Though each time sales drop, that 20-30% fall means less and less, as the numbers keep falling from a lower and lower baseline.

I don't read the numbers the same way. It looks like all the "drops" have been YoY numbers relative to the same one week period last year. So -29% for week ending on May 20 isn't compounded with all previously weekly drops. It's still trending down though.

Meanwhile, Dylan Mulvaney, who has been a flamboyantly gay man before deciding he was now a "girl," says he's all done being gay and now he's totally into chicks.

I thought it was impossible to change your sexual orientation -- Born That Way and all.

But I guess he's thinking that now that he's a "girl," if he wants to stay "gay," he'll have to start doing what most men of his gender do, which is liking girls.

Here he admits that he's spent the last ten years coming out as "gay, and then queer, and then non-binary, and then trans," so his claim that he's a "little bit romantically interested in women" comes at some surprise to his parents.

Why it's almost as if this talentless deadeyed clout-chaser has nothing to offer the world except for new Storylines, which are always about his always-evolving Sexual Identity.

So will this Storyline continue? I doubt it. It's just another attempt at a Viral Moment; he claims his parents told him "I would love for you to get a woman pregnant" (very natural dialogue there, Dylan), and Dylan responded, "Oh no, she would be getting me pregnant!" (very accurate biology there, Dylan).

"It would satisfy our glands and have fulsome hedonic value if you generated a miniature replica of yourself," his parental units jointly screamed in this very real conversation that definitely happened and is not just some kind of reverse-Norman Rockwell nightmarescape.

A Chicago daycare worker was charged with first degree murder after allegedly beating a woman with a baseball bat and dumping her body in the alley behind his home.
The medical examiner found that the victim sustained over 100 injuries to her face, head, and scalp, CWB reported. During the suspect, Ariel Smith's, bail hearing on Tuesday, Assistant State's Attorney Anne McCord said the medical examiner had "never seen so many injuries on someone's body."

Oakland residents say that they're sick of the crime and wondering how it got so out of control.

About 200 residents gathered in north Oakland last night to express their frustration with city officials about rising crime. Robberies are up 22% compared to last year and recently the area had 100 robberies reported in a single week, fifty of those happened in a single weekend. Within the first five minutes of a raucous community safety meeting Tuesday night in North Oakland, residents vented frustrations and fear over a recent crime spike -- and their perception that city leaders are doing little to address it.
Over the two hours that followed, a crowd of roughly 200 gathered at Oakland Technical High School confronted a panel of city officials, the interaction ranging from volcanic heckling to stunned silence. A woman stood and delivered a wrenching personal story about being beaten in front of her house. The owner of a pizzeria said his employees had been held up at gunpoint four times in six years. One person called the city a "failed progressive utopia."
Others described deteriorating street conditions and predicted that businesses would leave -- a San Francisco "doom loop" that had migrated across the bridge.

A male transgender identified himself as a far left activist, but opined that things had gone too far.

"This isn't just about entrenched political camps," said a transgender woman who described how she and her partner had only recently begun looking at NextDoor and the Citizen app after being robbed twice, both in daylight hours, over just two weeks in Oakland...
[He] acknowledged that violence often comes from a place of hurt but said she also believed that letting people commit crimes repeatedly is its own form of harm.
"It actually does mess you up more to keep attacking people," [he] said. "You can't let kids just go back out there."

Sexton comments:

[He's] saying that it's better for the perpetrators to be locked up at a certain point than to allow them to continue to commit crimes, thereby doing harm to themselves. That's the most progressive, bass-ackward argument for putting people in jail I've ever heard but who cares. The point is that a conservative is just progressive who has been mugged. If [he] gets mugged a couple more times [he'll] stop worrying about the offenders and start worrying about herself and everyone else.

Trump was confused by the name in that debate. Like everything else the Left does, the name sounds like the opposite of what it is. He ran specifically and repeatedly on getting rid of ObamaCare for private solutions and then followed through and tried to do it.

The easiest difference to spot is the music. Goths are more into Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Banshees, The Cure.

We don't pretend that gay marriage was legalized when the 14th amendment was passed (or the Constitution originally, it's kind of ambiguous what Obergefell hinges on), so it is appropriate to date the practice to when it was introduced.

They pivoted pretty well the fifth season when they had to kill the Haitian Guy early because apparently he was bored and wanted off the show.

I have low confidence simply because Justified was lightning in a bottle and it's unlikely they re-recreate that.

thank you for defining what I meant by "current law". What's significant about it is that every court in the US is bound to respect that definition. If I'm not mistaken this has come up in argument here plenty of times, but there really isn't any way around the simple point that granting citizenship to the children of foreign invaders simply because they're here is completely absurd. It's every bit as absurd as claiming those invaders should be counted to apportion seats - which is also happening.

It's not hard to make a good faith argument about those here on some manner of work or indefinite visa, but illegals? Fuck no.

I had a NA professor once who went on a tangent about how most reservations aren't independent nations at all because the FedGov only lets them make their own decisions as long as the FedGov approves of their decisions. According to him, the FedGov is more up NA tribes' butts than they are up farmer's butts.

Strictly the legislature instructing the bureaucracy to interpret an Amendment in a certain way isn't really different from the bureaucracy doing so independently or under the directive of the Presidency.

Ordinary legislation to define the meaning of an Amendment seems as dubious as the SCOTUS doing so. Technically none of these are really appropriate when things are ambiguous.

I think it's obvious that we really need to amend the constitution; but the amendment process is so broken that nobody believes that's possible anymore, so we're casting around trying to think of some way the situation could be addressed. Kind of gives me a bit of hope.
