Good morning kids. Thursday and the October non-surprising surprise sliming of Herschel Walker five weeks before the midterms is appearing to be a flop. Polling shows him to still be in a virtual tie with Senate installee (no way he nor Ossoff legitimately won those races, despite the crappy candidates we had) Raphael "wife-beater" Warnock. If, as the prognosticator linked is correct in that this will go to a runoff, that is where the Democrats will probably try to pull off the steal. We shall see if Georgia's latest voter integrity legislation is able to beat the attempt. On the other hand, the out of control crime wave that is ravaging the nation, in particular the areas of Democrat domination is emerging as a top concern for voters. Significantly, they blame the Democrats and their support for the Defund the Police movement and decriminalization of crime via bail reform, the emptying of jails and the non-prosecution of hardened criminals as the cause, despite the failed attempt at disavowal of same. And Warlock Warnock is as anti- law and order as the rest. In any case, election and polling guru extraordinaire Dave in FL will be on the next podcast to ponder this race as well as all the others and the factors behind the numbers, so BOLO for that.

Basta cosi. We are now circling the drain at a pace that should have us at the event horizon of a black hole within weeks if not days. I have to augment my chicken and egg question of "does the ideology drive the incompetence or vice versa" with "does the insanity drive the desperation or vice versa?" First up on the hit parade of what NOT to do in an energy crisis — aside from not intentionally destroying your own domestic petroleum industry — is not to piss off OPEC and specifically the Saudis when you come a cropper begging for more production. I should say not piss them off again, after labeling them as "a pariah state."

But of course, he's demented. And desperate. But, since proclaiming yesterday over a hot mic that "no one fucks with a Biden," unless of course it's Biden himself fucking his daughter in the shower, he lashed out at the Saudis in the wake of OPEC+ cutting production by not just one but two million barrels per day, seeing that as the moral equivalent of them telling him "Let's Go Brandon!" to his face. Well, he'll show them!

The White House on Wednesday accused the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC+) of siding with Russia by deciding to cut oil production.

. . . The White House did not make any mention of future efforts to increase domestic oil production but pointed to Biden’s efforts to increase the supply of green energy in the United States.
“With the Inflation Reduction Act, we are making a historic investment in accelerating the transition to clean energy,” Jean-Pierre said.

To be fair, the words came from Joey's Malveaux-munching mop-top mouthpiece, but the insanity on every level is all his, or to be more precise his handlers'. Begging for more oil and being pissed you're not getting it while there is literally one of the greatest reserves on the planet right under our own feet and prohibiting its extraction, while at the same time cheering on a "transition to clean energy." And, driving a strategic ally directly into the arms of Vladimir Putin, ICBM-armed-to-the-teeth Vladimir Putin, while you're allegedly trying to defeat his imperial designs on Ukraine? Yeah, that makes perfect sense. But wait, there's more!

The Biden [junta] is now “preparing” to lift sanctions on Venezuela to allow Chevron to pump oil again from the leftist authoritarian regime in an attempt to stave off political disaster for the administration caused by rising fuel prices.
The [junta] would give “significant sanctions relief” if Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro’s regime held talks with the country’s political opposition and held free and fair elections in 2024. The [junta] has also worked out a deal freeing up hundreds of millions of dollars in Venezuelan funds that are frozen in U.S. banking institutions.
The Biden [junta] also released convicted narco traffickers related to Maduro in exchange for hostages taken by the regime, a move that could incentivize other hostile foreign powers to detain American citizens so they can use that as leverage over the Biden [junta].
“Well, the two Venezuelans that were released are the nephews of Maduro who happen to be convicted drug dealers,” Sen. Marco Rubio (R-FL) said at the start of the week. “They were put in jail after being convicted after a fair trial in the United States. Evidence was produced and it was overwhelming.”
“That has now put a price tag on Americans. Every time you do one of these deals — and I wanted those people released as much as anybody,” Rubio continued. “But every time you do this, now others know, I can take Americans, I can hold them until I need something as a bargaining chip.”

Ask them if they care, Dondi. They don't! They are desperate to keep the price of gasoline from rising until after the midterms. As if that is going to save their asses anyway. Pro-tip for the junta: the problem with draining the strategic petroleum reserve is that eventually, you run out of other people's strategic petroleum reserves. All of this could end relatively quickly, the Dems could even preserve their Congressional majority and perhaps Biden's replacement could keep the White House in '24. All they have to do is the diametric opposite of this and every other policy they have instituted for the past 21 months and really since the beginning of time. And if the queen had balls she'd be the king, an expression that is destined to lose its meaning as the Left is actively doing exactly that to our children, but I digress.

It is evident that they are intentionally doing these things so as to complete the "fundamental transformation" of America into a nightmare socialist totalitarian state controlled by the Davos-Brussels-Beijing Axis. Muslim fecundity and mass global migration notwithstanding.

A commenter yesterday morning (sorry I should've saved the comment) said that much of this is the same playbook as the Soviets after 1917. I disagree. With the exception of Stalin's intentional genocide of the Ukrainians, they actually believed that the dismantling of their economy and turning it over to central planners would lead to paradise and prosperity. I think they had actual "good intentions," at least those who had been horribly oppressed and abused under the tsars. I do not believe that is the case of the Kalorama Klown Komintern. America especially since the end of the Second World War was the greatest economy and greatest engine of prosperity for everyone the world had ever seen.

