The Nation's Top Veterinary Schools Are Now Teaching CRT

How come all the white dogs are with the docs getting their testicles fondled, and all the black dogs are still in cages waiting to be served?!?!

Eight of America's top 11 veterinary schools have implemented controversial critical race theory (CRT) or Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) related curricula or training, according to a new study.
"If veterinary schools think they are advancing racial justice by embedding racial group identity politics into training, they are barking up the wrong tree," CriticalRace.org founder William A. Jacobson told Fox News Digital.
CriticalRace.org, which monitors critical race theory (CRT) curricula and training in higher education, has expanded its database to veterinary schools. The findings included that four of the schools have mandatory training or curriculum for students, eight have some sort of mandatory faculty and staff training, and six have incorporated DEI training into their search and hiring processes.
"Nothing shocks us anymore about the push to inject CRT/DEI into education, but we didn't expect that it would be so aggressive in veterinary schools," Jacobson continued. "The ideological capture of top veterinary schools demonstrates that CRT/DEI is not about pet care, it's about controlling people with ideology. It's not like the patients are howling for their doctors to be social justice warriors."

And they will enforce their demands, at least for a while. What, are you going to *not* take your sick animal to the vet? Because that's the choice. Veterinary schools are a pretty tight cartel. If you want to go to the vet at all, you're going to get one of their graduates. As the Critical Theory graduates crowd out the old guys, that's all who will be left. You can take Old Yeller out back and shoot him, or you can go to the CRT vet and take care of him - so long as no non-whites need those services at the same time.

84 Large animal vets have to be tough and to a certain extent brutal. I once helped one get a 800 pound cow down that had a bodark apple stuck in her esophagus. She was uncooperative (imagine that) and it took 3 men with ropes to get her down. Once down the vet took a 2" diameter by 4 feet long piece of PVC pipe and ram rodded the apple on down. She was back with the herd grazing 15 minutes later.

95 58 My nephew recently graduated from Texas A and M vet school. Top of the class, and a horse podiatrist who flies out to the racing stables to address issues the stable vets can't handle. He was almost kicked out because he wouldn't sign a pledge to be an 'ally'.

Oh, and he was one of ten men out of a class of 126. All ten men were 1-10 on the class rankings.

I love my vets and they are all ladies but very sharp - BUT they don't do well with difficult clients. I have my own muzzle for my dog (soft muzzle) and I just go ahead and use it so they are more comfortable. (plus rather that than they put on the big nasty muzzle they use)

I have a "difficult breed" that is not a bully breed. they're even less happy dealing with bullies than my dog. it's a bit of a constant battle.

vet school is tough especially at the schools mentioned. and expensive to boot. where do all the graduates end up I wonder? having a veterinary practice is a hard work, and not that lucrative no matter how much they get out of me every week.

So have I. But the recent classes are almost all women, many of whom are marginally prepared for the rigor of the classes. All of the men who made it in had to do a lot more, have higher grades, and experience to make it into the class. My nephew was a rancher for 20 years before he decided to go to undergrad and apply. He's been doing a lot of the large animal work already, and it was only that experience that gave him to ability to get a place in the class. His 4.0 wasn't enough.

All of the men who made it in had to do a lot more, have higher grades, and experience to make it into the class. My nephew was a rancher for 20 years before he decided to go to undergrad and apply. He's been doing a lot of the large animal work already, and it was only that experience that gave him to ability to get a place in the class. His 4.0 wasn't enough.

My daughter is a vet tech at an unnamed university and trains vet students in anesthesia as they do their rotations. One, a significant proportion of the female students regret going the vet route. They wanted to work with animals and being a vet is like being a doctor. You walk in, do your couple of minutes, and leave. The vet tech does most of the animal handling and care. Next, she says the students have had to spend so much time in the books, they have difficulty doing the simplest physical tasks or using common sense.

The vets tend to put them on phenobarbital or tramazol. It's not effective and the owners wind up asking for help. But they seem to just want different pills. Some on the list have had success with raw diets and homeopathy.

Instead, Trump is amplifying his problems by going negative right out of the gate, and making DeSantis the enemy rather than Biden and Democrats.

Also, this out-of-the-gate focus on DeSantis as the enemy will only make the GOP primary even more of a two-person race, and that’s precisely what Trump doesn’t want. Licensing boards have scared the shit out of vets since then. We had one we worked with for wildlife rehab. No one in power gives a shit if wildlife lives or dies. That's why it's up to private individuals who are licensed and not some government agency rehabbing wildlife.

The vet still couldn't sew up a sliced open finger from a baby bobcat because she was worried about her licensing board hearing about it.

Dogs are pack predators and would run over a large range. To truly see them work, you'd need to see one pack meet another inside their hunting area. Then you'd likely see a scenario like adding a cat to a house, with the stronger pack driving the weaker outside their range to preserve the prey for themselves.

Cats tend to accomodate extras once they know the food won't run out because of the extra mouths.

I almost went to Baylor, but I wanted to be an Aggie since I was tiny and rebelling against my parents and their UT. That and it was a more workable option as I was married to someone in the Army and I could take a few classes on post.
