3 Evening and morning to all! Stirling the Big Black Kitten says "Hello!" Actually he is probably saying "Feed me," or "Pet me," or "Play with me." He has mellowed from the kitten crazies quite a bit. Miss Linda, though, tells me that he is occasionally straddling the girl kitten, Dagny, and nipping at her neck in the activity cats think of as "foreplay." I thought disconnecting his batteries would head this off --?

Four people were murdered in Oakland on Monday, and the responses are so trite and predictable.

The message in actuality is "good luck and the police will show up later"

I found this little pamphlet from 1932 at the church of only about 16 pages called "Exploring the Bible". Some notes on the Old Testament include:

Joshua 1:1-9 brims with courage
Psalm 103 should be memorized as well as read
Psalm 139 brings God close to one.
Isaiah 58 sets before us the idea of a God controlled life

How I dream of a climate like that in Sept. instead of January. Notsothoreau on one of the morning threads yesterday started me thinking about northern Kansas as a place to move to and buy a house. There are numbers of decent-priced and great-looking houses in small towns there. Why is it that pics of even fairly nice houses here in Lousy-ana all look like they are slimy and moldy, yet houses in the same range in WI, KS, and WV all look spruce and well-kept?

(Maybe because they are?)

22 Just an odd quirk in that dream. It was your fairly standard dream. Some sort of standard, normal situation but there is some sort of secret evil organization that is posing as the cleaning crew. The nice lady asked me to go down the hall to the room with the blah blah and 'hit the button for the Waste Management Pudding.'

For my part I was like 'Oh, ok.' Like Waste Management Puddings were something I dealt with every day. I go down the hall to the room and start searching through a drawer of rings (that go on your finger) for evidence of the bad guys and someone comes in and asks me what I am doing, suspiciously. Covering, I say 'She asked me to hit the button for the Waste Management Pudding. The guy is suspicious but motions me toward the button on the wall.

Then I woke up and immediately thought 'Waste Management Pudding? What the hell, brain?'

I'm sure there is still some deep memory left over. I've never had a mixed pair of cats before; generally all my pairs have been M-M or F-F. His Lordship Arizona lived with a Siamese female for a little time and never did that; but he disliked other cats on principle, and was 3 years neutered when the Siamese came along.

I've crossed Kansas E to W on I-70 twice. The landscape is pretty dull, the exits are far apart, and not every one has a gas station right off the highway, so you need to fill up when you can. But you're climbing very slightly the whole way. And when you cross into CO and first raise the Rockies -- beautiful.

40 There are a couple of sites that have a Ukraine jones - every victory is amplified, every Russian misstep a disaster. Hoyt is linking one that declares Putin is desperate with his latest move. Perhaps. What should be top of mind for Americans is that for whatever reason Putin has shifted the narrative of the war from some odd police action to a defense of the motherland. He only needs a small percentage of his conscripts to buy into that concept before Russian history and psychology creates a bad stretch of highway for Zelensky. Meanwhile our glorious resident gets lost on stage and blanks out for 15 seconds or so in NY yesterday. Dangerous times.

Because under Russian law conscripts can't be used except in defense of Russia. That's also why trying to make Eastern Ukraine part of Russia (as far as Russia is concerned) by next week. Then he can use conscripts against Ukrainians trying to take their country back.

So either something is being misrepresented or there are major conflicts of interests between the suspect and the LE apparatus of the town.

Love your neighbor as yourself. Excusing barbaric behavior or willful ignorance in yourself is not loving yourself, it is disrespecting yourself and your own dignity. Just as it is for your neighbor. It is because you love your neighbor that you should recoil in horror when they turn wombs into oubliettes, and children's hospitals into abbatoirs. It is because you love your neighbor that you should be disgusted when they are enslaved and reduced to chattel for the insatiable greed and lust of others.

89 TX + FL + 5th circuit / 11th circuit split + almost certain SCOTUS resolution is likely to achieve something I thought might never happen.

Common carriers are going to be common carriers again.

91 When SOS Benson joined Michigan in ERIC, she claimed her goal was to clean up the state’s voter rolls,” Johnson added. “Today, the number of Michigan’s registered voters has climbed to more than 104% of its voting-age population. That impossible number could function like a slush fund of phantom voters for fraudsters to dip into.

92 What Abrams is saying is so ghoulish it's almost beyond belief that a human being can really think that way. To be so invested in the murder of a baby no one has ever even met, that you can contort and pervert your thought to such ridiculous lengths.

>>That impossible number could function like a slush fund of phantom voters for fraudsters to dip into.

As has been noted, the Donks don't need voters, they need a universe of potential votes to mine and "fortify" elections.

This is basically the 2020 playbook.

PA's SOS did something similar when he re-jiggered the voter registration/ballot request forms and combined them on one form.

Because many more people will register than request a ballot, but now you have a method to create and harvest all the ballots you may need.

This crap needs to stop or else voting or voting will become more and more Potemkin every day.

94 Neptune's year is 164 earth-years. Which makes me wonder. Say the sun was a lot brighter so life evolved on Neptune instead. Would we all live thousands of (earth) years?

For a creature to be stable it has to be able to survive one full turn of the seasons. Once you can do that, you're off to the races.

"Could"? There is a really weird "utilitarian" approach to election security.... this idea that anything is fine and permissible so long as it didn't tangibly alter the election result... Where is this approach for car inspections? Taxes? Drunk driving? "No harm no foul", even when applied honestly and with good intentions, is no way to run a Rule of Law society, and it definitely is not the way to run the thing we do as a proxy to avoid periodic revolution and civil wars...

Both.

It's why illegals are so important to their plan. Between the cheating AND the influx of new Democrats, they've got two roads to get to the same destination.

99 Having more voters than residents anywhere should bring the whole shebang to a screeching halt and become the new Thing We All Talk About until it's brought under control. Not some brushed off, hey maybe we should look into that when we get a chance, whenever kind of thing.

104 They keep screeching on the local TV weather that "Fall arrives tonight at 8:04 pm." Hoop-de-doo. Still going to be in the mid-90s tomorrow and low 90s over the weekend. Local weather twink says, "The humidity won't be too terrible . . ."

"Not too terrible"? That's hardly a recommendation. "The place isn't doing all that badly" is not a good recommendation for someone to go to NYC or SF, either?

111 Paypal got sketchy as soon as Musk was replaced as CEO by Peter Thiel in October of 2001. I know, I was using the service at that time, and stopped as soon as the horror stories started appearing from customers and vendors alike. Frozen accounts with no explanation*, withdrawals directly from people's bank accounts (which were tied to their paypal account electronically) that weren't expected or authorized, it was a mess.

I don't know what they're like now, and have no desire to find out.

{*} Imagine having your funds frozen, and being unable to accept payments or make payments if you're a small specialty shop with a web store in the very early 2000's, or maybe you're just an individual selling some old music CD's or used games on eBay and PayPal freezes your account without warning in the middle of 50+ active auctions.

112 I don't use PayPal anymore.
if the government has any use, it should be to prevent banks and payment systems from blocking customers from their use for any legal purpose.
