Going in to Memorial Day. Gotta hurt. But the timing could not be more perfect. This has been going on for a while now, and most of the damage is probably now done. Much of the market decline is likely now permanent, and it is ready to bounce back a bit.
Except that we're a week away from Pride Month, and Tranheuser-Busch is going to fly the rainbow flag as high and as loudly as possible. All companies will, and TB-InBev will be no exception. If anything, TB-InBev will go harder at it than most because they want to regain some woke cred and ESG points after "distancing themselves from Mulvaney."

The drop in sales has made In-Bev's relationship with their SEG enforcing bank more important, in order to cover their short-term costs especially in the face of a sudden drop in cash flow. They can't change directions if and until they get new funding from a new bank that won't enforce SEG rules. However, the C-suite WANTS to follow SEG rules, so it's all an excuse to becomes more in alignment with SEG rules.
They will spiral down until an investor revolt, which will take a long time to manifest because the investment banks are in favor of SEG rules.

For that reason alone, this Bud Light thing matters. Even if you put down your Bud Light for some other AB brand - and I'm sure many have. Even if Miller made a similar ad. Doesn't matter.

I think the reason these women do this is illustrated by a recent complaint from Paulina Porizkova. Paulina was at one time the hottest model in the world and a stunning girl. Now she's 58 years old (and still looks great), and she is complaining that she's invisible at parties now, she cannot find a man to pay her attention.
When she was young it probably looked like a song and dance number when she walked in a room with 20 guys surrounding her offering to light cigarettes, bowing, etc. Now she's still good looking but not awesome and the young guys she wants attention from are after the younger models. And she is kinda bitter about it.
And I think that's the deal: these women hit the wall, and while still attractive, aren't the center of attention any more, they aren't being chased by the hottest, richest guys, etc. And they get angry.

I think it'd be more accurate to say she regrests being unable to continue doing the nudity that made her rich and would make her richer if she could still land those roles. Can't help but notice that these ladies only seem to have these regrets after the bloom of youth is off and desireable roles become more difficult to land. One could attribute it instead to age and wisdom, but I'm doubtful in the case of a profession that historically we have rightly considered to be on par with prostitutes.

Sports are not immune, but they are highly resistant to boycott because there are no near substitutes. Think about the MLB strike in the 90s. That caused baseball viewership to decline and it kept its declines for at least a decade. But not even that madness killed the MLB.

It'll be interesting to see if it happens next month, but a lot of companies have been signaling behind the scenes that they are dialing back on the fag-woke because every campaign has blown up in their faces, mostly because of corporate stupidity, such as changing to fag colors only for North American handles on social media but leaving it unchanged for asia and middle east markets
or my personal favorite, making "pride" products and then charging more for them than the regular products because they cost more to make, and then having to deal with the obvious backlash because of it

Most average to attractive women compare themselves to the top 1% of men. And so they argue basically it isn't fair that they become invisible when they "hit the wall" because that doesn't happen to someone like Bezos or Musk.

I said in 2009 that too many "conservatives" were giving up ground so that people wouldn't think they were "bigots", even by an ill-conceived and poorly-argued standard.
Here's one of the things about slippery slopes. Slippery slopes avoid that there can be intermediate positions. However, the more progressive on the "conservative" side were saying that there were no intermediate positions between being for black progress and gay progress.
So they were invoking a "principle" in which intermediate positions would not be acknowledged while accusing others of ignoring intermediate positions.
And still, a great number of people fell for it to feel more "progressive". (Don't get me wrong, I feel the lure of "progress" almost as much as any.)

Word. There's a woman in my circle who is/was a working model. Stunningly beautiful by any measure. She did mostly catalog and commercial work with a smattering of runway gigs. Her gigs have fallen off a cliff in the past year even though she still has, to my eyes, her looks and professional poise. She is absolutely despondent and actively considering escort work and modeling for corporate gigs. Within her working circle, she's a washed up has-been. And she laments the loss of status within that group and circle even though, in the outside world, she has a great deal to offer. 25? She's lucky she lasted that long. Models are recruited at 15 or 16 and usually washed up a few years later. What happens at 25 is there's a cut-off by age. She's not getting gigs any more because most gigs won't even look at anyone that old. The 25 and up resumes get thrown in the trash.

AWD systems need equivalent tires to function properly - but you can usually get away with replacing one end or another in a symmetrical system like Subaru uses. And it is usually only a significant factor once the tires are worn. You don't want a major difference in tread depth and overall circumference.

It's not that women are naturally any worse than men. It's the fact that their bad behavior is encouraged and protected from any type of repercussion. It's just a sign of the times. I think Paglia said that the 20th century was the woman's century, but the 21st century will be the man's century dominated by the male response to the changes wrought by women in the 20th century.

I think its worth thinking about that, the way the talk sometimes goes. But please be careful not to misread what people are saying.
Guys here aren't saying "women are only worthwhile when they are young, but they are all stupid sluts." We're saying that too many young people in our modern culture are a walking disaster who do not realize what they are doing to themselves leads to misery.
Stuff like the "Female delusion calculator" isn't meant to be a brutal attack on women, but rather an aid to get young minds to wrap their heads around how unlikely their silly warped dreams are. They're raised to think they are super special and can get Tom Cruise without realizing Tom Cruise is not only queer but insane and unreachable in any case.

Right, that was the point I was trying to make a few days ago. I don't think women are worse than men, in most ways they're better than us.
I saw a meme a while back that showed what the world would be like without women, and had this utopian super sci fi futuristic cityscape. I mean, putting aside how humanity would just die out in a few decades, my experience with men is that we'd be living in caves eating raw meat and beating people over the head with clubs in a few generations without women.
The point is that the bad things about men are repressed and outlawed and shunned in society, but the bad things about women are often encouraged and cheered by our culture.

Well, of course there is, but that's the dichotomy presented here. There are not young women in my church but I have met them from the local non denominational church at street fairs. Many are pretty, don't seem to be showing off their boobies and seem to be nice and thoughtful young women and even some of the older 40 plus women who have been in the churches which I have served who had a bad break as far as relationship souring (as many men here have) are people of faith, attractive, good cooks, energetic, kindly., smart. I think these women think no man will be interested in them because they're not "hot" young women.

I was given a 1973 Fiat Spider in pieces. It came with an extra newer 2 litre dual overhead cam engine on the same trailer as all the other parts with a hood that would accommodate it.
Neighbor had a 1989 Miata (I think the first year). Side by side spec comparison those two cars were identical. Same as one of the Lancia brands too.
After assembly and clean up I sold it to a guy in the Netherlands. They were hungry for American versions of those Eurpoean sports cars back then.

850 or 124? I had a 73 124 that was a blast to drive but it required two days of working to fix it then you'd get 4 days of driving. But pumped out a 100 HP for 2 ltr motor which was smoethin back then.
