Good morning kids. So, Jacinda Ardern, the grim, anorectic poster-face of 21st century tyranny disguised as compassionate, enlightened governance who, along with far too many others in the supposedly free societies of the Anglosphere stripped the citizenry of their freedom and amassed illegitimate power based on the dubious danger posed by the breakout of the General Tso's Sickness, has suddenly decided to step down from the prime ministership of New Zealand.

To spend more time with her family, natch!

. . . Ardern and her left-wing Labour Party have seen their support among the public fall to its lowest level since 2017. A Kantar One News Poll last month found that the Labour Party had fallen by one per cent to just 33 per cent support, and therefore in the event of an election would likely be forced into forming a coalition government with the Green Party and the indigenous Māori Party. The poll also found that her personal popularity had fallen to 29 per cent, the lowest since before she became prime minister. . .
. . . The Ardern government drew international criticism over its attitude towards individual liberties during the Chinese coronavirus. In 2021, the the far-left prime minister openly bragged about ushering in a two-tiered society, in which those who had taken a coronavirus vaccine were granted more rights.
Ardern, an acolyte of the Davos-based World Economic Forum, also drew some pushback at home, with New Zealanders staging a Canada-style freedom convoy of their own last year, blocking off central Wellington near the parliament building over public sector vaccine mandates and other restrictions being imposed by the government.

Ardern quite literally puts the "Mao" in Māori. She locked down all of New Zealand over one case of Chinese COVID. Not even an alleged death. ONE. CASE. And then when people tried to peacefully protest she set the cops on them with rubber bullets.

Have you seen a photo of this sallow, bony harridan? Honey, eat a fucking cheeseburger. Oh wait. Davos. Cheeseburgers. If these sick fiends have their way, we'll be lucky to have a Pyongyang dirt-burger with a side of silverfish and the 32-ounce urine slushy.

. . . Eat, a global nonprofit, describes itself as seeking “a fair and sustainable global food system for healthy people and planet” that would “transform our global food system through sound science, impatient disruption and novel partnerships,” according to its website.

"Impatient disruption." Nice, little euphemism they got there. Sort of like "Final Solution." Speaking of which, Siemens is yet another German corporation that impatiently disrupted the lives of European Jews to help the war effort.

Just like Klaus Schwab's father who won the Schickelgruber Prize for being the leader of a model Nazi company. In the immortal words of Harry Shapiro, "These Nazi's ain't kosher!" But their progeny, and their spirit, live on in the warped minds of Leftists everywhere.

By the way, this notion of "greenhouse gasses," like that of "anthropogenic climate change" itself, is a complete crock of shit. I ain't no Mr. Spock, but from my admittedly cursory understanding of geology, cosmology and meteorology, (cue Sam Cook's "Wonderful World") I do know enough to know the notion that human activity will transform our atmosphere in a period of mere decades – an atmosphere by the way over 400 million decades in the making and constantly changing on its own – into that of Venus is risible.

And yet, there's Al Gore shrieking that the ocean's are boiling. Al Gore, who claimed we only had six years to save the planet or all life on earth would be wiped out. But that was back around 2004 or 2005. A bloated, venal douchebag whose science fiction snoozer An Inconvenient Truth claimed the sea levels would rise so high by the year 2015 as to swamp the coasts, and yet bought a $9 million condo in Sausalito Harbor. What is the value of real estate these days in, say, the Hamptons, Palm Beach, Malibu or the center of the Lefty universe, Martha's Vineyard? Spoiler alert: it's been rising faster than the sea level, despite Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants' destruction of the economy.

Psaki-psircling back to Jacinda Ardern, you have to wonder that with all the revelations and confirmation now about how the Chinese Lung AIDS was essentially no more dangerous than a particularly nasty strain of common flu, and worse, how the "cure" in the form of the vaccines was at best useless and at worst lethal to tens of thousands of people (that we know of), that there is some sort of correlation. At least beyond that of facing a wipeout in the next round of elections. Meh, Dao-Min Yen is global these days.

Turning our attention back over here, with even more damning evidence, both concrete and circumstantial, showing Biden and his figurative bastard son likely trading secrets for cold cash to everyone including our greatest enemy, the Chi-Coms, suddenly the Junta is pushing for mask mandates on top of last week's extension of the Chinese COVID "emergency" another few months.

Lastly and totally unrelated, yet completely related, is this story of these homosexual fiends sexually abusing their adoptive toddler. If they were dragged out of their jail cell (assuming they've been arrested and not nominated for the Presidential Medal of Freedom), beaten to a pulp and then set on fire on live television, it would be too good for them.

"For those keeping score, Rebecca had a very restful night. They woke us up at 4:00 am. Rebecca is on pain meds, so she went back to sleep. I, however, am now wide awake. And I am most definitely NOT a morning person!

Thankfully, Paul will be by later this morning so I plan on getting some shut eye in the little alcove in her room.

The United States is one such place. We import fairly little and we *need* almost none of it. If you throw in Canada, we're self-sufficient as a pair across the entire food chain. So what does the fracturing of globalization that's going on right now - starting with agriculture, of course - imply about that? We see it already in cooking oils and fertilizers. The fertilizer disruptions will take a decade to work out. What if a non-trivial amount of your food supply depends on robust international supply chains that suddenly falter? What if you're places like China or western Australia where they almost totally depend on imports of both food and agricultural inputs?

