Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Four College Kids Were Brutally Murdered In Idaho But There's No Attack Angle for the Democrat Party So Their Deaths Don't MatterOn November 13, between 3am and 4am, a killer crept into a house and butchered four people with a knife on the campus of the University of Idaho. They victims are not members of Democrat Grievance Group nor was the weapon used a Hate Weapon like a gun so the Corporate Propaganda Press has decided that these murders are Non-Useful. Oh, also: The murders did not happen in NY, LA, or DC. Just some Flyover Country corpses. No big deal. The killer is still unknown and at large. The four victims are Kaylee Goncalves, 21, Madison Mogen, 21, Xana Kernodle, 20, and the only male, Ethan Chapin, 20. Strangely, there were two other housemates downstairs who did not wake during the murders, and also -- though this is not confirmed -- a dog in the house who did not stir. The four murdered students were found on the second and third floor of their home, but the two roommates living on the ground floor -- Bethany Funke and Dylan Mortensen -- were spared. It's unclear why the two roommates were not killed and if they slept through the attacks. Funke and Mortensen had also been out that night and arrived home just after 1 a.m. the morning of the murder. Neither has spoken publicly about the murders, but showed off matching tattoos to commemorate their fallen friends. It has also emerged that murdered roommate Kaylee Goncalves' dog, Murphy, was at the house when police responded around midday. However, authorities have not confirmed if they believe the dog was in the house at the time of the murders. ... Authorities do not know who is responsible for the killings, but they have ruled out a slew of suspects, including: Goncalves' ex-boyfriend DeCoeur; the man seen with Goncalves and Mogen at the food truck; the person who drove the two girls home; the surviving two roommates, Mortensen and Funke; the victims themselves, as there is no evidence of a murder-suicide; and the friends summoned to the house by the surviving roommates the morning of Nov. 13. Rumors circulated that Goncalves had said she had a stalker, but police have been unable to substantiate the claims. Famed former FBI profiler Jim Clemente told The Post he believes the suspect is a "younger" man and a first-time killer who knew at least one of the victims. "This is an extremely risky crime for the offender -- unless he knows one or more of the victims, or he's been stalking one of them," he said. "Going into an occupied dwelling with six young adults, any of whom could have a knife or a gun or a cellphone to call the police is extremely risky unless you know the circumstances inside."The police seem to have nothing to go on, no witness reports, no forensics. Which is leading the media and general public to just start speculating and accusing baselessly. A third-year law student is being accused of having something to do with the murder, based, it seems, only on him being tagged as being "socially awkward" in televised man-on-the-street media interviews. Kaylee Goncalves' father has not yet held a funeral or commemoration service for his slain daughter, just out of disgust that the killer might show up. "My wife's biggest fear, part of the reason we didn't have a funeral, is because she couldn't be guaranteed that that monster was going to not be there," he told ABC News. He insisted that he still supports and trusts the law enforcement officers who are working the case, despite a lack of results so far and the killer still on the loose. "I have to assume and hope that this is all part of their plan and ... they've got this all figured out," he told the news network. That's a really good reason to have a funeral. I wonder if the cops are telling him to hold off on the funeral and make a big deal about not wanting the killer there to make the killer feel like he has to attend. He says the weapon used -- which I guess is unspecified as to type -- is a "brutal weapon" which left large wounds in its victims. Correction: Oschisms points out the weapon has been ID'd as a Ka-Bar knife. He says that the NY Post -- great conservative paper! -- called the knife an "assault knife" already. But Mr Goncalves says that his daughter and the other victims died quickly in the attack, which was carried out using a "brutal weapon", that has left the university town on edge. "Nobody suffered and nobody felt like that kind of pain," added Mr Goncalves. "The detective said this weapon is probably something (the killer) paid money for and something that they're proud of," he said. Horrifying stuff. But who cares? There's no way to squeeze a point of Democrat political support out of it! Note: Commenters said that there was a lot of forensic evidence being processed. Okay, but that kind of evidence does not provide leads, unless you're already In The System. If you've got a clean record, police may pull your prints at a murder site, but they won't find you when they search your prints on VICAP or whatever it's called. If they had something that could provide that kind of lead, we'd probably already know. The stuff they're getting is confirmatory stuff, stuff you can use to prove the suspect is guilty only after you've identified the suspect. That is, only once you've found a suspect and printed him can you compare his prints to the prints you found in the house. I think it's pretty clear that, for now, the police have almost nothing. That's not intended to be an insult. Sometimes a killer just leaves nothing much behind. Sometimes it's not even because he's careful or clever; he just doesn't bleed and leave DNA behind. He gets lucky. And if he hasn't previously been arrested and fingerprinted, he can leave his prints all over the place and that won't help you find him. They'll help you convict him after you find him, but they won't help you find him in the first place. Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Sure, it's "risky", but if you're off your rocker, "risk" isn't really a determining factor in your actions, is it? So it may have literally nothing to do with the psychological profile of the murderer?

