The Morning Report — 2/3/23

redzeppelin.jpg

Good morning kids. Considering we're living in a world where pedophiles in drag are allowed (way too weak a word) to read stories to toddlers and encourage them to "lick us where we pee," and where five black cops beat a black suspect to death in a city with a 60-plus % black populace, a black mayor and black police commissioner is an example of systemic white supremacy, does the fact that a Red Chinese military balloon being parked over Montana and that our military has not Hindenburg'ed the shit out of it, let alone allowed it to come within a thousand miles of our coast in the first place, surprise you? Meh, that's a nothing-burger I guess. But still, what the actual fuck is going on here? Meh, don't answer that.

“The United States government has detected and is tracking a high-altitude surveillance balloon that is over the continental United States right now,” Pentagon spokesperson Brig. Gen. Pat Ryder told NBC News. “We continue to track and monitor it closely.” Officials have confirmed that the balloon belongs to China.

“Once the balloon was detected, the U.S. government acted immediately to protect against the collection of sensitive information,” Ryder said.

“The official said there was a window while the balloon was over Montana Wednesday when they could have taken it down. NORAD sent aircraft — including F-22 Raptors from Nellis Air Force Base and airborne early warning aircraft known as AWACs — but the official would not say whether one of the options was to shoot the balloon out of the sky with a U.S. aircraft,” NBC reported. “The U.S. military flights prompted a ground stop at the airport in Billings, with air traffic controllers citing a ‘special military mission.'”

According to the Montana Free Press, “The Air Force at Malmstrom [Air Force Base] maintains 150 intercontinental ballistic missile silos across its 13,800-square-mile complex in central Montana.”

Biden refused to answer questions shouted at him by reporters Thursday afternoon.

Officials say the balloon flew over the Aleutian Islands and through Canada before settling over the Billings, Mont., area. The balloon is still hovering somewhere over the United States, according to a senior defense official who declined to say where it is now. . .

. . . “Currently we assess that this balloon has limited additive value from an intelligence collection perspective over and above what the PRC can do through other means,” the official said. “Nevertheless we are taking all necessary steps to protect against foreign intelligence collection of sensitive information.”

I can't even. I. CAN'T. EVEN.

But let's put NATO, meaning American, boots on the ground in Ukraine and trigger a nuclear exchange with Putin because we need to make the world safe for democracy and the continued graft of the Bidens, Kerrys, Pelosis, Romneys and the military industrial complex but mostly the continued graft of the Bidens, Kerrys, Pelosis, Romneys and the military industrial complex. And this time, a few thousand GIs coming home in a box over the course of years will be avoided. Mostly because they'll be vaporized by a battlefield nuke somewhere on the outskirts of Kiev. If we're lucky that's the extent and not an MRBM or ICBM. Ironically enough, Babi Yar is on the outskirts of Kiev. But I digress.

Again, how in a sane world is this allowed to happen? Meh, I think I just answered my own question, so I'll set my electric oven to broil and stick my head in it.

If I were a betting man, I'd say the answer is somewhere in a garage in Delaware in a box next to a vintage Corvette. Or on a laptop once owned by a renowned artist (of the bullshit variety), or in a dusty drawer at a University of Pennsylvania "think tank" that just happens to be funded by a gaggle (pronounced "gaggre" in Cantonese) of respectable Chinese businessmen to the tune of millions.

But that's crazy talk, right? If you want to know how a Red Chinese spy balloon gets to float totally unmolested over a SAC missile silo in Montana, then what Hakeem-puck Jeffries, the heir apparent to the Pelosi giant clown gavel – Nancy's, not Paul's – had to say might give you a clue:

Cuban-American Rep. Maria Elvira Salazar (R-FL) introduced the anti-Socialism resolution, a symbolic move that declares the country “founded on the belief in the sanctity of the individual, to which the collectivistic system of socialism in all of its forms is fundamentally and necessarily opposed.”

“Whereas socialist ideology necessitates a concentration of power that has time and time again collapsed into Communist regimes, totalitarian rule, and brutal dictatorships,” the resolution states.

However, Jeffries argued the anti-socialism resolution would “undermine” House Democrats’ agenda. Jeffries said:

They’re bringing to the floor of the House of Representatives today a resolution on socialism, to condemn some dictators that we all condemn. But understand the goal of this phony, fake, and fraudulent resolution is just to somehow provide cover for extreme MAGA Republicans to try to undermine an agenda that is designed to lift up the health, safety, and well-being of the American people. . .

