Former Head of the FDA Turned Pfizer Director Scott Gottlieb (How Convenient) Pressured Twitter to Deplatform Anyone Claiming, Accurately, That Natural Immunity Was Stronger Than That Provided by Pfizer's Leaky Non-Vaccine

Former government official now working with what is essentially a government partner corporation is telling government-tolerated monopolies who to censor.

On August 27, 2021, Dr. Scott Gottlieb -- a Pfizer director with over 550,000 Twitter followers -- saw a tweet he didn't like, a tweet that might hurt sales of Pfizer's mRNA vaccines.

The tweet explained correctly that natural immunity after Covid infection was superior to vaccine protection. It called on the White House to "follow the science" and exempt people with natural immunity from upcoming vaccine mandates.

It came not from an "anti-vaxxer" like Robert F. Kennedy Jr., but from Dr. Brett Giroir, a physician who had briefly followed Gottlieb as the head of the Food & Drug Administration. Further, the tweet actually encouraged people who did not have natural immunity to "Get vaccinated!"

No matter.

By suggesting some people might not need Covid vaccinations, the tweet could raise questions about the shots. Besides being former FDA commissioner, a CNBC contributor, and a prominent voice on Covid public policy, Gottlieb was a senior board member at Pfizer, which depended on mRNA jabs for almost half its $81 billion in sales in 2021. Pfizer paid Gottlieb $365,000 for his work that year.

Gottlieb stepped in, emailing Todd O'Boyle, a top lobbyist in Twitter's Washington office who was also Twitter's point of contact with the White House.

The post was "corrosive," Gottlieb wrote. He worried it would "end up going viral and driving news coverage."

...

Through Jira, an internal system Twitter used for managing complaints, O'Boyle forwarded Gottlieb's email to the Twitter "Strategic Response" team. That group was responsible for handling concerns from the company's most important employees and users.

"Please see this report from the former FDA commissioner," O'Boyle wrote - failing to mention that Gottlieb was a Pfizer board member with a financial interest in pushing mRNA shots.

A Strategic Response analyst quickly found the tweet did not violate any of the company's misinformation rules.

Yet Twitter wound up flagging Giroir's tweet anyway, putting a misleading tag on it and preventing almost anyone from seeing it. It remains tagged even though several large studies have confirmed the truth of Giroir's words.

Gottlieb wasn't done protecting Pfizer's market share, though:

A week later, on Sept. 3, 2021, Gottlieb tried to strike again, complaining to O'Boyle about a tweet from Justin Hart. Hart is a lockdown and Covid vaccine skeptic with more than 100,000 Twitter followers.

"Sticks and stones may break my bones but a viral pathogen with a child mortality rate of <>0% has cost our children nearly three years of schooling," Hart had written.

Why Gottlieb objected to Hart's words is not clear, but the Pfizer shot would soon be approved for children 5 to 11, representing another massive market for Pfizer, if parents could be convinced Covid was a real threat to their kids.

Gottlieb also pressured Twitter to censor Alex Berenson. Berenson received proof of that as part of his lawsuit against Twitter and the Biden Administration.

Gottlieb could not deny he frequently wrote to Twitter demanding they censor people interfering with Pfizer's market potential.

So he lied about the reasons for doing so:

But in an interview with Joe Kernan of CNBC, Gottlieb said he had asked Twitter to act only because he was concerned if tweets raised the threat of violence against vaccine advocates.

Relatedly: Here's something that would get you deplatformed for mentioning. Vitamin D provides you significant protection against covid. I'm not sure I trust that study -- it also claims that mask-wearing reduces risk, as does cigarette smoking (!) and marijuana smoking. I

Meanwhile, the Republican AGs's lawsuit against the Biden Administration has disclosed proof that Biden's top officials, and maybe Biden himself, was responsible for pressuring social media monopolies to censor Tucker Carlson.

[O]n April 14, 2021, Rob Flaherty, then director of digital strategy for the White House, wrote to a Facebook official (and copied Flaherty) complaining about a Tucker Carlson video discussing the risk of blood clots with the J&J COVID vaccine (you can read the emails for yourself below). "Since we've been on the phone--the top post about vaccines today is Tucker Carlson saying they don't work. Yesterday was Tomi Lehren saying she won't' take one," he said. "This is exactly why I want to know what 'Reduction' [of posts from the vaccine hesitant] actually looks like--if 'reduction' means 'pumping our most vaccine hesitant audience with tucker [sic] Carlson saying it doesn't work' then...I'm not sure it's reduction!"

The Facebook official replied, "Running this down now."

