The " " " Drudge " " " Report Claims That Fox Will Put Tired Catchphrase-Slinging Drull Sean Hannity Into Tucker Carlson's Slot

Notice I did not say they would "replace" Tucker Carlson with this lowbrow hambrain.

According to " " " Drudge " "" (meaning "not Drudge"), this is what the brain trust who cooked up the Arizona election call and then doubled and redoubled down on it has decided is the right move.

The Drudge Report dropped a siren-blaring scoop on Wednesday announcing an imminent shake-up at Fox News, eventually reporting that Sean Hannity will take over at 8 p.m.
"WORLD EXCLUSIVE: FOXNEWS SETS NEW SCHEDULE" read the headline from Matt Drudge on the highly-trafficked website he founded. Drudge eventually updated that headline to note Hannity's new gig as well as report both Jesse Watters and Greg Gutfeld would be heading to prime time.
Watters currently hosts one of Fox's top-rated shows at 7 p.m. while Gutfeld hosts a highly-rated late-night show at 11 p.m. -- both co-host Fox's top-rated program The Five at 5 p.m. Hannity, meanwhile, broke the record for longest-running cable news prime time host in April of 2022, eclipsing Larry King at 25 years, six months, and 15 days.
"FOXNEWS is preparing to announce an ambitious new schedule, the DRUDGE REPORT has learned, a schedule where ever hour of primetime will change!" Drudge reported. "TOP SOURCE TELLS DRUDGE: 'IT'S OUR BOLDEST AND MOST FEARLESS LINE-UP EVER'..."
Fox News fired its top-rated opinion host, Tucker Carlson, at the end of April after a long string of controversies. While advertisers have reportedly flocked back to the 8 p.m. hour Carlson used to occupy, viewership has dropped significantly.

She said her husband referred to James Murdoch, Mr Murdoch's younger son, and Lachlan as "Tweedle Dumb" and "Tweedle Dumber" respectively.

Megyn Kelly confirms that Ailes called Les Freres Murdoch "Tweedle Dumb" and "Tweedle Dumber," stating that he said that to her all the time.

9 There is no "right" move here, because there is no suitable replacement anywhere for Tucker. Fox News screwed themselves. I think they should have put Watters at 8, but probably saw that as a slight to the decrepit GOP fossil Hannity, so they will wait until Hannity fails and push him out. Not a fan, exactly, but he was good at not scaring away curious moderates until they were ready for Tucker or Limbaugh. The left got where it is by calculated incrementalism, so yes, people who don't pass all of your purity tests can still be useful.

Drudge was a gateway / bridge to the "blogosphere". His site was a clearinghouse of links to stuff we couldn't see / hear anywhere else -- hence Rush Limbaugh referencing Drudge quite a bit. But as blogs became more prevalent, we got to read more commentary and then participate in it. Now we here have JJ doing a bit of a mashup of what Drudge and Rush used to do (links, stack of stuff, monologue) - and we get to participate. I think there's other stuff here throughout the day all the way up to the ONT, but nobody actually reads it.

While I haven't watched Hannity in many years, I used to agree with that assessment. What changed my mind about him since then was that he seemed to go out of his way to promote GOPes who use him as a platform to subvert conservative causes. There is no way, for instance, that he should have given Sen. Graham a platform to spout clearly unconstitutional ideas like a national law on abortion. Tucker wouldn't have let Lindsey get away with nonsense like that, which is why Graham stayed far away from Tuck. There are more examples after that one.

Any time they start making an effort to fill up the empty space and do some minor esthetic improvements,

you can bet that they're going to sell.

Where the Murdochs fucked up is that they confused the time slot with the talent in the time slot.

There's nothing magical about that time slot. Maybe they can get some increased commercials interest there initially. But, the audience numbers won't validate that increased interest.

479 I was a cable news junkie - Fox on first thing in the morning while getting ready for work, and immediately put on after getting home and while making dinner. That was 10 years ago.

Cut cable and saving a bundle. In the morning I put on "Toon in With Me" a cartoon show that shows the classics - Bugs, Sylvester, and the rest of the gang. After work, it is either a good Western series/movie or channel with popular shows from the 60's/70's - Green Acres, Bev Hillbillies, Andy Griffith Show, etc.

Saving $$ and much healthier.

This scripture is a bit unclear. How were the mountains covered if the water only rose ~22.5 feet? If the mountains were covered, how was the water depth measured? From the tops of the mountains?

An interesting geographic bit is since Noah lived in the area where Iran is now, old Mesopotamia, if the Flood was a scaled up River flood the ark should have gone out into the Persian Gulf and landed on the coast of Arabia or Iran...or no coast at all.

To get to the area of the traditional landing the Gulf itself would have to rise and sweep inland, against the flow of the rivers.

487 When Rush died & Audacity radio put Hannity on locally, it went over like a lead balloon. Our current Monday through Friday radio lineup is pretty darn good, especially for the Philly region. IMHO Hannity is insufferable on an hour long TV slot & all radio, even when 'Linda' works hard to temper him.

I care about seeing Tyrus, Kat & many of the comedians and other guests routinely appearing on the 8 and 11 pm EST time slots. I like many of Fox's women anchors but most appear to be pro-life and very pro women/girls/family/school issues which doesn't go over well for the progressives who'll strike particularly quick to shutdown such anchors & all of their advertisers.

Another point about information, Ford announced it'll stop manufacturing vehicles with AM radio. As that broadens, AM radio - the high school sports, conservative news talk shows, certain religious & ethnic stations, maybe even some of the NOAA weather warnings - might vanish from the airways. How does that darn Hannity manage to always stay afloat?

PS - Jesse Watters won't cut it for long w/o lots of guests & coming off his high horse a tad.

Hannity has a viewing life of one week or less. Actually about 2/3 days and then Hannity adds NOTHING to anything a normally engaged person does not already know.
