She believes that there is no real mystery to it: While Trump successfully portrayed himself as a populist achieving hard-won economic growth--signing tax cuts into law, touting a record-shattering stock market, boasting the lowest Hispanic unemployment rate in history--Democrats came across as a bunch of out-of-touch idealogues. Promises of shared social progress, she told me, offend the sensibilities of many first- and second-generation immigrants who hate the idea of government handouts. "We're not a political party, we're a charity. And you know what? These people don't want charity," López said. "These immigrants come here to make money and keep their families safe. They are not here because the sea levels are rising, or because of social justice, or anything else. We're out there talking about racism and the Green New Deal and defunding the police, and we're freaking them out.Axios reports that DeSantis -- or is it DeSanctimonious all of a sudden? -- is beating Crist with Hispanics.
A recent bilingual survey of 625 likely Hispanic voters by Telemundo/LX News showed DeSantis leads Crist 51% to 44% and that 56% of respondents approve of the job the governor is doing.He lost Hispanics by 10 points in 2018. Axios reckons that the shift in Hispanic political identification is due to... misinformation, of course.
Between the lines: Many Florida Latinos, particularly Cuban American and Venezuelan Americans, have long skewed Republican. But political misinformation, the linking of Democrats to socialist policies and heavy investments in Latino voters by the GOP helped Trump make inroads in 2020 with Latinos in other parts of the U.S., political analysts say.
Stacy Abrams has a similar explanation. She's only getting 82% of the black vote, which is very low for a Democrat, and a black Democrat to boot. On Saturday, Abrams said that Black men have greatly increased their voter participation rates between 2018 and now, but, "I do not believe it's because of a deep well of enthusiasm for my opponent."

IIRC the initial racial break down of voters in the 2020 election that the NYT was running showed Trump getting something like 15% of black voters - IIRC it was like 30% of men and 2% of women.

TJM, to build a policy majority, you have to do like the GOP did in 1994 or the Dems did in 2006. Actual force votes on meaningful bills to address problems and the power of the purse grants the GOP a lot of power during standoffs to do that. Plus, I would keep the covid era remote voting for the House so they are free to keep in touch with their constituencies. Nothing in the Constitution says they have to meet in DC and both the Senate and the House would probably improve if they weren't in DC for most of their lives.

If you had ever done any campaigning for a candidate by knocking on doors or buttonholing them at the polls, one of the most important things to do is a) show up, b) listen to their concerns, c) show you understand them, d) treat them fairly.
Common people, aside from overeducated idiots, are far more savvy than pols and their idiot college educated staff can imagine.
The GOP doesn't show up too often in the first place figuring as Mitt did that they won't vote for him anyway so why do it which makes the rest of my advice useless but the key is to follow the golden rule. Strom won year after year even after desegregation because he gave blacks in SC a fair shake in his office, black schools got their fair share of tax grants and so on.

EV is a straight extrapolation of party id of early voter = their voting choices. In wave years, ticketsplitting predominately benefits the out party as does independent voters.
To do a deep dive, you have to have voter history files indicating the propensity to vote and what vote is left out there for day of election assuming absentee votes (unlike Covid fraud 2020) is a representative sample following past distributions.
