Alaska GOP Votes 49-8 to Censure Mitch the Bitch McConnell -- For Spending $5 Million to Beat the Actual Republican Conservative Kelly Tshibaka, to Protect His Liberal Abortion-Crazy Ally Lisa Murkowski

He doesn't want conservatives in the Senate. Because he knows conservatives will not vote to make him Majority Leader in the Senate.

He wants liberals in the Senate.

And he'd rather lose all the races where conservatives are running. As someone wisely and mathematically put it, McConnell is not interested in getting to 51. He only wants 25 -- the 25 liberal allies necessary to make him Minority Leader.

He doesn't care how weak the Republican caucus is, so long as he has his Cuck Platoon obeying his orders.

Kelly Tshibaka is poised to finally beat Lisa Murkowski and get rid of this flaky cokehead liberal. She'd be an actual conservative vote in the Senate.

And Mitch the Bitch can't have that.

The Alaska GOP formally censured Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell over the weekend for the Kentucky lawmaker's interference in the Arctic Senate race between two Republicans.

On Monday, the state Republican central committee announced the results of an overwhelming vote to admonish the national party leader over attack ads against Kelly Tshibaka, the candidate endorsed by the Alaska GOP who is challenging incumbent Sen. Lisa Murkowski. The final vote came to 49-8 in favor of a resolution censuring McConnell and the minority leader's Senate Leadership Fund (SLF) which has pumped more than $5 million into the race to defend a key McConnell ally in the upper chamber.

"No one from Alaska wants big shots from the Lower 48 meddling in our elections, and they certainly don't want D.C. Republicans lying about the candidate who's been endorsed by the Alaska GOP," Mary Ann Pruitt, an advisor to Tshibaka, told The Federalist. "Alaska Republicans are telling Mitch McConnell to stay out of it. But this goes to show you who Lisa Murkowski is aligned with. She's wearing the jersey of the Washington establishment of Biden, Pelosi, and McConnell, and she's not on Alaska's team."

Lisa Murkowski just reached out to Democrats by endorsing the Democrat House candidate over either of the two Republicans running for Alaska House.

This is the Democrat-in-truth that McConnell is desperate to elect -- she's a leftwinger, but she's promised him her vote.

On Friday, Murkowski endorsed the state's Democrat Congresswoman Mary Peltola in the state's House race over former Republican governor and 2008 vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin and Nick Begich, the other Republican in the contest.

In exchange, the Democrat Mary Peltola endorsed Lisa Murkowski.

Murkowski is now clearly a Democrat -- but McConnell is giving her five million to beat a conservative.

Tristan Justice's article then notes the various races in which conservative Senate candidates are threatening to win in which McConnell has removed money -- so he could pump it into Lisa Murkowski's campaign.

We cannot go on with treason from the top.

McConnell is squeezing too tightly. He's not going to be able to control the majority he gets. He'll get the top spot because of his entrenched power, but the situation is going to make John Boehner go, "Damn..."

China talk was more interesting than boring US talk, but whatevs.

Mitch isn't worried so much about votes for SML. He's got those no matter what. He is the Party, and there is no way in a month of Sundays that enough MAGA candidates will win this November to oust him. And he'll be gone soon anyway.

It's about smothering any possible resistance to the regime, as it has been since 2010 - any attempt to put anybody in who isn't Uniparty-approved must be crushed.

Where it can't be, then the candidate must be destroyed using the Democrat Party and press machines (as happened with McDaniel and Moore). Where that can't work, the winning candidate must be sidelined, using any means necessary, no matter how criminal, as happened with Trump.

It's about showing us who's boss, and that we can't beat the Uniparty, and ALL other considerations be damned.

If he gets a majority, great. If not, that's fine too. As long as the interlopers get destroyed.

I really don't think Mitch is going to lose his position at the head of the caucus, but I also think that the vote is going to be...spirited.

I really expect a serious minority of senators to hold out until the actual vote and vote for Scott (no one else is running, so Scott it is). The general practice is to have a final vote, though, to make it a unanimous decision on the part of the caucus to show solidarity. I also expect a least a couple of senators (people like Lake who are just getting there and expect to be there longer into the future than Mitch) to refuse to change their votes. It's going to be rancorous.

True, but his power is because he's up every new Congress for a vote as a leader of the caucus. I don't think there's real danger he'll lose his place, but he's making very public enemies all over the place within the party, relying entirely on his money to keep himself around.

He's losing power within the caucus. The next 2 years are going to be fascinating.

It is the desperate actions of a failing sub-party (the GOPe). Mitch is their standard bearer, and he is fighting on too many fronts - he doesn't have enough ammo to win it. He will have a more MAGA contingent to deal with - and even more coming in 2024. He could end up losing all of them, and then he won't even be majority leader this time.

88 Funny thing about Sunak; he's been putting his cabinet together this morning (or afternoon, I suppose), and his choices are....pretty good so far. Home Secretary is Suella Braverman, who wants to clamp down hard on immigration and even take Britain out of the European Human Rights Council to do it; Kami Badenoch, who's spoken out against CRT in British schools, may end up as Education Secretary.

Sunak's cabinet is going to be full of minorities and possibly more based than BoJo was.

89 >>>I really expect a serious minority of senators to hold out until the actual vote and vote for Scott (no one else is running, so Scott it is). The general practice is to have a final vote, though, to make it a unanimous decision on the part of the caucus to show solidarity. I also expect a least a couple of senators (people like Lake who are just getting there and expect to be there longer into the future than Mitch) to refuse to change their votes. Only because JJ Astor and Guggenheim - key mega-money opponents to the Federal Reserve System - perished when the Titanic sank and thus the path was clear for them to establish the System the next year. This is why the other big money men sank the Titanic - to kill Astor and Guggenheim.

