Poll: Biden Is the Most Unpopular " " " President " " " in American History

True story. My word as a Biden.

A new poll revealing President Joe Biden's shocking low approval numbers leaves CNN in disbelief-- causing the liberal network to admit the Democratic Party is in trouble.

A Washington Post/ABC News poll found that Biden is sinking in the polls, sounding alarms that he may not be able to recover from his disastrous decisions before the 2024 election.

"In the first real snapshot, if you will, of President Biden's standing since his reelection announcement, voters are saying he has real work to do," CNN host Kate Bolduan said. "And that's even among his own party."

The poll found that 58 percent of Democrats and Democratic-leaning independents say they want their party to nominate someone else.

In addition, Biden's approval rating remains at a historic low of 36 percent.

"Biden's overall approval rating remains underwater," Bolduan added. "That's the lowest for any American president at this point in their first term. That's dating back to Harry Truman."

...

"One of the concerns that voters have expressed has to do with his mental sharpness," Saenz said. "If you look at this poll, only 32 percent of voters said that the president, who is 80 years old, has the mental sharpness to serve effectively."

Another poll, this one from AP, has Biden at a still-weak 40%, with especially low marks on the economy, guns, the border, and the ability to speak English.

As President Joe Biden embarks on his reelection campaign, just 33% of American adults say they approve of his handling of the economy and only 24% say national economic conditions are in good shape, according to a new poll from The Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research.

Public approval of Biden's handling of the economy remains low in a time of high inflation, a difficult housing market and concerns about a potential U.S. government debt default. American opinion is also gloomy about Biden's efforts on gun policy and immigration, with only 31% saying they approve of the president's performance on those hot button issues. Overall, 40% say they approve of the way Biden is doing his job, similar to where his approval rating has stood for much of the past year and a half.

...

Even among Democrats, the poll finds only about half approve of his handling of immigration and gun policy.

...

Biden underperforms on the economy even among Democrats: 61% approve of him on the issue, compared with 75% for his job overall. Democrats feel even more dour about the current condition of the nation's economy, though they continue to be more likely than Republicans to say the country is headed in the right direction (36% vs. 7%) or to rate the economy as good (41% vs. 7%).

Gallup also finds that Americans are pessimistic about the economy.

Roughly two in five Americans are still struggling to make ends meet, new federal data has shown - more than the amount seen in the aftermath of the Covid-19 pandemic.

The revelation comes from the Census Bureau's latest household survey, released Wednesday, which shows some 38.5 percent of adults - or 89.1 million people - experienced difficulty paying their bills between April 26 and May 8.

The number is up from a year ago, when 34.4 percent of Americans reported they were undergoing budget crunches and comes as a near-50 percent increase from the 26.7 percent recorded in 2021.

bidengrinningidiotinflation.jpg

60% of voters don't think that Biden will even survive to see the year 2028.

Personally, I think their math is off. Way off, Jerry!

A majority of Americans believe President Joe Biden doesn't have the ability to make it through a second term, according to a poll released Sunday.

Sixty-one percent of Americans said Vice President Kamala Harris would end up taking over for Biden if he won a second term, according to a Harvard Caps/Harris poll.

The number was higher among Republicans, with 82% saying Biden wouldn't make it through the presidency. Thirty-five percent of Democrats believed Biden would not be able to serve a full term.

...

Americans also expressed doubts about Biden's mental capacity in general.

Fifty-seven percent of Americans said they had doubts about his mental fitness, and 65% said Biden is showing he's too old for office.

Biden has publicly addressed concerns about his mental health but has refused to take a mental acuity test, despite Nikki Haley and Donald Trump calling on him to do so.

Meanwhile, Biden is driving us towards a default on our debt, and also claiming he'll abrogate Congress' power of the purse.

President Joe Biden and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy met Monday to discuss the debt limit amid the looming default deadline, but did not reach an agreement.

McCarthy said he and Biden had a "productive" meeting and may have to meet "everyday" to come to a consensus on the debt limit and spending cuts.

Biden and Congressional leaders have just 10 days to reach an agreement before the predicted June 1 default. The president has met twice with all the leadership team including McCarthy, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, and discussions have been ongoing with staff from both branches of government since Tuesday.

