The Morning Report — 1/20/23

etkerrypull.jpg

Good morning kids. As Gracie Slick once sang, "When the truth is found to be lies." The question though is differentiating between the two, and the ensuing consequences once one or the other is established.

The Soviet Union created a false narrative about the October Revolution of 1917 and the occupation of Czar Nicholas’ Winter Palace. Although the Bolsheviks took advantage of a power vacuum in then-Petrograd and virtually walked into the palace unopposed, Bolshevik leader Vladmir Lenin enshrined the moment in a completely fictitious filmed reenactment from 1920 that claimed hundreds of communists were killed taking the Russian summer capitol. That lie became an integral part of Soviet history and the communist mythology that surrounded it. The Soviets repeated the lie so often that it eventually became part of the official record and few people in the West refuted the story.

The Nazis had their Beer Hall Putsch, a failed coup d'état by Adolf Hitler against the Bavarian government that was supposed to expand to a march on Berlin and the assumption of power. Nothing worked out for the Nazis that night, that didn’t stop the Nazis from using this comedy of errors as a source of propaganda, and another Big Lie.

There is a similar kind of misleading going on with the Democrat version of Jan. 6. Are they not promulgating fabled heroes and villains? They ran a series of ridiculous committee meetings around the riot. These hearings were more than vaguely reminiscent of the Stalinist show trials of the 1930s where enemies of the state were paraded in front of the cameras and forced to confess to outrageous charges of treason and sabotage.

America’s once-vaunted national police force and the Department of Justice have become dangerously politicized institutions that seek out, harass and prosecute opponents of the Biden regime.

Recall that a bit over six months prior to that, a hapless career criminal and life-loser named George Floyd was turned into a combination Joe Hill/Horst Wessel and achieved immortality by either dying as a result of ingesting his stash of crystal meth (on top of having a bad heart) after passing a queer Jackson at a convenience store while resisting arrest, or was assassinated in cold blood by a racist cop for no other reason than he was black.

And then, depending how you see it, scores of cities went up in flames and were either willfully destroyed or a justifiably angered mass of oppressed people reacted in "mostly peaceful protests." For sure, too many low-IQ amoral animals, the product of nearly 60 years of Democrat "compassion" that ground their lives and souls into dust, saw that as the green light to go wild. But the matches were lit and the first pre-positioned bricks were hurled by instigators of the professional urban terrorist variety from the ranks of BLM and of course, the progeny of Ernst Roehm, AKA Antifa.

And today, Antifa is at it again, somewhere on the outskirts of Atlanta:

The City of Atlanta has been preparing to tear down a forested area in DeKalb County, Ga., to build a new public safety training center. However, an Antifa group has camped out in the wooded area, making it difficult for the city to clear the land and make progress on the facility.

The left has dubbed the project “Cop City” (akin to calling Florida’s Parental Rights in Education bill “Don’t Say Gay"), and earlier this month a judge denied an injunction by protesters using environmental issues as a pretext to stop construction of the facility. Members of the group even refer to themselves as “Forest Creatures” and identify themselves as different animals.

It was a matter of time before the Antifa action would erupt in violence. On Wednesday morning, law enforcement was conducting a “clearing operation” when a state trooper got involved in a shooting match with protesters. The trooper was wounded, but one Antifa member was killed.

Now the group is calling for a “Night of Rage” to reciprocate for the death of the Antifa protester. A Twitter account called “Scenes From the Atlanta Forest” called for vengeful violence.

“Consider this a call for reciprocal violence to be done to the police and their allies. On Friday, January 20th, wherever you are, you are invited to participate in a night of rage in order to honor the memory of our fallen comrade,” read the tweet. . .

. . . The group has also descended on the offices of the contractors in charge of the project and members have reportedly invaded church services where contract employees were worshiping. On his radio show on Thursday, Erick Erickson spoke with a caller who claimed that the group was digging pits in the woods and lighting brush fires in the hopes that firefighters would fall into the pits.

Naturally, this isn’t getting much attention in the national press. You and I both know that if a right-leaning group had threatened violence like this, we would never hear the end of it.

But there’s an interesting wrinkle to this whole story that ties the “Cop City” protesters to two-time Georgia governor loser Stacey Abrams. As PJ Media reported last summer, Abrams serves on the board of the Marguerite Casey Foundation, which gives grants to far-left causes and has called for both defunding and abolishing the police. . .