During the Trump years, an immigrant imported to work at the Chobani yogurt plant in Twin Falls, ID committed a violent crime and the media did all they could to hide it. @16 I find it interesting what the media chooses to obsess over and what it glosses over. Gabby Petito's story was wall-to-wall for weeks.
---- When Kermit Gosnell was standing trial and being ignored by the media outlets, we had wall to wall media coverage of some young woman who murdered her boyfriend. Jodi Arias, I think her name was? I ignored the articles about her at the time (the name meant nothing to me). But I remembered seeing the headlines all over the place, and years later finally got curious enough to check out the story. It was so unimportant of a thing on anything beyond a local scale that the only rationale for running the story that makes sense is that the news media knew that they had to find something to distract from Gosnell. NEWS: John Thune, the No. 2 Senate GOP leader, says in interview Senate Repubs want to leverage the next US debt limit increase to force federal spending cuts and changes to Social Security and other entitlement programs. The GOPe - party of corporate tax cuts, deficit reduction, and now gutting Social Security. Remember when the Democrats accused the Republicans of wanting to gut Social Security before the election, and conservatives said that was a lie? Ha-ha - good times, suckers! Watch - they're going to "means test" Social Security, thereby screwing every Social Security recipient who was stupid enough to try and save for retirement. I think it's a great time (exchange-rate-wise) to visit Europe or Japan, though that first option might involve taking some polypro long underwear and winter gear for your un/under-heated room (Pootin!!!). Can heartily reco Japan during the holidays. A time when Japan's quirky, weird, but wonderful fusion of adopted cultural stuff is on its best display. Amazing holiday decorations. Fantastic Christmas-themed goodies in the fantastic food courts at department stores. Christmas dinner at KFC! (but you'd better get your reservations in now). And - no knife murders. And no street crime, really. Unfailing politeness verging on solicitousness for gaijin strangers, in most situations. One bit of good has come from it: Ethan Chapin was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. To date, over $45k has been raised. I have also read that at least one of the girl's families has also started a scholarship fund. There was probably so much traffic in that house that the dog probably is numb to it. Another factor is type and age of dog. My dog use to go ballistic if the doorbell rang. Now she's 12 and could care less. So a dog not barking is that big a flag depending on type of dog, age of dog, etc.

It's probably a confluence of numerous factors...
The kids were drunk and passed out, the killer was familiar enough with them and the house that they were able to enter fairly easily, their actions were brutal and swift so that's why no one, even the dog were aware of the horrors that had just unfolded, they made a quick exit. Very sad. Posted by: Thomas Bender at November 30, 2022 12:37 PM (z4WDg) 245

