they are based in a way. They aren't really into "society" in the sense that the progressives think they are. They are into family. As in, I will do whatever i can to get my family ahead. Whatever is the best strategy. The got some people that are honest and some that aren't just like us. Family is still a huge deal to them. Extended family, not just the nuclear family even. The biggest difference is they aren't really used to the rule of law. So breaking it doesn't have much of a taboo. You can reason with them, and bargain because what they want isn't ideological, its pragmatic and practical. Some of them, to be sure are commies, but most of them, would spit on a commie if they could.

3. Oh, and adjectives can be singular or plural... mejor/mejores or su/sus. (they usually take a gender, too, but "mejor", ending with a consonant, is an exception.)

So, I would translate that as, "No están enviando los mejores." or, perhaps, "No están enviando sus mejores."

In CO, I know, house prices went up in the '90s and earlier in CO because the Californians came in and were *willing* to pay, say, $100K for a house that a year before was listing for $75K (because the same house in CA was going for $200K). The sellers and realtors said, "These LA people are idiots, and they think $100K is a deal. Let's let them think that."

That way I could see prices going up. But if the Californians had kept their mouths shut (hard to envision), they could have had the place for $75K.

There's a limited amount of houses for sale at a given price. Not everyone is willing to sell at the current price. So, absent new construction(which takes time and space), the wave of people moving in need to bid up the price to bring more sellers to market.
