Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Cost of Foxweiser's Firing of Tucker Carlson: One Million Viewers Every NightAccording to Mediaite, examining the ratings of Fox News primetime shows an average loss of one million viewers per night since firing Tucker Carlson on April 24. Epoch Times provides the numbers.Yid With Lid points out that advertisers don't pay based on whether you're number one or two or five or fifty. They pay based on number of viewers. He also points out that most advertising space is sold with a guarantee of the minimum number of viewers that will see the ad. If that guaranteed level is not met, the network has to give the advertiser what I think are called "make-ups" -- free ads to make up for the failure to meet the guaranteed number of viewers for the paid ad. And obviously, if that ad time slot is being given away for free as a make-up, it can't be sold. Yid also links this: Related: A couple of weeks ago I guessed that when Megyn Kelly was talking about "slashies," she meant this kind of make-up advertising. I was wrong. She later said that when a program is so low-rated that its actual rating cannot be established -- like when it's below 0.1, maybe -- its ratings are listed as two slashes. //, I guess. Thus, "slashies" means an especially low-rated show. I think she referred to Chris Wallace as someone whose ratings are "slashies." Is his show literally in the "slashies" range or was she just exaggerating? I'm not sure, but it seems possible his ratings are indeed too low to measure. New timeslot, same outcome. CNN's attempt to move Chris Wallace to a new timeslot to garnish viewers failed as his latest Friday night ratings came in dead last among his competitors, RadarOnline.com has learned.I think Chris Licht is going to be fired. I think that because even a craven, cringing Soyboy Beta Cvck like Oliver Darcy doesn't seem to fear Chris Licht. This old article, from March 13th, predicted that Licht would be gone by Labor Day. I think that's even more likely now. Well, he is. You're leftwing zealots who #Resist his modest efforts to move CNN away from being #ResistanceMedia, and you leak negatively about him to get him fired. ... "He hates the job and can't do it," added another CNN insider, claiming the "consensus at CNN HQ" is that Licht's "days are already numbered." Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

In the four weeks before Carlson left the network, Fox News' primetime hours averaged some 2.6 million total viewers. But in the four weeks after his departure, those hours are down to just 1.6 million viewers.
++++ A million viewers. Sounds like a lot. It is a lot. But it's the relative size that gets you. 38.5% of Fox's viewers walked away. Makes Tranheuser-Busch's problems look downright manageable by comparison. Posted by: Joe Mannix (Not a cop!) at May 30, 2023 02:20 PM (DU+/6) 10

11 As far as I can tell, Chris Wallace's new show consists of tracking down some long forgotten boomers who had a brief moment of fame 50 years ago and then having a long conversation with them about the state of their dentures, and what type of bran they eat now.
don't know it isn't a big hit. Posted by: Tom Servo at May 30, 2023 02:21 PM (i9ffA) Jen Psaki's show on MSNBC is similar.

Yeah, I haven't watched Fox (or any cable news) in forever.
It's highly amusing that the left is always sneering about "Fox News" and "The NRA", when no one on our team has any real use for either of them. The "no on-air mention" thing reminds me of a story about W.C. Fields. At one time, he was having a dispute with the sponsor of his radio show, which was a cigarette brand. While the dispute was going on, Fields would go out of his way to talk about his "nephew", "Chester Fields". For those who aren't 29 years old, Chesterfield was another popular brand of cigarette. Thus, you are no longer a news channel. If there are any topics of news you are PROHIBITED from covering, you're not a news channel. You're propaganda. > This probably holds true for a lot of collectible items. Selling to a dealer is easy, but you won't often get top price for that because they, in turn, want to sell it at a premium to another customer.
Yep, and unfortunately that's why your guns are going to be sold for much less than you paid for them. Your widow isn't going to go through all the trouble to find a proper buyer. Putin has already said that he's done selling to Europe going forward. Private sales are the only way to get any real money for your guns. I've sold a couple noteworthy guns.
Never again. I've stupidly sold guns that I should have never sold, but at the time were a dime a dozen. Colt Python 6" Nickel plated. Two Ruger Vaqueros. A Taurus CIA 6 shot .357. They quit making them before I could ever replace them. Posted by: rickb223 at May 30, 2023 03:18 PM (P63V5) 316

While Mermaid opened okay in the US, but under $100M, it got clobbered overseas and now it's 50-50 if it breaks even theatrically or needs to wait for after theatrical to profit - which is probably $500M in ticket value lost on one movie that Disney was not expecting...

I looked up Rogan's viewership, and got a Time magazine article saying he gets on average over 11 million listeners per episode.
That's listeners, not viewers. Or is it viewers? I have Spotify for Windows on my laptop, and have never used it to view a Rogan episode. YouTube is the only place I have "watched" an episode, and on YT, I've only seen the clips. Can TuCa get that kind of viewer or listener audience? I looked up what NBC gets for their evening news show, and it is up near 7 million. But then there is ABC and CBS, with shows on at the same time. CBS gets around 5 mil. ABC gets around 8 mil. Add them up and you have 20 million eyes on network propaganda uniparty woke news each weekday evening. Can TuCa come close? Or be bigger? Posted by: Mr Gaga at May 30, 2023 03:37 PM (KiBMU) 348