Slavitt jumped into the email thread: "Number one on Facebook. Sigh. Big reveal call with FB and WH today. No progress since we spoke. Sigh."

Apparently, Facebook didn't respond quickly enough to the White House's demands, so Flaherty shot back three hours later, "These questions weren't rhetorical."

In other words: We demand action. We're not just engaging in discourse.

The Facebook official countered that Tucker's wasn't actually the most popular piece of content on the platform, citing vaccine-related posts from the New York Times, CNN, the CDC, and others, and explained that the post had been demoted, slapped with a "pointer to authoritative COVID information," and is "not being recommended to people."

"Regardless of popularity," he added, "the Tucker Carlson video does not qualify for removal under our policies."

He explained that following the government's decision the day before to put a "pause" on the J&J vaccine, "We are allowing claims that the Johnson and Johnson vaccine causes blood clots, but we still do not allow categorical claims that it or other vaccines are unsafe or ineffective."

Seemingly frustrated with the decision not to remove the video, Flaherty emailed again at 11:20 p.m. that night: "I guess this is a good example of your rules in practice then--and a chance to dive in on questions as they're applied."

"How was [Tucker's video] not violative?" Flaherty demanded. "The second half of the segment is raising conspiracy theories about the government hiding that all vaccines aren't effective. It's not just about J&J. What exactly is the rule for removal vs. demoting? What does that mean? There's 40,000 shares on the video. Who is seeing it now? How many? How effective is that?"

"Not for nothing," he added in a cryptic message from his iPhone, "but the last time we did this dance, it ended in an insurrection." In other words, Flaherty blamed Facebook's policies for the Jan. 6th Capitol riot.

David French maintains that none of this is censorship, and all of this is just how the First Amendment is supposed to work.

Don't ask him if Big Tech is paying him. He won't tell you. In fact, he'll tell you he has a First Amendment right to keep that confidential.

16 Documents obtained by NATIONAL FILE show that the University of Pennsylvania, which hosts and funds Joe Biden’s think tank called the Penn Biden Center, directly profits from the sale of Pfizer-BioNTech and Moderna Coronavirus vaccines. The University gets more money if more vaccines are sold. The University of Pennsylvania also gets “milestone payments” when the Biden administration’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approves a Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine, which represents a massive conflict of interest for Biden. BioNTech pays the University of Pennsylvania Board of Trustees directly, and the university is protected from civil liability if people try to sue for “bodily injury” or “death” caused by BioNTech vaccines.

According to the SEC Licensing Agreement, BioNTech pays the University of Pennsylvania with “milestone payments” for each vaccine approval application that gets approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) or another regulatory agency, up to the first three approvals.

17 Smokers actually didn't catch covid much. So it's not out of the realm of possibility.

There's a clinical trial about it:

https://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT04583410

"Daily active smokers are infrequent among outpatients or hospitalized patients with COVID-19. Several arguments suggest that nicotine is responsible for this protective effect via the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR).

Nicotine may inhibit the penetration and spread of the virus and have a prophylactic effect in COVID-19 infection."

73 Also, keep in mind that there is a Patent suit on the Moderna non-vaccine. The US Govt. is trying to add three NIH scientists (government employees) into the patent, and Moderna is fighting that inclusion.
_____________

Here's the situation: any of the patentees can license the rights to the patent at will. Government scientists employed to perform research have an obligation (as a condition of employment) to assign their patent rights to the government (i.e., the government has an ownership right in the patent), which means the government gets ... royalty-free rights to the invention.

83 Gottlieb was one of the earliest and most egregious of the "establishment" figures pushing nonsense and unscientific b.s., even before "vaccines" entered the picture. He was so ID'd by the intelligent independent observers who were flourishing on the twatters at the time, and I'm sure I shared some of that here.

The ridiculously conflicted and incestuous situation WRT the FDA and pharma of course is not new, but as with so much else, The Great Idiocy revealed just how bad it had become.

Recall that 2 of the top actual board members at FDA overseeing vaccine recommendations resigned over the outrageous and ridiculous recos re child vaccination. This was a very big deal, without much historical analogue, of the sort that in the Old America would have by itself been a major scandal and led to corrective action.

126 ||PARIS (Reuters) - French researchers are preparing to launch a human trial to test their hypothesis that nicotine can help the body combat the COVID-19 infection.

The trial will involve groups of healthcare workers and patients wearing nicotine patches and other groups wearing placebo patches. Then they will be tested to see if there is a difference in how their bodies respond to the virus. [...]

Amoura said the most significant part of the trial could be the testing on a sample group of 1,500 health professionals.

