Vegans Melt Down Over Aubrey Plaza's Silly "Got Milk" Ad

Aubrey Plaza did an ad for Big Milk.

The ad made the point that milk means cow's milk. It poked light fun at the idea of making milk from plant material -- you know, oat milk, almond milk, all the various not-milks.

It's amusing enough:

Well, you can't upset the apple-cart of mentally-ill leftists with an Attack Hobby (as veganism is, it's an Attack Hobby) without expecting a lot of hatred.

Love&Sweatpants
@LoveSweatpants1

@evilhag #AubreyPlaza production company is perfect name for her now after this brutal MILK campaign...AWFUL pivot from a flourishing career. @peta
Not a great look #AubreyPlaza

Peta is doing a big push against cow milk. I don't know if they started that after this ad, or they were already going hard against cow milk.

They seem to have zero sense of priority or proportion:

Shrimp? Sea roaches are what we have to worry about now, Peta?

Keep tilting at windmills, Peta.

PETA rewrites the Bible with the help of ChatGPT to make the Book of Genesis 'vegan' friendly

In PETA's AI-generated, vegan version of the Bible, animals are referred to as 'beings' rather than 'beasts' and plants are used for clothing instead of animal skins

PETA has given the Bible's Book of Genesis a "vegan" makeover, using ChatGPT to recreate the story and "send a can't-be-missed animal rights message filled with vegan teachings."

In PETA's vegan version of the Bible, animals are referred to as "beings" rather than "beasts" or "creatures" and plants like hemp and bamboo are used for clothing instead of animal skins because "no one with any fashion or moral sense would wear animal skins in the 21st century."

Gratuitously alienating potential converts to your cause by trivializing their religion is extremely counter-productive, but Peta always has been an organization with the mentality of 13-year-old Goth mean girls. They're not in this to make change, they're in it to make adults uncomfortable.

29 I know someone who's a vegan or almost one. She may eat cheese occasionally. She's a lovely woman (phyisically and personally , a Christian and a not an evangelist for veganism; She just think it's healthier (she's a nutritionist) and I don't see a point in arguing with her. Her politics are also conservative so she would have nothing in common with these radical vegans. I think she's a minority among vegans, however.

In 2018, I started eating cereal again for desert or sometimes with protein powder for breakfast (relatively low sugar cereal) with lowfat milk. I started getting edema in my lower legs. Weirdest thing. When I stopped with the cereal and milk, no more edema. I eat a lot of dairy otherwise (cheese, yogurt) with no edema.

54 Some somewhat related, probably quixotic, hope.

I always got angry at people who wanted to ban foie gras. I love foie gras. The logic used was that sticking the funnel down the goose's neck was "cruel" and painful for the goose. The funnel is used to feed it grain, which makes the liver fatty.

My hope is that all the video of birds eating things like rats and other birds whole will dispel this stupid concern. Birds can handle a funnel and it does not cause pain - it feeds them.

(And don't tell me that having a fatty liver is "cruel" since half the USA spend a lot of time stuffing their own faces to get one of those.)

So my quixotic hope is that all these stupid video on the internet will make people a little less concerned about geese laryngitis and leave my foie gras alone.

Ducks don't have a gag reflex, which is something that the animal rights loons don't mention. So the force feeding doesn't bother them, and I have seen video of the farms where those ducks are produced, and the ducks line up to be fed. Obviously it isn't awful.

A bunch of us hopped in the back of a pickup with a large packet of old raw hamburger and pelted the shit out of them. Another group of guys grabbed their signs and tossed them out in the street where the signs were run over. Last time them pricks(as far as I know of) protested there.

and "But in the blink of an evolutionary eye northern Europeans began inheriting a genetic mutation that enabled them to do so. The trait became common in just a few thousand years, and today it’s found in up to 95 percent of the population."

I'm not clear if they mean 95% of the European heritage population, or global population. Seems most of the globe is lactose tolerant, to some degree?

Of course, since I can't drink milk, I admit I thought about whether you could turn wood into milk. I mean, hemp milk is popular (although not one I drink). So, maybe there could be some tree that makes a tasty, allergy free "milk".

The hamburger I chose was 75/25 and the meat loaf came out of the oven (which I repaired) a little too fatty, greasy. I sopped it up and saved dinner.

It didn't "spread", it won. DNA does not spread like a virus, it survives while the others die out.

Why can't they talk this way about western culture and genes? Europe did not annihilate indigenous people, "European genes 'spread' to cover the new world."

218 Audrey Plaza's good and funny in Guy Richie's

"Operation Fortune: Ruse de Guerre",

which itself is a very good and fun caper/action movie.

It more or less a mash-up of James Bond with Mission:Impossible and one of those 60's caper movies.

Check it out.

219 Almond milk is great. Tasty stuff, but almonds are primarily grown in California, and it requires a ridiculous amount of water to cultivate the number of almonds that go into a standard package. Go with oat or soy if you're actually concerned about the environment or animal welfare.

This only became a talking point when the delta smelt fan club were getting upset at farmers wanting to use water for irrigation rather let it just all drain out to the ocean. Flood irrigation may not be highly efficient, but it also helps replenish aquafirs, which is even more important now that so many farmers have swapped to wells for irrigation. Plus more products get produced than just what humans eat: hulls which are a common component of cattle feed, firewood, honey.

If people actually were concerned about the environment or animal welfare the would vote for politicians who would approve new water storage projects. In reality the greens just hate humans and want to cause maximum harm.

225 @192 However, a subset of humans have a genetic mutation that enables the enzyme lactase to digest the lactose sugar found in milk throughout an individual's lifetime.