. . . Now, it’s true that we can’t tie Abrams directly to the protesters who shot a state trooper and are now calling for violence against law enforcement in Atlanta (and other parts of the country), but there’s no denying that her board work with the Marguerite Casey Foundation has laid part of the foundation for what could happen on Friday night.

These people don’t just need to be arrested. Someone needs to lock them up in Gitmo!

Locked up in Gitmo? They should be rounded up, and summarily executed. Mostly peacefully. And as time goes on and the depredations of our alleged law enforcement agencies prove them to be akin to our version of the Gestapo, I'm not going to get all hot and bothered about Miranda rights and due process. Alas, it's not to be. Absolute radio silence from the SPLC, ACLU and of course the DOJ/FBI which have identified the greatest threat to domestic tranquility as white supremacists inspired and/or led by Donald Trump among others.

It still seems like a miracle that Kyle Rittenhouse was acquitted in a kangaroo court that could have easily railroaded him into prison for killing one of these Democrat approved or bought-and-paid for street thugs. You better believe your tax dollars among millions from suckers and dupes are finding their way to what can only be described as a terrorist army that, for the time being, is aligned with the short-term political aims of the Democrat Party. Multi-thousand-page Continuing Resolutions, Stimuli, Inflation Reduction Acts, Patient Protection Acts and on and on and on can disguise a hell of a lot of things that come back in the form of hate-shakes to the face, torched pregnancy centers and, of course, "fortified" elections.

But of course Joey Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants declared that Antifa is "just an idea."

Now we have a man in Houston whom the goons want to lynch for the crime against humanity of shooting an armed and dangerous robber at a taqueria.

Funny though how some "ideas" are more equal than others. Some ideas must not be allowed into the discourse because they're "disinformation," such as the truth about the origins of the General Tso's Sickness, the disaster of the lockdowns and face-masks, the near uselessness and even dangers of the vaccines and how common sense and tried-and-tested best practices to mitigate potential pandemics and viral outbreaks were demonized and now, in California, criminalized. And that's just one issue among everything that is driving us towards an abyss to horrid to contemplate, yet clearly in front of us. If we're not in it already.

One overriding principle of the new Democratic Party is asymmetry—or the notion that the Left’s moral superiority earns absolute exemption from the very methods they employ against their opponents.

Disproportionality explains why the historic Mar-a-Lago raid was constructed in bogus fashion as a legitimate search for “nuclear codes.” Yet it would have sparked outrage had the FBI, on rumors of Biden sloppiness, sent armed agents into Jill Biden’s underwear drawers looking for classified papers concerning Ukraine and Iran, or towed away Joe Biden’s Corvette to get access to a garage full of unlawfully stored classified papers, or strewn Biden’s papers across the floor for an FBI concocted photo-op.

The buffoonish protestors and rioters of January 6 were to be jailed for months without formal charges, put in solitary confinement, and often sentenced to the maximum punishment possible. But the rioters, shooters, and killers of 120 days of mayhem and violence during summer 2020 were calibrated as “summer of love” rowdies. Antifa and Black Lives Matter sort of, kind of got a little bit out of hand in torching a police precinct, a federal courthouse, and an iconic Washington, D.C. church, as well as trying to storm the White House grounds, sending the president into an underground bunker.

That Antifa and BLM plotted much of their anarchy and violence on social media unimpeded was unremarked upon. That fact mattered not at all in comparison to the illegal paraders and rioters of January 6. Police who shoot unarmed protestors usually have their identities immediately revealed; yet when they lethally shoot the likes of an Ashli Babbitt, their identities are suppressed, and their questionable conduct lauded. . .

. . . Conservatives should be aware that they are not dealing with the party of JFK and LBJ. The Democratic Party has nothing in common with the agendas of a slick Bill Clinton and is well beyond the “fundamental transformations” of arch-narcissist Barack Obama.

We are faced with a strictly disciplined, no-nonsense revolutionary party, well known from history that aims to change the nation into something unrecognizable by most Americans. And it feels that it has now created the means to do it.

Over time, as is evidenced by the last two paragraphs, the usually even-keeled Victor Davis Hanson is sounding more and more alarmed with each passing essay. And he is dead right about what we're facing.

