The Morning Report — 10/27/22

hispanickingflor.jpg

Good morning kids. Thursday and so many things make you laugh so hard until you cry. Dig this headline:

Democrat Senator Bob Menendez Under Federal Criminal Investigation Again: Report

I mean, really? This is news? This is the equivalent of reporting the sun rises in the east. The crooked slob has been in Congress for nearly 30 years and has been under "investigation" nearly as long. About the only time the "investigators" took a break from their "investigation" was Christmas and when Menendez was booked in first class on the Epstein/Clinton Lolita Express. In other words, not counting coffee breaks, the actual time they spent investigating him has been about an hour and 42 minutes. You'll be relieved, if not completely not surprised, to learn they not only have not found any evidence of wrongdoing, but will continue to not have found any evidence of wrongdoing until their next 364.9-day coffee break ends, which will likely coincide with a repeat of this headline this time next year.

Moving right along to another thigh-slapper (pun intended), with Herschel Walker having shaken off the unsurprising October Surprise allegations against him and finally opening a lead against his opponent, Ebenezer Baptist Scrooge Wife-Beater Warnock, out comes Gloria "Retread" Allred, probably from the same sewer line in Atlanta that flooded out voting centers in six different states in 2020, with the smoking gun! Seriously, does this filthy, ambulance-chasing shyster slag really think yet another identical story about yet another woman that Walker allegedly impregnated and induced to have an abortion is going to make any kind of difference? It would be laughable if some heretofore unknown Harry Fabian came forward with the allegation. But Allred? ROFLMAO. Go shove Lisa Bloom back between your poisonous, leathery piss-flaps and peddle it somewhere else, toots. I think with this un-cunning stunt, this un-stunning cvnt's days may be finally over. Please God.

There's other laughable madness, like the so-called "Hispanic Caucus" rejecting Mayra Flores, a Congresswoman who was born in Mexico, for membership because her "extreme MAGA values and their attacks on Latinos and our nation’s democracy on January 6 do not align with CHC values." Oh, really? So it's about "values?" I thought these groups were based solely on ethnicity, race or other demographic and/or biological/psychological characteristic. I'm being sarcastic, of course. The only way you get in is if you are a Democrat. Their own words expose not only their hypocrisy but the lie of who and what they and their party are and stand for. Don't fret, Mayra. Consider being rejected from that group a lucky break and a badge of honor. Besides, American Latinos are now abandoning the Democrats in almost the same proportion as those flooding in illegally from south of the now non-existent border. So much so that you are now being put in the column labeled with the Jive Kampf equivalent of untermenschen along with evil white people.

Then there's both Tim Robbins and Jon Stewart suddenly sounding rationale. Call me skeptical, but it is laughable in the extreme that now they take these positions.

And so here we are. With the midterms now 12 days out, Kurt Schlichter is feeling his oats:

Students of military history understand that the real bloodletting starts when the losing side breaks ranks after its formations disintegrate and the cavalry sweeps in to mow down the fleeing survivors. It’s every man for himself, and the best the defeated individuals who were once part of cohesive units can hope for is not to end up one of the bodies left strewn across the battlefield. This is when the victor runs up the score. This is when the vast majority of casualties happen. This is a rout. And that’s pretty much where the Democrats are headed on November 8th, figuratively of course. . .

. . . The traditional sign of a rout is when the losing party turns on itself and its platform. You see pols criticize the members of their party in power and even tell voters they will not go along with its treasured policies. We see inklings of this in how most Democrats will not allow the Biden n’ Kamala circus to stop in their towns. It’s remarkable how all these candidates discover something really important to do when their prezzy shows up in their state besides be seen with him. One rare exception was when Fetterman/Fetterman’s Wife/Fetterman’s Lump allowed itself to be photographed with the crusty president. In typical Biden fashion, he helpfully told the world that he thought Fetterman’s wife would make a great addition to the Senate. Rumor has it that Fetterman’s Lump was so insulted by the slight that it will be voting for Dr. Oz. . .

