Supply chain isn't going to improve any time soon. Especially with so many idiots roaming the streets. I was trying to get quotes for new windows. Before, they were beating down the doors trying to give me quotes. Now, they don't want anything to do with custom windows, and say "maybe" 6-8 months if I'm lucky. Apparently only 2 places in the USA make glass, and they're years behind. Awesome. But, I'll probably be looking for plywood instead of glass soon enough.

12 Stupid Texas Parks & Wildlife. Asked them on Facebook about why muzzleloader season was at the ass end of deer season. They said it was to extend deer season. I get that, but why at the ass end of general rifle season?

Most states do Archery, Muzzle Loader, then general rifle season in that order due to equipment limitations.

That's like extending dove season by a week, but only allowing Improved Cylinder shotguns that last week. You ain't hitting late season dove with an IC shotgun and you ain't getting near late season skittish deer with a smoke pole. I can slap a deer across the pasture at 500 yds with a .308. I'm not getting near a 500 yd deer with a muzzleloader.

Talked with a friend up in New Smyrna and they are getting hammered with wind and high surf. A lot of those big condos you see along the beach are being evacuated.

Pedersoli are really good but $$$. Good luck getting near some custom made rifles. They are backlogged.

I moved to AZ from NM, after a 3.5 year layover in NC (first job out of college). I came here to get away from that Dem bastion, which has gone even more blue since I moved away in the 90s.

One of my cousins and his wife moved from CA to AZ a few years back. They are reliably conservative and were happy to get away from there to start their family.

I am thankful for all the conservative refugees who, like me, don't want to move cross country and can help keep this state red.

Beginner ML would be a Traditions or CVA, or even some inline models that use a 209 shotgun primer and look like a bolt action rifle. You can get those brand new for $300 or so.

Years and years ago husband and I went to the Del Mar racetrack and saw War Emblem. His trainer was just walking him around a paddock or whatever they're called, getting him some exercise. Every time he passed by the people standing at the fence he stopped and posed. It was hilarious.

We took Diana and Rosalind to their first training class today. It's an opportunity for them to see other dogs, walk on a leash, become accustomed to being put in a show stack and be examined by a stranger.

The girls did very, very well. They were curious, accepting of having their feet placed, stood still while they were gone over and started to learn how to move alongside Her Majesty. A successful experience.

This blows my mind. This area is NOT soft toward Democrats, and for this race to be this close, even if she pulls it off, is truly a mark of how the steal works. A state like this, they can cull votes from wherever they want, putting mail-in ballots in the boxes, for every stiff in a nursing home, or whatever else they do.

There's no way Boebert comes even close to losing, if the only people voting are sentient adults who show up on election day.

I'm going to explain it in detail on the next podcast.

Also looking like this was a good election for us, with some missed opportunities. But a lot of things are being missed such as massive school board wins, Ohio supreme court wins, etc.

Need to see how AZ and NV turn out first, but next week we could be looking back and wondering why we were freaking out.

Nope, AK has a jungle primary with the four that finished with the most votes going on to the general election regardless of party. Then add ranked order voting on top of that shit. So take Washington's and California's vote system and add ranked order voting to it. Designed to win for leftists. Murkowski pushed it to fend off a challenge and got that idea from Maine where it was used to deprive a GOP candidate from a House seat despite getting a plurality of the votes.

234 One thing, be aware that muzzle loaders come in two flavors--the older style with the accenuated stock drop and the new modern style with a straight stock. The older style derived from flintlocks which had a spitting primer pan full of lit blackpowder. You cannot shoot those with the modern technique of head down so the stock is designed for a person to be almost vertical and the head is erect and up rather than leaning into the sights and has to be shouldered a bit differently than modern rifle stocks. English stalking shotguns have a similar drop and are shot similarly. A lot of replica percussion types and even old antique centerfire of the 19th century followed that pattern which is ok in pistol cartridges but ouchie in high powered centerfire rifles.

The new ones are easier to shoot if allowed and handle recoil and modern sights better and are basically handled similarly to centerfire rifles.

If your state is 209 legal, consider a TC Encore pistol frame. A little pricier than entry MLs, but with that you can go with a ML set up, shotgun, rifle, or pistol, in a virtually unlimited number of calibers.

241 Dear me. Our family lived next door to a family with 12 kids (10 boys, 2 girls) when I was growing up. 15 years ago, one of the girls died of brain cancer. Kept in shape, was a non-smoker. One of the boys died in his late 50's of Wuflu - no comorbiditie. Another of the boys just died of a heart attack.

Their parents both lived into their 90's. Dad chewed tobacco and drank boatloads of beer. Mom was a chain smoker. They didn't exercise, didn't eat healthy and they went on forever. 3 of their kids didn't make it out of their 50's. I guess there's a limit to relying on "good genes," but there's also a limit to thinking healthy living is going to extend your life.

McConnell and his Chamber of Commerce Ilk want Trump and all things MAGA gone. They get their buddies to find DeSantis war chest (see his election filings) for who's who.

McConnell keeps quiet as Trump runs around doing the legs work. Mitch either pulls the funds or outright funds the other party.