Have a good weekend.

Also, after careful consideration, I'm throwing down my marker for the 2024 election.

1.A Biden is removed/steps down during this term due to investigative findings.

1.B Biden finishes term, but due to investigative findings announces he will not seek re-election.

2.A Harris finishes out Bidens term and announces her run for the Presidency in 2024

2.B Harris finishes this term as Vice-President, and announces her candidacy for 2024.

3. Wes Moore, newly elected Maryland Governor and Democratic rising superstar at the completion of only two years as Governor announces his candidacy for President for the 2024 election.

Biden is wounded, Harris is hated, and the invisible powers to be are moving heaven and earth for Moore's career.

63 entitled “Protections for
Educators of Color”—in which MPS, admitting to past “systemic racism,” contractually bound itself
to hire and fire based on the race of the teachers at issue. Specifically, when MPS performs layoffs,
it must pass over “a teacher who is a member of a population underrepresented among licensed
teachers” at the school and instead lay off “the next least senior teacher.”2
Conversely, when reinstating teachers after layoffs, MPS is now contractually required to bring back “member of a
population underrepresented among licensed teachers in the District” and “deprioritize” those
who are not of the race preferred by MFT and MPS.

64 Poll: Donald Trump’s Net Favorability Rating Surged 15 Points Since Early December

If this is really a true reflection of voter sentiment, I find it quite interesting. It would definitely show that Trump is not losing steam, is not a has-been as TPTB are trying so hard to insinuate, is not out of sight, out of mind in the eyes of the voters (at least those inclined to vote for him).

The "it's time to move on" crowd must be dismayed.

83 I don't like the thin blue line version of the American flag either.

Like everything else, its meant to be propaganda - you are supposed to consider ALL law enforcement to be pro-America patriotic.

First off, the only legitimate "law enforcement" would be the elected sheriff department. Municipal "law enforcement" are goons who exist merely to be the muscle behind city council agenda and policies. In many cases, just ad hoc tax collectors.

Federal "law enforcement" is an abomination in the eyes of the LORD. I am of the opinion that if Joe wanted to "defund the police" and "disarm the police" he would EO the federal agencies into disarming and retiring their SWAT and enforcement teams, but since all he has done is expand them by at least 87k, its obvious that they don't believe in that movement at all.

Feds, like city cops should only have as much authority as a regular citizen. You need to execute a warrant or need to show an armed presence? Get your local sheriff on board and have deputies bring the muscle.

104 This kerfuffle with Antifa in Atlanta will go one of two ways:
1. It will be suppressed, likely brutally
2. The government will cut a deal and Antifa will leave them alone

Antifa is not new in the American experience. They are the replacement for a very similar group that used to exist. The parallels are striking, and nobody is allowed to talk about it. Antifa:
1. Is strongly Democrat affiliated, to the point of being a wing of the Party
2. A group of activists pushing a hard-line, no-compromise ideology
3. Supported by the Party and a large number of notable movers and shakers
4. Engages in aggressive general street warfare to promote its agenda
5. Engages in targeted individual violence against important opponents to quell external opposition by raising the personal risk of opposing them
6. Has a uniform and various pieces of symbology to identify the brand
7. Has strong leadership and direction

Antifa is the KKK. They are damn near indistinguishable from the KKK. They have different uniforms and different stated goals, but if you scratch a bit of paint away, you find the same old thing.

105 Surprised to see nothing here about the Steven Crowder exposure of The Daily Wire, Big Con in bed with Big Tech.

I spent a good portion of yesterday evening reading and listening to the latest. The basics of it, in my opinion, seems to be that Crowder is upset that The Daily Wire has structured their business model and contracts to play by the censorship rules of Big Tech. Thus, this means that every Daily Wire employee must tailor their message -- ie censor themselves -- to the censorship terms of places like YouTube and Facebook. If they do not and they end up getting a "strike" or suspended from these platforms for a period of time -- and thus not be able to be on the platform making money for Daily Wire -- then the Daily Wire withholds a percentage of their pay.

