The Morning Report — 2/9/23

bidenkwainordst.jpg

Good morning kids. Before getting into the main event, I give you your combination comedy relief/emetic for the day. Dig this:

Fox News: Sen. John Fetterman Hospitalized After "Feeling Lightheaded" at Senate Democrat Retreat – Sen. Fetterman's hospitalization does not appear to be related to his previous stroke, his office said.

John Fetterman "feeling lightheaded." Where do I even begin with that one?! I guess creepy Morticia the wife will do the Edith Wilson mambo and slip into something more comfortable. Like a Senate seat.

We now return to our regularly scheduled meshugas already in progress . . .

* * * * *

Yet again, we're hit with one of those absolutely disturbing but completely unsurprising stories. What pisses me off is that they are perfectly timed to break after we record a podcast (which will be in the sidebar a bit later this morning, and it's another good one), but I digress.

In the wake of last June's mysterious explosion that sabotaged the NordStream pipeline, many people were blaming Vladimir Putin. It's illogical on the face of it since the pipeline is a major if not the major means by which he transports Russian oil to Europe, whom he has over a barrel (pun intended) when it comes to energy. It could have been accidental since Russia historically has been notorious for poorly designed infrastructure and lack of maintenance, especially since the collapse of the Soviet Union. However, given the situation, that would've been just way too coincidental.

No, for sure it was sabotage. But the question is by whom? Cui bono? I stated that, like so many other things, it would not surprise me to learn that the United States, that is the criminally irresponsible and illegitimate junta that is running the country, ordered one or more military assets to sabotage the pipeline. Lo and behold, the pieces of the puzzle have been put together by a rather surprising source:

The United States government blew up the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline connecting Russian suppliers to our allies Germany last year, according to a bombshell report from Seymour Hersh.

The New York Times called it a ‘mystery,'” wrote Hersh, “but the United States executed a covert sea operation that was kept secret — until now.”

Hersh cites an anonymous source “with direct knowledge of the operational planning” who claimed that Navy divers, operating under the cover of NATO’s annual BALTOPS exercise last June, planted remotely-operated explosives that were detonated months later, last September.

White House spokeswoman Adrienne Watson told Hersh in an email that “This is false and complete fiction.”

“This claim is completely and utterly false,” a CIA spokeswoman wrote.

German authorities claimed last week Berlin’s investigators “currently have no evidence that Russia is behind the explosions on the Nord Stream 1 and 2 gas pipelines.” The Kremlin denied any involvement, although the CIA claimed that Russian submarines were detected in the area where the explosions occurred just one day before the leaks were detected.

Swedish investigators called the leaks “gross sabotage” in November due to “explosive residue [that] was identified on a number of the seized and analyzed foreign items. . . ”

. . . Hersh claims that “Biden’s decision to sabotage the pipelines came after more than nine months of highly secret back and forth debate inside Washington’s national security community about how to best” stop Russian strongman Vladimir Putin from weaponizing “natural gas for his political and territorial ambitions.”

The U.S. Navy’s innocuously named Diving and Salvage Center on the Florida panhandle is home to “highly skilled deep-water divers” who are “capable of technical diving to do the good — using C4 explosives to clear harbors and beaches of debris and unexploded ordinance — as well as the bad, like blowing up foreign oil rigs,” according to Hersh.

They’re the ones who reportedly planted the bombs that went off in September.

Bombs that, if they really were planted by the U.S. Navy, shut off natural gas to a NATO ally in the weeks before winter weather descended on Europe. . .

. . . Hersh is not always the most reliable source, but between Nord Stream and Keystone XL, it’s fair to ask: What does this administration have against energy pipelines, anyway?

For the benefit of those who earned an advanced degree from an Ivy League school or a braindead leftist (BIRM), the junta gets to help Global Reset Mafia accelerate the destruction of western civilization and get rid of a perceived rival who may not necessarily be on board with that program. Plus, the preceding five years of falsely tying Putin to Donald Trump is the crème fraiche on the blini, if you will, and sinks both of them at once.

Look, I have my problems with Sy Hersh. Big problems, as you can read here from his rap sheet at the invaluable Discover The Networks. Here's kind of a cromulent excerpt:

The passion that drives Hersh has often manifested as genuine hatred for American leaders, the projection of American power, and the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA).

