The Morning Report — 1/11/23

lookfatclaude.jpg

Good morning, kids. What's with all the hoopla over the Kevin McLuntz-controlled House passing a bill on Day One to repeal the funding for the new 87,000-strong Waffen-IRS division? Mazel tov, you kept your promise. The problem is, it still has to pass the Democrat-controlled Senate, where it is dead on arrival, and then not get vetoed by "President" Sponge-Brain Shits-Pants, who for sure is braindead on arrival. Yup. We're winning at last. Or is there something I'm missing? I can't seem to find evidence to the contrary.

Let's look back at another Day One: January 20th, 2017, when the GOP controlled the whole enchilada. For almost seven years prior, after passing meaningless one-page one-sentence bills repealing Obamacare, McConnell, McRyan, McBoehner and all the McRest of the McGOP had sworn up and down on a stack of Bibles that the first thing they'd do once they had full control was get it done. Yet, nearly two years later, on the cusp of losing control of the House, what happened? When finally, the GOP concocted what was an insult of a fig leaf, of a watered down, pseudo-symbolic repeal that barely nibbled at the margins of the monstrosity, John "Mc" McCain turned his thumbs down.

The bitter truth is they never wanted to repeal it. Seven years worth of one-pagers with the simple statement "The Patient Protection Care Act of 2010 is hereby repealed" and all they had to do was hand it over to President Trump and that would have been that. Two things: once a government program and bureaucracy is created, especially one that devours fully one-sixth of our economy and the power to control over 330 million people, there's no way it will ever be abolished. Second, and perhaps more crucially, with Donald Trump as their president, they for sure didn't want to get it done. They hated him (still do) and they hate us (ditto), perhaps even more because we forced their hand by electing him. Which means, rejecting them. QED.

And so here we are on Day One of a new era. Yup, Kevin McCarthy sure is a confidence-builder. Feh.

UPDATE: Commenter Nevergiveup states:

The only way to repeal the IRS funding and IRS agents is [to] include the repeal in the Debt Limit bill which has to pass. It is a possibility.

While all that nonsense is happening, we have the revelations that Joey Choo-Choo, while serving as Barack Obama's sidekick and chief fucker-upper, had kept a trove of top secret documents at a think tank of his (oh, the hilarity in the phrase "Biden think tank"). We've touched on the disgusting aspects of this, vis a vis the attempt (or latest attempt) to crucify Trump over alleged classified documents he kept at his Mar-a-Lago residence that resulted in that FBI raid that resulted in nothing of any consequence being found, and now the spin machine going faster than an Iranian enrichment plant to try and protect this old bastard, criminal pervert.

For over 50 years, Joe Biden made his bones and millions by grifting and influence peddling. And when he became more of a national political figure, that grift extended to shady dealings with foreign powers up to and including our greatest enemies. And I don't mean "climate change" or "white privilege" either. Regardless of what government is in charge of Ukraine, it remains one of the most corrupt on the planet. Surely, the interest in protecting Zelensky has got to be at least in part to protect Biden's grift from being exposed. Hello, Burisma?

But, now here's old Joe starring in "I'm Shocked! 2 - Claude Rains-face Boogaloo":

“I was briefed about this discovery, and surprised to learn that there are any government records that were taken there to that office,” Biden said, reacting for the first time to the news during a press event in Mexico City on Tuesday.

The news broke Monday that classified documents were discovered in his old office by his lawyers and reported to the National Archives.

But Biden suggested that Americans should not doubt his respect for classified documents.

“People know I take classified documents, classified information seriously,” Biden said, detailing that the documents found were in a “locked” closet of his old office.

He also insisted he did not know what was in the materials, even as CNN revealed Tuesday they included topics such as Ukraine, Iran, and the United Kingdom. Some of the discovered documents were labeled “top secret.”

“I don’t know what’s in the documents. My lawyers have not suggested I not ask what documents they were,” Biden said, speaking carefully from his notes, noting there were “boxes” of documents that were turned over to the archives. . .

. . . The documents were discovered a week before the 2022 midterm elections but were only revealed in a report first detailed by CBS on Monday.

I'm sure that's just coincidental, right? Just like identity of one of the key funders of his think tank:

At least $54 million has been donated by Chinese Communist Party-linked individuals or entities between 2014 and 2019 to the Penn Biden Center for Diplomacy and Global Engagement in Washington at the University of Pennsylvania, according to public records reported by the New York Post, where it was revealed this week that Biden had stashed a trove of classified documents.

The University of Pennsylvania announced it would create the Biden Center in 2017, the same year then-Vice President Biden left the White House. Most of the anonymous donations were given to the Biden Center after the university announced the Penn Biden Center, the Post reported.