Crowder wants to do away with that provision in the contracts, because it hinders anyone being able to tell the truth about anything, as their pay is tied to obeying the censorship terms of YouTube and Facebook. Crowder did not at first name Daily Wire in accusing "Big Con", but Daily Wire responded and outed themselves and pretty much every person at Daily Wire smeared Crowder as being about money. (cont.)

106 Jerry Blavat, Philly JD, “The Geter with the Heater, The Boss with the Big Hot Sauce”, passed at 82

He once survived a mob hit at the “Latin Casino” nightclub in Cherry Hill NJ, but his mob dinner guests did not.

Posted by: SMOD at January 20, 2023 08:13 AM (abbhq)

107 He was offered a 4-year, $50mil contract, which seems large at first. Except that is $12.5mil/year and is to run his business. He has about 20-25 employees he must pay salary and benefits and he has business expenses to produce his own show. He also must pay 40-something % taxes on that pay. So it's not like he is making $12.5mil/year personally. Not even close.

But the Daily Wire and their personalities -- Matt Walsh, Candace Owens, Ben Shapiro, etc -- are making this all about the contract money to ignore Crowder's main issue. Which is that Conservative outlets like Daily Wire are playing by Big Tech censorship rules and strucuturing their contracts to hurt the movement telling the truth/facts about issues. That said, where Crowder has lost a lot of people is because he employed a Project Veritas tactic of recording a phone conversation with Daily Wire CEO to expose much of this.

Whole bunch of people I follow on the right seem to be taking sides on this and it's getting ugly.

137 Antifa is landlocked in blue cities /counties. Their act will not play out in most suburban towns, and they will get physically harmed if they take their violence to the exurbs or rural America. I know plenty of people who would enjoy a confrontation with Antifa outside of a blue county. Ultimately Antifa is destroying the nest where leftists choose to live.

He did not lose me either. I can honestly understand both sides of this, but I am on the side of Crowder regarding the issue of the right hindering themselves playing by the censorship rules of Big Tech.

And this whole thing has confirmed something I have speculated for years. That the majority of conservatives on these platforms are not about actually leading a movement to take back the country, but they are doing it to make money. "It's a business." Crowder stated that is what they keep telling him. And I get that.

At the same time, it exposes that for the majority of commentators on the right, this is not about principle, but about money. It reminds me of what happened to HotAir. And what seems to have happened with places like NRO. People there were exposed as grifters, not interested in the principles of what they were saying, but of just making money off talking about it all.

And I think that's what Daily Wire is worried about now. Being exposed as possible frauds akin to HotAir and NRO.

This was impressed (brainwashed, if you will) upon us all from the early 70s on. If you watch any shows from that time period, and I still do, there are so many references to him and none of it is good. Not until things get *really* bad. When state or local finances begin to collapse, the underlying services get hit first (sanitation, etc. - the important stuff). Then the civil servants (including teachers). The cops come last.

But it can - and does - happen. It just has to get *really* bad before it does. The sanitation worker has more job security than *anyone* in the private sector at any level, but government is not, at the end of the day, immune. Look at Red China, where local finances are in shambles. They are now at the point where civil servants aren't being paid. The folks like bus drivers have been going unpaid for longer than the office workers, but it's spreading. No layoffs yet, just non-payment, forced pay cuts or furloughs. Layoffs are next.

In this country, though, we're *years* - probably more than a decade - away from that. And then the federal workforce will be another several years behind that.

||A former serviceman opened fire in a Georgian town, killing five people before turning the weapon on himself, the Caucasus country’s interior ministry said Friday.

The shooting took place overnight in Sagarejo, a town of some 10,000 people around 50 kilometres (30 miles) east of the Georgian capital Tbilisi.

The interior ministry said the gunman opened fire from the balcony of an apartment block, killing four people in the building’s courtyard and a police officer, who was called to the scene. Another five people were wounded.

The ministry said the gunman killed himself when police reinforcements arrived.

Interior Minister Vakhtang Gomelauri told local media the shooter was ex-military, who served between 2006 and 2021, including in Afghanistan. The ministry said he was born in 1974.

Police found the shooter “lying on a bed with a firearm near him” and a wound to his head, Gomelauri was quoted as saying by Georgia’s 1TV.||

210 186 Crowder vs. The Daily Wire is an example of corporate conservativism much in the same vein as the GOP. Yea, it's about the money and not so much the principle. Sadly, this is the majority stance in the Republican party and among many, if not most conservative mouthpieces.
Posted by: Martini Farmer at January 20, 2023 08:37 AM (Q4IgG)

Ultimately if Crowder wants a "movement" platform, he's going to have to do it on his own, because, unfortunately, nobody is going to want to subsidize the risk factor involved.