. . . The resolution ultimately passed in a bipartisan fashion, with 328 voting in favor and 86 voting against it. House Republicans unanimously supported the bill, along with 126 House Democrats.

Interestingly, Jeffries and former Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) voted in favor of the resolution.

I guess I should say thank you to Rep. Salazar for the resolution, but what does it really mean? The cancer of socialism has, as Lincoln warned us as far back as 1838 all but eaten us to the bone. The very tyranny she, Salazar, warns us against, which this doppelgänger for Cory Booker's undescended testicle in ham-fisted fashion tried to defend while at the same time projecting its evils on its victims – that being us – is right here. Look at Jeffries.

Look at the antics of Titty-Caca AOC, Bro-Fo Omar. Hell, Bernie Sanders a bust-out open Communist who Vermont elected Senator multiple times already. Or maybe worse, someone like John Brennan, who somehow not only was allowed to join the CIA but rose steadily to gain the top slot in the corporation. Worst of all, are the feckless, useless and perhaps conspiratorial members of Salazar's own party who have taken a decades-long dive and a payoff from these traitors-cum-Democrats as they've overthrown the nation.

Not good, my friends. Not good at all.

America may soon face one of two kinds of left-wing authoritarianism. One is the soft despotism of liberal technocracy. This authoritarianism wouldn’t overthrow the present structures of our society or upend the economy. In fact, it would have the support of the regime’s major institutions. It would seriously curb civil liberties, such as free speech and gun rights, and feel much less democratic. More people would be arrested over memes, but much would remain the same. Political life in America would look more like contemporary Western Europe.

The other is a radical populism in the mold of Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan socialist who turned his resource-rich South American nation into a hellhole. This authoritarianism would threaten America’s institutions and overthrow the economic order. It would not be supported by the powers that be and would crush civil liberties to enact massive wealth redistribution programs.

Unlike liberal technocracy, where the guiding principle is that “experts” should be in charge, this radical populism would be motivated largely by race resentment. The desire for revenge against “white supremacy” would inspire a movement to destroy the old America. . .

. . . Venezuelan Chavism was originally anti-white. Chavez vowed to end the dominance of Venezuela’s white castizo elite and distributed their wealth to the nation’s indios, blacks, and mestizos. Chavez and his successor Nicolas Maduro made good on that promise, turning Venezuela into a tyrannical dump. Former Bolivian President Evo Morales followed this example, promising to empower the nation’s downtrodden indios at white expense. Moderate forms of this racial socialism can also be found in Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Argentina, and Peru. Left-wing populists throughout Latin America know that racial resentment is a potent political weapon.

An American version of this movement won’t be exclusively nonwhite. It will have plenty of white “allies.” Some will join due to their own nihilistic hatred for whites, parents, or surroundings. Others will join for the promises of more welfare and entitlements. Left-wing whites are not scared off by anti-white hatred; they often agree with it and amplify it.

We already saw this “mutliracial” anti-whiteness during the riots of 2020. Many whites joined in the destruction. In some places, like Portland, whites were the majority of rioters, even though the cause was a revolt against “white supremacy” on behalf of black lives. There are enough white Americans stupid enough to back Chavism here. . .

. . . The only possible upside is that American Chavism would make the middle class more receptive to the real Right. When threatened by a radical Left that’s openly anti-white, the white middle class will realize that multicultural America is not a utopia. Threats to livelihood are more powerful than any other form of political persuasion. Americans accept the excesses of wokeness because it doesn’t threaten their livelihoods. Transgender ads and a new Wakanda movie do not threaten someone’s house or job. Chavism would.

Chavism promises the realization of multicultural America. It would reject everything great about the old America and turn our nation into a giant favela. Mass immigration and the popularization of anti-whiteness make that future more likely. We can only reject it by restricting immigration and ending anti-white racism for good.

Despite his star supposedly being on the rise, Hakeem Jeffries is too stupid, I think, to fit the bill. What the Left needs is another Obama. And I don't mean the Wookie, either. It might be Maryland governor Wes Moore, who as Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants might describe him as "clean, articulate and can speak jive when he wants to."