Hersh’s Blame-America-First choice of targets for his hatred prompted the then-Executive Editor of the New York Times A.M. Rosenthal to refer routinely to Hersh as “my little commie.” Among the targets of Hersh’s reporting in both The Times and his books were the overthrow of Chile’s Marxist President Salvadore Allende, according to Hersh with CIA contrivance, and what Hersh saw as the evil of President Richard M. Nixon’s National Security Advisor and Secretary of State Henry Kissinger.

In 1997 Hersh shocked conventional liberals with a book exposing the clay feet of their icon and martyr President John F. Kennedy. In The Dark Side of Camelot (Little, Brown) Hersh delved into JFK’s extramarital relationships and his other shortcomings.

Hersh made his bones, so to speak with his reportage of the My Lai massacre during the Vietnam War. All well and good. The problem is the (anti) American Left used that incident as a means to smear the entirety of the American military, and the nation itself as essentially no different than the Waffen SS and the Einsatzgruppen. Not long after, a certain veteran by the name of John Forbes Kerry testified before a Congressional committee to that effect, and it led to the further hamstringing of our military whenever we have deployed our military in the ensuing decades up to this very day. And Kerry just happens to be a major capo in the Global Reset Mafia who has been trying his best to give nukes to Iran and destroy our energy sector. Psaki that psircle back to Nord Stream with a big fat bow.

As for Hersh, given what we know about the CIA, the FBI/DOJ, and the military with its penchant for insubordination with the treasonous actions we noted yesterday in refusing to obey Trump's orders to withdraw from Syria, Vanilli Milley's parlaying with the Chi-Coms assuring them that he'd disobey any Trump order for military action against them, Bearclaw Vindman's bullshit, etc. etc., at the very least you cannot dismiss his reporting out of hand. And that is exactly what the Biden junta is doing.

So now, in addition to Naomi Wolf, Bobby Kennedy Jr., Matt Taibbi, and others, Sy Hersh is revealing himself to be intellectually honest, regardless of what his personal politics may or may not be. I guess it goes hand in hand with the rank hypocrisy of the Left. I mean, the refrain ad nauseam which was shrieked at a volume that could make a dead man's ears bleed was "NO BLOOD FOR OIL!" 30 years earlier it was "HELL NO, WE WON'T GO!"

The same assholes who were shrieking that – embodied perfectly in the persona of John Kerry – are not only oddly silent, but even itching to go to war with Russia, nuclear missile-armed Russia, for exactly those reasons. During the Dubya years, when she wasn't camped out at his Crawford, TX ranch with news crews from every media outlet recording her every fart and belch, Cindy Sheehan had a reserved seat in the gallery during all of his SOTU speeches.

Where is Cindy Sheehan today? I'd like to give her the benefit of the doubt and say perhaps she too sees what the hell is going on but is being effectively held incommunicado by the Junta's propaganda wing.

Given all of this, and speaking of SOTU speeches, I'd like to wring Mitch McConnell's quadruple-chinned begoitered turkey neck with that repulsive blue and yellow tie he wore at Biden's magic show the other night. Rhetorically speaking, of course.

By the way, if what Hersh claims is true, it constitutes an ACT OF WAR by the United States of America against the Russian Federation. No biggie, right?

Ho. Lee. Fook.

  • According to this unnamed whistleblower, O’Keefe has fallen victim to a lack of proper corporate structure at Project Veritas, which is divided into two separate organizations with different boards and funding. The whistleblower alleges that two ringleaders, Matt Tyrmand and Barry Hinckley, have taken advantage of the situation to push O’Keefe out. The board members and C-suite officers involved in the attempt to remove O’Keefe are listed in the Twitter thread. The whistleblower describes the board’s decision as a “Stalinesque kangaroo court trial.”

The only question is if it was some cheap-ass payoff that wasn't even a noticeable amount to the trillion-dollar multinational corporation, or if it was something closer to reminding the board members how that young politically-connected kid in Georgia died in a massive explosion after a minor sideswipe in his car, and if any of their family owned cars?

If there was a murder, and an irritable, uncontrolled person had promised a room full of witnesses that he was going to kill the person if the now-dead person performed a certain action, it would be inappropriate to assume that the man making the promise to murder the person had committed the murder.

That's Science.

22 Why has fare jumping gotten so common? In 2019, the D.C. City Council decriminalized it—reducing it to a civil offense with a mere $50 fine—and enforcement plummeted. In 2021, less than 300 citations for fare evasion were issued, compared to more than 15,000 in 2017, and all of those were issued in Maryland or Virginia, where the District’s measure did not apply.

