DeSantis to Announce Tomorrow Night at 6PM, in a Twitter Interview with Elon Musk

Bill Melugin
@BillMelugin_

BREAKING: @FoxNews confirms Florida Governor @RonDeSantis will announce his 2024 Presidential run tomorrow night, 6pm ET in a Twitter Spaces interview with @elonmusk.

I know this is just an update to yesterday's post so I won't leave it as the top post for long. Thought it was worth mentioning, though.

But can anyone beat this Juggernaut?

Jazz Shaw:

That wasn't the only awkward moment of cognitive decline during the trip. While in Japan, Biden once again told troops that his son Beau had died in Iraq. Nobody corrected him.

President Biden told US forces stationed in Japan that his son Beau perished in the Iraq War, a video obtained exclusively by The Post reveals -- after the president stoked questions about his own mental acuity by making the same incorrect claim at least twice last year.

"My son was a major in the US Army. We lost him in Iraq," the 80-year-old president said during an informal visit with troops at Marine Corps Air Station Iwakuni Thursday.

8 There is no rationale for a DeSantis run.

DeSantis running in 24 is silly, pointless and counter-productive.

Any stage that has Donald Trump on it is going to be centered around Donald Trump, DeSantis and the rest of the chuckleheads are going to be blown off of that stage, get less than 10 pct of the primary vote and be humiliated in the end.

But I guess we have to go through this nonsense I suppose.

Sad.

21 I'll admit I was wrong about this. I was skeptical that DeathSantis would run unless Trump flamed out and the road to the nomination was clear.

I'm still not sure why he would announce this now. He has enough name recognition to wait until at least the end of the summer. We are heading into the season where most normal people -- ie, his potential voters -- aren't paying much attention to politics.

I suspect this timing has more to do with his donors than it does any strategic element. Getting in now only paints a bigger target on his back than he had before. Watch the media seize and pounce.

I have no problem with Ron DeSantis announcing a run. He has planned this for a while. The Florida legislature has changed Florida law so that he doesn't have to resign as governor to run.
DeSantis' surrogates have been trashing Trump for a while, which is why Trump has attacked DeSantis.
It's politics, not beanbag.
We are expecting things will NOT be turned upside down before 2024. And the election in November of 2024 is still a long ways away. A lot more stuff is going to happen.

80 The idiotic Beau Biden thing is a classic sign of dementia.

Anybody that's dealt with somebody with dementia knows - they tell the same stories, ask the same questions over and over and OVER again, no matter how many times you've heard the story or answered the question.

The story thing in particular is something they do to cover the fact that they don't understand what's actually happening. They retreat to their familiar stories when they can't understand the conversation taking place.

That's what's happening with Biden. He told the lie about that moron Beau so many times when he was just a Senator and nobody cared enough to actually correct him, that it became ingrained in his mind.

So he retreats to that story whenever talking about anything vaguely military to try and act like he knows what's going on.

It doesn't matter how many times EVERYBODY points out its a fucking lie. He's incapable of remembering anything other than his stupid story about BEAU DIED IN IRAQ.

The dementia just gets more and more pronounced.

>>Even if he doesn't win, it'll position him for 2028. The 2024 run will introduce him to the party voters who aren't familiar with him yet. Then in the next presidential primary - when Trump presumably won't be running - he'll come in as the clear front-runner.

Or, he could stay in Florida, remain being an effective, conservative governor, maintain Florida as a Bulwark against a rapacious and tyrannical Federal Leviathan, advance the "Florida Is Where Woke Goes To Die," philosophy, incorporate it with the MAGA/America First movement, galvanize and ingratiate yourself into the Trump base and see how things shake out over the course of the next four years...

Or make a Quixotic run at the Presidency, peep and peck beneath the feet of Colossus and generally piss off off everyone and get your ass waxed by The Master.

I know which one I prefer, others have a different view.

111 How long before this sends Trump and his most ardent supporters off the deep end.

He should welcome strong opponents, as it'll make him stronger and show that, if he wins, that he deserves to face Biden.

I also hope it shows his supporters that if he loses, he wasn't meant to be this time around. Though I'm not sure they'll take it that way, as I think we're seeing in polling where Trump beats Biden, as even moderate middle right Republicans are agreeing that in a head to head Trump is better, while DeSantis is losing because Trump's strongest fans are just going to cry at home and act just like NeverTrumpers this election cycle.

152 DeSantis is making a huge mistake. He should not be doing this right now, if at all.

If he is so hellbent on doing this, however, he needs to answer two questions. One of them I know he'll ace, but the second one - not so sure.

First, is there a problem with illegal immigration at the southern border. He's got that one nailed.

Second, was Biden legitimately elected POTUS? If he was, then go for trying to get his job, but then you're going to ignore all the revelations that have come out about The Fix, especially from the Durham Report? If he wasn't legitimately elected, and the recent news implies that the Feds used their tools to persecute an innocent man, what makes you think that you'll do any better?