Don't let his service as a captain in the paratroops fool you. George McGovern flew 35 missions over Italy in the pilot's seat of a B-24, yet politically he was red, white and blue – minus the white and blue.

Of course, Wes Moore too would be just a figurehead. I think it's obvious that whoever is the standard-bearer for the Dems in '24 is going to be hand-picked by a committee from Langley and the Hoover Building. They run this show. How else is a Chi-Com balloon allowed to drift over he skies of Montana unmolested?

Psaki-psircling back to Lincoln, I will leave you with this excerpt from his 1838 Speech to the Young Men's Lyceum of Springfield, Illinois:

I know the American People are much attached to their Government;--I know they would suffer much for its sake;--I know they would endure evils long and patiently, before they would ever think of exchanging it for another. Yet, notwithstanding all this, if the laws be continually despised and disregarded, if their rights to be secure in their persons and property, are held by no better tenure than the caprice of a mob, the alienation of their affections from the Government is the natural consequence; and to that, sooner or later, it must come.

Here then, is one point at which danger may be expected.

The question recurs, "how shall we fortify against it?" The answer is simple. Let every American, every lover of liberty, every well wisher to his posterity, swear by the blood of the Revolution, never to violate in the least particular, the laws of the country; and never to tolerate their violation by others. As the patriots of seventy-six did to the support of the Declaration of Independence, so to the support of the Constitution and Laws, let every American pledge his life, his property, and his sacred honor;--let every man remember that to violate the law, is to trample on the blood of his father, and to tear the character of his own, and his children's liberty. Let reverence for the laws, be breathed by every American mother, to the lisping babe, that prattles on her lap--let it be taught in schools, in seminaries, and in colleges; let it be written in Primers, spelling books, and in Almanacs;--let it be preached from the pulpit, proclaimed in legislative halls, and enforced in courts of justice. And, in short, let it become the political religion of the nation; and let the old and the young, the rich and the poor, the grave and the gay, of all sexes and tongues, and colors and conditions, sacrifice unceasingly upon its altars.

While ever a state of feeling, such as this, shall universally, or even, very generally prevail throughout the nation, vain will be every effort, and fruitless every attempt, to subvert our national freedom.

We have not fortified against it, as everything we have seen these past years and even decades can attest to. Just the opposite of what Lincoln implored us has in fact occurred, and the obvious result is the subversion of our freedom. Hence, my emphasis of that first paragraph.

The fact that there's a Communist moon over Montana is because there are Communist loons controlling our government and society.

New podcast coming later today. Be there, aloha. Have a good weekend.

Anyway, it amazes me that in Montana, the land of lots of land and few people, we can't figure out how to take down the balloon without hurting someone. So, that's obviously horsesh&t. The thing that shocks me is we have no idea if this balloon is retrofitted with any other capability (ala back in the late 90s when our Predator drones got missles), so we can't even say it's not a danger. We need to bring it down now and disappear it...or study it...

Probably true. Red China has decent space-based surveillance and many means of signals intelligence. That's not really my problem with it.

59 Trump’s Line of Attack on DeSantis Could Backfire in a Major Way

--

Trump is making a colossal mistake right now attacking DeSantis. What the dummy should be doing is going full metal jacket on the Democrat Communists (which is the entire f'n party now) and how they're destroying, literally destroying, America. This DeSantis attacking is a stupid circus that doesn't address how far down the rabbit hole these foul leftists have taken this country.

Not that presidential elections matter anymore (and as of now, they don't), but Trump needs to focus on what's really of dire importance right now. And that's the Democrat Left and their utter destruction of the USA.

60 America may soon face one of two kinds of left-wing authoritarianism.
++++
Why is this being framed as some future development? This is the way of life in this country *now.* I know a lot of people are discomfited declaring the United States to be a technocratic tyranny that is well beyond the knee of the curve on totalitarianism, but it is what it is.

65 The other is a radical populism in the mold of Hugo Chavez, the Venezuelan socialist who turned his resource-rich South American nation into a hellhole. This authoritarianism would threaten America’s institutions and overthrow the economic order. It would not be supported by the powers that be and would crush civil liberties to enact massive wealth redistribution programs.
++++
Entirely possible. Whether it goes in the communist direction of Venezuela or some other type of dictatorship remains to be seen, but something like this is a very likely outcome. The root causes are also similar.