Not a dems are criminals but every criminal is a DEM.

24 Nut kills two and seriously injures six other children after deliberately driving a city bus into a daycare building.

||Two children have died and six have been injured after a city bus crashed into a daycare centre in Quebec.

Police in the city of Laval said the bus had ploughed into the centre at around 8:30am on Wednesday morning, in what witnesses described as a deliberate act.

Officials named the man behind the wheel as Pierre Ny St-Amand, 51, who has been arrested on charges of homicide and dangerous driving and will appear in court on Wednesday afternoon. [...]

He then described how the driver stepped out of the bus, removed all his clothing, and began screaming incoherently, forcing Ben Chaabane and several other parents to subdue him before trying to rescue children whohad been trapped under the bus.

As many as 12 people required medical attention, with eight others taken to hospitals, according to the local ambulance service Urgences-santé.||

"If Russia invades, that means tanks or troops crossing the ... border of Ukraine again, then there will be ... no longer a Nord Stream 2. We, we will bring an end to it," Biden said. Asked how, given the project is in German control, Biden said: "I promise you, we'll be able to do it."

59 By the way, if what Hersh claims is true, it constitutes an ACT OF WAR by the United States of America against the Russian Federation. No biggie, right?
++++
Which is why I think the article is stasis. I've read it. Much of it seems reasonable enough, perhaps even compelling. Despite that, however, three key factors remain unaddressed:
1. Hersh's own credibility isn't exactly great
2. If Hersh's article is correct, the destruction of the Nordstream pipelines was a clandestine and well-planned act of war as a part of top-level strategy hatched by the highest power offices of government. This wasn't some scheme perpetrated by mid-level officers like the attempted USSR nuking of Honolulu, this came right from the top
3. If Hersh's article is correct, those top-level power officers won't want that coming out, except on their own timetable. If this is not their timetable - it remains to be seen - then they are not above outright killing anyone who promotes the story, and those who would promote the story damn well know it.

The United States government blew up the Nord Stream natural gas pipeline connecting Russian suppliers to our allies Germany last year, according to a bombshell report from Seymour Hersh.

Does Seymour Hersh know how to interpret a map? The gas exits Russia, passes through Germany then under the Baltic. There are certainly shutoff in Germany. Therefor gas can still flow to Germany. Sweden and Norway are the only two countries impacted. But they have their own gas pipeline to Europe.

They're the ones I would most suspect.

Not everyone blamed Biden. There has been - and there continues to be - vigorous disagreement about possible causes from accidents to Biden to Putin to the English to the Poles. But most people here do settle on one common conclusion: it doesn't make sense that Putin would have done it himself.

Ruling out Putin is fairly easy, which alone would make one wonder whether it actually *was* him, except that "Cui bono" becomes harder to answer. It would not surprise me at all if we did it. It would shock me if Russia did it.

And this is an actual serious problem coming out of the COVID experience. Pandemics do happen. Pandemic flu is bad. Pandemic COVID was bad, too, at the beginning. Much like a pandemic flu, COVID killed a lot of people when it swept out. But that doesn't matter anymore. The public health complex - all of it, worldwide - is destroyed in terms of credibility. There could be a literal zombie virus sweeping the world turning people into flesh-eating monsters and nobody would listen to them about it. Their credibility is shot. Nobody listens. Nobody believes them.

92 Eventually, some of these entertainment franchises will be revived and when it happens, those in charge of them will have to make some tough decisions and my bet is that a ton of recent stuff will just be stripped from canon and ignored. Marvel Phase IV? Never happened. Star Wars Disney+ programs? Never happened. CBS All Access Star Trek programs? Never happened. Disney Indiana Jones? Never happened. Amazon Lord of the Rings programs? Never happened.

These franchises are all dead and cannot be salvaged without one hell of a retcon and the current owners can't do it. These franchises will ebb and vanish, eventually be sold off, and someone else will try again, likely by excising vast expanses of the story to date.

Consolidation and subsequent censorship power. Before 2004, the Internet was a fairly free place. Even in the walled gardens like AOL, you could climb over the wall and use the wider web fairly easily. It was the wild west where anyone could hang out his shingle for a little bit of money and try his hand. This site we're on now is one of the stone-age holdouts of that era.

Then Facebook happened and was a vision of things to come. It was a compelling product and its rollout was handled cleverly (though not as a scheme to rule the world - Zuckerberg's parochialism was important). The web started to consolidate onto the platforms and they became "The Web." The Web as we knew it died. iPhone was the force multiplier. Now "The Web" is really just a handful of platforms with censorship power.