Some of that is more or less true - there was a lot of opposition to the idea of the Fed from certain quarters, and the death of Guggenheim probably did (coincidentally) aid the implementation of the System. The rest of it, though, is merely my favorite conspiracy theory of all time.

More of a chance she would switch parties than Manchin although his influence is about to go down the drain. No one is going to care what he thinks when the Senate has a Republican majority. He would ctually be wise to switch parties them. haha

I know I tend to be an unwavering optimist but with a coalition of Republican governors along the lines of DeSantis and Youngkin now bolstered by Lake and Dixon, they can cause more change than a DC based Congress.

Tshibaka 49%

I really doubt it works. He barely won last time. He went from winning by over 20 in 2012 to winning by 3 in 2018. If he had made a show of opposing KJB or actually killed BBB in all its forms instead of just the first form before giving in later, he'd have been in a position to win in 2024. 292 Reforming a political system that's been corrupt for over two centuries and is populated by career politicians, most well into their twilight years and senile with a couple dozen nominally conservative members with little to no experience with Congress is not a winning plan.

I don't care how MAGA the candidates are. They're outsiders in a game dominated by insiders who've been dicking the country over for longer than some of those new candidates have been alive.

McConnell and McCarthy are not going anywhere anytime soon. Their time might be up at some point, that point is way, way down the road. And there's no guarantee the MAGA movement will still be around to see their demise, politically speaking.

Pick Three City Councilors or county commissioners (or two or five)? Basically you get at-large representation. If you make it precincts, then different populations get fairer representation of minority interests. Rural vs City; Black vs White vs Hispanic, etc.

Remember the LA City Council Wars? They were over redistricting. Which race gets more power by representation in the City Council.

307 I like what is happening to what happens on a real battlefield when a specifically strategic defensive position gets overrun by a superior force. That force ends up sweeping away everything in its path. Even legitimately defended sub strongholds so to speak.

This is what is happening to the GOPe right now. The line is breaking. Mitch funnels money to save Murkowski - thinking the MAGA types cannot win in AZ or NH (at least anti-Mitch) - and then as the line breaks, those positions can't be defended.

I'm not suggesting Mitch won't be majority leader in 2023. I am merely noting that there is the likelihood he has 10-11 fewer allies with him than he does now. That is a problem for him, and it sets him up for failure in 2024. He will not be able to force the issue. Collins and Romney (and Murkowski if she wins) will have some leverage here, but it will be fleeting. The end of the GOPe is in sight.

But it does mean that something has changed. That is happening right now. Posted by: TheJamesMadison, searching for the Invisible Man with Dracula and Frankenstein's monster at October 25, 2022 01:29 PM (LvTSG)

Third parties are worse than not voting. That puts the power in the (usually) more radical fringe rather than in the majority. The only goal of a third party is to be co-opted into one of the main parties as a pressure group. So why not start out there?

AOC toppled a powerful lazy politician because political interest was so low that a small group could take him out in a primary. She excited enough to take him down. Even though she's a waste, her predecessor was worse, and now it look like the district is actually becoming politically interested with her being the target of protests at her policies.

If tens of thousands of indifferent voters had pulled the cord for AOC's entrenched opponent in that primary, he'd still be there and still ignoring his district.

I thought he was up in 2024. Bummer. It just means he has another distasteful decision to make in 2024 - even more difficult than this year's. There are a bunch of senate seats for the dems to defend they have no prayer of winning - starting with Ohio, WV, WI, NV and maybe AZ. Depends on the candidate always. And who the governor is. If Shapiro is beat for governor in PA, you can add PA to the list.

Exactly. Oregon used to be pretty close to 50/50 Republican Democrat power. Sometimes one party would be ascendant, sometimes the other, just like the federal government.

Then, once ALL mail-in, no in-person voting was passed by a sketchy campaign, suddenly Republicans stopped winning. Suddenly, the legislature was taken over by Democrats and barely any GOP candidates win. Suddenly the governor was always Democrat.

The last six Gubenatorial elections have played out exactly the same: its super close, Dem/Rep, with Republican leading slightly, until they count the final votes from the counties Portland occupies, and surprise, surprise, the Democrat gets the win. OVER AND OVER.

I think things would be less bad if it had never passed. Yes, there would still be corruption (the nature of it changed, not the existence of it, after the passage of the 17th), but there would have been less movement to consolidate power in the central executive while it was in direct competition with power-hungry state legislators.

Repealing it now wouldn't fix that problem. Instead, we have 50 state governments addicted to federal funds. Things would get worse in a new way if we repealed it now.

The idea there is that the Senator would be more beholden to the state itself - which it is the representative of - rather than an independent contractor for out of state donors in exchange for votes for their interests.

Not sure how it would work out but the influence of the Senate continued to decline after the amendment and hasn't recovered or changed. Senators certainly do not reflect any increased populist tendencies than before.

If Republicans gain a comfortable enough margin in the senate, I suggest the Republican senators give up a seat by voting McConnell out of the Republican party. He can caucus with whoever he wants to as an independent, while the remaining Republican senators choose a a majority leader with balls.

Ditto McCarthy in the House.

505 This is beacuse Mcconnel needs Murkowski, Collins, and Romney as bargining chips with Schumer. He can get a deal by allowing these to vote on D bills inexchange for something he wants.

Someone like Cruz or Paul wouldn't go along.

That system is great - if you have a parliamentary system of government. If you want ranked-choice voting, throw away your state Constitution and adopt one that allows for a parliamentary system.

Otherwise, no thanks. Besides, the reason AK adopted it is simple: AK is doing everything and anything to prop up Lisa Murkowski in office.
