The John and Gisele Fetterman Romance: A Ken Burns Documentary

From the Los Angeles Blade, December 12, 2022: Meet the Bisexual Wife of Pennsylvania's New US Senator.

Sub-hed: When the Washington Blade caught up with Gisele Barreto Fetterman this month, she was looking forward to some upcoming travel plans

Yeah I'll bet she was!!!

fettermanaposs-wife-gisele-and-children-flee-to-canada-to-avoid-media.png

When the Washington Blade caught up with Gisele Barreto Fetterman this month, she was looking forward to some upcoming travel plans.

First up is a trip to Washington in January to witness the swearing-in ceremony for her husband, Pennsylvania Lt. Gov. John Fetterman, who was just elected to represent the Keystone State in the U.S. Senate after one of the year's most hard-fought midterm races.

Then, in March, she plans to visit family in Brazil for the first time since travel to her native country was restricted in the early days of the pandemic, and just in time to celebrate another electoral victory as Brazilian voters have ousted their far-right President Jair Bolsonaro.

This bisexual girlboss lived as an illegal alien in the US for something like 12 years.

Regarding the right-wing attacks that were focused on her identity as a bisexual woman and immigrant from Latin America, she jokes, "they made me sound like a superhero."

She expounded upon her theories about how to honor and obey one's (yuch!) husband.

She also shares photos on social media with her 6-foot-8 husband's head partially cropped out so that her shoes are visible in the frame, and insists that their marriage operates with the unspoken understanding that Gisele is always right when there are differences of opinion.

On that latter point, should anyone long for the same dynamic with their spouse or significant other, Gisele Fetterman offers the following advice: "You just have to be really confident in your truth," she said, adding, "then you just, like, ignore him when he's speaking."

America's foremost Pompous Documentarian Ken Burns has been collecting the correspondence of John and Gisele Fetterman. He has shared with me their most recent exchanges, which I will now share with you.

I think you will agree that this love is a fire whose embers will smolder and glow throughout eternity.

You may find that John's letters are best accompanied with this musical accompaniment, and that Gisele's flow nicely with this.

She needs to hook up with John Kerry. They can devour one another in fits of terminal Golddiggery. It would be like Gollum vs. Gollum in the Death Match for the Gold Ring.

Last serious girlfriend I had (dated from 2003 to 2005, discussed getting married), she brought up this attitude in a conversation we had about the state of America's education system. I was reading at the time about how terrible things were and she -- at the time only a substitute teacher, recently graduated from college with History degree -- was adamant that Michigan schools were not like that.

155 From Red State:

The latest WaPo effort to rescue Gisele Fetterman...columnist Monica Hesse not only trotted out the “woman card” to explain the attacks from conservatives on Mrs. Fetterman, but also equated Fetterman’s alleged plight to that of rape victims who are blamed for their assaults:

I started my twice-a-decade rereading of “The Handmaid’s Tale” a few nights ago...one scene that sticks...is when the miserable Janine is made to recount her sexual assault, then to assume responsibility for it. "Her fault, her fault", Janine’s fellow trainees chant, surrounding her and pointing. This is the magic trick of Gilead’s worldview; this is the magic trick of a lot of conservative worldviews.

Naturally, Gisele Fetterman picked up the ball and ran with it, tweeting "In the worst moments of their lives, women are told it's their fault. In case you need to hear it today: It's. Not. Your. Fault".

The last time I stepped foot in a church was my Father's funeral. During planning, the pastor forbade us to sing his favorite Hymn, Onward Christian Soldier.

This was the Methodist church I had been raised in... sang in the choir... altar boy...

and yes, the Hymn was in the approved Methodist Hymn book, that sat on the back of the Piew, that had a plaque commemorating how much my Family had given to that church over the decades.

365 Heh. Ace, another thread worthy of capturing to keep for all times. (Or until the cellphone die.)

The Senate has never seen anything like Gisele F; she'll be bringing the Squad-like fun & drama to its midst. She's very, very good at that. Had you seen her carnival-clad photos that sparked quite the political conversations - and more - in PA 3 years ago?

She plays to a very broad audience - has a PhD mom; talks about shopping for her own wardrobe in thrift stores; claims she's a Sudoku champion; always in the spotlight attending her three kids' school programs; has said she always had an interest in criminal justice & wanted to be a prison warden since she was a child, thus visiting at least one SCI, and played hubby's last campaign very well, letting other groups attack Oz in lieu of any direct political engagement.