I think it's worse than that. Some of the destruction has been deliberate, to be sure. Johnson did seek to destroy a lot of Star Wars with "The Last Jedi," for example, and Gao sought to destroy She-Hulk with her show. But all of the people - in fact, probably not even *most* of the people - who are making this destructive content set out to ruin what they inherited.

Their culture and their ideology is inherently destructive. Like scorpion who stung the toad, it is in their nature. To touch is to ruin, motivations and intent notwithstanding.

In a way, I almost admire this. You take a character from a famous film franchise, shoehorn them into a sexual perversion box when 'sex' beyond the standard boy-meets-girl didn't exist in the original and not only do you destroy the character and the franchise, you have the added titillation of knowing no-one can challenge the change without being hounded from the public square and that even with people complaining, you still have enough suckers who will pony up the cash to keep your perversion vision afloat for years to come.

As the man said, nice work if you can get it.

80% of the votes recorded in Philadelphia went for Fetterman. Whether that's a fraudulent number or not I don't know. But unless the GOP can somehow get turnout way higher in the rest of the state we're doomed to being a blue state, with a boot on our face forever.

Hi Blake! Yes, he came home from the hospital last week and is undergoing lots of different therapies. A couple days ago they found out that he is paralyzed from the knee down on his left leg, so they have a neurologist appointment next Friday to try to determine the reason. They are hoping something can be done for that.

The prequels were bad story, bad characters and bad acting and effects. BUT they were not intentionally bad. There was just no one to tell George no. And there were one or two good bits in there out of the three. Not many, I'll grant.

174 You know, I really couldn't give two shits about Russia's pipelines for the sake of Russia. Call me callous if you must.

But here's the thing, America didn't just destroy their pipelines as a means of injuring Russia and accomplish that goal. Because America has kept Europe from going dry on natural gas by supplanting it with imports from American oil and gas companies.

Marvelous! you say. Except that the increased market has driven up the heating cost for Americans astronomically. Just as an anecdote (because I don't feel like going and looking up historic prices at the moment), my mother's refill on gas went from $1800 to $2500 year over year. I'm sure other Hordians can testify to price hikes as well.

We are bleeding the wealth of our own citizenry so that Putin doesn't make money. I can't explain how that is in any way 'good' for the American people.

Okay well, I can find one way to explain it, in 2022 the American oil and gas industry turned $219 billion in profits as opposed to $100 billion in 2021. So it is helping some Americans, a select few elite ones.

Simmons admitted to having a sexual relationship with Charles and claimed that his wife was involved recorded and watched their sexual encounters, WSB-TV reported.

The investigation concluded that there was sufficient evidence that Simmons and Charles had sex on school property. As a result, both individuals are no longer teaching at Banks County Elementary School.||

It is pretty much his signature life's work. It is THE thing he did that impacted the world the most. I can completely understand him wanting to get it back and setting up a situation to where even if he could not do the work, it would be in the hands of people who could breathe new life into it and who loved it.

If we blew up Nordstream, it is a casus belli for Russia, but also for most of Central and Western Europe. They are powerless to do anything about it, but they would be justified in launching a war over it. It hurts them at least as much as it hurts Russia.

I mentioned this on one of the podcasts with JJ and CBD. For or better or for worse, Europe is ours now for the foreseeable future. The war in Ukraine, the response to that war and the failure of the Nordstream pipeline (whatever the cause) have left them with no other choices. Germany can - and possibly will - replace Russian gas with African gas, but that's a major development project and will take many years.

I tend to agree. Taking a step back and looking at the story as a whole, the Skywalker Saga at its core is about a man who dooms himself through his own choices but finds redemption through the love of his son. It's a very old, classic story, and maybe not told as well as it could have been told. It's not nearly as horrible as many people make it out to be.

I mean around here (Chadds Ford-ish) yes you do see them. Farmers are ornery and we still have a few. but the rest of the east of PA I dunno

sometimes you see them in places like Bucks or DelCo where people are just SO FED UP but they are ruled by dems now, completely.

and yes it's a lot of fraud here. A LOT. they got Philly obviously and for decades. and now they have a "way" to get the collar - a lot of population here now so you can hide the fake votes better.

