Prayer Requests:
5/28 – FortWorthMike requests prayers for his grandniece, Chloe, and her family, to find a kidney to transplant. Chloe is a toddler who has been on this prayer list before, and it has helped her. She was born with bad kidneys and had them removed soon after birth. She’s had multiple health issues, and is now getting daily dialysis at home. Her mother’s kidneys aren’t a match, and her father’s are a match, but are too large for her little body. Thanks for your prayers!
7/23 Update – Little Chloe is having a lot of bladder infections, as the medical team works to stretch her bladder (in preparation for receiving a kidney). There have been so many infections that her bladder may need to be removed. Please keep praying for a kidney match, for her health, and for her worried family.
9/10 Update – Chloe goes on the list for a kidney on 9/16. She has started preschool, which she loves. She is getting together with new friends and getting physical and speech therapy. She is as smart as a whip, but with the tubes, etc. her speech is delayed. Thank you to the Lord and the horde, from a long I mean long time lurker and occasional commenter.
8/13 – Several people requested prayers for Donald Trump and his family.
9/8 Update – also prayers for the 50+ MAGA supporters who were raided by the FBI.
8/15 – Cosda asks for prayers for her sister, whose regularly scheduled colonoscopy revealed a problem. The sister will be having her ascending colon removed next week. It seems to be early in the cancer stage and contained. Prayers are appreciated by the family.
9/10 Update – The lab results showed that the entirety of the cancer was removed from the colon, but 2 out of 50 lymph node tested showed signs of cancer, so chemo is next. Everybody is optimistic.
8/19 – mngiggle requested for prayers for his brother-in-law, who is in the ICU for pneumonia and possibly sepsis.
9/18 Update – The brother-in-law was released from the ICU and has been home for the a couple of weeks, and has been getting stronger again. Thank you all for your prayers!
8/29 – Bete asks for prayers, as he has a pre-interview screening call.
9/10 Update – Bete had received a job offer.
9/5 – SP asks for prayers for Lilibeth, who has begun her delayed immunotherapy for bladder cancer, but since shortages exist, she is receiving only one third of the prescribed dosage. Meanwhile, she has been diagnosed with recurring cervical cancer.
9/6 – Jewells45 had bad news and needs prayers. Her CT scan indicated several nodes on her lungs, too many to count. It is very probable that she has lung cancer. Her husband is devastated, and she is scared to death.
9/20 Update – The PET scan results were not good. The doctor wants to do a bronchoscopy on one of the lymph nodes to see if it is cancerous.
9/26 Update – It is cancer, non-small cell carcinoma. The doctor said it can be managed, not cured. She will see an oncologist as soon as possible. She sends her thanks for the prayers, and asks that you please keep praying for her.
9/10 – Greyman27 requests prayers for his lumbar fusion surgery on 9/15, his third surgery in 19 years to fix low back/nerve issues. He is hopeful that this turns out to be the permanent fix his surgeon believe it will be.
9/15 – SanFranpsycho asked for prayers for an immediate and speedy recovery for his cousin Phyllis, who was seriously injured in a fall this week at her assisted living center. She is almost 90 and lost her front teeth and broke her nose.
9/15 – Tonypete asks for healing prayers for Mike, the husband of a good friend. Mike fell and suffered a devastating brain injury. He is currently hospitalized and his prognosis is not good.
9/16 – Pillage Idiot requests prayers for his father. Dad has been battling severe heart disease and two different cancers for the last several years. He was recently infected with an antibiotic-resistant bacteria that put him in the ICU with multiple organs failing. The doctor said to gather the family, since this would probably be his last day. But after 3 days, his kidneys started to function, and his blood work is improving! Please help see if we can push him back to the top of the hill!
9/17 – SanFranpsycho asks for prayers for complete and immediate healing of his friend Paul, who learned he has a malignant tumor on his pancreas. Paul has been his closest friend for his entire life – since the first day of kindergarten over 50 years ago.
9/21 – A member of the Horde asked for prayers for NLUrker, who said that everything in his life is going badly.
9/21 - Fenelon Spoke asks for prayers for a church friend named Bob, who is having trouble with swollen fingers and pain. The doctors are having trouble finding the cause, and his next step is to see a neurologist. He is having difficulty with the pain and also with being inactive, so prayers for a solution and healing would be appreciated.
9/22 – DDS asked for prayers for long-time commenter Farmer, as he recently received a cancer diagnosis.
9/24 – Sua Sponte asked for prayers. His friend’s sister-in-law was murdered recently (domestic violence) and the rest of the family needs prayer. A fundraiser is available at https://www.gofundme.com/f/terry-chermak-funeral-and-domestic-abuse-fund. Sua Sponte sends his thanks for those people out there who pray.

I've got hundreds (?) of mostly very old videos of mine (that few ever saw), playlists of my and others' videos, and a huge YouTube subscription list. I sure hope that's not all gone.

Why? F if I know. I don't do anything lately but watch videos; haven't uploaded any in a while. I very rarely even comment.

Write your congresscritter... no, visit your local Goolag YouTube store and register a complaint about the banning of ... somebody... who was it? Never mind. Oh, look, a kitty vid!

