Jack Posobiec: Former Head FBI Laywer James Baker Was Scrubbing References to the FBI from the Twitter Files Before He Allowed Matt Taibbi and Bari Weiss to See Them

I'm not fully invested in this because Posobiec drops this casually, when it is really huge news. How clear was Taibbi in making this statement? Is there any supposition here on Posobiec's part?

We should know soon enough when Bari Weiss (who's doing the next tranche of the Twitter Files) starts posting.

This exchange between Musk and a Twitter user about Baker is interesting, but Musk is not clear about what he's talking about -- is he talking about Baker's role in the previous suppression of the Hunter Biden laptop (recommending that the company do so, in accordance with the FBI's strong, strong hints that it should) or is he referring to his recent suppression of Twitter Files material?

Unclear, alas!

If this is true, then James Baker, a lawyer, was screwing over his client in order to protect the reputation of a vile former employer, the FBI.

Also: If he's willing to cross this very clear, painfully bright ethical line, what other scorchingly bright lines did he cross at Twitter? Like, for example: Was he acting as the FBI's back-channel to Twitter, telling them to censor the Hunter Biden laptop so that the FBI could avoid doing so itself?

And before that, what lines did he cross at the FBI? (he was Michael Sussman's contact at DOJ and was essentially a hostile witness against the prosecution, trying to bail his good leftwing friend out of a jam) and in the Kevin Clinesmith doctored FISA application.

What else did he do?

I would say he should be disbarred but we all know there's a special unwritten rule that says lawyers can always champion Regime Interests over those of their nominal employers, right?

Baker was looking at the resulting content and having the devs then scan the results for any mention of the FBI and pulling all those (before sending to Taibbi).

yeah, but hard to imagine one guy (like Baker) had the access to completely scrub all evidence. Backups must be kept out of the reach of saboteurs, although there might be some that would help. (but they too would then be at risk).

It does help to have a corrupt FBI/DOJ protecting/encouraging you though. Garland/Wray can hide all the connections in some "Under Investigation for the next decade" file next to the Ark of the Covenant. But Musk and his other lawyers might still have access.

E discovery. Baker as a FBI lawyer would be well aware of it, the process and how he could impact it. You run a search, the data comes, then you exclude things from that pool using limiters/filters. I bet he filtered out his name and the names of his co conspirators. What you really want to see, is what limiters he imposed on the data. That will tell you A LOT.

Understand how insidious this is. If the data was wiped then it would have been obvious that it was destroyed and there would be efforts to recover/reconstruct/ find out who did it. If you are producing things from electronic database, the query is generated and you get say 50,000 emails or maybe 150,000. The actual number doesn't matter its just for the illustration. Then unknown to you somebody takes that result of x thousand emails, imposes a filter on it that restricts any emails that include the word FBI, or "James Baker" or the names of his other co conspirators, or other code words. The data base reduced by a hundred emails. Because there was no way to know how many emails the original query was going to generate, there is no way to know any were missing. No reason to suspect it. No reason to go looking for missing emails. Perfect coverup. The only way they found out is that there was a delay.

He was an FBI lawyer. Ediscovery is pretty much intrinsic to their work. There are a lot of programs that let a dummy filter a data set. Just understand that he can intervene and Filter out data easily. All he has to do, is tell IT after the query is done, and before it is forwarded. You send it to me and I will send it back to you approved for release. (he could say, I'm just checking it to make sure there are no regulatory compliance issues raised . . . ) When he gets the data, he puts it into a program. He tells the program to filter out any email that says "FBI" or "James Baker" etc etc. He knows the list of people he needs to protect and their email addresses. He runs the filters. Then the data is reduced by several hundred emails. He then forwards that back to IT as having been the cleared, approved for release. That is forwarded to the reporters - unbeknownst to them it was filtered.

ITs a great show. This one guy goes and finds old cars that can be fixed up as cheap as he can, then takes them to the second guy, the mechanic, who works on them showing what has to be done and how, then they try to sell the car and make a profit. Sometimes they don't. Most of the time the profit is slim enough that if the mechanic charged for his time, they wouldn't make money.

But it is surprpisingly entertaining stuff, especially the earliest shows when they had a tiny budget. Although the mechanic back then was kind of a douche.

Okay, this is gonna seem silly but...
When my dad died, my brothers and I (+spouses) had a lot to do. I was the executor of the estate and it was just overwhelming from start to finish. When I couldn't take any more of anything, couldn't even concentrate long enough to hang out here, I watched Bob Ross Joy of Painting series. I have no idea why that show was the one soothing, calming thing for me that let me decompress and focus my mind.
It was the same when my first husband passed 20 yrs ago. Back then I just watched baseball. Didn't know the score or who was playing most of the time. Just watching helped me get through the darkest parts.

So you can get PTSD outside of battlefield experience. Sorry for your loss. I recall when my Father died, relatively young after a short illness it was very traumatic. I would have dreams for months about his still being alive and then wake to disappointment. I would be in crowds, airports, sporting events, and glimpse someone maybe at a distance or walking away from me that for an instant I would swear was him, but it wasn't. They just vaguely reminded me of him. It felt like I was missing a body part. to the point where I would look down to check if my arms and legs were still there. They were. It took about a year for all that to completely stop.

My mom found her mom (my Gammy) deceased in 1997.

Yeah I found Joel. I did CPR on him until the EMT took over. That image is burned into my brain and it probably will never go away.

Yep. But two reporters looking to post them quickly might not pick it up. Especially if the way they are produced makes it hard to follow conversations. For example instead of being organized by sender, the data is produced organized by date/time. So that every email for a given date (could be hundreds or thousands) for every single user in the system on that date is produced rather than organizing the emails of a single user chronologically, then the next user etc etc making the conversations easier to track.

The idea that two guys could accurately review everything and figure it out in a weekend, is highly unlikely if it was turned out in a giant dump that was designed to be difficult to follow.

I recommend cutting them well down in the late fall. The more you cut them back the more robustly they will sprout new "arms". If you leave them, the arms get woody and they don't sprout as many stemmed flowers.

Also depending on type, like a rose tree for example, and early wet heavy snow can snap the wood branches, or the trunk of the rose tree.
