Trump Travels to New York For Arraignment by the Soros Prosecutor; Plans to Deliver a Speech Tomorrow
He's scheduled to appear in the Soros Prosecutor's Star Chamber at 2:15.
This is absurd -- they're going to put a gag order on a presidential candidate as they attempt to criminalize a non-criminal act.
Former President Donald Trump announced Sunday that he will "deliver remarks" at his Mar-a-Lago Florida resort following his first appearance in Manhattan court on charges tied to the Stormy Daniels "hush money" payment. Trump, 76, will speak from his Palm Beach home and resort at 8:15 p.m. Tuesday, his campaign said in an emailed statement. The speech -- Trump's first since a grand jury voted to indict him last week -- would follow his scheduled 2:15 p.m. arraignment in Manhattan Supreme Court. But the address to his supporters could reveal very little about the case should the judge decide to impose a gag order on Trump during the hearing.
I imagine almost all of those will be duplicative -- charging multiple crimes, as many as can be dreamed up, for the same few actions. At least the judge is unbiased:
Legal experts have said such an order, which would silence the 2024 presidential hopeful, would not be unusual, noting they are fairly common in high-profile cases. A source close to Trump's legal team, however, told The Post on Sunday his attorneys are not anticipating a gag order will be issued. ... He's set to turn himself in to the Manhattan District Attorney's Office on Tuesday, arriving at the courthouse two to three hours ahead of the hearing to be fingerprinted and have his mugshot taken, a source with knowledge of the situation told The Post.

The specifics of the indictment, which remain under seal, will be disclosed at the arraignment. Reports say Trump will be hit with more than 30 counts, including at least one felony.

Justice Juan Merchan, who oversaw the trial involving the Trump Organization that resulted in the company paying a $1.6 million penalty, is expected to preside over the arraignment, which will take place in the same courtroom where the company was tried and convicted of tax fraud in December. Trump lashed out at the judge, saying he "railroaded" former Trump Organization CFO Allen Weisselberg, who is serving time on Rikers Island after pleading guilty to tax fraud charges. "The Judge 'assigned' to my Witch Hunt Case, a 'Case' that has NEVER BEEN CHARGED BEFORE, HATES ME. His name is Juan Manuel Marchan, was hand picked by Bragg & the Prosecutors," Trump wrote Friday, misspelling Merchan's name.

Its a run of the mill he said she said, and we don't want to taint the jury, etc etc. And there are limitations to gag orders, they have to be reasonable. This is pretty politically charged, well discussed in public ALREADY and there's really no secret to be kept, except may specifically quoting Grand Jury testimony - except some witnesses have already given extensive interviews. The grand jury appearances are related to the Special Counsel Jack Smith probe into the handling of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago.

In the trumped up charges against Trump, they are inferring that the non-reporting of the financial payout from personal funds, violated federal election laws.

Edwards case was a mistrial and then DOJ dropped it.
Theories of the case are similar- that spending on reputational damage control by or on behalf of a candidate is thus a campaign expenditure. But the facts are different.
As the Edwards case was Federal and was a mistrial it doesn't really offer any basis for decisions.

Again I say, my interest is in the plan itself rather than the guy who put it together. All I care about is whether it can work or not. It sounds to me like it can, and ad hominem attacks alone aren't going to change my mind on that.
Organizing on the local level, via something like a militia system that's responsibly run and under the jurisdiction of counties or other local officials, is a course of action I don't see any downside in. It would illustrate the problem with "narratives" about enemies rather than "truth" about them. All the "those people worship Trump" ideas, for example. If a person (or political movement) is running on narratives they'll expect certain results and not get them, or get something very different.
Such as Obama explaining away the benighted voters in flyover (was it New York state? Pennsylvania?) as "bitterly clinging to guns and religion." They were doing so because of loosing jobs, he explained. But was he right? Or was he going via a Marxist influenced narrative where religion was only to make people feel better about their oppression, and jobs, the blue collar working class, was *supposed* to like the Marxist narrative. The guns and religion had to be a cope.
But all I see left-ward is a very strange insistence on narrative as reality, beginning with anyone opposing the left as "racist" and ending with... more or less the same thing. Trump is a criminal, not for what he's done, clearly, but because it's his ESSENCE and it's his desires and motivation. Nothing needs be objective, everything is feelings.

I personally believe Trump's conviction is a given. He's going down. People who think any other outcome is possible still hold to the naive belief we still have a Republic, with rule of law and checks and balances and an unbiased judicial system. Of course the charges are spurious, of course the judge is partisan, of course the jury will be rigged. Yet you think he's somehow going to walk.
Fun family story: My son Jake married a lovely Belarusian girl. Last year, our whole family went out to dinner and my uber-liberal daughter Maggie and I were arguing politics, as we do. Our debate wasn't heated; I've encouraged my kids to make the case when it comes to political views. We love each other in spite of our differences. Katya became visibly distressed and begged us to stop. Nobody talks politics in her home country. Talk too loudly and the secret police show up at your door at midnight and drag you away, never to be seen for years, if at all.
You think that can't happen here. I'm telling you it's coming, and soon.
