Recall that Bosch was extremely devout. Although there are other (I think more reasonable) ways to interpret Galations 3:28, a strict literalist can look at Paul's statement that in Christ, there is neither male nor female, and come to the conclusion that Bosch did.

Hunter Biden was considered victim by Delaware police in controversial gun incident

Delaware State Police considered Hunter Biden the victim in an October 2018 incident in which his handgun was discarded in a grocery store trashcan near a Delaware high school, according to a source with knowledge of the investigation into the incident.
No arrests were made as a result of the incident because Hunter declined to press charges against his sister-in-law, Hallie Biden, the source said. Hallie, who was in a tumultuous relationship with Hunter at the time, took Hunter's gun from his car on Oct. 23, 2018, wrapped it in a shopping bag, and threw it in a trashcan outside a Janssen's Market grocery store because she said she was scared for his life.

278 Inferno (Italian: [iɱˈfɛrno]; Italian for "Hell") is the first part of Italian writer Dante Alighieri's 14th-century epic poem Divine Comedy. It is followed by Purgatorio and Paradiso. The Inferno describes Dante's journey through Hell, guided by the ancient Roman poet Virgil. In the poem, Hell is depicted as nine concentric circles of torment located within the Earth; it is the "realm ... of those who have rejected spiritual values by yielding to bestial appetites or violence, or by perverting their human intellect to fraud or malice against their fellowmen"

I don't think we're much arguing over it as discussing different conceptions. Strictly speaking the Catholic and Orthodox versions are pretty vague, though there are many thinkers who have proposed different things. Dante's Inferno is a particular model. Not sure if the Protestants have some dogmatic(required to believe in) version of Hell.

353 341 The Rich Man and Lazarus gives a pretty good indication as to what Hell is like. Great chasm fixed, which none can cross, eternally burning, longing for even a drop of water on the tongue to quench the eternal flame. (Going out on a limb here, I wonder if "water" is a reference to "living water.")

The rich man thirsted for the mercy he denied Lazarus. It is a condition of God’s mercy that we too do mercy. On the cross Christ thirsted for souls to be saved.

The parables were generally held by the Church Fathers to have multiple meanings that are all true. The Prodigal Son is an easy one to see in that the characters all apply in some fashion to us. We can be at times the resentful brother, though we ought not, we should be like the father, welcoming back the one thought dead, and we are the prodigal.

There's a huge variety. Calvinists have generally been in on the Hellfire and Brimstone angle, and most of the protestants that are in the smaller, more evangelical churches are heavily in with that. On the other hand, Luther himself wrote that Hell was eternal separation from God, not some actual physical place.

361 The Senate voted 64-34 to begin debate on its Chips bill, a corporate-welfare vehicle providing $52 billion in grants and $24 billion in tax credits to the profitable semiconductor industry. But it turns out that bill was merely the bad news. The really bad news is that Majority Leader Chuck Schumer quickly filed a 1,054-page bipartisan amendment to pour more than twice that amount of money into federal agencies.

The $76 billion Chips version is wasteful enough since the pandemic computer-chip shortage is already easing amid slowing demand and new investments in capacity—including new factories in the U.S.

But politicians always want more, and the $250 billion version will help the U.S. compete against China only if you believe that the key to success is a larger federal bureaucracy and more political allocation of capital.

405 '' I expect to see Jesus waiting for me at the entrance to heaven with an exasperated look on his face.''

Well, to be literal about it, He won't have an exasperated look because He already knows whether or not you're going to heaven.

I remember an 'after-death' experience story in an old issue of Catholic Digest years ago, where the protagonist sees God's hands holding a silver sphere. When the newly-dead person tried to make one themselves, it only came out as a crumpled, crooked wad of metal. But God took it anyway, and began leading them into heaven.

I don't really know whether it was a true vision or not (I suspect not), but it was a nice example of God forgiving imperfection.

Or so I thought then. I don't know what I think now.

“What’s the downside for humoring him?” they mused.
I've never heard of this. Must be a big thing in Vichy Republican land.

The quote was rattling around my brain last Thursday night as I watched Liz Cheney ruthlessly eviscerate her cowering colleagues like a lioness gnawing on a carcass in an NC-17 nature documentary. But it was during that savage meal that something rather alarming occurred to me.

Liz might be winning the argument for history and in my living room. But in present-day Republican politics, that anonymous “what’s the downside for humoring him” moron actually won the day. And not just that day, but today. Because despite how brutally and blatantly their strategy in managing Trump’s psychopathy failed, Senior Republican Officials (SROs) are still employing it.

Meh. Information is still far too free. Even in fully repressive environments, the lies were never convincing and the point was to depress, not inform.

The more Democrats as a whole tell the people that what they're seeing isn't true, the less people listen to them. It extends the problem from just Biden to everyone pushing the line. It makes it a Party problem.

456 I wonder if hub's clients ever had this thought about him...
---

No, really. Ned Resnikoff, a “senior editor” at the liberal website ThinkProgress, wrote on Facebook that he’d called a plumber to fix a clogged drain. The plumber showed up, did the job and left, but Resnikoff was left shaken, though with a functioning drain. Wrote Resnikoff, “He was a perfectly nice guy and a consummate professional. But he was also a middle-aged white man with a Southern accent who seemed unperturbed by this week’s news.”
This created fear: “While I had him in the apartment, I couldn’t stop thinking about whether he had voted for Trump, whether he knew my last name is Jewish, and how that knowledge might change the interaction we were having inside my own home.”

When it was all over, Resnikoff reported that he was “rattled” at the thought that a Trump supporter might have been in his home. “I couldn’t shake the sense of potential danger.”