Posted by: Sponge - F*ck Joe Biden at February 09, 2023 08:35 AM (Zz0t1)

It was... a different kind of shit and intent. Lucas focused too much on the kid/toy aspects. On the one hand, he wanted very young kids to be interested, while still serving the older generation of fans. That is one reason you have such a disjointed mishmash in the prequels. I have never doubted for a moment though that Lucas loved the property. For itself, not as a vehicle for politics.

What largely killed the execution was two things:

1. The actors/dialogue for Anakin
2. The prequels were super heavy on exposition. Lots of off-hand references in the OT get detailed explanations, like The Clone Wars. That has its own benefits but detracts from the experience as a soap opera focused on the Skywalker family.

Okay, fair enough. Banging your mistress on school property while your wife videotapes it is wildly inappropriate and being fired for that is sensible and proper.

It is a bit ironic, though, isn't it? A guy bangs his mistress while his wife gets off in the corner - which is weird, but all between adults - and gets fired for it, while guys who actively groom children into sexual deviance and cover up on-campus sexual assaults retain their positions.

I think that's true but I ALSO think "nobody was gonna vote for Doug" and that was the larger problem.

Traditionally here in PA the West holds a lot of political cards and they usually determine the nominee. but despite PA's stubbornness, times have changed and the eastern part (southeastern) now has all the population. Pittsburgh area is not doing well. So Doug just didn't fit and without a Governor candidate a lot of people just didn't care. And Oz himself didn't help

But the main theme, that the US placed explosives during BALTOPS22 has been well known and explored since September.

I think the story was going to come out anyway, he wanted to get his spin on it. It is NOT some principled whistleblower revealing the lawlessness of the Biden administration. It is someone trying to get out from under a criminal charge.

Clearly the source is someone deeply involved in the planning and execution. If its a war crime or international incident he was a part of it. But Hersh's article says it is the source who tried to warn the planning cell off, saying this is an act of war. But he was overruled.

So some junior high kids were watching internet porn and saw their teacher. Did they rat her out, or did they boast about it, resulting in the authorities responding to it? My bet is on the latter.

Whatever the absolute cost - and mine is not bad compared to many places, and I know it - the relative price movement is brutal. 50% is 50%, even if the total dollar cost is still modest by comparison.

Most regulations are passed on behalf of large companies within a sector (which is why the right is anti-regulation). This is basically Adam Smith stuff.

397 376 One of my political laughs for the day is James Carville-the friend and advisor to the Clintons-saying that Marjorie Taylor Greene dresses like white trash. Not that the Clintons dressed like white trash-but they were white trash-just murderous, incredibly wealthy white trash.
Posted by: FenelonSpoke at February 09, 2023 09:16 AM

Funny how the Democrat party portrays itself as the party of women and thr working poor, but constantly says things like this. Just like when Carville slandered one of Bill's rape victims by basically calling her a white trash hoe:

"You drag $100 bills through trailer parks -- there's no tellin' what you'll find. I know these people (the accusers). I went to school with 'em. I necked with 'em in backseats. I spent nights with 'em."

So respectful of women and the poor...vote Blue no matter who (raped you)!!!

404 I take Hersh with a grain of salt. However, there's not too many countries that has the capabilities of doing this so expertly. One is Russia, who have no motive to destroy a pipeline that they control and simply turn off onshore. I can't see a western European country doing this on their own hook. That leaves the U.S. We have the best motive, opportunity and expertise to do this. But again, considering how much we dithered about shooting down a damn balloon, I have a hard time believing that anyone in authority here ok'd such a reckless and dangerous operation.

The biggest casualty of this will be the reserve trading currency.

The west has frozen and is in the process of confiscating $300 billion in Russian dollar reserves.

The world is watching European and American banking interests literally loot hundreds of billions of dollars in violation of international law. Alternate currency trades are already emerging as countries have begun trading in petro-yuan and clearing Russian trades in rubles.

This whole episode has the potential of completely upending the global trading scheme. The world has lost a lot of faith in the global financial system as a neutral apolitical entity having seen its weaponization.

Why disrupt your own operations instead of the operations of adversaries? Taking a hit to your own production while everyone else keeps pumping doesn't really work out math-wise, which is why OPEC is a thing. If they could get everyone to collectively cut, sure that's a win. But just losing their investment in Venezuela isn't a positive.

Another thing to keep in mind is that the US oil industry collapsed the price of oil by making massive investments in US shale production. Hindsight this was a very unprofitable course of action, but they certainly weren't behaving as though they were aiming to constrain production at that time.
