You should be racking some tits and balls for those other abominations. Ghostbusters 2 has its moments, though lacks the magic of the original. Ghostbusters Afterlife - the movie from last year - is genuinely good. Almost a textbook on how to make a sequel to a much-loved movie nearly 40 years later. Not perfect, but worth a watch. As for the 2016 aberrance, I've only seen parts of it. It's crap. Posted by: Pixy Misa at October 30, 2022 04:30 AM (BLOW1) Posted by: olddog in mo at October 30, 2022 04:30 AM (ju2Fy) 22

Daily Mail has an interesting shot of Vajayjay Dentata here with Space Daddy. Space Daddy walked into Twitter HQ, to take operational control, and Vajayjay is seen here, glaring at Space Daddy: https://tinyurl.com/2yxgqhdt Space Daddy is going to "fire them for cause", to avoid paying out the Golden Parachute clauses. I figured Space Daddy was hard at work on how to avoid that shit. Anyway, after that photo of Vajayjay glaring at his, I have it on good authority that Space Daddy said to his No. 1 minion, "The censorship bitch, bathe her, and bring her to me." They did, cleaned her up, slathered her with Lume(tm) and brought her to Space Daddy, nekkid. Space Daddy looking at her, said, "Nah, bro, never in million. Get her out of here!". I just checked Twitter's stock price vs Elon's purchase price --
Basically, he's at par right now. So far so good. Posted by: GnuBreed at October 30, 2022 04:20 AM (JOtiF) The stock stopped trading Friday morning. Basically as it became 100% certain he was buying everyone started buying the stock, up to right below the sale price, so they can make a bit of money on it (or even just to say they owned Twitter/got paid by Elon) the price being where it is only has to do with the fact that's where he was buying it at. Now if you got in less then a few weeks ago you could have made a nice return, as at the start of Oct the stock was 20% below where it is now. That's why rich people get richer, I could have purchased like $1,000 of stock and made $200 (minute the government's huge cut) meanwhile billionaire could have purchased a hundred million in stock and made $20 million. Posted by: Rbastid at October 30, 2022 04:42 AM (WRwvA) 30
Yep, Space Daddy is firing the big shots "for cause", which invalidates their Golden parachutes. They can sue Space Daddy. But he ain't gonna pay 'em voluntarily. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (Mzdiz) at October 30, 2022 04:42 AM (Mzdiz) 31

We will never have another straight clean election in this country until the big tech companies are brought to heel. The modern media coordination is only possible because of the social media fostering of collusive censoring allowing people to be snowed and immunized from feedback.
Also, "journalists" get their inspiration, discovery and "facts" all from Twitter. If the only place you mine is a steaming pile of manure, you aren't panning for gold. Furthermore, many of these writers are compensated based on raw bulk of "articles" and clicks. So the recipe is look at what is trending (or is allowed to trend), sample a few tweets, a few friends, go the extra mile and grab a fact from censured wikipedia, make sure it comports with the DNC talking points list, then slap together an emotional screed making vague references to other articles upholding The Narrative™ Posted by: Reuben Hick at October 30, 2022 07:29 AM (3hSHB) 209

