Sarah Huckabee Sanders: "The Dividing Line in America Is No Longer Between Left and Right. The Choice Is Between Normal and Crazy."

I had tuned out of The All-American Flankerback's festival of slurred lies and was doing some stretching when Sarah Huckabee Sanders began what I thought would be another poorly-received, listless rebuttal.

But she set the left on fire.

Contrasting herself with Biden, Sanders said "At 40, I'm the youngest governor in the country. At 80, he's the oldest president in American history. I'm the first woman to lead my state, he's the first man to surrender his presidency to a woke mob that can't even tell you what a woman is," the governor said, rightly turning up the heat on Democrats.

lasting Biden and the "radical left" for its vision for Americans that "taxes you and lights your hard-earned money on fire" while "you get crushed with high gas prices, empty grocery shelves, and our children are taught to hate one another on account of their race, but not to love one another or our great country," Sanders didn't let those across the aisle off the hook for anything.

"Whether Joe Biden believes this madness or is simply too weak to resist it, his administration has been completely hijacked by the radical left," Sanders said. "The dividing line in America is no longer between right or left -- the choice is between normal or crazy."

While her fledgling administration acted swiftly to roll back woke policies starting on day one, Sanders contrasted the freedom of thought and conscience championed by Republicans with the left's intolerance that requires Americans to "partake in their rituals, salute their flags, and worship their false idols, all while big government colludes with Big Tech to strip away the most American thing there is--your freedom of speech."

Saying "the Biden administration seems more interested in woke fantasies than the hard reality Americans face every day," Sanders explained that "most Americans simply want to live their lives in freedom and peace, but we are under attack in a left-wing culture war we didn't start and never wanted to fight."

"That's not normal," Sanders said speaking for Republicans and countless Americans. "It's crazy, and it's wrong."

More at the link, including reactions from conservative leader Mollie Hemingway and Dana Perino, a lame retread from the Muffy, Buffy & Biff wing of the party. They're basically on the same page here.

30 "The Choice Is Between Normal and Crazy."

As has it always been. But who in this case is normal and who is crazy? I personally think the GOP is crazy for trying to win elections while doing nothing about cleaning up the obvious and blatant fraud that will ensure the GOP loses.

32 Part of the problem we have is that the left will propose something literally insane - like tranny surgery for kids.

The GOPe will respond with some pathetic marginal complaint - oh the government shouldn't pay for such things. Unless its really important or something.

And the LIVs hear "this is a nothingburger".

If we had an opposition party they should have spent the last few years arresting tranny surgeons. And Pfizer executives. Yes, Biden stole the federal election. Supposedly there are 26 Republican governors.

44 Sanders is making a strong play over the past month or two. She would be a good VP for Trump over someone like Noem.

What makes Sanders so effective is that because she's not that conventionally attractive, she's not seen as a "threat" to the wine moms and desperate for social media likes middle class stay at home moms. Because let's be real, women still think like this, it's the ONLY reason a tard like Newsom can even entertain possibly running for higher office.

Sanders immediately becomes that nice aunt or midwest working class mom like Roseanne, and her words linger more in people's minds. Equating Biden's speech to her kids lying their asses off is perfect.

We had a company meeting last week and the CEO talked about how awesome the economy is doing. He got questions about the layoffs. At that point he said we had to do it because of the bad economy.

187 That only matters if you believe there is a political solution to the progressive cult.

Here's the thing. The left took about 100 years of slowly persuading people and infiltrating places to get where it is today. They took a very long game and now control the establishment. They got here by convincing people, or at least intimidating people into letting them take control.

If we do not change the culture, NOTHING WE DO WILL MATTER. Let's say we have a violent, bloody revolt and hang everyone who is evil and radically leftist. Then what?

Its still the same America that they were prospering in and controlling. Its still the same Godless, sex-crazed, selfish, hedonistic culture that gave them power. They didn't cheat to win EVERY battle. People actually did vote Biden into the Senate for decades. People actually did elect District Attorneys and school boards.

We have to change the culture, and that's action, too. If that doesn't change, nothing will get better.