It's one of the safest money laundering schemes around, and intentionally so. It's obvious that's what he was doing in Vegas. So where did all this money come from?

But why would the authorities work so hard to cover this up? Only one reason; he was affiliated in some way with one of the agencies, probably DEA but doesn't matter if it was FBI or CIA. Same need to cover up his tracks, which they clearly did. One obvious reason would be that showing what he was actually doing would lift the lid on some major illegal cross border operation by the US govm't - drugs? people? guns? All of the above? Something they didn't want us to know about, that's for certain.

Ah yes, I remember a time way back in my early days, where my brothers and I were presented Karo Syrup in lieu of maple syrup, one Sunday after church. Chaos...

We'd have killed for brown sugar! We made syrup by collecting the oil seeping out of our 1974 Impala. We'd strain it through a rag found on the side of the road and put maple leaves on it for flavor.

In middle school we had to do a book report skit and we decided to do a takeoff on the "Gimme a Light" theme using a slide projector.

Actual beer was out of the question, so we went to the home economics teacher and she whipped up something that looked exactly like frothy beer with a firm head of foam on the top. Like, it was going to stay that way for a while.

We do the skit, I say "Gimme a light!' the projector comes on, and I say "No, Bud Light!" I get the cup and take a drink and GAHHH! it was awful.

Naturally, everyone had to try it to find out how bad it was. We asked the teacher why she poisoned us, and she said "I made it to look good, not taste good."

Apparently, you can make syrup out of most maple sap. Sugar maple is the most efficient, but even box elders can provide syrup, it just takes a huge amount of sap and isn't commercially viable. With my military retirement at hand, I'm thinking of getting a reverse osmosis kit and trying it on the many, many maples in my yard.

The other media is using the photo of the two dressed in their more traditional rolls of man and woman, with no written reference to the transgender status of the one with the penis.

I love Matthew Henry's commentaries! I also have my dad's 1908 Dummelow Commentary which is quite good. Although a couple of the contributors seem a bit enamored of Islam with regards to some of the OT texts.

157 Urg. I have offended a relative.

I admit I'm somewhat persnickety and sometimes I'm not sure when to say something. This relative is going to be using my car. The last time she used my car (with another relative), it came back with shallow gouges in the back bumper. These aren't just scuffs or scratches. It looks like somebody's heavy suitcase had a bent rivet or something sharp and perhaps the weaker relative lost control of the suitcase while taking it out of the trunk. Neither said anything about it when they returned my car so I don't think they were aware.

So I asked the relative to make sure to use my trunk rather than the back seat in case the sharp thing was on her suitcase. I don't want cuts in the leather upholstery.

On that side of the family, things like this makes me a judgmental person. In their family culture, everything they do is wonderful and only mean people have any issues with what they do. On the other hand, they feel quite free to assume attitudes that are judgmental in my view, such as imputing bad motives to people when there's no evidence.

200 I see I left out an important detail. This relative is helping us get both of our cars to our new home.

And my concern with everyone in this branch of the family is how to not hurt feelings while avoiding the (usually minor) damages to various bits of property. One person would not give me a second to untangle an item we were unloading and just ripped it out and damaged the item. Another wanted to clean our bathroom while her handyman husband installed a new shower fixture. I supplied the cleanser I wanted her to use and went to work. While I was gone, she bought something she liked that very clearly said "do not use on metal fixtures" and used it on our new metal fixtures and damaged the finish.

Part of their culture is a lack of awareness. They just don't notice when they are doing something damaging. And my desire to not unnecessarily damage things makes me materialistic in their view. And judgmental if I say anything to avoid damage.

My grandma lived within a block of Ford City Mall. As a kid in the 80s, we used to walk from her house to the mall whenever I visited. I remember there was a lower level area with a bunch of smaller stores where she took me to get my haircut a lot. And I remember my uncle took me the big bowling alley they used to have there in the mall. Great memories.

But yeah, I remember that the mall went downhill in the 1990s. That whole area near Ford City mall was built up a LOT over the years from the 1990s forward. I used to work at Kohl's across the street from there for a couple summers during college. My mom worked there when I was in high school in customer service. There was a Circuit City, Popeye's Chicken, Montgomery Ward's. They built a huge Walmart on Cicero by the hill down the street from Ford City. So many things got built up in that area. But then it all came crumbling down when the 'bad results' you mention started moving their way to the neighborhood.

Fortunately, it happened in Wellington Harbor.

The ferry route between Wellington and the South Island is in the "Roaring 40s", and you can get truly massive waves on that run. Not pleasant to be sitting out there without power.

Especially if it involves children and grandbabies. Even if they should have known better. Being young, gullible, and trying to do the right thing, only to find out it was harmful after being pushed so hard by TPTB!

Could get ugly. I have a very trusting friend who has brought up on his own how he didn't used to get sick before the vaxx. His grandbaby has a health issue and was likely nursing from a vaxxed mom.

If you need someone to move the car, I'd probably consider paying someone or selling the car after listening to the tales here. The "free help" isn't seeming very free or very helpful.

I understand they are your relatives but.... they sound like irresponsible, entitled junior high school kids. You can set boundaries without being "mean" (although I'm sure they would pout). I too would look for other options to get the car moved.