But, in their eyes, you have to destroy paradise to create paradise.

The reason it’s important to know that I believe Obama is the real president is because Obama was my college classmate at Columbia University, Class of 1983 — where we learned the plan to destroy America.

People buy the vehicle they need because they need it. They might not need to tow a trailer every day, but if they need to tow a trailer ever couple of weeks then they still need something that can tow that trailer.

EVs are as useless as mopeds to most people (mopeds are cheap to operate and get great range too, you know!), and shouldn't even be in the same conversation as real vehicles when discussing purchasing options.

They're not cars the same way cars are.

Lately, I've been noticing more and more people using electric scooters and golf carts(!)-
as their vehicle for short distance needs like going to the grocery store.
They age group seems to be in the 30-65 age range mostly.
I read this a couple of ways:
1) A significant amount of people believe in the "climate change" scam.
2) They can't afford an EV regardless of their belief mostly due to the fact that most people can't afford a Toy Virtue Car (TM) as well as a full use car or truck, and-
3) The glorious Biden economy is strangling the Nude Green Eel in it's crib. It takes a roaring economy and a lot of "disposable" income in the hands of deplorable to be able to afford a complete system flip like this
4) EVs may be a dead market with very limited growth.

This is what will break the American empire. They're fucking with primal forces - energy and finance - because of Russia, and I think they're going to lose control. Kicking Russia out of SWIFT was the first major crack, and they did it on purpose. Non-dollar international settlements are on the rise. Add in to that energy constraints and the dollar is likely, in my estimation, to fall as the reserve currency and currency of international settlement.

So there will be less energy, we won't have enough domestic production to pour into our "allies" in Europe to keep them whole (possibly not even enough to keep them limping along), bidding will be increasingly non-dollar and everything will cascade downstream.

They will have destroyed the postwar economic/energy order. There is much of that order that was bad, but they're going to have little influence over how it falls apart. Ukraine will end up being the most richly-compensated whore in human history.

It's OPEC countries plus non-OPEC countries that often follow OPEC moves. It includes the non-OPEC countries that are (sometimes or often) aligned with the OPEC countries. The "plus" countries are places like Russia, Kazakhstan, Malaysia, etc. They aren't in OPEC formally, but they're in the orbit of OPEC countries (or in the orbit of countries in the orbit of the OPEC countries) and often participate in the cartel's plans.

It's not just emotionally satisfying; it's absolutely necessary for us to go through this if there is to be any hope of the future. We allowed the "green" insanity to go way too far, we detached from reality, and *everyone* has to see that "green" policies will only create death. And sadly, that will never be believed until *after* several million deaths due to them have happened. I'm relieved that Saudi has brought this on now rather than waiting for the inevitable.

Of course I cannot answer for JJ or anyone else, but for myself, I am always mindful of those great men and women in the past who were in even worse situations and never gave up. I think of the French and Cszeck resistance fighters who kept on fighting even though the Gestapo was executing their friends and family daily. I think of Sophie Scholl, who didn't give up even though it led to her death. I think of the brave dissidents who opposed the Communist regime in the USSR, even though they were imprisoned. Beyond that, one can look back to 2000 years of Christian martyrs who refused to bend the knee, or to be quiet, no matter how horrible the consequences. That's how I think about it.

Part of the mental problem is thinking that things shouldn't be this bad - but I think it's easier to deal with if one openly accepts that yes, this current government is every bit as evil and vicious as any that have ever existed in history.

I know this may not be for you but, a significant part of my "keep things in perspective" routine is watching horror movies.
Apparently, I'm not the only one who feels that way, because time after time it's been shown that interest in horror movies and box office success increases during "hard times". So, the right season is here!

Guessing at your personality here at the HQ, I'm going to suggest two that you might like.
Both are very good to excellent, somewhat "quirky" lower-budget horror movies now streaming on HULU, so I'm sure they're available elsewhere if you don't have HULU.
They're totally different, but SPOILER!!! have "happy" endings.
They are:
"Splinter" and "As Above So Below"
"Splinter" has a very unusual "monster" and a small group of people trapped by it. "AASB" is a found-footage movie involving a group searching through the underground crypts of Paris to find the Philosopher's Stone. That's all you need to know.
I think the horror movie effect is due to seeing other people with problems much worse than your own doing their best to survive and work their way out.
YMMV. But, give it a whirl.

360 My memory is Sulla wasn't originally a particularly ideological guy, so it really was a mistake of Marius to make the man his enemy. Sulla was smart enough to rally Marius's enemies to his side but it wasn't his intent originally.

However, O is a creation of some other political force; he didn't just happen. (Nor did FJB, another matter.) O's dad was an economist & his mom worked for the U.N. His grandfather had Frank Lloyd Marshall involved in O's life. And even many decades ago, there were stories about how America would be changed i.e., TIME Magazine Cover: The New Face of America, Nov '93. "How Immigrants Are Shaping the World's First Multicultural Society." He fit the bill perfectly.

FJB is another long ago creation, entwined with 'the Church' and unions. Married to #2 at the U.N., his family members (including Hunt and sis) are not strangers to the organization.

They're willing participants (even if just the faces of change) in the radical changes to this nation & have their marching orders to which they hold. All IMHO.

PS - KH's father was also an economist, became a U.S. citizen & taught at Stanford.