MAGA loses on Tuesday. Trump gets the blame and the media go into overdrive calling for DeSantis to be crowned the successor. Why just look at his massive victory in Miami Dade.

It's at that moment we find out who the real DeSantis is. And I hope I'm wrong about it. But I'm worried he's the next Bush Jr.

DeSantis's victory over Crist is the best margin of victory the Republicans have had.

So - and this is where I was yesterday night - I know we've done a lot to clean up Florida's votes. And what I saw at the local precinct level and local US House Race matched up very well with the last polls reported nationwide in terms of voter, well, everything. Pinellas County is the most densely populated county in the state, very urban, and also pretty purple. Luna was polling in a slight point or two lead, and ended up winning by 8.

It's at that moment we find out who the real DeSantis is. And I hope I'm wrong about it. But I'm worried he's the next Bush Jr.

Good. Easier to shoot if you don't get the flintlock version. Ok for percussion use with shooting glasses always.

The old style stocks led also to flinching just like Matchlocks if you tried a modern stock on them. A fire right in front of you tends to take the concentration off the sights if you are close to it--plus the spitting etc from the primer pan might give you a coal miner's tattoo.

DeathSanta has said in the past he has "no plans" to challenge Trump in 2024. More recently, he won't commit to not challenging Trump in 2024. Take it with a grain of salt - divide and conquer.

He took their money and he listened to cretins like Paul Ryan, and other NT'ers in private meetings. DeSantis strikes me like Nixon, he is a very calculating politician which can be a good thing but also bad. Trump, for whatever his bluster, is authentic for good or ill. Other GOPers like DeSantis, Youngkin, Noem, even Abbott, etc. are disciplined, careful with words, but come off as calculating and derivative and they often triangulate or use stunts as opposed to policy changes. We will have to wait and see what is favorable to the voters in two years or so after Biden lurches into even more policy disasters and more woe on working people.

They aren't simultaneous, Harris vacated her seat in 2021 and an unelected appointee has been senator until this election. The special election is to fill that seat until January which is the remaining amount of Harris's term. In January the new 6 year term starts, which is what the regular election was for.

Not many. Most of them were there for opposing him anyway or being viewed as some threat to the regime. The CP functionaries might have believed that Stalin did not know but most of them in work camps were not functionaries.

It was a difficult job physically and mentally, but we accomplished everything we needed to and got along fine. I'm really grateful for his help and that we have a good relationship. And thanks for praying for my mom & aunt today. My aunt died early this afternoon. My mom didn't get to go see her, but my cousins were all with her. My mom is doing ok.

Florida did nothing too special or outstanding. Florida cleaned up its election laws to prevent the sort of shenanigans that made 2000 so memorable. Gee, amazing what legislation to prevent fraud and abuse does to get an honest election that reflects the will of the people. It also helped this year that DeSantis and the Florida state assembly Republicans delivered on what they pledged, and DeSantis stood tall in the face of Wuhan Flu threats from the People's Democratic White House. Amazing isn't it how LEADERSHIP gets rewarded by the voters. (That and the Democrats completely losing it over the "no teach sex ed to kids" act. Not unfair, writing that one day after the election when the PA GoPe had a poor showing indicates little thought to what might have caused dysfunction in the Pa GoPe or candidates. It is speculative in nature. For example, the fact that the eastern snobs of the GOP Mainline did not like Mastriano and had the RGA cut him off from funding. The fact that Oz received little support from the PA GOP and so on. Why was the polling bad in this state, who got it right or wrong.

Blaming it on Trump without mathematical analysis showing voters heard it, processed it, etc. is ridiculous. Even more so since the Pa Dems had massive absentee ballot drops from as early as September where whatever Trump said last Saturday could NOT have affected Election Day voting. Plus, how many votes did Trump gain for his party by showing up.

Most election coverage by reporters, and Saleno is one of the better ones btw, is abysmal and reflects interest in focusing on good guys and bad guys rather than dry analytics or narratives.

Yes, it is really funny how after so many elections that Ohio and Florida get their election results in early, have little indication of fraud, and people can go to sleep. All that is lacking in other states is willpower to take on the corporations doing boycotts (tell them to take a flying leap and take away their tax breaks), the GOPe types that want to be able to do fraud in primaries, and the ones afraid of being called racists.

Not to keep beating my home state drum, but Ohio fixed that early voting drop box trick. This year, as ordered by the Ohio Secretary of State, ALL mail in ballots were sent to Columbus for processing, NOT to the local county offices. The ballots were there processed under the watchful eye of officials to prevent shenanigans. That's how it's done, that's how it should be done everywhere.

I am sure the Lake campaign can more than enough election law violations at this point that if she becomes governor means that their careers in election board offices is over, and some could face criminal violations - hanging on to ballots and not counting them just improves the odds that they will be made to suffer. Hell yes, good on you Cicero. If you can dig up a copy, read How to Take Back your Government by Robert A Heinlein. He was a political organizer for a time in California and he has some nuggets of wisdom even for today. (same famous sci fi writer btw). Use your list of supporters to basically create a political club such as the XYZ Civil Coalition for Education and then use his ideas as modified for the social media and cell phone era. Creating a semi permanent organization of like minded folks gives you the network that the rich slug inherited with money.
