To get the effectiveness of the vaccines at keeping vaccinated persons from getting COVID, IIRC, the initial groups of vaccinated subjects were simply sent off to do their normal daily routine. Work, shopping, church, whatever. The vaccine producers told FDA, CDC, and us that vaccine effectiveness was ninety-five percent or so, because only about 5 percent of the test subjects got COVID. However, the percentage who actuially inhaled any COVID bugs was not known. Maybe only 5 percent inhaled any bugs? We have no way of knowing.

I wear a mask when mowing the lawn for allergies...and for larger particles it works. Pollen is....200 microns or something? Virus like COVID though are around 80 nanometers. The pores on a cloth mask are about 100 microns.

But the differences were small enough that - again - the underlying uncertainty about what each "group" represented, other than just the shots, overwhelms any ability to make an inference of any importance.

I'm saying there is absolutely no risk of dying from the shot if I don't receive the shot, while I have a fairly low risk of dying from the cold or flu if I even manage to catch it. This was a seismic level 180 for the Chronicle, even if just only for that one solitary office in question. But believe me on this. It'll give Mueller even greater coattails, and trim any Lina might've had, right down to her bare assed daisy duck pinfeathers. HA!

I raised a ruckus when the Mayor of the city where I live demanded that the public cough up their medical records and wear a mask as a prerequisite to get into city council meetings. Basically the problem they identified then was there was no way to really track potential vaccine injuries nationally. So it was specifically created as a tool that would capture vaccines with serious side effects if regular testing did not.
So the argument that we shouldn't trust VAERS because the earlier protocols didn't catch issues is...bullshit. That is what VAERS is supposed to do.
Its like complaining about Carbon Monoxide detectors because you can't see or smell this supposed carbon monoxide gas so it must be BS...

My dad and I both had it (I got it from him). His was moderate. Mine was minor. I have had nine coworkers that I know of who got it, 2/3 of them after they were vaxed. My COVID-panicked (masked at all times, all the shots, lots of haranguing) got it, too. Of those 12 total people I know who got it, one had a serious enough case to merit hospitalization. He got the original strain near the beginning and nearly died. He was in the hospital for three months and out of work for four.

The *really* stupid part is that, way back when the shots were still in development, the pharma people were actually honest about the fact that the shots were palliative, not preventative.
The stories have probably been scrubbed by now, but I recall reading concern-troll articles in late 2020 about how the shots **explicitly** were not intended to prevent transmission, only to prevent severe illness and death, and how that wrinkle might create "vaccine hesitancy" among the young and healthy, and that would be a roadblock to "herd immunity." This was all out in the open.
That was always a key reason why I refused to take the shot. Why would I be a guinea pig for a drug that wouldn't keep me from catching the virus? What about the unknown knock-on effects of taking the shots **and then** catching the virus? Too many unanswered -- and unanswerable -- questions.

A very nice elderly, just recently deceased neighbor reminded me how far gone things are. One day, taking her some extra lettuce from my garden or something, I repeated our offer to do her shopping, etc, if she didn't want to go out in public (a not-insane precaution, at one point, for the elderly). Anyway the small talk ensued and she shook her head in sadness and said "if only Trump took it all seriously".
Examples abound, but that stunning illustration of how misinformed and easily manipulated people are stands atop the fetid pile of examples, for now. My gawd.

I had the Wuhan Flu earlier this year, I wouldn't wish it on Piers Morgan. Some kind soul from here sent me some Ivermectin and it worked like a magic wand, literally overnight like a switch I felt enormously better and was over the crud in a matter of days. Of course I was still weak and miserable from having eaten nothing for nearly 2 weeks, but still.