That's done by establishing your platform, articulating your plan to achieve that platform and generally convincing people you have the ability to accomplish it either through what you've done in the past, or somehow showcasing your ability to do it.

You want a coronation? Move the the UK.

This is a worthwhile process and if you don't have the stones to do it, or prefer hurling pejoratives and spreading salacious rumors, maybe you should sit this out. Because in the end, it's about us, the people, not you.

173 I also hope it shows his supporters that if he loses, he wasn't meant to be this time around.

Assuming that the Dems don't raise fraud to the level of Arizona and Biden continues to rot along with his policies, DeSantis must make an economic appeal to people in the Midwest who were Obama voters, then Trump voters to win the general election. And that means fighting with his GOP donors over America First trade, H1B importation, foreign policy like shipping bucks to Ukraine, and shutting the border.

Social issues like trans or fighting with Disney will only take you so far and that is why the old GOP playbook of Karl Rove focusing on white females in the suburbs needs to be permanently chucked. Economics benefiting all people is what drove Trump to gain millions of votes in 2020.

What Dems did in 2020 is part of why they'll probably never lose again. They set the bullshit number of 81 million votes, and now they know they can fraudulently add up to that many, and still keep the media and their moron voters believing that they are actually fairly winning elections.

Without mass mail in balloting Republicans will probably fall back to their traditional numbers of the previous 2 decades of elections, but Dems will continue to scrounge up 81 million votes, having people believe Biden is monumentally more popular than Barack Obama. So now Republicans need to legitimately find, or siphon off from Dems, an extra 20 million votes each cycle.

They will not. So you have to expose the shit in real time, and fight it every step of the way while it's occurring. Because no amount of evidence will ever change the score once the score is posted.

I also think it's makeweight. I doubt there's a single Trump supporter who would suddenly be Meatball-curious if Desantis gave a perfect answer on this issue.

Whig - if DeSantis really wants to win, that's how he has to do it. However, if he's doing that, he will be telegraphing to the GOPe that he's not for sale. I don't think they'll tolerate two Trumps on the ticket. The other problem with that strategy is that he needs all the Trump supporters behind him if he has a chance to fully utilize that base to go for the undecideds in the general. If he splits the Trump vote now, I don't see him getting them all back easily unless he runs as Trump Jr.

239 How can you be worrying about such minor issues, when trans people are under attack...and so close to Pride month!!

Oregon: vandalization of the tampon dispensers placed in the boys bathrooms by law. An Oregon high school asked boys to stop vandalizing its bathrooms after stocking them with free menstrual products, according to a Friday email obtained by the Daily Caller News Foundation.

A picture of the vicious crime is here. I warn the faint of heart, they may not be prepared for the image contained within: https://tinyurl.com/3e35hwnc

A person who is menstruating should be using the female bathroom regardless of gender identity. Problem solved.

trans kids do! If they’re presenting as boys and they’re on their period, why should they be required to use the girls bathroom?!

If they're presenting as a boy and living as if they were, then there is not any reason for them to use the girls bathroom. I wish everywhere would switch to non gendered bathrooms.

267 What is the right strategy, then? I'm honestly asking.
Posted by: Dr. T

You have to sue and force reluctant states like GA and AZ among others to clean their voter rolls. The reason why the Dems run continuous voter registration campaigns is to employ their voter harvesters. So under the Motor Voter bill, every state has to cull its voting list on a regular basis and there are multiple organizations doing that in various states for the GOP. The second is that Trump's rallies (widely panned here) also identified registered likely voters which all the stupid mailout GOPe campaign mailers and robocalls don't do.

Ditto on suing early and often to get injunctions against places like Detroit blocking out voter observers. The police then cannot say without legal consequences that nothing can be done.
Youngkin showed the way in VA in 2021 against one of the dirtiest Dems in a blue state.

317 I'm baffled by this insistence that the legitimacy of Desantis's campaign turns on whether he makes Trump's central complaint his own. It's a state issue, as they are in the saddle about how they conduct elections, with little federal oversight in practice. So what's it matter what Desantis thinks about this, given any solutions aren't coming from the federal government anyway?

I also think it's makeweight. I doubt there's a single Trump supporter who would suddenly be Meatball-curious if Desantis gave a perfect answer on this issue.
Posted by: bear with asymmetrical balls - an election is simply a festival for the majority at May 23, 2023 02:47 PM (ppBhU)

My issue is actually independent of a particular state vote count. The Durham Report shows that the FIB did some very, very unsavory things to Trump, for instance. The DOJ and State and the CIA as well. If he thinks that Trump - an innocent man, I need to stress - is political roadkill and he can just step over him to become POTUS without even acknowledging the unfairness, and promising to address it, I'm not sure why he deserves my vote. You can't fix it if you don't try to get a mandate to change it from the voters.