They think it is someone who knew one of the kids and the circumstances of the house. And that it is a first time, because it was a high risk situation and most experience serial killers have polished their game. (They come with a murder kit, that have a way to isolate the victims so they won't be interrupted, the killer also probably made some mistakes . . .) Alternatively, if they think it is a serial, they are trying to draw the killer out by calling it amateur.
Posted by: yeah okay - qualifier at November 30, 2022 12:28 PM (PYdU5) I tend to agree - case histories of serial killers show that they tend to one victim at a time, carefully secluded. Since they are planning it, they plan to carry out the murder with maximum safety for themselves. This was a high risk attack. == That said, If I recall correctly, Richard Speck broke into and killed like a house full of nursing students. "How about leveraging the GOP's limited power in order to force the government to issue a massive number of new oil and gas permits? How about a swath of new nuclear plants so that we can have cheap energy? How about selling off some of the vast federal land holdings out west?"
Exactly! To that list add an erased border/evaporated rule of law in immigration, the fundamental disaster of allowing an outlandish hypothesis (AGW) to run, ruin, and impoverish all human activity, and a serious renewed emphasis on fiscal insanity and how it fuels both inflation longer term ruin? (OK, can't say that last one with a straight face any more - fiscal sanity has gone from the central and constant issue of contention to literally unheard-of in a few decades) But the GOP is not the Trump GOP (ooh, he's icky and stuff, I know, but just happens to be the first major figure to be serious about serious issues in an eternity). There are four doors to the property - the front door, a sliding door accessible from a rear patio, and a pair of sliders off the deck. Inside, there are two stairwells connecting the floors. The victims were all extremely attractive.-Two of the young women who were later killed had been out clubbing that night.
College kids can be pretty insular with their friends, not welcoming to "outsiders" from their crew. (I know, I was one, and was a fraternity member.) Outsiders might even be mocked. Long ago, Ted Bundy set up residence in a Florida college town very close to the University. He hung out at the college and frequented college hangouts. One night he went to a disco, Sherrods, and actually danced with a few girls. One was heard to say along the lines of , "I think I just danced with an ex convict." -Several Chi-O (Women's sorority) women were at Sherrods that night. Late that night Ted Bundy snuck into the nearby Chi-O house, entered girl's rooms and bludgeoned two to death, and injured others. None of the others at the sorority house (in their rooms on the second floor, as were the victims) heard anything. One, who was returning home saw Bundy run out of the house. Every monk in Thai temple defrocked after testing positive for meth
A Buddhist temple in central Thailand has been left without monks after all of its holy men failed drug tests and were defrocked, a local official said Tuesday. Four monks, including an abbot, at a temple in Phetchabun province's Bung Sam Phan district tested positive for methamphetamine on Monday, district official Boonlert Thintapthai told AFP. The monks have been sent to a health clinic to undergo drug rehabilitation, the official said. "The temple is now empty of monks and nearby villagers are concerned they cannot do any merit-making," he said. Merit-making involves worshippers donating food to monks as a good deed. Using a knife to kill is personal. Killing four people with a knife is risky. It also indicates rage.
With the internet, you can also read how to kill quickly and stealthily with a knife. You don't need to be a pro. Stabbing someone a certain way can keep them from making noise. Several of the vics apparently had defensive wounds. Passed out after drinking or even deep sleeping after alcohol use has the effect of decreasing your awareness/alertness and potentially reducing sensation related to any wounds. If they were wounded in the heart or aortic arteries they would be debilitated and bleed out pretty quickly. Pure speculation, but it looks like someone planned and at least did some cursory research. The victims were in a very compromised position. RIP. Find the killer and light them on fire.
Posted by: RM at November 30, 2022 12:41 PM (0eYOS) Bundy has been "given credit" for some murders he may not have committed. Law enforcement agencies are often quick to close cases based on the fact they know there are too many of these killers out there to focus on cases that won't be solved. Teevee and movies give the impression of dogged cops, not quitting until the case is solved, but mostly cops just solve the ones that are obvious. It's been a while since I've been to Cozumel. I want to say it was about 17 years ago right before they had a big hurricane that destroyed a lot. One thing I noticed was a lot of the shops and restaurants were single story with either balconies along the perimeter or paved roofs. And on top of all of them were armed guards, military maybe? pacing back and forth. It seemed like an armed guard for every dozen pasty white tourist. I've never been to a high security prison before but that's what it felt like. Otherwise it was enjoyable. I mostly hung out at the beach with a consistent moderate level buzz. This was before I was a dad, just my wife and me.

Zombie Ted Bundy
- Actor Clint Walker was a zombie. In May 1971, Walker narrowly escaped death in a skiing accident at Mammoth Mountain, California. While following the contours of the twisting, irregular terrain Walker began tumbling out of control before coming to an abrupt, violent stop in which he was pierced through the heart with a ski pole. He was taken to a hospital and pronounced dead. However, a doctor detected faint signs of life and rushed Walker to surgery, where his damaged heart was repaired. Within two months, Walker was working again.[19][20] Walker has said about the accident that he had a near-death experience. 1. Think Ted Bundy when he killed those 4 sorority girls in FL. Completely at random. or 2. Cozumel gunned up? Wasn't that way when I was there, but that was the 90s.
For diving and gunz, nothing could beat Pulau Sipadan, off northern Borneo, where to sort of maintain their weak and hopeless claims to the place, Indonesia would send naval patrol craft to circle the island (just a tiny point of a coral pinnacle in deep water) on a daily basis. Malaysia - actual owner of the island - would reciprocate, with their patrol craft circling once a day. All was peaceful, just symbolic stuff. And the distinct small shockwave of the coastal dynamite fishing 5 miles away that you felt while in the water was just a color element. Posted by: rhomboid at November 30, 2022 12:58 PM (OTzUX) 408
"Can heartily reco Japan during the holidays...
And - no knife murders. And no street crime, really." Actually knife murders are about all they have. When I was there about 15 years back, some rando grabbed a knife off a shelf at a department store and stabbed a bunch of people. They kept all the knives at the customer service desk for a while after that. And sure, no street crime... as long as you don't count people stealing your umbrella or bicycle. But yeah, Japan's a nice place. I'd like to go back and visit sometime. Posted by: FeatherBlade at November 30, 2022 12:58 PM (5M1qh) 409

"With the internet, you can also read how to kill quickly and stealthily with a knife.

