How was your Earth Day celebration this past Saturday?

Did anyone you know engage in special sacraments to celebrate this highest of holy days of The Sustainable Organic Church of the Carbon Apocalypse?

In my various circles of friends and family, which include plenty of lefties, I don’t know a single person who pays attention to Earth Day any longer, whereas a couple decades ago it was like Easter to some of these folks. Maybe that’s a little victory in the battle against eco-communism.

Anyhow, if you did some form of ritualistic carbon-fasting on Earth Day, nature belched in your face last week, and more than offset you.

Do you remember back when “Global Warming” meant that “snowfalls are now just a thing of the past”?

Yeah, “the science” of global warming was a little unscientific with that swing and a miss.

You Are The Carbon They Want to Eliminate

To save the planet, the climate cultists want to take away from you: meat, heat, air conditioning, single family homes, cars, fertilizer, agriculture, cooking fuels, etc. They are unrelenting. So unsurprisingly, they are now openly stating that one of the basic staple foods that keep billions of people alive is problematic.

Those trying to “save” the planet are making their aims explicitly clear, “Some of you will have to die, and that is a sacrifice we are willing to make.”

AFP News has now deleted the above tweet, as it is way too obvious about the eco-communists’ goal.

Mass extermination of fellow humans is an historically common behavior for our species. It’s time to recognize that the climate agenda is more than just a hoax, it is a diabolical plan for starvation and depopulation.

Be very afraid of the eco-communists and all the institutions they have captured. The “climate affirming care” they seek to impose on us will have an incomprehensible body count.

Must We Destroy the Environment to Save the Planet?

As a bird lover, and as a person who despairs about the sacramental killing of any creature in service to religious doctrine, I am missing the days when “environmentalists” were trying to protect birds, rather than advocating for their slaughter to appease their angry climate God.

Populations of a diving seabird plummeted by more than 90 percent after offshore wind farms were built, a study has found.
Data from German scientists looked at the number of red-throated loons in the North Sea before and after the installation of five offshore wind farms.
Numbers of the birds were found to be up to 94 percent lower within half a mile of the wind turbines, on average, after they were built.

What is so despicable about the slaughter of birds at the blades of wind turbines is that there must still be 100% backup of traditional energy for when the winds don’t blow. The wind turbines provide zero reliable electricity.

The brilliant Oilfield Rando captured it perfectly with this tweet below, pointing out that liberal media elites are now enthusiastic about killing birds so long as it’s in service to the climate agenda, but God forbid the oil industry disturbs one nest.

Speaking of Oilfield Rando, he noticed that Bloomberg is trying to coerce tech companies to blacklist energy companies, and presumably to have those tech companies blacklisted too, if they don’t suspend business operations with coal and oil companies.

Left wing activists used to hate McCarthyism. Now they see it as an instruction manual. (“Hey tech company: Are you now, or have you ever done business with a carbon energy company?”)

Brody Ford and Bloomberg are not engaged in journalism. They are activists, engaging in coercion, for the purpose of suppressing freedom, all in service to the anti-human “climate” agenda.

Carbon Is Compassionate

Let’s end on something that is a little more hopeful. Youthful liberalism often gives way to conservatism as we age. A great many readers of this blog were red-pilled somewhere along the way. In fact, it’s funny to hear young leftists denigrate Baby Boomers as intolerant conservatives who sit around watching Fox News all day, since those same Boomers were once the rebellious “younger generation” from which sprang hippies and Woodstock.

We need to start planting the seeds in today’s young minds to help them start transitioning to the right regarding the climate debate. It is natural for the young to want be on the “compassionate and caring” side of any political debate. They don’t have the life experiences to fully understand the concept of the road to Hell being paved with good intentions. Respectfully helping them see that the climate agenda is the opposite of compassionate is necessary if we are going to turn the tide and prevent climate communism from being imposed upon us.

Our friends at Heartland shared with me this 4 ½ minute video of Linnea Lueken, a 20-something petroleum engineer who is also a research fellow at Heartland. In this brief “Earth Day” video, Ms. Lueken implores others of her generation to understand the consequences of decarbonization and going organic, asking her generational peers to think compassionately about the victims if net zero is enacted.

If you know good young people who are naively sympathetic to the climate scare, it would be good to get this video in front of them.

