NY Post's Twitter Feed Hacked

Alec Sears
@alec_sears

Looks like someone got access to the New York Post website backend and is changing headlines and then republishing the stories on social media automatically

Some of these are funny. Almost all of them are Not Safe for Work.

They're also Not Safe for the Blog. That's why I'm linking the account that's posting them, not posting the actual hacked headlines themselves. Some are racist, some threaten violence.

Please don't repeat the headlines. You can allude to them -- "the one about AOC" -- but don't actually repeat them.

Hacked headlines here.

This post won't be up at the top for long.

My favorite blog moment on my old site was when the left was all claiming Bush banned evolution books in the Grand Canyon visitor's center. It was run as actual news, that he did it for real.

So I spent a few bucks and did the massively difficult and excessive due diligence of... actually calling the visitor's center to find out. They were very helpful and grateful BECAUSE NO ONE ELSE HAD EVEN BOTHERED TO CALL AND FIND OUT.

Doonsbury ran several comics about it, pushing the stupid lie.

In the early years he let his 'bad' characters take over the strip when they became popular - BD the football / army dude and his girl, and Duke and shoulder aside his more boring main characters. Later he pretty much eliminated characters and just had buildings talking for all the panels and there became no interest after that.

Print newspapers are dead as is most of their readership now. You have to be of a certain age to view newspapers as a source for news and amusements. Nowadays, online is the rule and the huge variety of comics means that no one will gain that kind of mass audience any time soon.

I personally think if Zuckerberg was actually intelligent rather than lucky--he would remake Fakebook into allowing space for diverse online newspapers instead.

Yes. It is a pretty nihilistic series. Authors may disagree based on Moorcock's writing style which is well done but his content and characters cannot be called 'good'. His protagonist Elric comes the closest but succumbs to ennui and evil as he is destined to do. An lesser known horrid series was Roger's Zorachus where the characters are even more depraved than Moorcock's. Gor is another particularly unpleasant series unless you like domination and submission crap.

The best that PayPal can say, if sued, is their rule was meant to extract an arbitrary fine from customers for doing something that they felt brought disrepute to their organization, and that they warned them about that cost upfront - and the worse? That they told all their paying customers in tiny fine print that they'll have to pay an arbitrary fee to exercise their Constitutional rights if they want to use PayPal's services. Aristotle has a pretty good basis for his philosophical musings about Government based on Grecian city state politics. It is very hard work and very difficult to rebuild a fallen republic--it has been done here and there but usually via a very nasty civil war that kills enough people to produce peace for a very long time or you have a tyrant/despot/dictator take over and they crush the existing ruling elites with support of the general population to end oppression. We are something of a hybrid but closer to democracy now than a republic because of virtually unlimited franchise. So, democracies in Aristotle's eyes either decay into a oligarchy/aristocracy which we have appeared to become or fall to a despot/tyrant single ruler. Oligarchies if they restrain their appetites can be quite stable but most fall prey to being rapacious and evil. Tyrants can too but easier to please one than many hungry mouths.

What small business will risk having $2500 simply grabbed from its accounts due to something sold, some statement by an individual, etc. The position that PayPal is taking means seizing the money first and then requiring the aggrieved to pray to PayPal for their money back.

But I suspect that the perpetrator thought that it would fool some people, or at a minimum, get some people to think yeah, I could see that. They only live in their own little bubble and so have these warped ideas and caricatures of what conservatives think and do, from the likes of that bitchy lesbian, Keith Olberman. Not only did Jussie Smollett think that Trump voters would yell "this is MAGA country" while placing a noose around a black man in the middle of a Chicago winter night, but all of the fawning media believed it as well. To all normal people, it was immediately obvious that it was a fraud, because it's not what Trump voters would do.