One of the things that delivered Venezuela into Chavez's clutches was the open, naked corruption of its government and ruling class and the unification of that country's political parties. They had a capricious and thieving government, a uniparty complex, arbitrary enforcement of rules against the people while everyone in The Club was above the law.

Sound familiar? This is why what's happening is so dangerous. A lot of people will throw their support behind someone who promises to fix it by any means necessary. That person could well be a Chavez.

66 How else is a Chi-Com balloon allowed to drift over he skies of Montana unmolested?

I still want to know what sort of witchcraft the ChiComs are using where they can pilot a balloon (not aerostat) along the jet stream, and then perfectly maneuver itself over a spot in Montana and then fight off the upper air level currents and jets streams and loiter over a specific space totally unmolested and undetected by a nationwide network of RADAR.

If China Cracked U.S. Encryption, Why Would It Tell Us?
When Alan Turing cracked the Enigma code during the Second World War, neither the United Kingdom nor the United States immediately published a paper announcing the achievement. Instead, they kept it to themselves so they could keep reading Nazi messages encrypted using Enigma machines. Last month, in contrast, Chinese academics from government-run laboratories and research organizations published a paper claiming to have developed a new mathematical strategy to break RSA encryption, today’s standard.

If the Chinese government can crack RSA encryption, then they can break into every U.S. government and private sector system, seeing and exfiltrating anything and everything, achieving true information dominance over Washington and its allies and partners.

It'll be known sooner than then, but it will be a disaster if it's true. A true disaster, a catastrophe. One large enough to threaten the entire civilization if the outcome is common enough. If something like, say, a quarter of girls born to vaccinated mothers are infertile, that more or less guarantees a demographic collapse during the generation after next. We have no way to quantify that, though. We don't know if the problem happens at all. If it does, we don't know how pervasively or the time considerations. Is it any vaccinated mother? Is it any mother vaccinated while pregnant? Is it only within about six months of vaccination?

All unknowns. But it will not take 20 years to find out. It will take more like 12-13. If there are lots of weird patterns in menarche, that will be a big indicator.

A problem here is that it is hard to know why, at least this early. There are a tremendous number of factors, some of which might be survivable. Aside from the birth rate, a more important factor might be the miscarriage rate. A falling birth rate could just mean less reproduction, which is very possible sans vaccine. A rising miscarriage rate is more troubling.

One of the ancillary things that worries me greatly is the consequences on reproduction, though not for chemistry reasons. They fucked things up for 2-3 years in a very significant way. Dating collapsed. If people don't date, they don't screw. If they don't screw, they don't make babies. They also, of course, don't marry.

The decline in dating and mating alone is probably good for a significant - albeit hopefully temporary - decline in the birth rate.

In two years of unrestricted covid spending we blew through more than double the money we spent to win WWII and we have absolutely nothing to show for it except a vaccine that doesn't work and kills people.

In the year 2002 some corona type disease went around the world but quickly died out. Since then vaccines were experimented with against that version. Every study (on animals) for almost two decades had to be halted because of VAED - vaccine associated enhanced disease.

These bastids knew that another animal study would almost undoubtedly have the same result. They needed the cover of 'Operation Warp Speed' to skip the animal study. The animal study is now on humans and enhanced disease and sudden death seem to be the outcome. Trump needs to sit down and shut up about his role in this debacle.

This is a disingenuous argument. The profligacy of the COVID response was appalling and unjustifiable, but it wasn't as big as the War. Inflation is a poor way to adjust spending at that scale and over that period of time. Inflation is useful for more recent comparisons, but over that time scale the fact that inflation doesn't account for economic growth is a serious problem.

WWII cost around $350 billion in 1940 dollars. The combined GDP of the war years of 1941-1945 was $950 billion. WWII cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 30%-35% of GDP.

We've spent something like $5 trillion on the COVID response. The final cost will probably be closer to $10 trillion. The combined GDP of 2020-2022 is probably around $67 trillion or $68 trillion. The COVID response will have cost us around 15% of GDP. It isn't comparable.

When he was approached by a protection officer, Mr Chail said: "I am here to kill the queen."

He appeared at Friday's hearing at London's Old Bailey court via video link wearing a black jacket and spoke only to confirm his name and enter guilty pleas to the three charges of making threats to kill, possession of an offensive weapon, and an offence under the 1842 Treason Act.