Are you talking about Fetterman or Oz? Pray for the outcome-that the fraud be overcome. Also, if there is cheating Oz does not seem like a person who would stand for that. He would protest if he felt he was being defrauded.
So cheating is on the table as long as only the D's get to do it. Everyone here has made two statements: * Fetterman is a disaster * DNC cheating will take place, no possible way for a clean election. Given that is the reality and the rules, may Oz outcheat the competition since voting no longer matters, and the results of having a Fetterman in office are consequential. Teenagers are watching videos by idiots on social media and diagnosing themselves with rare and bizarre forms of mental illness, leading to inappropriate and even dangerous treatments when doctors are not aware of this social contagion. (The New York Times) At least part of this is teenagers trying to get better and stronger drugs to get fucked up on. We had friends whose teen got involved with drugs and used threats of suicide to get themselves committed. They'd stay over night at a facility, get the drugs and disappear to sell/take the drugs. Then come back, rinse, repeat. Our friends told us this was a common thing apparently and were full of despair. Weirdly and thankfully, that story had a happy ending as the kid apparently got tired of being a poverty-stricken street rat, cleaned up, and now is perfectly fine. working hard, and building a good life. None of which should be solar/wind unless its private use disconnected from the mains. In the book "Barbarians to Bureaucrats" which roughly explains how agile start-ups over time turn into sclerotic entities there is an entry on Aristocrats where the people in the upper levels (C-suite, BoD) believe that they are entitled to the position and are masters of the universe. there should be, in fact as recently as the 1980's we did. As you say, there used to a lot of small refineries across the country; and then the regulatory environment made it impossible to keep most of those in business, so they were shut down. but they're not sitting around waiting to be turned on, most of them were scrapped.
And it isn't like the talent required to operate those things are living next door watching cartoons on TV waiting for the phone to ring so they can grab their lunchbox and resume their stations. Posted by: Reuben Hick at October 30, 2022 08:03 AM (3hSHB) 288
There's a big problem with the 'Stock Grant" story that the UK paper is running - simply put, there is no more Twitter stock. It was delisted and all stock taken over when Musk bought out the company. There is no longer stock to give out to any employees as compensation.
that never occurred to the journos pushing that story. Posted by: Tom Servo at October 30, 2022 08:04 AM (r46W7) 289
Former NFL star Chad Johnson is leading by example.
With A-list celebrities under fire recently for their treatment of restaurant staff, Johnson left a Tennessee restaurant with an unforgettable tip. The 44-year-old dined at an IHOP near the University of Tennessee ahead of the Kentucky-Tennessee football game on Saturday night, where his bill totaled $14 for his meal. The former Cincinnatti Bengal said he’d never been to the area before and left the staff with $1,000, a tip of 7,100 percent. “It’s just something I always do, regardless of where I am, regardless of what restaurant or the service, I always take care of those who are serving me,” Johnson Seems he does this a lot. He noted that the alleged attacker, David DePape, 42, shouted the same line, "Where's Nancy?" as the supporters of Donald Trump, who stormed the US Capitol on Jan. 6, 2021. "And what makes us think that one party can talk about stolen elections?" said Biden.
"This heinous assault is yet another example of the dangerous consequences of the divisive and hateful rhetoric that is putting lives at risk and undermining our very democracy and democratic institutions," said California Gov. DePape lived with a notorious local nudist in a Berkeley home, complete with a Black Lives Matter sign in the window and an LGBT rainbow flag, emblazoned with a marijuana symbol, hanging from a tree. A closer look reveals the characteristics of a homeless encampment, or what Europeans call "an open drug scene." In the driveway, there is a broken-down camper van. On the street is a yellow school bus, which neighbors said DePape occasionally stayed in. Both are filled with garbage typical of such structures in homeless encampments. People come and go from the house and the vehicles, neighbors say, in part to partake in the use of a potent psychedelic drug, ibogaine.

When I think of possible consequences that I would like to see dished out to the Pelosi's for their lives, I think "Beaten by a Hammer" scores even higher than "losing the next election".

The FBI swoops in, takes hammer guy into custody as a J6 insurrectionist, and whisks him away to the gulag. See, he was a Trumper, and we can't talk about an ongoing investigation and no you can't see the 302s.

Morning.
Ghostbusters 2 is loads better than Ghostbusters: Afterlife. Afterlife was just an extended knock-off with a Mary Sue main character. Ghostbusters 2, for all its flaws, had Viggo The Carpathian and Peter MacNichol. Posted by: Robert at October 30, 2022 09:52 AM (1Yy3c) 464

Ghostbusters 2 is vastly better than 'Afterlife'.
Ghostbusters 2 is, at least, an original story. Afterlife is an attempt to cram nostalgia into a mediocre plot with a bunch of characters nobody cares about. Posted by: stv at October 30, 2022 02:18 PM (4XXn2) 470

Thank heaven I'm not the only one to notice this. _Afterlife_ was the _The Force Awakens_ of the Ghostbusters franchise: nothing but visual references to the first movie, and aimed squarely at soccer moms and their kids. Posted by: Daniel Ream at October 30, 2022 03:50 PM (TMX68) 471