Another way to put it: with any of these chatterers, ask yourself "Can I picture this person, at a parade on some future date, pinning medals on the chests of wounded Heroes of the Revolution, while manacled Communists shamble by and people pelt them with rotten fruit?"

If the answer is "not really," then that person is unlikely to make any positive change during your lifetime. That goes for the younger Morons as well.

Without a clearly articulated plan for a people-powered, grassroots street movement as a *starting point,* politics is just going through the motions, at this point. The existing political structure is utterly useless to anyone outside of it, and unchangeable from the inside. Moose out front shoulda told ya.

This language is extremely divisive and sadly typical of this country's radical right-wing. Ms. Sanders and others like her who are terrified and threatened by any progressive idea because they know it will result in the diminution of their own illegitimate and ill-gotten authority. Anything that erodes their supremacist systems of institutional power have to be opposed.

That they do this is understandable, of course. After all, who that is in possession of unjust power will ever support eroding that power? It is *how* they do it that so deeply offensive, corrosive and barbaric. Look at how this woman has framed the problem! It's "normal or crazy." I couldn't write something that offensive if I tried. This kind of framing otherizes opposition to the typical white-wing power structure and seeks to shamem humiliate and degrade the opponent with the cudgel of mental illness. The dominant culture already treats mental illness with inadequate attention and care. This kind of language destroys progress in neurodiversity and mental health!

I believe one reason the Biden Admin didn't act earlier on the Chiner balloon is that powerful "woke" factions at State and in the WH think The Most Important Thing is Climate Change, and therefore we must at all costs (sovereignty, actual national security) keep things "friendly" with China to keep negotiating CO2. A fantasy built on a fallacy; but such is Wokeness.

For all the BS Congressional "investigations" I think they could actually be useful to untangle the money flow into Climate Change and "Green Energy" activism. I'm sure large sums are coming from China. Why wouldn't they?

253 Huh. My homeowner insurance company sent me a letter that, reading between the lines, is an admission that inflation is quite understated.

It says that inflation is a problem and rates are going up and so will coverage in dollar-cost terms, but that despite this it might be that it isn't actually enough money to replace my house in the event that it burns down and I should carefully examine the policy and determine if I need more coverage, or I can go see my agent and have him help.

If coverage and costs are increasing with inflation but what was enough insurance yesterday may not be enough insurance today, then that means the conclusion is "inflation is understated" - even if they don't say so in black and white.

Ceasar courted the lower classes with lavish, epic public celebrations (incurring massive debts in the process), by supporting legislation and legal cases that favored them, and by winning wars in epic fashion.

Napoleon likewise became famous for his military victories during the late Terror years and then slowly rose to Emperor.

There's nothing wrong with saying that these people are dangerous lunatics who must be stopped. That is definitely true.

But, how?

If the answer is "keep voting your hearts out in a system that has no use for popular approval or accountability," then you're up shit creek. That won't change anything, ever.

If the answer is "get to my rally and feel your strength in numbers. Take to the streets. Protest. Go on strike. Boycott everything our enemies control," and so on... then you're talking about getting the ball rolling.

Uh, Caesar at least was one of the biggest boasters and fabulists of all time. It is just that he kind of boasted... and then did what he said he was going to do. Story:

Caesar was captured as a young man by a group of pirates. The pirates themselves remarked that he did not act like they were used to captives acting. He'd eat with them, play games with them. Gamble with them. He demanded they double the ransom they had put on his head, then sent a slave to get the money. But then at dinner he'd casually remark 'When I get free, I'll raise an army, come back here and kill you all.' They laughed because they figured he was boasting. So the ransom was paid. Caesar then raised an army, stormed the pirate base where he had been held and crucified all of them.

389 I like both versions of Genesis, for the most part. Some of their earlier prog rock stuff is difficult to listen to and some of their later pop stuff is not great. Its like Chicago, they had some good stuff with Cetera and some great stuff before, and some crap with both. You take the good and abandon the bad, where its good or bad, not based on some team-loyalty concept.

Cute little Valerie Bertinelli ruined Van Halen, but they still had some good stuff in the Van Hagar era. And some dumb stuff in the David Lee Roth era. Its about the music, not the personalities.