According to the Washington Free Beacon, some of the funds were given by Shanghai real estate developer Xu Xeuqing, who reportedly has no immediate connection to the university. In 2011, Xu faced corruption allegations in China but was never charged with a crime. An expert on the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) at the American Foreign Policy Council, Michael Sobolik, told the Beacon that Xu’s non-prosecution suggests he has a close relationship to the CCP. . .

. . . According to Breitbart News’s senior contributor Peter Schweizer, Hunter made massive sums of money from Ukraine for which he “offered no real work.”

In 2018 and 2020, Schweizer published Secret Empires and Profiles in Corruption. Each book hit #1 on the New York Times bestseller list and exposed how Hunter and his father flew to China aboard Air Force Two in 2013 before Hunter’s firm inked a $1.5 billion deal with a subsidiary of the Chinese government’s Bank of China, which transpired less than two weeks after the trip. Schweizer’s work also uncovered the Biden family’s other vast and lucrative foreign deals and cronyism.

It would be bad enough if this was something like Whitewater, or the land deals that made Harry "the Searchlight Strangler" Reid a multi-millionaire by the time he ankled DC, and every other politician who gets elected and comes to DC a pauper and leaves with an 8-digit net worth. Speaking of Whitewater, does the name Wen Ho Lee ring a bell?

One of the more concerning aspects of Clinton’s cozying up to China was the Clinton administration’s failure to prosecute spies engaged in critical thefts of American military secrets.

Wen Ho Lee, a Taiwanese-American scientist working for the University of California at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, downloaded millions of lines of computer code, revealing the designs of nuclear warheads. But after being held for nine months, he was released in 2000, without being charged with espionage, although he pled guilty to mishandling computer files. Notably, a request to wiretap Lee’s phone was denied by the Clinton Department of Justice, a virtual first for the DOJ.

Another blast from the past. Loral Space:

Back in the 1990s, as longtime Clinton bagman Terry McAuliffe, now [ex-]governor of Virginia, set records raising money for the Clintons. In that era congressional investigators unearthed an elaborate Communist Chinese money-laundering scheme.

Under it money was funneled to the Clinton organization through businesspeople, including Yah Lin “Charlie” Trie. In that case, 94 individuals either refused questioning, pled the Fifth Amendment, or fled the country. Trie accepted a plea bargain with federal prosecutors in 1999 in exchange for providing information about questionable campaign contributions from China.

McAuliffe helped a company called Loral Space get seats on official trade missions. He reportedly convinced the Clinton administration to overrule national security officials in order win approval for a Loral deal that gave Red China critical missile technology. Loral’s chief executive officer became the Democratic National Committee’s largest donor and McAuliffe became DNC chairman.

According to a Wall Street Journal account from Clinton days, a bipartisan congressional inquiry “found Beijing has stolen U.S. design data for nearly all elements needed for a major nuclear attack on the U.S., such as advanced warheads, missiles, and guidance systems. Targets of the spying ranged from an Army anti-tank weapon to nearly all modern fighter jets. Most wasn’t done by professionals, but by visitors or front companies. Lax security by the Clinton Administration is blamed in part, and satellite makers Hughes and Loral are criticized.”

China’s theft of American technology gave it a 20-year head start in developing its own nuclear warhead delivery system, Horowitz writes.

Hughes and Loral, large contributors to Clinton’s campaign coffers, gave the Chinese technology to deliver nuclear payloads.

“They were able to accomplish this with indispensable assistance provided by the Clinton White House that allowed them to circumvent technology controls instituted for national-security purposes by previous administrations,” writes [David] Horowitz.

Julius and Ethel Rosenberg got the hot seat, and individuals like Robert Hanssen, Aldrich Ames and the Walkers, among others, are rotting in federal prison, deservedly so, for doing exactly what the Clinton Gang did. At least the Rosenbergs didn't take one red cent, pun intended. The others did it for money.

And that is exactly what Joe Biden has been doing, and for all we know, is still doing, while occupying, in every sense of the word, the highest office in the land. While the spotlight, for now anyway, is on him, this kind of treason cuts across party lines. Yay! Bipartisanship! Hello, Mitch McConnell and your lovely wife.

About the only thing we can hope for vis a vis the Chi-Coms is that their brand of governmental corruption is so much more corrosive than ours, by orders of magnitude, that even with the treasure trove of technology sold to them by our own leaders, that the attempt to build the missiles and warheads will come to naught. If their cat food and drywall is any indicator, then maybe we'll catch a break.

Biden, Clinton and so many others deserve to be hanged. That is not hyperbole. That is fact. Thankfully, we have Kevin McCarthy and the GOP to deliver the terrible swift sword of justice.

It's crazy to realize that we're almost certainly where we are as a nation in regards to cutting our manufacturing, production, car choices, gas stoves, heating choices, etc. because of a few million dollars spent here and there by China.