There is not one argument that moves me one way or another about one being less bad on covid than any other. Everyone but Noem was terrible on covid, and I'd never vote for her.

Using covid as a measuring stick of someone's ability to govern pretty much leaves you with no one. So, you either walk away completely, or just throw it out as unmeasurable. It's also a reminder that our entire political class is awful.

I suspect with the various admissions of "fortifying" the election that every politically aware Democrat is aware they stole the election.

The Young Reds want their time, and if they have to pry Doctor Jane's fingers off the doorframe of the White House, they'll do it. The Potato is a non-starter, there was a LOT of voter's remorse over the mail-in ballots in 2020, and cheating can only cover so much of a stay-at-home deficit. Plus the appointed winner has to face Trump or DeSantis in the open; a basement campaign won't cut it in '24.

Jack, this is honestly the thing that could keep me home in 2024. I don't see how, if you don't get the entire GOP singing from the same hymnal on this point, you can fix this so that the GOP wins more than possibly one more election, at best. This election was stolen. Period. If the party isn't going to say anything about this - now - I don't see how it ever gets addressed. The GOP wants to elide the whole 'stolen' issue, thinking that if they simply get back to the WH it will change. It won't. Even now - with all the revelations coming out with Durham - not one major GOP figure will simply say what we all know. If that's the case, I don't see how DeSantis gets them to think differently.

Correctimundo. I don't see any rational person acting any differently than Trump is right now. Don't forget - he didn't lose like Romney or McCain did. He actually won the 2020 election. And he's an innocent man.

377 Why did the intel community take the extraordinary step of creating and signing a letter saying the Hunter laptop was Russian disinformation if they knew they could just rig the election? Why bother?
==
Because the more they have to cheat the harder it is to hide it. So they didn't want it to be COMPLETELY ridiculous. But, it was anyway. Massive watermain break - toilet leaking.

378 >>Jack, this is honestly the thing that could keep me home in 2024. I don't see how, if you don't get the entire GOP singing from the same hymnal on this point, you can fix this so that the GOP wins more than possibly one more election, at best.

I guess my point is that cheating in an election, something the left has done since the days of Tammany Hall, only works if it is plausible that the candidate could win. In 2020 the left hid Joe, with the help of the media covered up his past record in the Senate while making him some sort of grandfatherly figure that would bring the country together after that mean old Russian spy Trump.

None of that is really possible in 2024 even with the media lies. Joe's record as president is out there for all to see and it is beyond dismal. His own party doesn't want him to run.

I just don't see how they can plausibly cheat enough to push him over the top now that so many see what is going on. Maybe they will and the country is completely over but if they needed to lie so much last time then cheating in and of itself can't be enough to win every election.

379 ot one major GOP figure will simply say what we all know. If that's the case, I don't see how DeSantis gets them to think differently.
==
which presupposes DeSantis wants them to think differently. Maybe he does. Maybe not. We'll see what happens. Pop the popcorn.

So here's a question. Why did the intel community take the extraordinary step of creating and signing a letter saying the Hunter laptop was Russian disinformation if they knew they could just rig the election? Why bother?

Because sometimes evil people will take a shit on their victims and mutilate the bodies. Pure and simple - because they liked being cruel and evil.

The covid fiasco was a compliance test. The need for "plausibility" has been eroded enough that they know that they can just take it. And the uniparty deepstate will just sit there and grin.

383 I'm picturing that dome Karl Rove sitting in Austin going through his deck of white board explainers writing, erasing, writing, ... to see which order they should be in when he gets on with Brett or Ciannity.

Having worked in the investigating crime business certain types of criminals and crimes actually have patterns and general boundaries.
Does not apply to these fuckers.
Seriously.
These are the people gassing the lesser humans( in their eyes) and harvesting the gold out of their teeth. These are not political types. These are psychopaths and sociopaths that have swastika DNA. We are in more trouble than we realize imo.

386 So Elon Musk a man who literally works for the federal government (SpaceX) and relies on carbon credits from the federal government (Tesla), not to mention the good graces of the CCP, is going to interview neocon Ron DeSantis, who has the backing of Paul Ryan.

Yes indeed, FREEDOM BABY

388 DeSantis is all nice and everything, but if he loses gracefully or if his win occasions a return of consultants like Karl Rove and David French, who then get to say to us "Trump and ultra MAGA types were bad, but finally they're gone and we're back tp business as normal", I don't know what I'll do to you. Probably stop reading your blog.

389 By the way Deuce, accordingly to the imbecilic logic of your co-blogger CBD, Democrat Party institutions such as the NAACP are targeting DeSantis as the leader of a dangerous (bordering on “Terrorist” State because the Democrats want to elevate DeSantis so he wins the GOP nomination because the Democrats know Dementia Joe can wipe the floor with Fatty Meatball (BiteMe) Ron without leaving his beach house.

You see how CBD’s imbecilic logic can come back around like a moronic boomerang?