But it won't ultimately matter, like 98% of everything else being done/said about the Ukraine situation. Real life is boring.

===

Chinese Soviet it doesn't matter to the old propagandist as long as it is hard communism. She has been a commie since she went into "news" reading.

I bet that is better than every big democrat run city.

475 ok, I read something from Commentary mag about Hersh and it appears he is a serial fabulist, or at least fudge-ulist. So we'll see what comes out of this all. If anything.

Posted by: Funsize at February 08, 2023 03:49 PM (Jc5GQ)

476 Hersh is a crusty old Communist apparatchik. I won't read his agitprop, because why?

But I do think it stands to reason that we (or our British partners) were behind this in some way. Virtually nobody else would have stood to benefit by it aside from Ukraine, and I doubt they have the capability.

Posted by: Yudhishthira's Dice at February 08, 2023 03:04 PM (oINRc)

We have many, many ways to find out who is behind an operation like that. The spy organs keep telling us that.

But like Epstein, for some reason how this happened and who did it mysteriously doesn't matter. Hell, they aren't even trying hard to frame Putin or anyone.

There really can be only one reason why...its because they know.

That's with today's grade level measurements being used, too.

478 The EU need the German economy to support the Euro
NATO one day destroyed the German Economy.

the EU was basically propped up on 2½ tent poles: Germany, England, and France. England bailed and Germany is staggering. It was always a stupid experiment to begin with but the massive leftist radical injection into their faux government has made things crash faster than most expected.
Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at February 08, 2023 03:17 PM (0hOvj)

Europe has always had leftist, ineffectual governments not very accountable to the people. The obvious improvement is to add a second layer of leftist, ineffectual government on top of that that isn't accountable to anyone.

479 The clergy have been too often AWOL on this. We're relying on politicians of all things to be leading moral lights on issues.

Yes. The church has been so fixated on getting people to come to worship that its forgotten to be salt and light to the world. it does everything possible to blend in with the world.

482 My expectations for her rebuttal were exceeded substantially. That gal was lit. Same is true for McCarthy - so far expectations have been exceeded. He actually seems to be trying.

I've noticed, that has been happening more and more frequently. Not sure what it is, but Republicans are finally fighting back, and not backing up or backing down.

And also, when they show the slightest inclination to actually fight, they often win. De Santis has shied away from nothing, and Florida went from a purple state to deep red seemingly overnight. I think others have taken notice of that - fighting gets results.

More than $15k can be earned online by performing straightforward tasks from home. In the previous month, I got $18376. Even a young child may do this job and make money because it is so simple to complete and has higher pay than typical office occupations. Everyone needs to try this task by using the information on this page. www.Salarybez.com

484 Ace,

How to say this.
Trump intentionally broke through and shattered the political paradigm. (My strong suspicion is that Limbaugh specifically advised him on how to do this.)
Listen carefully to Huckabee and Desantis (individually) and realize their speeches promise absolutely NOTHING in terms of specific governance.

The reason Trump won us over is because he made unmistakable, unambiguous, very specific and EXTREMELY BOLD policy promises.
There's no way I would have _converted_ to supporting Trump otherwise. (I was a tepid, default Ted Cruz voter until what I viewed as an irrelevant rodeo clown - i.e., Donald Trump, intruded upon the scene.)

Huckabee and Desantis provide "decent" and "interesting" conservative rhetoric. But neither tightly tie themselves to strident political positions the way that Trump did. If elected, either of them could easily "moderate" their positions into "commonsense" alternatives.
Fuck. That.
I'm done with that.
If they want a serious shot at my vote: let them unambiguously and STRIDENTLY tie themselves to concrete policy actions on serious issues that I (and the rest of the base) seriously care about.

Otherwise, what the hell is the point?

Posted by: Bach in Black at February 10, 2023 03:56 AM (7ubmG)

486 If we go back to reveling in George W Bush (yes, I was an ardent supporter) platitudes:
We. Are. Seriously. Fucked.

Translation: America. Is. Totally. Fucked.

Takeaway: Neither Huckabee nor Desantis have brought anything NEW to the table.
- Therefore, they are worthless.