Judge Jeremy Baker said he would sentence Mr Chail on March 31, and the court ordered medical reports be prepared.

In 1981, Marcus Sarjeant was sentenced to five years' imprisonment under the Treason Act after he pleaded guilty to firing blank shots at the Queen during the annual "Trooping the Colour" parade in central London.

Agents for the FBI and DOJ have discovered that the Chinese gov't has brought across the southern US border and planted in 15 major American cities -

at least 20 hydrogen bombs.

The FBI and DOJ are keeping a close watch on the bombs in case they try to do anything dangerous.

The bombs will remain in place as their removal and transport would violate current US environmental law.

220 . . . The only possible upside is that American Chavism would make the middle class more receptive to the real Right. When threatened by a radical Left that’s openly anti-white, the white middle class will realize that multicultural America is not a utopia.

This is why it is extremely important for the "real Right" to stick to values and principles, no matter how unpopular they may be in the moment. Because when people start waking up to the Left's destruction (if they ever do), they will want to turn to someone, something, some movement in which to put their trust to turn things around. If the Right is simply a light version of the Left or is a weak movement which does not really believe in the principles to which it claims, people will not take it seriously.

Reagan's conservatism was not popular right away. But when people experienced the failure of Jimmy Carter, they turned to Reagan's conservatism. Reagan never stopped preaching his principles for years before he eventually rose to prominence and eventually Governor and President.

I worry that, as has been exposed in places like NRO, that many people on the Right are frauds and in it for the grift.

276 168 I'm not a big fan of professional tennis, so I don't know why Novak Djokovic didn't get much love from tennis fans (not as warm and cuddly as McEnroe?). But I'm a huge fan for the way he resisted the demands that he get vaccinated. He was unfairly treated by Australia last year (he invited by and followed all the rules to get into the state, but the feds kicked him out anyway because he was a symbol of vax resistance which would undermine the country's vax compliance efforts). He won the Australian Open. But he still can't come to the US Open because of Biden's rules on unvaxxed foreigners coming into the US legally (illegals are exempt).

278 A surface to air missile battery (Patriot) would need to be almost directly under the balloon and shoot straight up, and even then, if the balloon is over 60,000 ft, it is out of range.

An air to air missile shot from a fighter at 40,000ft might still be a challenge if the balloon is up at 100,000. The missile would have to be able to lock on first, and I am not sure there is enough air for it to maneuver up that high.

And the GOP has just gotten progressively worse over the last 17 years. You don't have to be a LIV to notice there is no difference between the parties.

I think that is why Donald Trump was such a popular candidate and the re-elected with the most votes in American history. People were desperate for someone who would actually do what they said, who was not some despicable lying grifting politician. When none of the GOP candidates in 2016 took up any of the popular conservative policies on which he campaigned, that was the evidence that the entire GOP was full of frauds. And when President Trump governed as he campaigned, it led to the largest political base in history.

Considering every government institution and corporation in the USA is infiltrated and corrupted by China already, it's not logical to think there is anyone in the US government which is against China at this point. Depends on where it is. The Chicoms weren't looking at the elk population. They were spying on military sites. It's not as easy a choice as some are making it. But I would partially agree they may not want to shoot it down only because of the intel value. They need to do a capability and intel assessment. That's kinda hard when the thing is in a million pieces scattered across rural Montana. The Pentagon geniuses who allowed this intrusion are probably trying to figure out how to capture it intact. My issue is more this is an act of war and the response has been flaccid ass covering. The obvious question is how did this happen with billions being spent on defense on whose ass should we nail to the door.

351 The geometric shapes in this composition are uniquely used to create an appearance of infinite shapes that continue pattern deeper and deeper into themselves. This exquisite painting is a testament to the raw yet disciplined talent of the artist. Black and Violet is an example of the profound depth and powerful strength of the artist's devotion to inner beauty.

358 Good morning, all, and thank you, JJ.

Yes, local news (Philly) reporting the balloon is a civilian airship, doing research, that was blown off course.

It must be true.

FJB and the hyena are coming to Philly today to (publicly) collect $ towards 2024 run for their "compromise v. confrontation" (my name for it) campaign. Seems like that's a teeny rebranding of their former Decency Campaign but if it worked before on more than one occasion, why not?