I have no doubt they are entirely behind the Global Warming nonsense and research and subsequent neutering of Western advancements and first-world status. Combine that with a few trivial amounts to people like Clinton, Biden, etc. (makes them tens of millions richer, but trivial in the sense of trillions upon trillions at stake), and the right skids get greased and legislation is passed at the federal, state, and local levels to move the Chinese interests forward.

It's brilliant when you think about it.

Remember, we passed laws that accomplished nothing earth-wise, used more energy than was saved, and it eventually was disclosed that the vast majority - arguably all - of our organized recycled efforts led to the pickups of the trash being loaded into giant ships and carted across the ocean to China where they were stacked into enormous mountains and burned.

And who made money in that deal? China. Who knows how long it was going on. I assume since the late 80s.

It was still a requirement as recent as the mid-1990s in Illinois. I remember when my neighbor sold me their Dodge Omni in 1994, I had to take it to some drive-in type place as you mention and they ran a bunch of emissions tests before providing me with some sort of emissions sticker to put on the vehicle window, I think.

But don't worry about something like this instituted for government kill switch in the future. The goal is for everyone to "own nothing and be happy". So they crash the economy, skyrocket inflation, ban ICE vehicles and no one can afford to buy any EVs. Everyone will either be walking or riding bicycles.

The EV startup Rivian is losing several top executives. The manufacturer of electric pickup trucks fell short of the 25K vehicles is was purported to build and sell. Plus its stock has tumbled 79% from it's opening price. Bankruptcy seems likely.

Some of the execs are heading over to Ford where they'll be safe for another year or two before that manufacturer goes bankrupt.

147 According to a Wall Street Journal account from Clinton days, a bipartisan congressional inquiry “found Beijing has stolen U.S. design data for nearly all elements needed for a major nuclear attack on the U.S., such as advanced warheads, missiles, and guidance systems. Targets of the spying ranged from an Army anti-tank weapon to nearly all modern fighter jets. Most wasn’t done by professionals, but by visitors or front companies. Lax security by the Clinton Administration is blamed in part, and satellite makers Hughes and Loral are criticized.”

And the cars aren't even on the lot. You can't go look at them or test drive them.

That's not even getting into the price. $32K for a base family car, $47K for a base full size truck. Used cars cost as much as new, and sometimes more if the options are right.

Families are being conditioned to only be able to afford one vehicle.

Problem is that it's similar to the drop in inflation. We dropped from (official BS numbers) 8% to 7%, but that means that inflation is still rolling along at 7% every year. That's not a drop when it's traditionally 2%. That's just a drop from 8%. 7% is still destroying your savings.

A used Accord dropping from $25K to $24K when inflation is eating $5-$10K out of your paycheck is still not really a drop in price, only on paper.

Now ignore that it apparently didn't matter this was happening under Obama or the first two years of Biden.

If the Reps knew how to, and wanted to, play politics they could restrict the number of audits of people making less then $1M/year couldn't they?

I mean get rid of these new agents is a better answer but they don't have the power to do that. They could put a rider in the debt limit though forcing these new agents to audit "the rich" as the Dems claim they want...

217 There is a fifth dimension beyond that which is known to man. It is a dimension as vast as space and as timeless as infinity. It is the middle ground between light and shadow, between science and superstition, and it lies between the pit of man's fears and the summit of his knowledge. This is the dimension of imagination. It is an area which we call the Birdbath Zone.

220 195 Not sure about claims regarding a car bubble. Car sales haven't changed much, unlike RV sales for example.

Posted by: Red Turban Someguy
----------------

Go try to buy one. MSRP is the price, no negotiations at all, and if someone else is interested in what you're looking at you'll pay 3-15% more than MSRP.

Blinken was also running a consulting firm called WestExec Advisors which was made up largely of former Obama era bureaucrats, many of whom are now part of the Biden administration including Aviril Haines who worked in the Obama CIA and is now the DNI. Also, she's an idiot.

One of the specialities of WestExec was advising universities on how to get money from China without violating US government rules. Blinken also has very deep ties in China.

I sincerely doubt the few pages of classified documents that were reported found at the Biden Center are the only classified documents this corrupt crew has in their possession.

The fact is, they never want to repeal any Dem bill, because (R)enfield lives to serve (D)racula. And they reasonably believed that having our political system sewed up so tightly meant they'd never be in a position to have full GOP control ever again. So clean repeals were safe theater.

And then, out of nowhere, DJT stormed to victory and dragged those sorry bastards in Congress over the line with him, and in spite of their own best efforts. That put them in a very bad place regarding Obamacare, and it fell to that cancer-ridden short-timer to jump on the grenade.

Given all of the action around banning natural gas, though, I am wondering if I should just bite the bullet and replace it preemptively to buy 15-20 years before I have to figure out alternatives.