While he does have allies in this (again, Jeremy Hambly from The Quartering), none of them have the funding to set up the ecosystem he wants to set up.

Posted by: XTC at January 20, 2023 08:44 AM

And this is where the Right is currently doomed to failure, in my opinion. Because the Left has had the funding for their long march through the institutions for decades. Which is why they have succeeded. Meanwhile, not only does the Right not have any of this funding, no one even seems interested in trying to figure out a way to make it happen. They have just accepted their fate of having to play by the rules of the Left, censoring themselves on Left-owned platforms so they can make money.

Crowder seems to want to try to break the Right free from these restrictions. But I don't see hardly anyone else with the will to join with him to do this. It is a bold move and has to be done if any of the Right hopes to actually make a difference in this country instead of just talking on YouTube or writing on websites.

Crowder appears to have drawn attention to the fact that those operations are successful. Probably a bigger deal for him.

299 I watch Crowder and I do wish him success. I'd tell him that just because a party won't contract with him on his non-negotiable terms, that does not automatically make that party 'evil' or 'tools of Big Tech.' If he can't find an employer willing to contract with him, he needs to go do it on his own, and that's fine, and he will succeed.

Posted by: gp In The Center Of A Stool Boom at January 20, 2023 08:57 AM

From what I understand, Daily Wire is willing to contract with him. But they are not willing to change their terms where they punish employees if they get "strikes" or suspensions from Big Tech companies for violating their ever-changing censorship rules.

After what we now know about the intelligence community and government working with Big Tech to censor the Right, I would have thought this would be a hill to die on for the Right. But apparently not, at least not for those at the Daily Wire. Just like the GOPe who only rabidly attack conservatives, it seems to me those at the Daily Wire will rabidly attack Crowder over this instead of go after Big Tech.

Very enlightening and extremely disappointing. Though not surprising as I have suspected this for years.

Definitely. We're not in a tech recession yet, but the gangbusters pile-on growth of the COVID era is over and is now starting to reverse. The tech recession is downstream of the real recession. Most of the big online businesses are in the business of selling goods and advertising. Much of the rest of tech is business-to-business. Declining sales take time to filter down. The business-to-business side of things (companies like Cisco, NetApp, Palo Alto Networks, parts of Amazon and Microsoft and Google and Dell, etc.) will likely see the hit first and also much more quietly than the gigantic names everyone interacts with on a daily basis.

DW gave SC a term sheet as a starting point for negotiations. SC rejected it out of hand. SC weeks later relented and tried to resume negotiations. DW understandably told SC no, since both sides now clearly realize they are a bad fit.

SC's new venture need not be built on a foundation of hatred and suspicion of other RW media, simply because he insists on his own non-negotiable terms that nobody else will accept. SC has the skill and following to build his own new media vertical, he should do that, he will succeed, and he doesn't need to smear everybody else in the process.

I'm gonna defend Trump for a minute on this particular issue. He said rather emphatically that he did not believe in mandates. That's a key distinction. I also believe that for the targeted population of those most vulnerable his claim that it "saved lives" hold some credence. However I must say he states this as more of a boast, then a factual claim and ergo it loses some credibility. I also believe underplaying the bad effects of the vaccine on some people (especially those who really didn't need it) is a mistake. IMVHO

Just throw them all headfirst into rat-infested oubliettes, close up the ceiling, and leave them to perish. And since oubliettes aren't nursing homes, there's no age test - you could throw every Congressman and Senator in one, and then start working downward through the Courts and Cabinet departments. Once that work is done, bomb the oubliettes til the rubble bounces, and convert the site into a radioactive waste dump, and build the prison for their families on top of it.

I think that's a more comprehensive proposal.

Some relatively good news there... it seems that the alleged anti-aging effects of young blood can be replicated just by diluting the old blood plasma. Young blood doesn't have anything to do with it.

The current thinking is that crap builds up in your blood over time that can't be removed by the kidneys and liver. If you take the blood out, separate out the cells, dilute the plasma with saline and albumin, then put it back in, you get essentially the same effect that they were seeing by adding young blood.

