The Washington Post begs Biden to please start answering questions from the press. Currently he's pursuing a Basement strategy, of course, and only does occasional sit-downs with extremely friendly media, the kind of media which will edit out his slurs and runs of incoherence and won't ask him any difficult questions.

You know, like most of the media. But the rest of the media is jealous that only the hardest leftwing "hosts" on MSNBC get "interviews" now.

It happened again on Monday. Mr. Biden appeared alongside Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg to brief reporters on new efforts to force airlines to compensate passengers when a flight is canceled. As soon as his remarks ended, Mr. Biden turned and walked off, ignoring questions from reporters. This comes after the president claimed Friday that he was doing a "major press conference" that evening. In reality, he was doing an MSNBC interview.
Taking questions from the media promotes public accountability. It also shows that the president is willing to defend his positions and instills confidence that he can do the job. It is widely known that Mr. Biden is gaffe-prone and that news conferences are not his forte. But as he runs for a second term, he should be eager to show he can handle all aspects of the job.
Pick up the microphone, Mr. President. The media is not your enemy.

I don't agree with the post above that implies that firing Tucker and Bongino is a cost savings move. Tucker got the best ratings by far, his cost/benefit ratio was the best around. They'd be better off firing everyone else first.

Not sure if it was demanded by Dominion, or an unforced error by Fox, but no way it was a rational response to the situation.

Reportedly, Rupert Murdoch blew a fuse when the Delaware judge in the Dominion case ordered him and other Murdochs to be deposed. That started the whole ball of wax going downhill. I think the personal animosity between Murdoch and his 'talent' and 'audience' reached the breaking point. Rupert did not want to answer questions under oath. The settlement occurred because the Delaware judge in the case allowed Dominion to depose him. I think it would reveal a very nasty man underneath that believes in nothing but money and power.

I concur. Part of the settlement with Dominion might have been to shut down his show, but it was about January 6 and how he would popularize and bring attention to stuff the left wanted silenced, including his own bosses.

Rupert Murdoch ordered Fox to settle one week after a Delaware judge ruled that he and other Murdochs would have to testify under oath in a deposition. The lawsuit itself was still in the discovery process.

If you want to know what's what with Murdoch, look up the old News of the World demise and what killed it. Murdoch made the editor take the blame for years of misconduct.

Version two would leave both Fox and Dominion at risk for future litigation by Tucker for wrongful firing. If that was the reason, it would have to have been verbal and very closely held to one or two negotiators.

I think the Jan. 6 had more to do with it as an additional irritant plus Rupert might have wanted to clear the deck. It is clear that the Murdochs do not want any part of appearing in depositions as it would open all kinds of potential litigation from a number of former employees as well as potential targets of the Murdoch's ire.