We're going to get disruption. We'll be lucky to live through it. We don't need an extra little push from the WEF.

It's a generational problem. The Gramscians are old now. Their great hero Noam Chomsky was fairly vocal about it back during the Obama administration. He was warning the new young bucks not to push too fast or they'd risk losing the hard-won progress that he and his generation won over decades.

Water is always a problem out west, as is soil quality. We're nowhere near as badly off as places like China or western Australia, but we do *need* fertilizer in large quantities. Nitrogen fertilizers, we're all set. We can make as much of that as we want. For potash, though, we depend on Canada.

I think that's part of it. I also think people don't typically think beyond their own lifespan. And when you look at the kind of folks that go to these Davos things - most of them have one thing in common. They're really damn old. And they want to see their vision of Utopia now.

I think we're saying the same thing. The old-school Gramscians wouldn't have done that. They'd have picked a couple of high-value items and gone for those, getting the next couple on the next cycle they were able to win.

This happened earlier, I think, in CO. I think CO might have been the first major post-Gramscian experiment. They got the government in 2008 and went whole-hog, immediately. They corrupted elections, screwed around with finance, changed "homeless policy" went gay, legalized pot, poured money into social programs, became a "sanctuary state," etc. and did so *very* quickly. That test case worked brilliantly

I don't quite agree, but I think it's a similar thing. As they say, there's a lot of ruin in a great nation. When the earlier Boomer parents were raising Gen Z, not enough of that ruin had set in yet. By the time the later Boomers spawned and reared the millennials, it had. They were able to indoctrinate the younger cohort much more thoroughly.

I'm getting quite a bit of contract work out of this right now (need to get busy, as a matter of fact). The big players I know of who are still installing wind power are backing it up with gas turbines. And not a small amount of turbines - about 200 MW of installed wind power right now is getting backed up with another 60 MW of turbine power.

So what are we doing ? Pretty much shutting down cheap, dependable coal and replacing it with natural gas. The wind turbines are more or less extremely high priced ornaments. A utility indulgence.

The price of natural gas is going to go through the roof - and the capital expense of all these useless wind turbines will, of course, get passed along in the price per kWh as well. I'm guess at least double. Maybe triple.

As a boomer I married young, had children early. They both came out okay for the longest time. But this is where it gets interesting. My son went off to college, but due to his tech knowledge got immediately hired by the college. Being a little arrogant (like me) he only took third and fourth years classes in tech related areas, partied hard, bought expensive toys. Years went by, a decade even, and he dribbled a few classes here and there. My wife pressured him to get the degree. So he had to take the first and second year classes. That's when I noticed the change. It was all indoctrination and I began to no longer hang with him - especially if he was gonna lecture me. They hit 'em young and early.

390 The younger people that have inherited their mission are no longer patient. They view it differently. They view it more like, "we have all this power, so why the hell aren't we using it?!" And they're probably right. They're pushing because they want to and they see it as their birthright to do so. They are not the Gramscians that installed them.

This is why I disagree completely with those who have been saying that the actions of the Left / Democrats / Deep State for the past 2 years have been out of "fear". That has never made sense to me. Everything they have been doing is because they know they have all the power and they know no one can or will stop them. They have been doing everything because they can. They don't censor and ban things out of fear, they censor, because they can. They don't cancel and abuse power of out of fear, they cancel and abuse their power, because they can.

They have been waiting for this time of ultimate power and control for years and now that they finally have it, they are using it. They fear nothing. And no one has given them a reason to fear anything.

Yep, I believe all of the above, especially the last part.

I think much of what the Left does is not out of principle of belief in something, but the principle of being against X. With X being anything that their perceived enemies believe. Which is why the Left are almost always hypocritical on issues.

They are anti-war (Afghanistan, Iraq) until they are pro-war (Obama's war efforts, Ukraine).

They are "my body, my choice" until they are not (COVID lockdown policies, COVID "vaccine" mandates).

They are "we have the right to debate and disagree with any administration" until they are in power and then censorship is not only acceptable, but essential for democracy.

The link to Daniel Greenfield's article, in particular, regarding Comcast, China and classified documents is appreciated. Some I knew, some was an eye opener.

I'm sick of its self-promotion of providing the internet to the underserved as other the underserved but invisible - elderly & urban rings immediately outside cities - foot the bill for the "charitable" expansions.

And I'm tired of it leading the charge in the region for the progressive administrations, O & Joe's & the city's included.

And I can't imagine the amount of personal data it, too, has compiled on its users through its busineses!

But, there's the occasional bright side. Despite the fact the youth enmasse are an awful pita riding their bikes, scooters & whatever through the city's theater district, I do take just a little joy that the family's sponsored & so named theater resides within their riding range.

The youth will not be detered. Making us "all in this together" - eventually.

Sexual abuse of minor in public schools? No way! Too bad journalists will never investigate that scandal with the same obsessiveness when Catholic priests did it. In any case, starve the best and pull the kids out of public schools, then implode it and take back the money. Parents will do a far better spending the hundreds of thousands for schooling.