So, the 21st Century maybe won't be QUITE as nightmarish as previously believed.

459 Good morning, and Thanks, J.J.

The left is unrelenting but we have been told by word and deed: Not one step back, by any means necessary, intersectionalsim. They'll change laws, education, our every day lives.

They're particularily effective because they ride Democratic pols, too. No Justice, No Peace for any pols, as is in their playbooks that they don't hide.

Indivisible: A Practical Guide to Defeating MAGA. (In part) In order to achieve that vision, we need to win in 2024 and prevent the coup attempt we know is coming. At all levels of government, from local village boards, to state legislatures and governors’ mansions, to senators and the White House, we need two big things.

1. We need to hold MAGA Republicans accountable for their extremism. That means forcing that extremism to the fringe and ensuring they pay the political price for it.
2. Democrats need to show up as fighters. We need them to tell a coherent and compelling core story about what it means to be a part of our coalition and refuse to collapse into passivity in the face of Republican extremism.

Have a family friend who's on his death bed. His son is a complete asshole and at some point got the land deed to claim him as owner in the event of death and no legal way to change it. Not sure how that works, but.....

He told his sister that if she wants anything, including the trailer house, she needs to get it off ASAP because when the old man dies, he's locking all the gates and no one will get shit after.

She's got to move the trailer house as soon as he passes, sell of 80 head of cattle and move all the tractors, vehicles and trailers off the land immediately, all while taking care of her dad because he's not going anywhere else to die.

Some people on this earth just don't deserve to be here.

Could be guesswork like with the flu vaccine. If they guess wrong on the flu vaccine it ends up being a lot less effective. Although the mrna stuff seems to more imitate the effect of drugs that block certain activity. If covid generally operates along the same processes then interrupting its reproductive cycle could work.

661 "And it feels that it has now created the means to do it."

Cornered animals are the most dangerous.

Deceit, lies, fraud, treachery, treason, betrayal and self-enrichment define those who rule over us.
Illegal means of acquiring office has become commonplace and ignored.

Reports of medical injury, murder and financial ruin brought on by WuFlu & lockdowns has been dismissed as "misinformation," actively suppressed, violating free speech.

Nearly everything we buy has been shipped here from C h i n a, whom we openly acknowledge as a dangerous enemy.

Now foreigners buy up US farmland, US companies, and US politicians (flush with money made from US manufacturing industries, shipped over in their entirety, rivet by rivet) plus sensitive US technology sold off, or stolen from us, or Clinton, Barry and the Dims sneaking and leaking it out the back door of the White House.

Gotta go, the brain-trust View gals are on deck to lecture white supremacy, critical race theory, oppression, reparations of 5 mill per gimmedat and compulsory whitey kneeling to appease the woke mob.

How many mansions did the BLM leaders buy for themselves? I'm so forgetful.

Here at our place the wind moved a cart we have outside on the deck for additional space when we grill. Moved it 10 feet and blew a bunch of other stuff all over the place.

Probably 40MPH here... likely higher where that sign fell.

While we support increased immigration across our border, and give credit to President Biden for increasing the number of immigrant women far more than 108%, we're disgusted that you would refer to women only by their reproductive body parts! It's like the Handmaid's Tale with you Rethuglicans!!!

I have several of his prints. I like them a lot.

YMMV.

I wrote a parody of that song about the Clintons in 2000 when carpetbagger Hillary was running for Senate. Should post the whole thing, but it would probably take a dozen comments. Here was the chorus:

Bye, Bye, Miss American Lie
Drove Vince Foster to death's roster
But Ron Brown dared to fly.
Them girls and boys were killed by your FBI
Singing "This will be the day that we die ...
This will be a village you fry."

720 I see a vendor on his way to SHOT with a demilled Carl Gustav, got stopped after he checked it in. The TSA is touting that as some kind of "win". I'm laughing my ass off at the fact the guy declared it, and they think finding a rather large 84mm launcher was a win, and some kind of warning to others. What jackasses. Now do box cutters.

'Crime-prevention' is communism on behalf of Laventriy Beria: "Show me the man and I'll show you the crime." The proof is Lt. General Michael Flynn among others.