Biden returned from his trip to Asia early Sunday, postponing his preplanned trips to Australia and Papua New Guinea, to resume the talks in person. McCarthy has also said the House may have a shorter recess to vote on the debt limit next week, if needed.

Oh no -- not a shorter recess for Congress!

It is very possible Biden is intentionally tanking the economy, which is already going over a cliff. If the economy just goes over the cliff, it's obviously his fault. But if he can also tank it by causing a meltdown in the bond markets, he can claim the Republicans are to blame.

David Strom catches Politico's Jonathan Lemire claiming Biden has done everything possible to achieve a compromise with Republicans on the debt limit.

Jonathan Lemire
@JonLemire

The U.S. stands on the precipice of financial calamity, testing whether President Biden's theory of governance can continue to work

He has prioritized deal-making throughout the debt ceiling talks. But with GOP obstinate, Biden is changing tactics

Alas, he has to ignore headlines like these, from no lesser Regime propaganda unit the AP, to make this incandescently- false claim.

nomeetingondebtlimit.jpg

nonegotiationsondebtlimit.jpg

Strom writes:

Lemire maintains that Biden has been a patient dealmaker over the debt ceiling, but Republicans have been intransigent and unwilling to come to the table to discuss the debt ceiling. Biden is a brilliant dealmaker, but those dastardly Republicans are so extreme that they won't even sit down to talk to the president.

Uh, yeah, Whatever. When you start your analysis with the claim that Biden is a dealmaker, you pretty much outed yourself as Karine Jean-Pierre, one of the least honest people in Washington. Lemire is vying for the title. He may actually deserve it. Pierre, after all, is paid to lie. Lemire claims he is paid to tell the truth.

Biden wouldn't sit down to meet with McCarthy over the debt limit. He refused again and again, and the MSM and the Democrats repeated the mantra that the Republicans had no plan and must give in to the demands of the president. Biden openly refused to even consider any kind of "dealmaking," as he has on everything else. He is currently talking about unconstitutionally ignoring the law and simply keep spending money and borrowing without congressional approval--the so-called 14th Amendment option.

That is not what POLITICO wants us to believe. They demand we accept The Big Lie that Biden is the compromiser. In fact, the Republicans are the only ones who have a plan on the table, already passed out of the House. It is pretty modest in its demands, too. Not that you would know it from the coverage.

The media claims Donald Trump is the most dishonest person in history.

Consider the source-- the media's just miffed that they have competition in constantly lying.

HBOMax turned into Max yesterday, with the latest Shazam! movie as an attention getter.

"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" was okay. Not as good as the first.

The main problem was Billy Batson/Shazam was the sidekick in his own movie to The Diversity Shazam Fun Squad. So, they needed Shazam to act like a retard so he'd have something to do until saving the world.

Not terrible, not great, mediocre- just a good example of why superhero movies are starting to fail.

Helen Mirren was in the movie as a bad guy. She's had plastic surgery and now sports 44DDs and fish lips.*
So, was Lucy Lui. She looks good for her age.

Movie rated Meh for see it if you wish. Or don't.

86 Somewhat related note on McCarthy. Met with a high ranking GS executive the other day, he was of the belief that McCarthy was required to play hardball due to "fringe Republicans"(which meant that Biden would have to give up more). I recall there was a post once about a theory that McCarthy's position allowed him to push more right-wing policies.

Either way, apparently bigwigs see McCarthy as being forced to do what the "fringe" wants.

153 149 145 C'mon, this isn't your first day. A "meltdown" in the bond markets would demand an interest rate rise, and that would collapse the banking system. Some of America's biggest banks have already failed under much less strenuous circumstances. It would be a terrible idea under almost all circumstances, let alone as a way to edge out a news cycle.

Posted by: ... at May 24, 2023 12:20 PM (WZk8x)

They've got to give the propagandist in the media the least to work with. Yeah they should refuse to meet with Biden, and they should demand he prove his head isn't just filled with two dead gerbils, but then that gives them more ammo to put out stuff about Republicans being obstructionist and them abusing an old man and hurting the office of the presidency.