I know this because they keep making falsifiable statements with no wiggle room, and keep being proven wrong. Any scientist who's been in the game for awhile knows that you don't say X, you say the data suggest X, but more research is needed. You always hedge your bets; it's the best way to avoid embarrassment.

Yes, it can be maddening, but it also conveys a sense that you understand you aren't perfect, and the experimental results may change due to unforeseen factors you neglected.

To say otherwise is pure arrogance.

You need the technology to produce clean energy, the natural resources to build the devices to collect the energy, and the infrastructure to store and transmit the collected energy.

As of now, we fail on all 3 in terms of very large scale stable implementation. To get to those points, we need short term energy (fossil fuels) and mid term energy (nuclear) to act as stopgaps and keep economies strong enough to afford the research and development needed to reach those goals.

Wife's vehicle used to get better mileage, but I'm struggling with a few things currently. Had to replace the O2 sensors and one of the 2 catalytic converters, did the plugs and fuel injectors, then the mass air sensor, but still not running 'correctly.'

Have the TPS next......

59 I did nothing for earth day. Took some supplies in to work (wasting petroleum- a non renewable resource with my big V8 engine.) Went and got some E-Liquid (same.)

Good to know. I've always been leery of bullhide, even aside from the price, for that reason. I have an ancient (1994) pair of Justin Ropers that still fit perfectly, and a pair of Dan Post boots from 2018 that I just had resoled. The weather is too hot and humid here for me to wear my boots more than a few months a year, so they don't get a lot of wear.

I think people are more tied to the brands of a news channel than the actual personalities.

CO2 is released from the earth into the atmosphere when the planet warms - warming causes increased CO2. This is shown in ice core samples for every one of earth's warming/cooling cycles. CO2 increases on the heels of periods of warmer temps and CO2 decreases following cooler temps. The earth is still warming after the most recent little ice age in the early 1800s, thus the increase in CO2 from near plant starving lows of 300ppm (0.03%) to a more plant friendly 414ppm (0.04%) today.

? I took it to be the opposite of "alarmist". Yeah, there has been a measurable increase in CO2 in the atmosphere since we've been measuring. Yeah, there has been meteoric industrialization in the third word. Are those two things related? Possibly. Probably. Does it matter? Who knows. But the arguments that "There's so little CO2 in the atmosphere it doesn't matter" or "Human's can't affect the planet because the planet is really big" are stupid arguments that do our side no credit. The argument to make is that The Science is demonstrably fraudulent with manipulated data and laughably unsupportable conclusions drawn from it.

when the oceans and ice warm again in a warming trend, the CO2 is released. CO2 follows climate change, it does not cause it.

Oh, and Methane? To be useful in warming it has to be in the atmosphere, where it is broken down quickly by UV.

Low C02 ice core estimates are based on the assumption of no leakage. Which isn't true. The claim that C02 has been incredibly stable for basically forever(which is a result of leakage leaving very little inside ice cores) doesn't make sense in conjunction with fairly variable temperatures and claims that C02 drives temperature. It's a contradiction to begin with.

The ice core method doesn't even agree with other records constructed using different measurements in the last 200 years. Likely in the future it won't agree with C02 measurements made today.

The concentration of atmospheric CO2 has gone from roughly 310 ppm to 420 ppm since 1960. It is not an insignificant rise and is clearly man made. Whether that affects earth's T is another question.

My bud works in the power industry. The old power plants like the 'renewable energy' fields for one reason only: They provide backup power adequately enough during maintenance periods. That's it. Otherwise, they admit the renewable energy sucks and isn't sustainable for current needs.

At .02% all the plants die - which effectively kills all life on earth. And yes, I know about the things that exist near volcanic chutes in the ocean and breath H2S. By the way, they are called FOSSIL fuels because at one time in the past, all of that carbon was a living part of the biosphere.

357 The notion that we get more conservative as we age is a right wing myth. All the lefties I knew when I was growing up in the 60s are even more hardcore than they were back then. Very few of them gained any sanity over the years. The saving grace is that hardly any of them (especially the women) had kids, so we can be grateful for that.

On the other hand, conservative communities (Christians, Orthodox Jews, traditional Catholics) have lot of kids and a very good retention rate.