They will be assessed to see if they catch the virus, and whether those wearing the nicotine patches are more resistant than their colleagues wearing the placebo patches.

“That could give us a way to reduce the spread of the virus,” said Amoura.

Similar testing will be carried out on 400 people who have been hospitalised with coronavirus symptoms, to understand if nicotine alters the progress of the disease.||

Herd immunity was seriously lowered during lock downs and as a result, people are getting sicker now with a cold, flu, or COVID. I had the flu (even though vaccinated) for 9 days throughout Christmas and New Years and got to the point where I almost went to the ER because I was feeling so bad and live alone. Under normal circumstances.

But everyone in the institutions was given an implicit (and an explicit one, in Pfizer's case) guarantee that there would be no repercussions for complying with this stuff, because it's super, super important for the regime. This was a precedent setter.

And it won't be the last time an emergency is used as a pretext for non-governmental actors to violate civil liberties on behalf of the government. It will happen more and more frequently until it's the day-to-day reality of governance in this country.

There can't be public consequences for any of the COVID excesses, because it would imperil future initiatives. And so, there won't be. And I think every attorney in America understands that... Any case would die on the vine before they got paid, and they'd be professionally ruined by the end of it, at very least. Literally no upside to it.

158 I can't really claim that my pipe smoking helped me fend off the coof. First, I think I had it, an early form, in Dec. 2019. Second, I was fine all through 2020, and did not pick up the pipe again until early '21. I wasn't sick until late June of '22, when (I suspect) the vet we took the Stirling kitten to, a young guy, was wearing a stupid face diaper -- though he didn't insist that we do so. Miss Linda and I both came down with basically a mild cold after that. She had a little rougher time, and swore her "test" came back positive for Da Coof.

So, no, I can't claim that occasional pipe smoking helps. But it didn't hurt!

||The trial is a follow-up to a French study, published this month, of public health data which appeared to show that people who smoke are 80% less likely to catch COVID-19 than non-smokers of the same age and sex.

The scientists hypothesised in their study that nicotine, which is contained in cigarettes, could influence whether or not the coronavirus molecules are able to attach themselves to receptors in the body.

“You have the virus which arrives on the receptor, and the nicotine blocks that, and they separate,” said Jean-Pierre Changeux, emeritus professor of neuroscience at France’s Pasteur institute, describing the hypothetical process.

He co-authored the study with Zahir Amoura, a professor at Paris’ Pitie-Salpetriere University Hospital, and they are both conducting the trial.||

Usually true. I went to one restaurant (once, never again), where I ordered it hot. The waitress asked if I'd been there before and refused to bring it out. I told her that I am familiar with what "Thai Hot" means, and that I promised not send ti back even if I couldn't handle it. She refused, and said the hottest she would bring me was medium. I agreed.

When she brought it out, she said, "I brought you mild." A few minutes later she came back and asked me if it was hot enough. I said, "I ordered hot and refused, so we agreed on medium but you brought me mild. No, it isn't hot enough." She got a pot of their demon spice and slammed it on the table and didn't come back again.

In 2021-2022, it started low, at 4 deaths and 7 collapses in January 2021 and in June of that year the deaths started to acellerate, going from 7 deaths and 20 collapses to 92 deaths and 136 collapses by December 2021.

The tragedy hit a peak of 95 deaths and 139 collapses in February of 2022, and still is in the double digits. The chart is... disturbing, with the lowest rate last year 46 deaths and 65 collapses in May.

284 By suggesting some people might not need Covid vaccinations, the tweet could raise questions about the shots.

This significantly understates the corruption, since Gottlieb has also been awarded nearly 20 million
Pfizer shares, worth an unknown amount after netting out acquisition cost. My guess is he's made over a hundred million dollars from the shares but that is a WAG. The gross value of the stock is over a billion dollars.

For the two-week period from Oct. 3-16, the span for which the most recent data are available, 94.1% of all NFL players are vaccinated against COVID-19, according to an NFL press release. According to the NFL, there were 2,422 players in the league during that two-week period. Using the league's data, that means  2,279 are vaccinated and 143 were unvaccinated during that period.

California *desperately* needs the water, Elle. If you're worried about something, worry about your state government failing to finish the California Water Project, grossly mismanaging water resources, failing to do adequate (or any, depending on context) environmental management and failing to maintain flood-control and water infrastructure.

I don't believe the drought stats either. I remember years when this area got much less rain than in these last years - like 0 during fall and winter. But I do hear of the government wanting to force draconian water limit policies to everyone aside from the rich and a drought fits right into that plan.
