More Whistleblowers Come Forward: Wray Has Lost All Respect at the FBI, and Cannot Continue Effectively As Its Leader

Rank-and-file FBI agents say they cannot see how FBI Director Christopher A. Wray stays in his position after The Washington Times' exclusive report about a senior bureau official stepping down under scrutiny for suspected political bias affecting investigations.
Kurt Siuzdak, a lawyer and former FBI agent who represents whistleblowers at the bureau, said agents tell him that Mr. Wray has lost control of the agency and should resign.
"I'm hearing from [FBI personnel] that they feel like the director has lost control of the bureau," he said. "They're saying, 'How does this guy survive? He's leaving. He's got to leave.'"
FBI whistleblowers talking to Congress about corruption and retaliation say in disclosures that Mr. Wray was often notified of the problems within the bureau but never took action to resolve them.
That includes recent whistleblower disclosures to House Judiciary Committee Republicans about agents being forced or coerced into signing false affidavits and claims of sexual harassment and stalking. It also includes fabricated terrorism cases to elevate performance statistics, as reported this month by The Times.

"[The FBI agents] are telling me they have lost confidence in Wray. All Wray does is go in and say we need more training and we're doing stuff about it, or we will not tolerate it," Mr. Siuzdak said.

The term "corpus delicti" really means "the body of the crime," not just the corpse. If you can establish the fact of the death and the fact of the agency that caused the death, as I understand it, you can convict for murder or whatever charge. If you have witnesses to the vaporizing (not likely, I guess) and expert sworn testimony as to the vaporizing power of the gun the witnesses saw used, you might have a case. Attorneys?

Odd fun fact: cheetahs are the NYC neurotic with 3 therapists, of the cat world. Very fragile critters, emotionally. They've found that pairing them up, young with *dog* companions, works very well at making them calm, and much easier to work with. Bizarre, but effective. So you'll usually see a middle-aged labrador or something in the cheetah enclosure sleeping near "its" cheetah.

354 Wolfus, you're probably right - they can do incredible speeds, but always in short bursts (well suited to the purpose - catching game).

They really are amazing purpose-built (well, you know what I mean) machines: they can do those incredible accelerations for brief periods, then must cool down for a long time. Like some machine run at high tempo for short periods.

The dog thing, I think, is that the dog's presence - and overall calm demeanor - sets the cheetah at ease about their environment/threat level. So, I guess, "comfort animals" - to, well, animals.

The transition from 105 degree Mojave, CA (but it's a dry heat!) to 95 degree St. A (holy shit, is it muggy here!) has not been an easy one.
