ABC 7 News:According to a press release by the Sonoma County District Attorney, two to three hundred protesters were bused to the [California] farm that morning and illegally entered the farm grounds. A smaller group headed for the processing line where they stopped a conveyor belt, removed the ducks and used bike locks to attach themselves to the conveyer belt. Unfortunately, the belt was switched back on by someone and it moved as protesters were still attached. In the handout video provided by animal rights group Condition One, protesters scream for the belt to be stopped. One man can be seen, his face turning red seemingly struggling to breathe, in distress.LOL. It's like a feel-good reboot of Saw.

They WILL suggest that people stop eating meat and eat vegan. They should examine the purchasing choices of the poor. An, they'll say, that's because they're poorly educated and live in a food dessert. Fine, you tell them they're stupid and they can't have the foods they want. I'll even go along with them. There's a reason all sorts of industrial equipment has lockout procedures. Even when people are being fairly careful, accidents happen. When you start using equipment in ways not intended, bad things happen quickly. They're lucky this wasn't a multi casualty event.
The "activists" probably got rid of the keys so they couldn't be easily removed. Well, that's a double edged sword. You're not easy to get rid of, but you're also not easy to rescue.

I am a bit more ambivalent about that--forgiveness occurs in private and require penitence and admittance of wrongdoing by the perpetrator. It is more for the soul of the person granting it than the receiver of it but forgiving someone unrepentant and denying what they obviously did is morally dubious. Someone that wants to do that can do it in private, not public.

To be fair, we have a tendency to rub some people the wrong way. Look at Fen or SMH saying our obsession with boobs has driven away friends of theirs who have tried out the blog. At a time in my life when I was really struggling (early 30s; lot of anxiety, depression, and anger) -- a friend gave me a book to read called The Way of the Peaceful Warrior.
It helped me get into meditation -- which itself was most helpful -- and inspired me to become a vegetarian. The irony? I hate and never eat vegetables (I joke that my taste buds are like the rest of me: immature).
So for three years it was a steady diet of grains and legumes and dairy and fruit. A couple things I noticed: the minor acne I still had on my face immediately cleared up (likely from some detox); and I seemed to require less food.

Dying for Him, I can't imagine such an honor, yet our fellow brothers and sisters in Christ do so every day around the world.

Same, ex Catholic who has family who are still. I worship Jesus and they are cool with it. My dad is old school but doesn't look down at me nor myself with him. If someone wants to tell me I am going to hell for not being Catholic I'll just say good day.

IIRC, can't a priest who converts from another sect still be called 'priest'? Or will he be at a lower rank like a deacon?

Don't need to be widowed. Do need to be celibate iirc.
Whether they need to be re-ordained depends on the sect and whether they've kept the transmission of grace.

Their bishops however are largely celibate. And priests cannot married after taking the priesthood.
The original ancient tradition was that after marriage they would be celibate.
Catholics moved to a more cut and dry system largely (though there are still married Catholic priests here and there).

I imagine because it rhymes with Pagan the way they pronounce it. The way they carry on its 95 percent religion and 5 percent dietary.
I've known quite a few vegetarians that eat what they eat and don't make a case out of it. Vegans seem to be all militant.

A lot of people cannot handle disagreement without it becoming disagreeable to them. Thus, you have all sorts of comment rules making people play nice because some people also treat commentary as their personal trolling, grooming, or as an outlet for their mental illness.
I used the internet in Usenet days and the flame wars there were far more erudite and witty (along with the meltdowns) than generally seen in these more civilized internet days. Nowadays, it seems to be more and more tribal in nature and people take umbrage at any hit on their group identity such as it is. The classic take is I am not like that, my peeps are not like that, so the group as a whole cannot do what you are describing.
You want affirmation--get a dog.

Was doing a project once upon a day and we had to delineate differences in religious dogma between congregations of all different faiths.
Nice introduction to comparative religions and often the smallest differences in interpretation were magnified into dogma that ate the scriptural meaning. I especially enjoy reading the dogma of congregations that have some sort of 'elect' hierarchy and how that can be determined before death. Then again, justifications for hierarchies always amuse me in their infinite variations.