Seems FJB has nothing to campaign on other than proposed "efforts to replace lead pipes in places like Philly, thanks to the bipartison infrastructure law signed last year," according to the WH. But if memory serves, they've been singing that same song since the Flint water crises (USA reported 40+ cities had serious lead pipe issues at that time) & the shovel ready infrastructure projects that weren't shovel ready at all. Humm; wasn't FJB the official tracker of the TARP $ (and the runaway ombud federal agency funding) under O & his administrations? Again, I believe he was. And like O & his first administration, no federal budget has been submitted.

Our leader, pitbull & copy cat.

361 306 When you expend ordnance from an aircraft, it comes down, unpredictably. You need a pretty good zone to ensure people on the ground don't get hurt. Even with guns, it would most likely be a GAU 22/A in 25mm. That leaves the barrel at over 3,500 FPS with a range over 3,600 meters and at altitude that range would be increased. It fires over 4,000 rounds per minute.
Posted by: Marcus T at February 03, 2023 09:18 AM (wgAtL)

25mm HEI-T has a self destruct range. Fuze fires based on spin decay. From a ground platform, that's around 3000m. It would be more from an aircraft in flight, but shoot with a nose-up attitude and you won't get much ammo debris hitting the ground. Highest danger would be the spent cartridge cases, not high velocity projectiles or explosions on the ground.

364 Low Earth orbit is perfect altitude to launch an EMP attack.

If I'm the Chinese, I'm going to start sending these "surveillance" balloons over North America a lot more often. It's obvious that we don't see them as a threat. Then one day, when I'm ready to make my military moves in the South China Sea, I'll swap out the usual gear for a disguised EMP weapon, float it over the USA, and activate it.

Cold-cocking us that way would leave half or more of the US with no electricity in an instant. We'd be too busy trying to avoid losing millions of people to starvation right here at home to worry about Taiwan.

If I'm the Chinese, that's what I'm thinking.

365 Our government thinks that we are stupid. Comment 1, why would the Chinese care about the high-altitude weather over central Montana? Comment 2, central Montana is lightly populated. DOD could destroy that balloon with a nuclear weapon and, most likely, no one on the ground would be hurt. It would require exquisite planning in order for it to fall on something valuable. Comment 3, so then it would be just fine for us to fly airplanes all over China "just to check their weather". Comment 4, situational and historical awareness are a survival skills. Why and how exactly did we saddle ourselves with such ignorant people?

370 Autumn Scardina fella is a vexatious litigant and should be marked as such in every court in Colorado. It has sworn to continue to sue Jack Phillips over and over until it wins, which makes this nothing but harassment. To Colo tribunal that upholds these Constitutional abhorrent provisions should be taken out, beaten to an inch of their lives, tarred, feathered, and set out in the middle of a forest. In Germany, unemployed women can be forced to become prostitutes by their own government or lose unemployment, regardless of their moral views; we are headed in that direction and worse.

371 You know, I was taught at an early age that often times the best way to deal with a bully isn't to overreact to what they do, respond in kind, etc. The point is specifically to provoke a reaction.

Sometimes, the best thing to do with a bully is just ignore them.

Consider this: China has spy satellites that can see everything that this balloon could feasibly see, and the satellites can be directed, etc.

So why the balloon?

Perhaps to provoke a response? Perhaps, even, to measure the quality, quantity, and speed of the response?

Maybe responding to this balloon by shooting it down is exactly what China wanted, and by essentially ignoring it and acting like it's NBD, we're winning?

Just saying...

372 Could Jack Phillips be made to make a simple cake consisting of single colors for a man who said he wanted this cake to celebrate p3dophilia? Would the Colo Tribunal uphold the P3do's "right" to have that cake made? What about making a black baker make a cake celebrating cross-burnings and lynchings of blacks? Forcing a devout Muslim or Jew to make a cake celebrating the joys of eating bacon in simple colors?
Either we have freedom or we don't. Colorado Gov't seems to believe we don't.

373 Trump was wrong about COVID and the response to it. It wasn't his fault as he trusted those in positions of power that said it was "science". Nevertheless, Trump is the kind of person who refuses to apologize for being wrong because it is seen as weakness, therefore he will continue to say it was the right thing to do.