We don't like it, and yeah it's complete bullshit, but Republicans are held to different standards, and every little thing will be used against them no matter how untrue, and unfortunately it'll work because a large chunk of the country is behind stupid and believes everything thr media tells them.

Anyone over the age of 29 who knows about Biden as a Senator know what a lying, grifting, pile of garbage he is. Now, you can add mental decline on to his other horrible qualities. Yet, voters still voted for him as a Senator and now we see with the media, and the Deep State, how he became POTUS.

I firmly believe that a huge leap to rectify all that is wrong with our political systems is term limits. I believe that if there were a national referendum, the American people would vote overwhelmingly for this. That is, if you can keep the deep state out of the voting systems.

I think it will go the way it always goes. There is a lot of caterwauling on both sides. The limit is reached. Treasury plays little tricks to keep the finances moving for another week or two and a bunch of deadweight federal employees are furloughed. There is more caterwauling. The "two sides" work out a deal that delivers everything the Uniparty wants. Both sides simultaneously claim both victory and defeat. The furloughed employees are given back pay. Nothing is fixed. 5x match.

Honestly, think about the Hunter hubris and some of the crazy, crazy things happening (can you say men in khakis with tiki torches as a huge conservative threat? Nazi flags on a road from a guy from India? The dictates Biden has signed from his throne? The aggressive legal take Hunter is executing rather than trying to stay out of the limelight? The Whitehouse advisors told him not to do that, and he is anyway.). You can't make serious cuts to the budget that make a shit of financial difference unless you drastically cut welfare, SS, and the military.

You could eliminate 25 departments and while I'm all for that, it would do very little to directly impact the budget.

Yes, and here is how that turned out:

"When congressional appropriators wrote 2014 war funding into law they added an additional $10.8 billion of non-war funding – widely referred to as a slush fund – to the budget, as Winslow Wheeler of the Project on Government Oversight has shown.

In total, these reductions and adjustments reduced the 2014 defense sequester down to 0.6 percent of projected pre-sequester spending"

And, here is how that all ended:
"Congress passes legislation relaxing BCA caps by equal amounts for both defense and non-defense spending through September 30, 2015. Increases in allowable spending are offset by additional cuts to Medicare providers, higher fees on airline tickets, and increases in required contributions by federal workers to their pensions."

Then whenever Trump said his campaign was spied on (it was), they would add another dozen to the total "lie" count.

The vast majority of interactions between the populace and government is local government. The federal government is simply not a day to day concern for most people in terms of looking around and seeing how it concerns them.

Shutting down the feds doesn't affect transfer payments at all, so they have to make a show for most of the country if the fed gets shut down.

356 SCOTUS has previously ruled on the 14th amendment debt clause in 1935, Perry v. United States. "The powers conferred upon the Congress are harmonious … Having this power to authorize the issue of definite obligations for the payment of money borrowed, the Congress has not been vested with authority to alter or destroy those obligations."

Unfortunately, the current SC does not respect stare decisis as they have demonstrated.

Indeed, which is why Biden must be willing to trigger a much needed constitutional crisis by ignoring any SCOTUS ruling that says congress has the power to trigger a default on the debt.

Per Olbermann - Biden currently has the hammer. For a refreshing change of Democratic pace - USE IT!

The concern about our corrupt SCOTUS ignoring precedent
should incentivize Biden
to throw down the gauntlet and challenge SCOTUS to do the right thing or shame itself in history as a pathetic, corrupt, partisan, authoritarian, and politically servile institution.

“With Nancy leading the way, you never had to worry about whether the bill would pass. If she said she had the votes, she had the votes every time,” Biden continued. “She had to vote so many life-changing pieces of legislation. She helped rescue the economy in the Great Depression; pass the Affordable Care Act; ended Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell.”

Sooner than that if Biden decides to YOLO it and have Treasury issue bonds despite the debt limit. Treasury can do that, but there will serious questions as to whether those bonds were legally authorized and therefore covered by the 14th Amendment. The market *will* extract a risk premium for that, and probably a significant one.