. . . Democrat ideology has become a pagan religion where it was once merely a way to get power. Most candidates cannot back off from the stupidest Democrat policy planks even at the cost of their electoral lives. They cannot demand more drilling to get gas and oil prices down because that is heresy toward the angry weather goddess. They cannot support cops because that’s racist. They cannot come out against perverts in woman’s faces waving their junk in toddlers’ faces at “family friendly drag shows” because pedo-shaming is a no-go for libs. They are locked into insanity.

They cannot run. They cannot hide. They must figuratively die with their Birkenstocks on.

Cool.

It's quintessential, schaden-bonery Schlichter and it's as uplifting as Dave in FL's poll prognostication. But as I yet again alluded to with CBD and Misanthropic Humanitarian on the latest episode of the podcast, what will it really mean going forward? Not just in terms of at least slamming on the brakes for the next two years but in the long haul?

Please understand that it is absolutely crucial to go vote and retrieve Congress from the maniacs. But, as I have stated, what good is it to win elections if the Left controls the real government – the Bureaucracy, the media and most crucially academia? If elections really mattered, insofar as long term changing course, you would not have openly anti-American Maoists in control of the Democrat Party and running for office, as well as perhaps more crucially, a GOP that actually had been opposing them tooth and nail, all along.

Again, I’m not saying don’t vote; we have to halt the insanity at least temporarily. But long term, we have to win absolute power and be as ruthless as necessary in forging a new nation that cannot be so easily undermined from within. Will that be built around the Constitution and Bill of Rights? Who can say. But we have a terminal cancer that is about to go from stage 3 to 4.

Open to all suggestions in finding the cure.

Cool.

My issue with KS here is that he makes the giant and completely naive assumption that winning a midterm election amounts to a victory, and the left will fall apart (as he describes What Happens Next).

This is a mere break in the action. The left will rush around writing "signal to noise" articles, and describe the result as Biden's personal failure, voters got fooled, the Republicans speech must be controlled, etc etc., with the point being, No Change Of Course is required.

The left is so deeply embedded in our institutions and culture that they will shrug off a midterm vote. We have a long way to go before they die with their Birkenstocks still on.

Not only did PredictWise use this highly sensitive location data to monitor millions of Americans’ compliance with Covid lockdown decrees but it also combined this data with follow-up surveys to assign “Covid concern” scores to the people who were being surveilled. PredictWise then used this data to help Democrats in several swing states to target more than 350,000 “Covid concerned” Republicans with Covid-related campaign ads."

Ditto, but an attempt to describe the problem follows:
What we are seeing is a problem with multiculturalism. When we founded this country we started out with a cultural ideal. God (Christianity.) Freedom. Hard Work. A peculiar kind of community. There's more to it, but that is not important for this analysis. When we had immigration in the past what we got were immigrants self selecting to move here that shared our cultural values. So the incoming culture did not dilute the culture already in place, but rather reinforced it. This created an influx of new ideas that was not toxic to the existing culture. What we got that started to develop in the 1910s, 20s and 30s, was the creating or infection of a culture that WAS toxic to that culture. Call it technocracy, communism, eugenics, whatever. Since then, that infection has only grown (and has grown precisely because of the Achilles heel of freedom present in the original culture) and it is absolutely antithetical to the original culture that was in place.

52 So, this is where you have to problems inherent with multiculturalism. If assimilated into a functioning culture, then it is great as it brings more ways of approaching problems and the best of the values from their native cultures. At it's worst you start bringing in stuff toxic or antithetical to your culture. It is a conundrum because you start trying to think of how to solve the problem and you end up in the same spot the puritans were when they left England. On the other hand, you start thinking you are going to have to burn down the building in order to save it.

