"Plandemic" Movie Trailer Released

Before getting to that: a woman says that she has "lockdown nostalgia."

Yeah, we know. Believe me, we all are very aware that many on the mentally-ill left loved the lockdowns and are dying to lock the nation down again for any pretext.

I have lockdown nostalgia, and I'm not alone

I recently made a plan to meet my best friend for a drink in two months' time. It was the first date we could both do -- not because our diaries are so full, but because we are trying to keep them empty.
I started limiting nights out for cost of living-related reasons, but socialising more than a couple of evenings per week now leaves me tired and a bit anxious. I miss my husband and my children, my bum dent on our sofa. I don't sound much fun to hang out with anyway, do I?
It's not just me. I've had several conversations recently -- at parties, ironically enough -- that confirmed what the guilty little voice in my head has been whispering for some time: for many people, the enforced planlessness of lockdown was actually quite nice.
It's a privilege to think this way, I know. For those who lost relatives and livelihoods, lockdown was beyond awful. It sharpened lifestyle choices to their most intolerable: loneliness among single people; the claustrophobia of house shares; the frustrated exhaustion of trying to work and parent simultaneously.
Yet many parent-friends are nostalgic for time spent together rather than constantly ferrying their kids between things. When the roster of weekend clubs and activities, and weeknight work events, dinner and drinks paused, their marital status ceased being ships in the night and reverted to companionship. It didn't suit everyone but plenty of couples found they liked it.

If I can be allowed to speculate: Many leftwing women do not actually enjoy having to work outside the home, but can't bring themselves to admit that. Feminism demands that leftwing women claim to love their careers and Showing Up the Patriarchy.

And that causes them to love the lockdowns -- the lockdowns made them stay home, but it wasn't their choice! They can't be blamed for it! They stayed home and spent time with their kids and liked it!

Rather than just admit that: They'll rush the country into fresh lockdowns the first opportunity they get.

A couple of weeks ago, Instapundit quoted this from a PJ Media article.

[Belgian clinical psychologist Mattias Desmet] went on to explain that, having met this first condition, the population is afflicted with what he calls "free-floating" anxiety and aggression, by which he means anxiety that does not have a clearly identifiable source. There is nothing in the environment to attach the anxiety to and therefore no obvious solution to remedy it.

Do you know any political groups you would say are especially susceptible to "free-floating anxiety and aggression"?

Because I can't think of any!

That's when demagogues with a narrative to push -- who, in the context of COVID in the West, also happened to enjoy an iron-clad grip on the corporate media -- seize on this anxiety to present those suffering with something, or someone, to blame. Those people then seize on the opportunity to, they hope, soothe their anxiety by neutralizing the enemy -- which, in this case, was both the virus itself (which justified lockdowns and vax mandates) and anyone who resisted the lockdowns -- their fellow countrymen.
The COVIDians found community -- something they longed for but had not found in their meaningless jobs or on Twitter or wherever they had been looking -- in banding together to defeat the unvaccinated.

I think that woman was getting at just this. She found her life as a purely economic actor unsatisfying, and felt more satisfied at home.

But she can't admit, so she has to romanticize fascist mass-imprisonment.

In this way, otherwise rational human beings -- particularly liberal women, who are statistically the most negatively affected by the modern techno-dystopia -- are turned into vicious, rabid animals willing to condone the most inhumane treatment of their enemies, weaponized cynically by the social engineers as they are unleashed on the public.

That doesn't sound like the Bitter, Sexually Unfulfilled Wine Aunts that I know.

34 My dad and I played old country music at the local nursing homes every week for five years until we were shut down by the 'rona. Daddy died in December of 2020 and I have never gone back. The other day, I ran into a volunteer coordinator who asked me if I would do it again. When she told me I'd have to have a shot, I said nope. She also told me how stupid she believed all the masking and the testing and the shutdowns were and how people died alone because they weren't allowed to be with their loved ones at the end and that she thought it was brutal and cruel if not criminal. I agree.

So, I'm down at my 50th reunion last weekend. I was amazed at the vitriol that poured forth towards anything remotely conservative in thought, word, or deed.

I self censored so as not to offend the hosts of the various events, but I slipped up at the last dinner.

I'm in line with a classmate who's dad was a doctor, and I let slip that I was, and remain unvaxxed.

We traded why's and why nots, right up until he said:
"You get vaxxed to protect your loved ones"

I stopped the conversation cold by saying:
"Your dad would be embarrassed by that statement"

He works in Manhattan, and lives on LI...

I ran into a male nurse who was in the ICU for two years of the covid insanity. He was playing a guitar on the beach and had a great voice and interesting lyrics. Talked for quite bit and he's obviously not 'out there'. He claimed he had to do 'magic mushrooms' or some other hallucinogen to 'cure' his PTSD over what he saw and witnessed.

I had major complications from it and I only had the one shot of J&J. Did a number on my existing autoimmune problems and have gotten covid twice since then with all the pleasant BP spikes, post covid bacterial infections, etc.

70 LOL. I have a wee bit of survivors' guilt. The idiotic covid lockdowns didn't stop me from doing my bucket list ride and I found out I could work from home. When I had previously just stayed home because of snowstorms and bad roads I'd get very little done so I thought I just couldn't focus on work outside of the office. But when my work sent everyone home and it was going to be for at least two weeks so I *had* to get stuff done the switch turned and I quickly got good at it. My employer was germ phobic and didn't return to normal office occupancy for over two years, although folks that needed to get into the office could sign up to come in on certain days for gradually ramped up occupancy. And I ignored my governor's rule about not traveling more than X miles from home and they didn't have broad enough surveillance state to stop that.

I was incredibly fortunate that I worked in systems integration and construction and that commercial construction in the US was never shut down for even a second.

And because of the nature of the industry and what we do, could never impose Vax mandates.

Which is quite the tell that not a single construction site was shut down because of COVID as social distancing and or masking is non-operative in that environment.

One job site did try to create bubble zones but that was quickly discarded as too risky to the schedule.

I lived that, too. But even in my own family. I tried to tell them that this vaccin" was too unproven to volunteer to become a lab rat and that the hysteria around COVID was much too artificial and extreme to be valid or justifiable. Given the politics of its day, it was clearly an agenda driven mechanism to alter the US (and the globe). But to almost no avail.

Some family members held out as long as possible but needed to retain employment, so they did the minimum they could get away with. Others were browbeat into submission by the most strident family members. I said in no uncertain terms, no, I am not taking this GD placebo even if it kills me.

In February of this year, everyone in my closest family got COVID. I did, too. Vaccine status meant zilch. It was like any other flu except that I lost some ability to taste for a month or so. So now I have natural immunity (which is classical) and only occasionally mention 'I Told You So' to the nasty.

I mean, that IS how a real vaccine works. Once everyone was vaccinated against polio, nobody's loved ones suffered or died from it.

This wasn't such a "vaccine". I'm not sure it every "could" be based on how quickly / often it mutates. If it *could* be, then we'd already have an effective vaccine for the cold and flu. But assuming it *was* possible, then that guidance would have been accurate. The fact is, it *wasn't* and the likes of Pfizer and Moderna, etc. KNEW IT. As did the CDC and WHO and Fauci, etc. There was never any data that supported that this was an actual "vaccine". It was a mildly effective pre-emptive therapeutic, but with a wide range of very bad side effects. And all for a 99.7% survivable virus. THAT is the fucking worst part.
