Fox News Settles Dominion Defamation Lawsuit for... $787.5 Million

Almost a billion dollars.

We have to reform the courts to require a change of venue in politically-charged cases. Fox obviously settled for nearly a billion dollars because they feared the venue (Democrat bastion and home of Joe Biden, Delaware).

Fox News and Dominion Voting Systems reached a $787.5 million settlement agreement Tuesday afternoon, the parties announced, narrowly heading off a trial shortly after the jury was sworn in.

"Fox has admitted to telling lies," John Poulos, Dominion CEO, said in a press conference after the trial was ended.

"Money is accountability," said Stephen Shackelford, Jr., the attorney scheduled to give opening statements for Dominion on Tuesday.

Fox News also put out a statement.

"We acknowledge the court's rulings finding certain claims about Dominion to be false. This settlement reflects Fox's continued commitment to the highest journalistic standards," the Fox statement said. "We are hopeful that our decision to resolve this dispute with Dominion amicably, instead of the acrimony of a divisive trial, allows the country to move forward from these issues."

The resolution came after the jury had been sat but before opening statements began.

In other words: Fox's lawyer looked at the jury and pegged them as a Democrat Hanging Jury.

...

Dominion sued Fox News in 2021, demanding $1.6 billion in damages. They said the network defamed it when it broadcast baseless claims that it was tied to the late Venezuelan President Hugo Chávez, that it paid kickbacks to politicians and that its machines "rigged" the 2020 presidential election by flipping millions of votes for Trump to Biden.

Meanwhile, leftwing media-protecting judges fall over themselves to dismiss defamation lawsuits against CNN, the New York Times, NBC "News," etc., claiming that factual defamations are "protected opinions."

I'm pretty sure each example they're suing over was a guest stating an opinion or wondering what was up.

You could literally watch training videos of their site demonstrating their systems connecting to servers utilizing USB network keys to upload results.

You could watch videos of the actual systems being demonstrated, complete with COM ports and RJ45 ports for connecting to LAN/WAN networks.

None of these systems are silos, they are F**KING WINDOWS computers for G-ds sake running bullshit garbage voting software.

The left sees the world through Foucault, so they have become the self-fulfillment of Foucault. That words are only used to enforce or grab power.

Words cannot function as a neutral description of states, because Foucault tells them it's all about the distribution of power. Thus the left, in believing Foucault has a ceiling of the assignment of power, thus they don't even thing the attempt to represent the state is "neutral" anymore.

And cycle of words and power becomes a more compact spiral. To "introspect" as you imply, they might come to agree with you more, and thus they cede you power. But they want that power, so there is no reason to assent to what you think is reasonable.

It's a seriously fucked up "philosophy" that is seriously going to fuck things up increasingly.

- It can not be truthful or the existing information narrative desired by the ruling class will collapse and create chaos (good chaos.)

LOL. They would just deny it, because "the only way you would get the idea that conservatives can't get a fair case is Fox News".

At a somewhat recent J6 trial, the judge did the equivalent of admitting that a change of venue was warranted, because in speaking about the jury, the judge said "You have to remember there are a lot of people around here (DC) still angry about January 6th".

I've heard tell that DC keeps a video billboard playing tapes from January 6th, just to make every effort to taint the jury pool.

How do you prove they jammed 10k fake ballots into the system, how do you prove they flipped votes using adjudication, how do you prove anything once they wipe the servers, destroy ballot envelopes and eventually wipe systems clean with the proverbial cloth?

The "news cycle" worked to manage the Clinton impeachment. If Fox News existed back then, he very likely would have been forced to resign. And yet now the cycle is measured in days if not hours. More, the illegitimate junta is desperately trying to establish Potemkin national unity before war with Sino-Russia breaks out. That's not going to happen: if terrorists pulled another 9/11 in New York, a much larger slice of people will be apathetic at best, if not cheering them on.

All sorts of Democratic-captured organizations are wishing them 10 times the luck!

And they will be doing what they can to get their own settlement for baseless claims against Fox News.

250 > Never open the door. And be ready to "respond" when they break it down.

Yes.

Doorways are "fatal funnels" or "vertical coffins." If you go out the door into the night, and the person out there means to do you harm, they could be ANYWHERE with their gun pointed right at chest height at your door! They could be 30 yards away in the dark. They could be right along the wall. They could be behind a car. You have no idea where they are. They know exactly where you're going to be.

If you hide in the shadows with a weapon, let them work on the door while YOU wait with the weapon aimed at chest height at the door. Funnel them.

This is why conservatives will *NEVER* be able to hold Democrats to account for their crimes. They commit the majority of their crimes in Dem-friendly jurisdictions and the Dems are fanatic about closing ranks around their own. True zealots.

I think this is what makes me the angriest... and this is why Trump will probably go to prison.

It's so wrong and unfair.

252 In years to come we will see the headline- Fox caved but was actually correct that Dominion machines calculated votes incorrectly. Payoff to Pres Biden 15 million clams.

253 That's not going to happen: if terrorists pulled another 9/11 in New York, a much larger slice of people will be apathetic at best, if not cheering them on.

True dat. I don't give a damn if big blue takes a body blow any more than NYers would care if someone hit my town. I think we're past the point of pretending this is still a functioning political unit, at least at the street level.

Tucker could be controlled opposition, or merelt a New Yorker who's far too late in realizing that his network is betraying everything it professed to stand for. Letting the Paul Ryan types squelch his January 6th reporting was likely the last straw for him.

It doesn't matter: between the jabs, election theft, Epsteinism, and especially the Trump indictments, there is a vast populist uprising that even Donald Trump can no longer totally control. The oligarchy may be able to win a massive battle against the American people- but not while simultaneously waging war with Russia and China. At this point Chinese soldiers could promise to drag the mutilated corpses of American Congressmen through the streets... and see an INCREASE in their popularity.

Posted by: King George at April 18, 2023 06:01 PM (oHd/0)

It's not the same tech. Diebold was first bought by ES&S and that fell through on anti-trust grounds. Dominion bought the pieces and sent it out to pasture.

270 Tell that to the J6 folks still sitting in prison for believing this bullshit in the first place.

They're in prison due to grotesque unconstitutional prosecutorial overreach by a vile corrupt illegitimate regime making damn sure no one will ever question the "results" of elections in Your Precious Democracy again, no matter how blatantly obvious the manipulation.

That you would put the blame on anyone daring to raise questions about the shitty garbage Dominion fraud machines is about par for the course, and puts you in good company with your piece of shit "President" and his criminal junta.

271 Posted by: spindrift at April 18, 2023 06:57 PM (5iTH5)

They're still in prison because Trump left them there when he could've issued a blanket pardon. Full stop.

Carter pardoned all the draft-dodgers whether charged or not and without even knowing who they all were so don't say he couldn't have.

Posted by: Brian in New Orleans at April 18, 2023 07:08 PM (98o/I)

272 You said they were in prison because Fox News gave them misinformation about your wonderful precious perfect Dominion machines, you stupid lying fuck. You said that in this very thread.

And what was this magical pardon going to cover - any alleged crimes purported to have happened in that particular area on that particular day?