"Best Men" has always been a bad basis for a system; arguably even Marxism works with "Best Men" running it, so do monarchies. As we have noted a lot, the most successful systems are the ones, as Milton Friedman pointed out, where bad men are incentivized to do Good Things. That's been the genius of our system for most of this countries existence. That and Limited Powers; Bad Men will always end up in positions of power, that's a hard fact of human history, but as long as their powers are very limited they cannot do too much damage.

Connecticut’s governor Ned Lamont and Senator Chris Murphy spent $25.7 million on a project to replace buses with electric buses. Twelve were delivered, and one went ablaze just sitting, parked, engine turned off, and with no one in it. The federal taxpayers fully paid for the project.

According to CT Insider, they received a dozen with ten more on the way, but they’re all pulled from service over the bus going ablaze due to a lithium battery fire. It’s “out of an abundance of caution,” said the spokesperson. Nothing to see here.

Biden also issued an executive order that, as we pointed out on Jan. 29, 2021, was the worst of them all. It gutted the one minor speed bump in front of new regulations, namely that they had to be reviewed by the Office of Management and Budget and pass a basic cost-benefit analysis.

How many D's currently running have had or paid for an abortion? The answer is close to 100%.

80 "Best Men" has always been a bad basis for a system; arguably even Marxism works with "Best Men" running it, so do monarchies.
Posted by: Tom Servo at October 27, 2022 07:55 AM (r46W7)

Peterson has a great rant on this subject:
1. Who are you to think that you will run the system just and fair?
2. You cant even deal with your friends and family. (Marx, Kennedys, Clintons, Bidens, Lenin, et al)
3. And then you get popped in the head by the next person that wants the power.

There's really two kinds of "culture" now... I suppose you could call it "Mass Culture" and "Organic Culture". Mass culture being the Official Party Line disseminated via technology in all its forms, and Organic culture being all the ingrained ways of thinking based on one's family history. It's the phony revolutionary academics who have set national education policy over the last 100 years who have systematically programmed the Mass Culture to be reflexively anti-Liberty and anti-Individual who have done the most damage, and the degree to which this poisonous fake Mass Culture is supplanting and eviscerating Organic Culture is the culprit. Not only are people not listening to their Mamma say "don't do that", Mamma isn't even bothering to say "don't do that" anymore.

99 The Democrats are going to fight any election they lose to a Republican, especially a MAGA aligned one with accusations they're "right wing extremists" and thus should be prohibited from office. That will likely be followed up with litigation to overturn the results or disqualify the winning candidate. If that fails I imagine violence will be in order.

Whatever the case, the November mid-terms won't be complete and winners seated next year until all avenues have been taken by the Democrats and they're defeated.

It will be a long haul for MAGA aligned candidates who have to fight not only the left, but also the GOP. Only then will we see whether any of this matters in the long run.

I expect it won't.

There are brokers that sell used school buses to municipalities, and a couple are pretty big operations. There would be a good follow the money project.

I did a little digging on this, the average price for a diesel school bus is a little over 200k, the price for an electric school bus is around 400k.

So that many buses would cost just under a billon dollars, so the other 4 billion is pay a lot of graft, walking around money and beak dipping.

206 A billion dollars on electric school buses. Okay. It's pointless and counter-productive, but how effective will the policy be?

An electric school bus - per a New Jersey newspaper - is in the absurd range of "$235k to $400k." So let's assume they're a quarter million each to make the math easier. That's four per million and four thousand per billion. So the money spigot will splash around 4,000 electric buses out. Is that a lot?

No, it isn't. Jefferson County, CO - a large suburban county mostly in the Denver metro area - runs more than 400 bus routes, implying between 200-425 buses (depending on equipment doubling for primary/secondary runs, spare buses, etc.). So this new program will replace a laughably tiny number of buses. The districts that receive them will run them as a vanity item while real buses do the real work.

