I think that falls under the rubric of "play stupid games, win stupid prizes". Presumably, this was not some rando that got the cards in the mail because of postal fuckup. I mean, if something like that landed in my mailbox, I'd likely simply write "unknown at this address" on the package, and drop it in a mailbox. Probably some guy contracted to review shit like this, so if he gets the wrong cards, he's contractually bound to return them.

Its a card game, the first successful "collectable card game" in which you buy packs like baseball cards, and get random cards in them which allow you to build your own custom deck. The game has you fight another player trying to defeat them using spells and summoned creatures. The hook was that some of the cards were really powerful and rare, and you had to buy lots of packs to hopefully get what you want.

How successful was this? There are international tournaments still going on even though the game's popularity as waned quite a bit. I just sold a couple boxes of Joel's old cards for over 3000 bucks.

170 Some anecdotal history.

I was very well read in HS even though the school was very crappy. Yet I remember taking the SATs and how the reading comprehension questions were all "woke" crap. They were about black civil rights fighters, or one about a spastic kid who was a hero for being a fast runner, etc. I remember this, and I remember thinking that the bastards are selling me a message as they force me to read the text for the test. It pissed me off.

This was the late 70s. (over 20 years before 29yo me was born!)

Maybe I am just really sensitive to this crap but it has been going on for a long time.

Theater. Screwballs sweating the fact that the kids in schools ranking average & below are really well off the mark in reading, math, AP courses, etc. To that end, many of those schools have been unable to shutdown and go back to zoom for some real or imagined issue such as asbestos (Philly's go to favorite for years!), ventilation (because damn the Catholic schools just opened their windows), or they lack money because we all know the states had c19 $ to burn and everyone needed to write and adhere to a spending plan but, now, where's the $.

And if some of the better school districts don't play along, the parents will catch on whose kids have not fallen behind & they get DIE lite, art, etc. Then, since there's little or no affordable housing to move into those fabulous neighborhoods, could be trouble!

Well they used to be people; then they opened themselves up to demonic possession. Pretty confident that those two "things" use the pronouns they/them.