Oh, Chuck Schumer won't put up with that, they say. He might keep the Fettermans under wraps for a bit but he was last endorsed by the Working Families Party and, in PA, they & the blue haired ladies for decency adore her.

All around The Wolf of Wall Street is a better film, but the insanity of the first half hour of Babylon is next level stuff. Wolf seems tame in comparison.

I think I'm going to end up with a recommendation to watch the first half hour and not the rest. The rest isn't terrible, but it's overlong, unfocused, and a bit of a chore.

The first day of filming sound is another set piece that deserves attention, though. It's like Singin' in the Rain but vulgar and hilarious.

However, the GSI this week stressed that the new figure reflected advances in surveying technology and the detail of the maps used for the count – it did not change the overall area of land in Japan’s possession.

437 Japan has recounted its islands – and discovered it has 7,000 more than it previously thought.

Digital mapping by the Geospatial Information Authority of Japan (GSI) recently found there to be 14,125 islands in Japanese territory, more than double the figure of 6,852 that has been in official use since a 1987 report by Japan’s Coast Guard.

However, the GSI this week stressed that the new figure reflected advances in surveying technology and the detail of the maps used for the count – it did not change the overall area of land in Japan’s possession.

“When this threat tag came out, it was like, why are you focusing on pro-life people?” O’Boyle’s transcript allegedly reads. “It’s pro-choice people who are the ones protesting or otherwise threatening violence in front of Supreme Court justices’ houses.”

O’Boyle said the FBI wanted agents to “look into” pro-life pregnancy centers, which he said he was confused by because pregnancy resource centers were more likely to receive threats following the Supreme Court’s Dobbs decision, according to the report. O’Boyle also allegedly told the panel that he was instructed to ask a confidential human source, who he said was pro-life, “a bunch of questions about the threats to the Supreme Court.”

499 he said all that about the popular literature being poe, dickens, the Bible, etc., and people really talking like that, even the cowboys.

That's not precisely true, there were more than a few people who didn't have the education and were isolated from that kind of thing. Trapper Joe living in the mountains didn't rea Dickens and spoke to white people so rarely sometimes they were almost unable to talk.

The level of education was higher, when they could get it, than today, and certainly people tended to have better dialog skills (Doc Holiday Tombstone is another example) but not EVERYONE spoke like that. The hookers upstairs from the tavern didn't talk like Shakespeare.

And profanity was restrained around women or in public spaces by most, because it was considered crude and impolite. Between the boys at the camp, sure. At the dance and picnic, no. Its like the military today, guys can be unbelievably foul and profane, but they hold off on that stuff at church.

501 482 I did not fully appreciate Edward G.'s terrific acting until I saw some of his under the radar 30's and 40's movies on TCM. Notably, "Bullets Not Ballots" (with Bogart as the bad guy), "Mr. Blandings Goes to War" (middle-aged Edward G. is drafted), and "The Stranger" (co-starring Orson Welles as a big shot Nazi hiding in a small New England town after the war).

505 Why would you base your feelings on Christianity on those who profess being Christian but intentionally go against its teachings? Jesus specifically warned that would happen.

Posted by: polynikes at March 03, 2023 01:37 PM

I have never known Jesus other than through what other people have told me about Him. Raised Catholic, Catholic Church, Catholic elementary school, altar boy, Catholic High School.

But all through that, I always was questioning how things just didn't seem to make sense to me. The way I feel now is that faith is not about faith in god(s) or religion, but faith in the people who taught us about god(s)/religion. (i.e. I wouldn't believe in god(s) if someone didn't first tell me they existed). So if I don't trust the people who taught me about religion in the first place, I am not going to trust the religion(s)/god(s) either.

I still respect those who choose to believe in whatever faith they choose, but for me, none of it makes any sense anymore. Not sure it ever did for me.

609 509 House lawmakers are prohibited from accepting gifts such as "a gratuity, favor, discount, entertainment, hospitality, loan, forbearance or other item having monetary value," the news outlet also reports.

During the September 2021 gala, Ocasio-Cortez was given "a couture dress, handbag, shoes, and jewelry," the ethics report states. "She also received hair, makeup, transportation and ready-room services."

The dress was a floor-length gown designed by Aurora James with “Tax the Rich” emblazoned in red on the back.

Her partner, Riley Roberts, received a bow tie and shoes for the event, NBC also reports.

The Word is supposed to reveal God, so if it is truly inspired of God, not just writings of men, that would be more direct.

But sure, men interpreted and translated, so just how we got it all in writing can certainly be questioned. imo most of the institutional churches have been compromised, but the scribes did a decent job on loyalty to the original texts.