Oh, and per that same article? A real bus costs less than half, at $110k. Even if the electric buses work, there's no way to save enough diesel to make them make sense. #government

I did a little digging on this, the average price for a diesel school bus is a little over 200k, the price for an electric school bus is around 400k.

WTF? A school bus, that carries kids to and from home to school or to baseball and football games and band events with no amenities, is $200K? That's ridiculous.

It was 48-46 in the poll that Joy Reid used last night in Ft Worth and with 95,000 volunteers ready to walk the streets and get people out to vote, that's well within the margins of error.

Back before the 2010s or so diesels were made to run for-bleeping-EVER. They started messing with them and requiring addition of piss (that's not a joke) to save Global Warming or something and they're much less reliable than they were.

If you can find a 70s or 80s Mercedes diesel and can manage the slow speeds, they're fantastic long-lived cars.

Yeah. It wasn't a stable design and the (optional) gasoline-fired heater up front in early models wasn't an idea rooted in safety.

Sadly, the biggest problem with the Corvair was that it allowed Ralph Nader to rise to serious prominence thanks to "Unsafe At Any Speed" (which was an overblown hit piece that exaggerated most of its claims and was used to agitate for lots more government intervention).

296 After the Cold War, the American elite built wealth beyond the dreams of avarice out of the digital economy that America first created to defeat the Soviet Union. Now China threatens to dominate the Fourth Industrial Revolution."

I have sort of wondered what happened to the multiple trillions of dollars in the various stimulus packages and war effort spending passed in the past few years. We know much of it was consumed in fraud and waste, but what happened to the money?

Clearly, the intent of the trillion dollar packages was to funnel generational wealth into the hands of the politically connected, otherwise, why bother? And unlike Scrooge McDuck, the money isn't physically stored in a room, but is likely to be invested in the markets. So how much tax payer money was plundered, redistributed to The Party and in turn used to buy controlling interest in various businesses and start-ups where the wealth is compounded and/or used to sabotage society?

Has the trillions stolen financing ESG and Green initiatives? We are giving the wicked our wealth specifically to buy us back and destroy us.

--------------
The fire hazard was caused by using a rubber tube that fed the carberator directly over the engine. As the tube became hard it had a propensity to break open dumping gas on the hot engine. Ergo fire. It merely required use of a synthetic tube to stop this from happening. The Corvair engine did a lot of rocking and rolling under load which transferred shock to the rubber fuel line. My Dad and sister had a 63 Corvair. My sister sold it to a school mate at college who lived in NJ. On his first trip home the Corvair caught fire and burned to a crisp. Damn, my sister is smart.

I was running on hard data. Also there have been over seventy studies prior to the C19 plandemic that said that their predictions and remedies were all bogus.

It was well known before hand that lockdowns, "social-distancing", mass vaccination, pretty much every single thing they would do was predicted to lead to not just garden variety failure, but epic failure.

I think it was the feature of Epic Failure that drew them to eagerly pursue such destructive and anti-human actions.

But there's a problem I have with Goldman. He's smart and always interesting, but I've never been convinced by anything he wrote. On this, he seems to in denial (from other articles I've read) about China's demographic problem. He has, to date, simply dismissed it by citing that of other countries.

That's true up to a point, but it ignores the problem of scale or degree. Western countries do have a population problem, but China's is much worse. Which is no doubt why India matters.

The problem was schools were shut down while they pretended they were open, and parents weren't expected to do anything.

You cannot reason with 50% of the population who actively and angrily reject reason. Therefore, you have to do the only thing you can with them. In another 100 - 150 years, it'll have to be done again.

There are brokers that sell used school buses to municipalities, and a couple are pretty big operations. There would be a good follow the money project.

Definitely fraud. Illinois used to pay someone to run the lottery game show. Decades later this got out and another company offered to pay them because of all the advertising of their name on a show many watched.

Similarly there was another scandal where it was found that much of the states' cash accounts were in non interest bearing accounts. To nobody's surprise there were kickbacks a plenty involved there.