Police say it was a 'brutal' piece of hardware used to kill them and they felt no pain. We don't know the details of each body, so there's a chance the killer wacked them in the throat or dealt such a killing blow, there wasn't much noise involved with each kill.

At first I assumed one of the victims is related to someone really rich or with a lot of pull but we'd know that already if that was the case. I think it's just something they know will get lots of clicks if they heavily cover it (and they are). Like Casey Anthony or the girl who disappeared in Aruba way back in the day. The media used to do this a lot because it's guaranteed income. It largely seemed to vanish when Tronald Drumpf appeared on the scene and everything became political 24/7.

Boeing's way was to tell us that we were a warm body and if at any time we were laid off, run over by a bus, or mauled to death by a pterodactyl then they would place another warm body there who would open the folder and start. 447 I know we would all like to think the Moscow cops, the Idaho State Police and the FBI are good at their jobs and will find the killer but the more realist outcome will be, he is never found. Or it will be years down the road after he's caught in the act of another murder or crime.
Posted by: lowandslow at November 30, 2022 01:02 PM (76Foq) well cops talk about the first 48 hours - if you don't have a perp identified (even though not proven) in the first 48 hours, it gets an order of magnitude harder to figure out who it was. It means no witnesses, no obvious clues. Many times investigators have to wait on a lucky break, like the perp getting drunk and bragging about what he did to someone. 475 My God I stopped paying attention to Sundance sometime in early 2017. Was an interesting read before that but then very quickly seemed several turnips short of a truck.
Posted by: ... -------------------------- I read his stuff occasionally as when Ace or someone else highlights it. Unfortunately, guys always give a pretty girl a pass on evaluation. I find it very plausible that Harmeet is an incompetent attorney and has a conflict of interest in being paid by the RNC to do lawyering and then voting as a RNC assembly representative on whether Ronna should stay or go. That same sort of insider crap destroyed the NRA's effectiveness. Outsiders like the Bloomberg group or AG James hate the NRA but it turns out their description of its leaders and board as self dealing pieces of shit grabbing every donor and member bucks that they could grab was also true. It is said, bless our adversaries because they reveal our own faults. In this case, I find it thoroughly believable that an incompetent nepotism hire as GOP chief would seek out similar mediocrities to band together to keep the grift going. Same as the Senate GOP caucus voting by a large margin for McConnell. Posted by: whig at November 30, 2022 01:12 PM (bDjBG) 515
Sundance/CTH is a weird case. He did some solid sleuthing/had surprisingly good sources on some of the early Keystone Coup stuff (DOJ, etc). He correctly highlighted the massive, key, yet generally ignored NSA database abuse ("702 queries", may be remembering this slightly wrong). Lee Smith, a more connected/conventional sort who is a serious guy when it comes to the lawless rampage of national institutions to block/hamstring Trump, has praised his work, which I found interesting.
He actually did a decent job tracking some of the trade policy stuff. The style and general rah-rah tone will put off many. The Harmeet Dhillon stuff to me is interesting mostly because How TF do you put her and the slimy repugnant Barbour the Youngers on the same panel? LOL. The police recruits rundown story is dead dead dead and even though they know who the perpetrator is he's still foot loose and fancy free.
---- The other day I heard from someone who's not at all generally sympathetic to people who go after cops (and even has an "I appreciate the cops" sign in his front yard), and who's actually in a position where he might hear useful information about this specific incident, that there's a good chance that it was an accident. ~ When I heard the story, I immediately thought of heart attack or other impairment to driver caused by clot shot. Someone who can methodically kill multiple people, with a blade of some sort, has to be a psychopath. They would have to be determined. It takes time for people to quietly bleed to death. Highly likely they have killed before and will again if not caught.

Reminds me of the Rollings murders in Gainesville FL in 1990. Victims were random. No connection to killer, who was a hobo living in the woods. Got access to student apartments via sliding glass doors (which I heard the Idaho house had too? They are a big security risk). No witnesses. Took the police months to find the guy, thankfully the killings stopped because he was arrested on an unrelated charge-- when they finally tracked him down he was already in jail. But for a while the cops ruined the life of some random UF student by naming him a suspect. I think they only caught the guy after a tip from some relative of his back in Louisiana.