401 I thought this worth reposting:
The 14th Amendment Gambit is a ruse that was never going to happen.

When Treasury sells debt it holds an auction with a stable of large banks. The winning bidders buy the debt and resell into the broader market. Huge bucks involved with thin spreads.

The risk management/ legal teams at these banks will never let the bank be a buyer in the billions if there's any doubt about the legal authorization for the paper being bought. And there's the huge risk of the market not buying tainted new paper when there's trillions of untainted paper as an alternative.

The 14th Amendment Gambit is being used to fill the dead air of Biden not negotiating. They'll change up soon and move to shutting down the government. In the end, many federal employees will get a paid holiday.

419 Now I'll explain all of this 14th amendment BS. What Biden plans is illegal.

What would be arguably legal is continued servicing of the debt, and the minimum amount of government employees stay at work to do so, however all "voluntary" payments by the government that could be avoided, social security, Medicare, other programs, and any employees where an employment contract that does not include a potential for furlough, (that would be pretty much the military alone) would have to be furloughed until expenditures were inline with income, or all possible voluntary payments have been eliminated.

Continuing to spend according to budget and ignoring the debt ceiling is beyond any conceivable legal understanding on the 14th amendment.

Default is very high-risk because of just how much Treasury bills are used as a cash equivalent and lubricant. Tremendous amounts of stuff is priced against USTs. Huge amounts of money are stored in USTs. A default of any kind would seriously fuck up capital markets. A major default would detonate them.

That doesn't mean it can't happen, and it doesn't mean that the government won't gamble about it, but it would not be simply that those holding the paper (which is everyone) get anally sexed without lubricant.

446 What Biden plans is illegal.

Does that matter?

Americans are peculiarly disinterested in the law, unless some personal advantage or disadvantage is at stake. It's tolerance for lawlessness in service to political aims they support, or are at least ambivalent about, is pretty wide.

It takes the federal courts forever and a day to do much of anything, particularly at the appellate level, and the supreme court's docket is discretionary, so it can just decide not to hear an issue altogether.

So saying "by gum, this is illegal" is about as meaningful as exclaiming, "my word, I don't think any of this complies with Robert's Rules of Order."

448 Isn't the whole thing with any anti-Christ that most of the world will gleefully celebrate him as the second coming of the real Christ, while a handful of people recognize the sham and say "No", but all the people who say "No" get murdered and tortured by the masses for standing against this fake "Lord"?

I don't know. It's been a while since I've read any Revelation.

"Antichrist" isn't directly mentioned in Revelation. There's a "spirit of antichrist" mentioned elsewhere that basically motivates people to deny that Jesus was who He said He was, which is already in the world. In Revelation, there are a couple Beasts, and a man of lawlessness who is probably the physical embodiment of the spirit of antichrist, and eventually proclaims himself above all things called "god".

I have no doubt the assorted churches of the rainbow flag will claim him as Christ returned, but I'm not so sure he'll say so.

If Marzulli (and others) are right and the great deception involves "aliens", it's likely they'll claim to have created us and started all our religions (the latter being mostly true), in which case it wouldn't be surprising to see a couple claiming to be OT God and NT Christ.

450 It's amazing how many of y'all say the shit y'all are saying about Desantis while Trump did everything that Fauci told him to, and never challenged him.

If we vote for Desantis, he might against all odds be President.

But we voted for Trump, and he won, and he still wasn't President, and can't even figure out that he wasn't.

453 Trump challenged Fauci as early as March 2020. It's a matter of record. Trump has legit flaws, why make up shit

454 Trump hated Fauci but was THREATENED by his own party that he could not FIRE the bastard.

Trump tried to undermine the little bastard as much as possible but YOU the peole were putting the. Bastard on covers , standing O’s at baseball games, he was on EVERY freaking TV in America, declaring himself as “Science”, the entire world hung on every losing word out of the pigs mouth

It was Pence, the traitor who was in charge of the task force who undermined Ed Trump amd went along with the lies Fauci told Trump

Trump is a business man ,not a scientist, he tried to get therapeutic s like ivermectin in use at look what they did to that drug, a drug that has saved millions of lives, won the Nobel prize and made it out to be gummy bears laced with poison. Then they went after any Dr who tried to write a script for it.

He tried
