New York Court Rules Vaccine Mandate "Capricious, Arbitrary" and Unconstitional
The State Supreme Court in New York is actually the lowest level of court of general competency (that is, ability to hear all cases). What we'd think of as the "Supreme Court" is the Court of Appeals of New York.
Still, this is good. The Court finds that the New York City Board of Health's rules that some people must be vaccinated, whereas other people do not have to be vaccinated, is "capricious and arbitrary." Athletes, for example, don't have to be vaccinated. This is obviously not due to The Science (TM), but due to pressure from league owners and fans who would not want to lose games because unvaccinated athletes were ordered to be fired by the state.

Unfortunately the NY intermediate appellate courts and the NY Court of Appeals are all dominated by democrats. I don't expect this to be upheld, but the appeals courts have surprised me before.

I generally agree, but sometimes there just isn't time. You cannot wait on a judge's ruling when aliens are blowing up cities. That has to be allowed for, in a GENUINE emergency. Again, the problem is what is being called an emergency more than the actual powers.

My doctors office just went to an electronic sign-in system to replace all the front desk people who do all the paperwork and face to face with the patients. I don't think it's going well and a lot of the regulars have quit.
You have to sign off on a bunch of stuff with a tablet, all the HIPPA stuff, emergency contacts, much of it will be transferred from my regular file except the stuff that requires signature.
All the end, there's an innocuous sign off for you to give permission to the actual company that provides the service to have access to your medical records. I refused and mentioned it to my NP and he said that seemed sneaky but no one had mentioned it to him before.
So watch out.

NY Supreme Court judges are elected, not appointed (again, the Supreme Court is the trial level court). So, it depends on where the Judge is whether he is republican or democrat. This particular judge is a republican in a conservative area.
But, the intermediate appellate court judges and the NY Court of Appeals judges are appointed by the governor (fun fact though, the intermediate appeals court judges must be appointed from among sitting supreme court judges - who were elected). B/c of this, those courts are dominated by democrats.

Just remember, there was a cop who sued in Brooklyn Supreme and the a Brooklyn justice found that the City utterly failed to do any kind of analysis in considering the cop's religious accommodation request and that the City could not backstop its response in the State court and directed the City to re-hire copy and direct that the City could terminate him for refusing to get the covid-19 vaccine.
In NYC, if a city employee sought a religious accommodation, the employee first applied to their agency, and if it was denied, they could appeal to a panel. If the panel denied, the employee could, like in this case, bring an Article 78 decision challenging the agency and panel's decisions.

Well you can do reviews while the action is ongoing or has already occurred. Like in our current circumstances, there's plenty of time to review the "emergencies" and actions undertaken. If it takes long enough that courts can do a thorough review and the emergency is still ongoing, it takes long enough for regular processes to handle.

The 10.0.0.0/8 block, an A block is for big private address ranges. You can use that on the LAN side.
Here, Spectrum and many of the others use that 10. block for private addressing of the modems and such on the system. Although I see now they're using IPv6 forms now, but the IP4 is still active.

When I was on Time Warner Cable in FL they used 10.0.0.* for LAN-side addresses also. Verizon uses 192.168.0.* for that. (And their router picks up your machine's hostnames so you can ssh to it by name, which is handy).

Yup, the whole idea of going to IPV6 was to get past the need for NATs.... but it also means you are much more 'traceable' without having to break into a router to see its NAT database.
Used to teach this stuff, and did Network Discovery and Security software development when IEEE was coming up with specs for IPV6.

Yeah, with IPv6, your internal LAN addresses are indeed public and routable. The router gets a prefix from upstream, 64-bits usually (I play around with subnets here, and get a 60-bit prefix).
However, it's still 64-bits on the lower side for the internal network. Then you have the privacy extensions where your system generates random lower 64-bits every so often and updates it. Web browsing traffic will use these temporary addresses, so your node doesn't have such a permanent public address. The prefix, however, remains constant.
