are forever cash cows as they will be taking expensive drugs—and probably using mental health services—for the rest of their lives.Repressed Memory Therapy exploded on the scene not long before the daycare panic, and those social contagions were closely correlated. Persuading impressionable people to create false memories of abuse is little different than persuading a receptive person that s/he has the wrong sexual anatomy.
The Repressed Memory Therapy Movement drove a lot of the Satanic panic. The therapists, in effect, would convince the children these insane things had been done to them—even though prior to the “therapy” they had had no memory of these activities. The transgender movement is the same. Here the therapists convince temporarily confused kids—and what adolescent isn’t at least a little confused—that they were born in the wrong body but they can change that and become a totally new, wonderful, and special person just by taking massive amounts of hormones and going under the knife.Back when the daycare panic was subsiding by the mid-90s, and prosecutors started to drop outrageous charges due to lack of any actual evidence, I noticed something odd. Many parents who should have been relieved that there was not satanic sexual abuse happening at their neighborhood daycare were instead outraged that their child wouldn’t be the star victim in a highly publicized trial. The behavior of those parents then is similar to the Munchausen Mommies pushing their children into transgenderism.
I will bet any amount of money that the vast majority of the young children who are discovered to be “transgender” have a mother who has mental health issues. And one who takes great pleasure in the tremendous social accolades that will be bestowed to her. But society has a duty to protect these children from this life-altering insanity. Unlike the Satanic panic of the ’80s, let’s not wait 20 years before coming to our senses. Yes, despite how preposterous it became. "I was made to witness the ritual sacrifice of children who were then buried in the basement" isn't credible when there are no missing persons reports filed and no bodies found in the cellar. Yet it was a full-on panic.

It's very different. It is, in fact, a polar opposite situation. Not in the final "future generations will look back with horror" sense (that is true), but in terms of what it actually *is.*
The "Day Care Satanists" stuff were things that didn't really happen but the press went nuts loudly screaming about how much it was happening, and excoriated and humiliated anyone who said, "uhhh, guys, this doesn't make sense."
The modern "trans the kids" stuff is different in that it *is* actually happening but the press goes nuts, loudly screaming about how much it isn't happening and then they excoriate, humiliate and unperson anyone who says, "uhhhh, guys, this is wrong."

That much is similar, yes - but only in essence and not in scale. The "Day Care Satanists" stuff was only ever niche and not that many people (other than press whores) really got in on the action. The "trans the kids" stuff is pervasive at all levels.

I've been disappointed that outside of some tepid efforts in FL none of the red states has struck back in any way.
Ban EVs, put punitive taxes on imported solar panels, put tranny-groomers on the sex offender registry, etc.

In fairness, not all the reports were false. Yes, the outrageous and impossible claims were. But as you would probably expect, these impossible claims sprung from much more mundane allegations of child abuse that were probably true.
Take the McMartin case, probably the most famous one. They were certainly not guilty of the truly ludicrous conduct they were accused of. But the kid at the center of it all (Ray, IIRC) probably was guilty of exposing himself to minors and possibly even molesting them. We will never know the truth.
And yes, the history of the case and the parents' reaction were just as described above: rather than be relieved their kids weren't abused, most of the parents wouldn't give it up no matter how much evidence there was to the contrary. Decades later, the parents were still paying money to "experts" and to excavate under the school to find the secret tunnels and caves they were sure existed.

1. It's a way for teenagers to shock their parents. Used to be things like getting a nose ring or dying your hair purple. Or even being gay. But that's meh nowadays. Come home with purple hair and announce you're gay and your parents will say that's nice honey, how was school? So kids need to up the ante and declaring yourself to be in the wrong body and needing surgery to chop your dick off, gets mom and dad's attention

I did a lot of research on this case as part of victims-rights pro bono work. From what I can tell, Ray was a weirdo and possibly (probably?) was guilty of molesting at least one of the kids.

An interesting thing is going on in Oregon.
The Republicans have walked out of the legislature, denying it a quorum, which has blocked the Democrats entire legislative agenda.
The Republicans have offered to return to the legislature if two bills are dropped - a clearly unconstitutional gun control measure, and a bill that would allow children to be mutilated without parental consent (14 year olds and older, I believe).
Needless to say, the Democrats would rather tank their entire legislative agenda than drop those two bills.
The Democrats are vague about these bills, needless to say, because if they admitted that they want to be able to surgically mutilate children without their parents' consent, that probably doesn't poll very well.

There was a case in East Texas back in the day that checked off all the buttons of an insane panic. First, the allegations came from social workers who convinced children to make the claims -no actual physical evidence. Then someone from outside the area was hired to be prosecutor (aka the Witchsmeller Pursuivant) Next, this Prosecutor became frustrated that he couldn't find any evidence, so he filed charges against the original investigating officers for hiding evidence from him. Not long after that, someone with sense finally intervened and the whole effort collapsed, although with several lives and reputations wrecked.

It's one hell of an demented experiment to see what effect a decade of hormone therapy is going have on biological female ovaries. My guess is they'll be married to cancer. Every single one.

This is just a 'by the way' sort of comment. But testicular cancer is a 'thing' for males up to the age of 30. After that, it is pretty much rare. Obviously testosterone has something to do with those who get it and those who don't.

There some very interesting videos one can find if you want to deep dive into it; the mummies, and the culture that left them, is surprisingly old, as some of them have been carbon dated from about 3800 years ago. The incredibly dry conditions preserved the bodies even better than the Egyptians did, and on one an obvious plaid pattern can be seen, very similar to later Celtic clothing. They're believed to have been a branch of Indo-Europeans who moved east instead of west at the time they were spreading out from their ancestral homelands, similar to the groups that later became Medes and Persians.

That McMartin day care center was on Manhattan Beach Blvd. We used to take our poodle to a vet's right across the street. I would see the kids using the playground equipment which was located in front of the building. They all seemed happy and normal. It was truly shocking when the allegations started.

I thank God that my kids went to school in a saner time. They had an excellent education from a school that actually taught the Constitution and had a great mix of academics, art, and athletics. Their school district also had all students K-12 in school uniforms which was great.
Kids now more than ever need a very strong family at home and so many don't have that.

They were miserable, and spent their waking hours trying to ensure they received exactly the same "gifts", time, allowance, etc as wife 1, who was abusive to them. And all the previous wives would treat wife 4 like dirt because she was always the favorite, being younger. And all of them were terrified of the husband pronouncing divorce and sending them back to their families. One was American, and she regretted moving there, but stayed for her children. She could leave, but they couldn't.

Almost all the people doing that are not the more capable good workers upset with bad workers. Its bad workers upset that they aren't getting paid as much as the CEO and those jerks expect them to actually work their full shift and show up on time.

So, obviously if I do this I have to change my voting registration. Anyway, spouse said, "Go ahead if you want to" and I am praying about it.
I just think it's hilarious that they couldn't find anyone else so they asked me. I can't possibly get a big head about this.