Any hacking will brick the onboard computer, and we all know that. And no fuel injected engine in a modern vehicle will run with a bricked computer. Oh, and I'm sure the car will send out an encrypted signal to the state that the car has been tampered with. Why I still drive my '06 Mustang with 362,000 miles on the odometer, and I have a 57 Chevy in the garage along with my 70 Chevelle I purchased new in 1970. But, even then, it wouldn't take much for the bastards in Trenton to make those cars illegal to register. There was a move nationally about 25 years ago to take ALL older classic vehicles off the road. It failed after the classic car organizations exposed the proposal.

We went through this with Hillary: when it comes to a person's handling of classified documents motive and intent do not matter. Parker Exotic Pets owner Kristen Gupton said what happened to the snake is cruel and a form of abuse committed by the person who likely dumped the snake at the hotel.

“It may not be like a dog or a cat that’s furry, but it’s still a living animal. It deserves some respect. They still have emotions” Gupton said.

457 President Joe Biden on Wednesday responded to the news of a catastrophic Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) computer outage by ordering the department to turn the systems back on.

“The president directed DOT/FAA to restore the system quickly and safely, and to determine causes,” White House chief of staff Ron Klain informed the public on social media, asserting that Biden was on top of the situation.

.. is the FAA so micro-managed that they need an order from the White House to restart the nation's air traffic system ?

They even stole Trump's language for banal announcements. Boy are they ever jealous we had him on our side.

460 In a former job, we had to deal with Hauwei at one point. Their money numbers are so big that every time they said for some IP, our marketing department fell all over each other to give it to them, in the hopes of getting a large contract.

Eventually, we figured out that if we claimed it contained 3rd-party intellectual property, they they would demur.

I'm kind of shocked that ATC all apparently goes through the FAA's centralized system instead of being distributed. But I suppose central planners gonna one-point-of-failure.

462 The way to rein in these agencies is to use them against the Dems. There must be a few dozen MAGA IRS agents that would audit every tech company in California for the next 5 years. That shit would stop toot suite.

Pitchforks?

No, how about a Tyler Durden . . .

465 The best thing about the Biden classified documents is that he recently gave an interview where he claimed that things like this just don't happen by accident because of all the checks and balances involving classified materials, and even if they did the person should be punished for it.

Absolutely perfect.

I'm one hundred percent certain that every IRS agent, from top to bottom is a reprobate and serves their father the Devil.

467 Yup. We're winning at last. Or is there something I'm missing? I can't seem to find evidence to the contrary.

469 The documents were discovered a week before the 2022 midterm elections but were only revealed in a report first detailed by CBS on Monday.

Of course they were found and known before the election. But if it hurts a Dem, the MSM has to bury it until it can't hurt an election.

I believe it's Searchlight strangler, as in Searchlight, Nevada, where Harry once lived.

Kim Ogg and ilk like her need to be visited repeatedly in the middle of the night by the type of folks they let out. Doesn't bother me if it's a permanent lesson for them, as they plead prosecutorial immunity and bleed out.

473 Atmospheric River hits CA, yet most of that water will go to waste and in 6mo we'll be in drought conditions again. Why? Lefist stupidity. No new dams built in last 30-40 years, and old dams being decommissioned. Oh, and flush tons of water down the river for fish that will probably to extinct anyway.
I mean, what could POSSIBLY go wrong doing that?!

474 Many Muslims were not happy to see Islamic scriptures displayed in ‘filthy’ places. Muslim groups had previously accused everything from a Nike sneaker to an ice cream swirl, and any set of curves, of blasphemously containing Allah’s name. They were enraged to see it being offered up for tattoos or hanging in the bathroom of a urologist’s office.

I bet they'd love to see his name tatooed on a pig's ass. Koranic bacon.

475 The bulk of the CCP's money to u-penn was conveyed after biden announcing his run for the white house. upenn's student newspaper reported that with the $700K some odd payments to biden as a professor there he didn't teach a single class and was seen on campus only 4 times at that. Getting very late in America. SHTF imminent.

479 I’ve lost the ability to care about, or to understand the pointlessness or, JJ’s daily rantings.

It’s become obvious only the elite are allowed to live well and to sell out the USA. Everybody else must follow “the Rules” and “the Science”; and eventually, very soon “Eat the Bugs.”

Everything else, including the daily “events” on Capitol Hill, are meant to keep the prols occupied, picking sides, and hating each other.

President Trump was the ONLY person who made this charade obvious to millions upon millions of average citizens (red-pilled them); which is why the elite (and their borgs) cannot rest until President Trump is pounded into dust so no one like him rises again.

And naive tools who think the anti-groomer down in Florida is going to increase the standard of living of working class Americans like Trump did in his first three years in office, have a malfunction.
